So just met with Reyes...that is one smooth bastard...I like him already and when I say like him...I mean Soleil is making doe eyes at him (also known as me grinning from ear to ear just hearing the man talk), he's definitely going to be her romantic partner
Also been going around Voeld, established the outpost there and now I'm just hopping from planet to planet solving quests and stuff
speaking of which, do I need to finish certain quests before game's end or is it like Inquisition where you can pick up new ones even after it ends?

speaking of which, do I need to finish certain quests before game's end or is it like Inquisition where you can pick up new ones even after it ends? You will get a quest called "Contagian" on the Nexus and another called "Ryder's Family Secrets" (you've probably started that one already) and a third little task quest that's about getting ingredients for the bar on the Nexus... all of those need to be completed before you start into the final battle as one of the locations needed to complete them becomes unavailable at that point. As far as I know, they are the only ones. There is one quest that is totally bugged without mods (Running a Fever). A few others, according to others, will occasionally bug out, but can usually be done. (I personally haven't had any bug out other than the aforementioned Running a Fever).

for the family secrets one, I've already unlocked 2 memories, and I just got the prompt to head back to the Hyperion for the third and the ingredients one, just picked up the Kadara one...already have the one from the Milky Way and Havarl, so according to the wikia I almost got that one done

Do you have the names of the other quests the Wikia lists as having to be completed before the endgame? I can check them against my notes.
ETA: I found the list. For a couple of them, I don't think they are affected because they involve just the Nexus, not Hyperion; but I'd play it safe and go with the longer list. They did forget to put on Ryder's Family Secrets though (which is essential to complete before the endgame).

Yeah I've used the Cryo now and then but never found it tha teffective but it is kind of fun getting a stab freeze going whenever I have used i tbut I don' t tend to use it often. Imay be tempted during m ynext run considering the build I'm thinking of using to give the crypo gauntle tanother shot as it could work quite well with it. I'll need to try it for myself first though. Its very good in tight quarters and the odd "space dog" which gets to your skin. Just hit it with Remnant Fist(tm) and they're popsicles, easy to dispatch Yeah it is I have used it bfeore I just normally prefer to keep my enemies at range. My next Rydre I have planned though is going to be an infiltrator but with a couple of close range abilties instead of necessarily long range ones. Mostly this is to try something a little bit differen tfrom normal. Don't know if it will work but if it doesn't I can always respec. But that's the reason wh yfo rme Andromeda i ssti ll fun because of the range of abilities and weapons you can have even if our companions are kind of locked in.

Yeah I know that what I mean is you can't give them different abilities like for example give Cora something like Singularity or something. So in that sense they're locked in. I was reffering t othe fac ttha twhile you can choose your own abilities you can't choose those tha tyou rcompanions use only which companions to bring with you to compliment yours once you've recruited them.

I was reffering t othe fac ttha twhile you can choose your own abilities you can't choose those tha tyou rcompanions use only which companions to bring with you to compliment yours once you've recruited them. It's no different than ME2 or ME3. In both those games, the companions had 4 abilities each with 6 ranks within them. In ME2, one of those abilities didn't unlock at all until after you did their LM. In ME:A, it's just the last rank of each ability that doesn't unlock until after you do their LM. ME1 had 12 ranks in each ability, but once you removed the passives or weapons, they only had 4 to 6 active abilities and no choice of iteration at any given rank.
Although we could tell the companion to use a different weapon in ME1, I never found that feature too useful. Garrus, for example, would not start firing with his sniper unless I was in closer than I needed to be (so he could detect that he was in combat) and, on the flip-side. I'd often have Tali banging away with her shotgun at enemies that were at long (sniper) range. Annoyingly, Kaidan and Liara would both sometime pull out their sniper rifles... despite being untrainable in that weapon.
In ME2 and ME3, one of the 4 abilities the companions had was often an ammo ability... which in ME:A were bucketed into the last rank of one of their passive abilities (e.g. Cora gains Cryo ammo when you select it at Rank 6 of her Asari Commando tree.
All in all, I think the companions have about the same depth of abilities they had in ME2 and ME3, we just didn't have the power wheel in order to tell them exactly when to use each ability. I didn't miss that as much as I originally thought I would; but it also wouldn't break my heart if they brought the power wheel back.

So just crafted a Cryo Gauntlet and also a PAW. Unicephalon 40-D what augmentations do you put on yours, pretty sure I saw you carrying one in some pics? I just whacked an Auto-fire, Bio-Converter and 3 KC's on it. KC's, Bio-Converter and something that suits. I usually use it only for stripping shields in SP and because the balance is different its a monster in MP. Does it auto-fire normally. did I waste the auto-fire mod on it?

alright so...Reyes? One smooth guy... (I love him )
Also shameless flirting...or whatever Sol counts as flirting (honestly she might be just as bad as Luna ) Reyes: it's not about my ex of course Soleil: uh-huh, 'course not Reyes: are you jealous? Soleil: no I'm not! Reyes: Soleil: *grumbles*
So yeah, been working quests left and right (mostly cleaning up some things on Eos, increasing it's viability to 100% ) and Sol has been flirting with the guy up above ^ Tomorrow we'll be tracking down Reyes precious shipment and take care of one of his exes...should be fun I've also unlocked Elaaden and the location of the Turian ark, or something close to it I still need to head back to Voeld for the Asari ark thingy as well Also I settled things between Kallo and Gil, sided with Kallo but he came around and decided to work together with Gil, so that's good (though something tells me I missed that hidden thingy on the ship...hm, may need to talk to Kallo or Suvi some more me thinks)
honestly, something tells me this game is as confusing with questing as Inquisition was solve one quest and get two back, solve those two and get four...honestly it's like trying to kill a hydra
but yeah, now that I've gotten over the initial hurdle, Andromeda is quite a lot of fun, confusing (since it's the first time I'm actually playing the game for real) but fun

but yeah, now that I've gotten over the initial hurdle, Andromeda is quite a lot of fun, confusing (since it's the first time I'm actually playing the game for real) but fun I have played it 15 times before this PT and the first couple of times is always confusing but even going back after an extended break (like I just had) I have struggled a bit with what order to do the quests in. Essentially just follow the planet order: EOS, Havarl, Voeld return to EOS, get Contagio, Three Sabers form The Nexus and Safe Travels from Aya, then Kadara then the Loyalty quests you have and then Elaaden and H-047c is what I do. and complete everything you can on a planet. Return to The Nexus and Aya regularly or whenever the game requires you too, Kerri's interviews are a good prompt for this I find. On the actual planets don't rush to do the vaults and Monoliths, try and get everything else done first. The game can be painful in terms of requiring you to go back to The tempest to make a video call to someone but that often leads to a relevant quest being added. It is a fun game and didn't deserve the amount of crap it got especially after the patching. It just isn't MET and I think that's what people unfairly expected. EDIT: one tip, do Elaaden and The Turian ark before H-047c and if you look up on H-047c you'll get a surprise sighting. Someone please correct me if I have that wrong.

So yesterday lots of Kadara, cleared all the quests including adding Jaal and recruiting another resistance fighter, getting drunk at Sloane's party thanks to Umi's special concoction for answering the three questions correctly. Installed Reyes as Kadara's Leader, activated The Vault and today will fight Ol' Skinner and set up the communications dish. Looking fward to giving the PAW a run and the Cryo Gauntlet. Then to Elaaden which is one of my favourite planets via Aya and to go back and give Marikko the bad news and will definitely lie to him. Pic's I really enjoy killing the B^tch: Helped Crux out: Let poor Aunty Ruth die: Bought some beer for Kesh: Put Reyes in charge: View from the Outpost:

alright so...Reyes? One smooth guy... (I love him )
Also shameless flirting...or whatever Sol counts as flirting (honestly she might be just as bad as Luna ) Reyes: it's not about my ex of course Soleil: uh-huh, 'course not Reyes: are you jealous? Soleil: no I'm not! Reyes: Soleil: *grumbles*
So yeah, been working quests left and right (mostly cleaning up some things on Eos, increasing it's viability to 100% ) and Sol has been flirting with the guy up above ^ Tomorrow we'll be tracking down Reyes precious shipment and take care of one of his exes...should be fun I've also unlocked Elaaden and the location of the Turian ark, or something close to it I still need to head back to Voeld for the Asari ark thingy as well Also I settled things between Kallo and Gil, sided with Kallo but he came around and decided to work together with Gil, so that's good (though something tells me I missed that hidden thingy on the ship...hm, may need to talk to Kallo or Suvi some more me thinks)
honestly, something tells me this game is as confusing with questing as Inquisition was solve one quest and get two back, solve those two and get four...honestly it's like trying to kill a hydra
but yeah, now that I've gotten over the initial hurdle, Andromeda is quite a lot of fun, confusing (since it's the first time I'm actually playing the game for real) but fun I have played it 15 times before this PT and the first couple of times is always confusing but even going back after an extended break (like I just had) I have struggled a bit with what order to do the quests in. Yeah usually after I take a break I usually follow a pattern when coming bac kinto a pattern or series in just following the story must admit though I am looking forward t ogetting back into MEA myself but I'm going to be doing a full ME run in that I'l go through the trilogy first then MEA. Lookin gforward to it bu tneed t ofinish my DAI playthrough first shouldn' t be too much longer eseeing as I just killed the 3 Emprise dragons

I don't have much to add to the thread, at the moment; but it's cool to see all of you active in this thread again. It's like a flashback to some "good ole days".
I may jump back into my last Scott PT at some point. He's still chilling on Voeld outside of Techiix, having just taken out the base. IIRC, I had a few side quests and the vault to finish before tackling the most important quest.
I see I missed some build discussion. There are so many ways to play. The strongest builds incorporate at least one active tech skill with maxed out tech passives. Life Support makes you essentially immortal.
Weapon damage is still king, as with all previous ME games. That said, using the Fusion Mod of Adrenaline to chain combos without cooldowns is essentially as good as an optimized gun specialist.
Some of the most fun I've had with combo builds gave been: Sentinel (Lance/Annihilation/Energy Drain) Sentinel (Incinerate/Assault Turret/Energy Drain) Vanguard (Charge/Annihilation/Energy Drain)
If I'm playing a shooter, there's only one build that interests me: Soldier (Invasion/Tactical Cloak/Turbocharge)
With the above Soldier, Invasion can be swapped for something different like Assault Turret; but Invasion is the game's ultimate debuffer.

I'm pathfinder Rage Demon, and this turns out to be my favourite thread on the Mass Effet board. LadyofNemesis : Well, I need to pester you again. Is Soleil's outfit simply the default female underwear modded into a casual outfit or a completely new one? I haven't seen the MEA underwear yet, as I decided for my first Ryder not to drag the LI into bed. Unicephalon 40-D : Ah, now I understand what P.A.W. siphon is about. Thought it was cat meme. Oh... and looking MEA multiplayer stuff up in the Wiki, are those purple "concussive" style weapons with their insane AOE damage stats meant to create a post-mortem explosion? That would be insane.
Thanks for confirming my assumption about the Vakarsh not dropping. Since I got a mod which makes Lab technicians yield more resarch data (of all types ), I finally had enough Heleus RD to spent some on melee weapons.
Planned a return to Eos and asked some angaran for a blueprint for a light multi-shot sniper rifle. The translator must have been bugged, as he handed Ryder what turned out to be a pistol (Ushior). A bit low on ammo reserve, but low recoil, no upward itching and otherwise very unhealthy for Kett heads. Some time ago, I said that I never tried to melee an Eiroch intentionally. Well, there is always a first time. When kicking stones into some kett turbines, I ran into two Kett-Kongs (and a handful of Spitbugs). Ushior ammo long gone, Hurricane empty as well. About one magazine worth of plasma for the Zalkin was all I had left. Spent that on one of the Kett-Kongs and turned on my Warp-Field, used Throw and Lift to splatter the two next best spit bugs (as I assumed those abilites to be useless against the Kongs) and went "chaaaaarge!" in, with the warp field splatting the remaining arknids along the way (That also never gets old ). Planned to run and jump around the Kongs until warp field would whittle them down, but it wasn't quite necessary. Drack went to bomb and hammer one of the Kongs, and the new fire sword took care of the other just well (and a Taurg that wandered into the mess).
In terms of companions/party/squad members... well, while not being able to control their abilities isn't sooo great (except for Vetra, as she mostly buffs herself), their scripts tend to handle them rather well for me. I especially like that we now got a real Charge-Nova vanguard and two characters who can go in close to flush enemies out of cover and into my crosshairs. The only competition from the MET in that department, at least according to my experience, would be ME2's version of Kasumi (AAA Wrex/Grunt don't count here). Well, Kasumi is just ME's Most Awesome Hoodlum(TM) anyway.
Two things I would like to change is default companion weapons though (Can this be modded?). On a minor note, as Cora tends to stick to the party (for shield boost?) after executing a Charge-Nova, doing potshots, modding her shotgun to fire a single projectile like the Crusader (or make her switch between single and multi depending on range, if possible) might be good. And then there's Vetra. I really like her as a character, but in terms of damage, she appears to be a bit lackluster (or I'm just using her wrongly?). Sometimes, her Cyclone just finishes spinning up and discharging the usual "blue bolt storm" into neverland since the last enemy just dropped, especially if heavy hitters like Cora/Drack are around. I would like to give her something that does not need to spin up (i.e. a Revenant) or hacking her Cyclone. (Come to think of it, why did MEA not include the Phaeston? )
One last thing... I've taken my first Sara (tech stuff) out again to run a few tests with Cryo Beam + Toorc Remnant Icefist and noticed something odd: I know that (unlike in the MET) Energy Drain also works on all targets regardless of shields/being synthetic, but could it be that it also restores shields when just hitting empty ground?

You made me laugh so much!!!! "Pathfinder Rage Demon", PAW = Cat meme, "Kett-Kongs" And "Kasumi is just ME's Most Awesome Hoodlum(TM) anyway", was so annoyed you couldn't romance her!!!!!! I have always found Cora and Drack to be my best team and as you mentioned what I like is that they harass the enemy whereas Jaal for example sometimes seems to go MIA.

KC's, Bio-Converter and something that suits. I usually use it only for stripping shields in SP and because the balance is different its a monster in MP. Does it auto-fire normally. did I waste the auto-fire mod on it? Yes its a beam which you point at the target and it'll eat shields+health so you may want to redo the PAW. +25 Disruptor mod + Disruptor ammo = shields gone from Progenitor too.

Yes, so when you hit the final bullet to the weak point (eg. head or such), you'll get massive area biotic explosion which'll whirl other guys away or even can kill them. Love it

Buckeldemon it's like Hanako Ikezawa says, it's modded from the athletic wear, just removing the headphones, removing the Blasto logo and changing the volus necklace into an AI (Andromeda Initiative) one link Plain Athletic wear (AI necklace included in that one) link Headphones be gone (to remove the headphones) also, as I understand they don't use underwear in this game, most of the romances that have sex scenes are fully nude
dazk thanks for the correct order (at least I had the Havarl + Voeld order right ) and the tips I'm the type of person who restarts several times in a game before being content with what I have (even if I've nearly finished the game (don't ask, it's just something I do)
I also keep forgetting to head back to the Tempest every once in a while, so sometimes character dialogues just cue up... that's...yeah, it's annoying when certain dialogues are linked to a certain mission, makes me miss things

I was able to have some real good fun wit hthat trio of powers sending things flying. Though I'l admit an ybuild I've had where I've used Biotic charge in has been good as well.I can't deny it I just love wielding biotics even in the trilogy I have a lot of fun with them. I tfeels a lot like I'm playing a high tech mage and I love playing mages in DA. But as yo usaid ther's so many different ways the ME games can be played it's one of the things that keeps me coming bac kto it and why I'm coming back to it again soon to do a new playthrough.
