So had an eventful week last week, we live in an area that rarely experiences black outs but we managed to have two in one night last Tuesday!!!!!!! The knock on effect of this was it killed the internet to our street as our Telco's exchange suffered some power issue. What was most frustrating was that the unhelpful call centre people overseas kept telling us there was no outage but fortunately my neighbour works for the telco company and got it flagged as an issue. Long story short no internet or cable TV till the Saturday except for a few instances where the nets skeletal hand clawed out of the grave then went down again. This only caused more problems because again we were flagged as no issue. So didn't want to play AC Odyssey offline and risk corrupting my online saves and losing 175hrs of progress so I visited the Andromeda Galaxy again (and watched 26 episodes of The Grimm on DVD). I find MEA such an easy game to fall back into, so created a new Sara and finished Habitat 7, got to The nexus and did all the talky talky stuff, got the Tempest and scanned some systems and then landed on EOS. Got power back to Site 1, activated some monoliths, scanned some wildlife and some dead bodies and reset the vault. Have headed back to Odyssey buit will also keep putting some time into MEA as I planned to play it afterwards anyway. My new Sara, not sure re the hair yet though:

Side quests with Scott Ryder:
While on Voeld, Peebee and Cora had made comments about what an achievement Prodromos was and how great it would be to go back there. I took this as a “subtle” hint that we should return to Eos, so that’s what we did. During the trip I checked in with the crew, and with Moshae Sjefa who was resting in the crew quarters – she answered a few more questions about kett “exaltation”.
On Eos I took care of various side quests with the help of Peebs and Cora, including taking out some kett outposts for Bain Massani. We also investigated a problem with missing supplies, and found the culprits to be some exiles from the Nexus. They seemed to want to make amends, but feared going back to the station, so I offered them amnesty in Prodromos.
We then went to the Nexus, where Peebee finally revealed her “secret project”: a Remnant drone that she’d programmed to help us in combat. Impressive.
We then headed for Aya. The people were relieved to have Moshae Sjefa back safe and sound, so I took the opportunity to explore the city and meet with various people – a museum curator, the head of the Resistance, Governer Shie, among others. I then went back to the docks as the Moshae had agreed to take us to the Remnant Vault on the planet.

More of Scott Ryder’s adventures:
Took a shuttle to the Aya vault with Moshae Sjefa. We learned that all of the vaults were connected, and that the central control point was called Meridian. Reconnecting all of the vaults to Meridian would apparently fix the malfunctions. Unfortunately the Archon also knew about Meridian, so a showdown seemed inevitable. Back at Resistance HQ, Evfra revealed that a resistance fighter named Vehn helped the Archon capture the Moshae, so the hunt would start with him. He was reported to be hiding out on Kadara.
Back on the Tempest, Peebee was feeling restless. She mentioned that zero-G chambers used to calm her down when she was feeling this way, so SAM suggested turning off the gravity in the escape pod. Peebee invited me to join her, and even suggested other fun activities the two of us could do together. I agreed to the zero-G chamber but said no thanks to the “extracurricular” activities.
Kallo and Gil were arguing – again – and it was up to me to referee. I sided with Kallo, as I didn’t feel that Gil’s alterations to the ship design were something that should be done on a whim.
Liam had apparently messed up – another thing that seemed to be a recurring theme. A contact of his with the angara had been captured by pirates, and Liam had given sensitive Initiative information to the contact, so the Nexus could be at risk. Or something. To be honest I’m never really sure what’s going on when it comes to Liam.
Anyway, the two of us along with Drack ended up playing possum in a debris field in the Sephesa system, and the scavengers took the bait. We ended up getting hauled onto a kett ark ship that the outlaws had found and restored. They had captured not only angarans but some Initiative people as well, putting them to work to repair the ship.
With support from August Bradley and some people from Prodromos, who Liam had also roped into helping, we were able to defeat the outlaws and free all the captives, including Liam’s friend Verand. Liam was apologetic, but we’d saved people and taken down a crime lord who had access to a giant kett ship, so it was hard to be too mad at him.
We then went to the Nexus. I did an interview with Keri the reporter, and met with some Angaran representatives who’d arrived at the station for diplomatic talks with the Initiative.
Lexi was hiding out in the bar getting hammered. Something Peebee had said had rattled her – that she saw the crew as test subjects and didn’t really care about them. Evidently it wasn’t the first time such an accusation had been made. Regardless of her “bedside manner”, it was clear to me that she took her responsibility for the crew’s welfare seriously, so I told her Peebee was wrong. It seemed to lift her spirits.

Scott Ryder heads to Kadara:
We travelled to Kadara in the Govorkam system, to attempt to locate the Anagara Resistance fighter who’d betrayed the Moshae. The Resistance contact, a human named Reyes, revealed that Vehn was in the custody of Sloane Kelly, the former head of security on the Nexus who now led a group of exiles calling themselves the Outcasts. Sloane’s group controlled Katara’s Port but were facing opposition from a faction called the Collective.
I had little interest in the squabble, though I did speak to recruiters from both sides, and a few others, to get the lay of the land before heading to Outcast HQ. My chat with Sloane was short-and-not-at-all-sweet, as she was determined to execute Vehn and had zero interest in turning him over to the Resistance.
Thankfully Reyes had come up with an alternative, and provided a device which would help Vehn bypass Outcast security and escape, along with access codes for a maintenance duct leading to the prison cells. I got back in to Outcast HQ undetected, and questioned Vehn. He informed me that he’d hidden the transponder that could reveal the Archon’s whereabouts somewhere in the Badlands.
Along with Peebee and Drack, I went down to the slums so we could head out into the Badlands. Someone named Dr Nakamoto asked for a favour, before we stopped at the nightclub to check in with Reyes about a series of rumours regarding a murder spree we’d heard about. Reyes suspected the Roekaar were involved. He also confirmed Vehn had gotten away from the Outcasts.
At the club we also met an interesting person named Cassandra Verner, who seemed to be a bit of a Sloane Kelly fangirl. After our chat we headed for the gate so we could call in the Nomad and get to work.

Eos find the bodies. Why am I a completionist and why didn't i just complete them all at one time, because now I don't remember which ones I found and have to refind them all for the last one. Almost done with all the other EOS quests, still have to find the researches notes at various remnant sites, destroy the Kett base and then eventually get called back for the cool fight at site 2.

The majority are at or near the Monoliths and at the site where you fight that first big white beast can't remember its name, plus the one in the Kett building where you meet Drack. I assume you got the one at site 1 behind the building near the shuttle that's parked there.

As an aside to yesterday. Architect on eos. Playing as a shotgun adept. Pirhanna modded with vintage heat sink and reaction enhancers. Normally that’s a 3 shot gun. Recently improved my shotgun skill increasing clip size by 25%(god I wish the mods were clip size instead of spare anmo) now it’s like 6 shot. After upgrading a combat passive to heavy lifting for more clip size it’s like 7-8 shots. As long as you are relatively close it’s easy peasy to blow through 1/2 the legs health in one cycle on insanity. Singularity+boom+ 2 clips of the shotgun and it’s done. The face takes a bit more since it is further away and I haven’t taken charge yet.
Shotgun adept is a bit harder in andromeda than 2-3. The narrow corridor style made your crowd controls enough to stagger/control the enemies so you could close fairly easily on most maps. Here the enemies are really spread out making it harder to pull off. It’s why I love the expanding evolution of singularity it gets massive and most of the spread out enemies are effected. I prefer the challenge in andromeda. Though I want my bigger pool of powers and universal cooldowns back.
Uthior pistol with charged plasma mod. I don’t like the arc but it really fits the need for a big ass heavy blaster pistol vibe i wanted for my backup. Sadly this game has you disarmed in towns so I can’t go old west style into bars which is really the image I wanted from my blasted pistol. I need to see how it works on the sidewinder. But at least one bar I can go into armed even if you are still in non combat mode.

Lots of eavesdropping conversations I’m like, what a bitch. One of those, don’t just pay attention to how someone treats you. Pay attention to how they treat others. Like when you are on a date and they treat the server like shit. I think they were trying for that I’m a loner rebel vibe but she just came across as mean to Lexi.

Hi all, nice to see that others are still playing Andromeda. Though I'd share what I've been up to in the Andromeda Galaxy as well I'm on a Sara playthrough, my first Sara playthrough and my first insanity playthrough. It's been a challenge, and I can't count the number of times I've ended up dying a stupid death. Still, I managed to complete the Voeld Kett Base today, which surprisingly felt really good. I never did an insanity playthrough with the OT, but Andromeda's fun gameplay made me want to try it out. Gotta admit, Backlash and Flamethrower are some OP abilities. Can't count the number of times they've narrowly saved me from death. Seriously loving this playthrough, the added difficulty makes this a refreshing experience.

I’m glad you can get backlash to work. Mine breaks on the 2nd shot from random mooks maybe it’s better against observer style attacks because that’s what I keep hearing people talk about. I just retested it as others were loving backlash. I just can’t get it to work so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. And yes I hold the button down, which is a bit awkward on keyboard. I don’t think I’ve really given flamethrower a shot. So it’s damage is good enough to even feel OP. I may give that a shot at some point then.

I was finishing up eos. I thought I was done actually. Saw some random kett group and decided to kill them all. They had a remnant device. Sigh another find 3 device as random spots on the map quest. As I pretty much stop and kill every kett group I see how this quest took this long to spawn I don’t know. So many random quests on eos I forget when I haven’t done them.
I think im walking away from eos for a bit though. I need kadara at 90% to reduce the fusion mods flaws by 1/2. Not a fan of Reyes though so I kind of hate that quest chain. I hate slaone more though. Got to admit. Least objectionable leader is a good way for Kadara to go. It would feel off for it to be an actually good leader. From the stories at the nexus I thought they’d be largely sympathetic. Get to kadara and I’m like how the fuck did you psychotic nutbags get in the AI. Don’t we have any base level of screening. Though you do find a handful of decent people who got caught up in the mess.

I don’t think I’ve really given flamethrower a shot. So it’s damage is good enough to even feel OP. I may give that a shot at some point then. To be fair, Backlash starts off pretty weak. At first, it was only useful against observers. Anyone else and a few shots were all it took to break it. But upgrade it a few times with some passives and you can tank an entire minigun clip from one of the Anointed on Insanity. Also, it's really fun to watch your enemies kill themselves. As for Flamethrower, yeah I was surprsied as well. Honestly, I almost went for Invasion but decided to give a try with Flamethrower. No regrets. Flamethrower has wider range, stuns them, damages them, lasts longer and primes them for combo detonations. And it works really well in sticky situations. Down on shields and health and enemies closing in? Quickly use Flamethrower and catch them all in one sweep, then use Energy Drain to detonate them and regain your shields. Honestly, aside from some silly mistakes from my end I'm quite happy with my starting abilities. Coupled with a shotgun, you'll never have to worry about close combat again

Its funny because even in Odyssey now when I am pretty much finished and even without needing it I can't help but deviate all over the place to get wood and metal but in MEA I never found I needed to and I just found it a major distraction. Doing the Anthem Alpha testing I also couldn't help myself even in the limited time I had, I still had to stop and gather the resources. Didn't SofaJockey call this problem "Elfroot Syndrome"

Didn't SofaJockey call this problem "Elfroot Syndrome" Indeed. It really is a thing.

I pick up everything that isn't glued down. Every time. I can be in the final minutes of a game and still be picking up stuff because it's hard wired into my little PC's body that he/she much grab EVERYTHING! With Odyssey the resources are so damn scarce I am gathering them for NG+. But I can never run anywhere in a straight line because there is always a tree to get wood from or a rock to get metal from or a group of animals to get leather from. I am sure I have travelled twice the distance I needed to.

Not very heroic looking. They won't have that in the trailer of his heroic life.

After Voeld on my first PT I never mined a thing. I guess you don't need to mine anything, when you can buy the stuff from vendors. Forgot about that too. Plus you get minerals from completing Apex Missions and you can allocate Viability points that means you automatically get delivered resources as well.

For me, these quests often didn't trigger … not just on Eos, but Kadara, Elaadan, Voeld … all had issues. I have two or maybe three runs that reach end game at a lower level than the rest, because I eventually gave up on getting the device or body quests to trigger.
Another one, the Nomad EMP sabotage on Elaadan, I never knew it existed until the last three runs (of 14). On one run, it partially triggered, but the Nomad didn't break down. But I knew something was up, checked out the Wiki and so was aware and prepared for it, the last two runs. Given that I went about almost every square inch of Elaadan each time, it wasn't a matter of not being in the right place, just had to troll for it until it triggered. Played out both options with the "bad guy" … then went back to the run where it partially triggered and executed (so to speak) my preferred option for that side quest.
But back to the other quests … three runs, could not get them to trigger. Eventually, out of frustration, I just gave up. I think I ended up with level 62 or 63 at endgame, instead of the usual 65-67. My first two runs were the least efficient, both Ryders got to 71 or 72 by endgame, even though I didn't get all the side quests. My first run was on casual (or whatever easy is called that's not "narrative"), the next was normal, then hardcore … all the rest were on insanity. The focus on the first two was the story and opposite personalities, then upped the combat in subsequent runs, while I varied a few of the game choices each time. Eventually, I figured out a way to get the device side quests to reliably trigger on Elaadan … not sure I ever got there on Eos, Kadara or Voeld.
So what did I do today? I dumped my APEX/strike team loot into the next-to-last of my two Ryders, that have under 200K credits. Early on, I wasted a lot of my research points on stuff I didn't need/care about. So I dumped research loot into those runs, after I finished SP and kept playing MP. Eventually, all my Ryders ended up with enough research points to gain the blueprints for the desired level X weapons and armor. Will never actually use those points (absent a DLC). In SP, I eventually realized that I was wasting research points, so my last few runs, Ryder only needed a few research points to support level X blueprints … those Ryders had substantially fewer credits than the other Ryders, so I've been boosting their credits with APEX/strike team loot. Will come to nothing, but it keeps my loot box numbers well below the 200 limit.
And if a DLC does hit? All my Ryders will be ready for level X weapon and armor manufacture (plenty of required resources), as well as plenty of credits to buy level X mods. Probably enough to buy a condo on Havarl, with a nice view of the valley where I can snipe mutant fauna and Roekaar.
