Oh, Out of Gas, how you annoyed me as quest. The first time I ran into that quest, I thought my Nomad (and hence the game) was broken. Until I noticed that Ryder was actually commenting about the Nomad acting weird. I think I left the guy be once, but killed him every other time. The planet is hazardous enough without some other asshole sabotaging and killing people for their stuff. I love all the additional dialogue you get if you turn down his offer to help and stay in the nomad for awhile before striking out on foot.

Been doing more quests left and right, solved problems, explored some places...got a lot less done then I'd hoped but hey, Soleil got herself a date I loved doing Reyes' quests on Kadara, they seem so...I dunno, natural? Even though I've already been slightly spoiled with who Reyes actually is, I like him
Reyes: *making promises left and right* Soleil: I do hope you're going to keep some of them Reyes: welll...*holds up bottle of whiskey* share a drink? Soleil: sure I like the head canon that Reyes learned from Umi (the bartender at Kralla's Song) that whiskey is Sol's favorite beverage (after all, whiskey is the drink Ryder orders from her when they ask her for a drink) the mission was very sweet imo. especially the ending
Soleil: why'd you come to Andromeda Reyes? Reyes: to be someone... Soleil: ...you are someone to me Reyes: *cups her face* I'm starting to think that kiss wasn't just a distraction
me: daww
a few screenshots from the dateTomorrow I'm going to finish up a few quests on Kadara and then (finally) head over to Voeld to search for the Asari ark I've also been given leads on the Turian ark, and some other companion quests as well...so much left to do I already have the trail to find the Archon's ship, but I'm going to wait with that a bit and thin out quests in my journal first

I was not a fan of that scene with Reyes. Not just because of him, but because it is yet another scene that forced me to have my character be someone who drinks alcohol. And unlike some where it is possible to skip (even though you’re punished for it and/or seem like a jerk) this one was mandatory is you wanted to colonize Kadara.

I literally clear the journal before heading to the Archon's ship as once you do it I just want to get on with finishing the game. FYI when you do the first trip to Meridian (Khi Tisara) there is a hidden room with a DA easter egg in it and another Easter Egg in the system when you leave there that Suvi will prompt you with an "anomaly detected" warning. You can't go back and do it so I thought I'd warn you. You definitely want to find the arks before doing the Archon's ship. Location of Secret Room if you want to know it in spoiler: You need to look down for a ledge to jump on to

So yesterday more roaming, driving, shooting and killing with a little bit of puzzling on Elaaden. Finished the random quest to blow up the shuttle and its explosives, think I may have had a glitch with little mouse as I got enough data pads but then I got another one that SAM gave his first message about finding more rather than telling me a NAV point. Scanned some diseased bodies and got the NAV point, found all the medical supplies, found the unmarked vault in the south and got me a Data Core and activated the vault to finish and that finished the data core quest. After such long time that vault was quite confusing. Scanned some edible plants and rocks, told Isabelle to stay if she wanted to, found an artefact for Avelja, found POC and completed the shutting down the Data Core mission. Also took down Barrett's base but didn't give him the supplies. Next think I'll do the Flophouse mission and then The Krogan Colony stuff. Pic's Got what I think are the two funniest PB and Drack conversations about PB's smudge on her face and her parents Used some Cobras on shuttle drops of troops today to speed stuff up, If you fire at the shuttle and hit it before the troops jump out it kills them all!!!! I like The Elaaden Vault Secret Room in The Vault with the data core, so much data!!!!

Drizzt is a legend, have read every Forgotten Realms book and Drizzt was my favourite character for a long time. Was so awesome when you accidentally discover him wandering in one of the earlier games eith BG or IWD can't remember. Scanned and killed me some spit bugs yesterday, was bizarre they wre hanging with a Kaerkan and were non-hostile till Drack attacked them!!!!! : Drizzt pops up in BG as far as I recall. And BG:SoA has a party of over-powered goons that teleport in and demand his stuff back if you managed to kill and loot him in the first game. Also, how did you manage to scan them with a melee party member? When I had Cora around, she always splatter'd the critters before I could get close. Nice to see this thread lively! Re: Alec's appearance: More accurately, when you play as Sara the game gives you the choice between picking the default Alec or inheriting a default male preset that corresponds the default female preset you chose to use as the base for your Sara. So default female 5 preset gives you default male 5. To this male preset the game then adds a wrinkled person's skin texture and eyes that are same colour as your Sara's. I wasn't particularly impressed by the default presets and wished the game would have just acted like it did with Scott: Alec could have inherited Scott's looks but added Alec's hairdo and wrinkled skin texture like he did when you played Scott. Good that the scene is working as intended with you. As for me, the ship makes me think of an axolotl head without the outer gills so the ominous effect is somewhat downcut. I had the same problem with batarians in the original trilogy. During Garrus's recruitment mission I remember vividly meeting sergeant Cathka and thinking "oh my god, that's a guinea pig wearing an american football helmet." I've got one of those with the volus. They remind me of moles. The first time the Nomad broke down for me the worm was rather close, so I thought it was casting the EMP. I sensed a "emerge from below" insta-kill ala ME1 Thresher Maws, so I panicked and did a fast travel far, far away. Only by stumbling over it on the wiki I noticed that it was just a feisty little scavenger. TBH I kind of think of Lanc e as Warp from the trilogy really and pretty much jus ttreat it the same. I tdoes kind of work if yo udo that. Just as Pull is the same as lift it's just a different name now. Warp = Debuffing, Damage over Time, Initial damage, Tracking. Lance = Instashot damage, Straight line to target. I like warp more, lov it in MP which has it. Using "MP powers in SP" -mod on PC, one can get and see how useful Warp really is compared to some other skills. I dunno why it didnt came into SP... (maybe a deadline issue or such). Now, take Invasion, Snap freeze from MP and combine those with Warp; you'll have massive debuff + stopping ability and can juggernaut towards fast. So the resistance debuff from MP Warp and Invasion stacks? *Mwahaha!* My original thought was that they removed Warp from SP for that very reason. Wait, can someone confirm if Warp and Overload debuffs stack in ME1? I always wondered about that. Ah, thanks. That makes sense. I like that it is more reactive then, let's say DA2. If one takes the iconic/default female Hawke, you got three different eye colours (Carver/Leandra/Gamlen with darker blue-grey, Bethany with brown and [Marian] with ice blue). And that's not even getting into having green-eyed red head. For the darker-skinned Hawke presets it does not matter as much (everyone gets brown), but most of the fitting Bethanys/Leandras have a strange combination of odd make-up choices. Who is that? I'm not particularly knowlegdeable about fantasy. The only other rangers I know are Aragorn and Sylvanas Windrunner (Shindu fallah nah!). I heard of a guy with the un-pronounceable name Drizzt Do'Urden. Thanks. I actually think about giving that face to one of my "canon" Shepards. The first (Infiltrator) always had some asian or hispanic vibes with green eyes, but she did not carry over well into 2 and 3, while biotic rifle girl used the ME default female face, as I liked it back in the day. You did have that Trevelyan become a Necromancer, didn't you? I only ever created one Trevelyan to explore dual-wielding a bit, so it did not went far. Kathrina Trevelyan, aptly named for Katherine "Kathrina" Morgan Steiner-Davion of BattleTech. Don't ask about the name background. It would take a rundown of two noble families to expalin that. As for her character: "I don't want him neutral, I want him dead. I want you to destroy my brother and everyone that follows him. Then I want you to round up everyone that supports him and make an example of them, too!" *Mwahahaha!*
Sorry for spoiling the bag. Spit bugs do as their name implies. Six legs and a large round back with hair-things sticking out. In DA, I gladly fireball spiders and roll them on their backs, legs in the air, but I kinda like the Spit bugs. Don't ask me why. I had no idea in the beginning, besides the impression that MEA biotics appeared to be focused more on a Vanguard playstyle instead of Adept, so I started out with Throw/Lift combo since I thought that it would be more useful in here than for MET (too many protected enemies around which just shrug telekinetics off) and messing around with Singularity as of now. I cannot get the hang of Lance. I know it is supposed to be awesome, but 1) I don't want to go for "shield-powered"-style abilites to be able to spam it and 2) I'm apparently too dumb to hit someone with it. It does not seem to "track". I can only comment on Infiltrator, due to "see-through-cover", but I'm single-minded, so just don't listen to me... Two words: Either "Oh, crap!"or "Well, shit!". Try explaining a blond Hawke in a family of raven haired siblings Well, Leandra and Gamlen are grey and Malcolm is never seen in person, so it could be from either, possibly ignoring real-life rules about genetics. But DA genetics are weird/"magic" anyway, else we would not have the mess called elf-bloodedness. It is one of the things I would want to get retconned or amended within universe ("If mages need more magic to pass on their traits, what happens when Solas removes his veil?" ). I don't necessarily want half-races, but I think a quota of 70% chance of child being fully human vs. 30% chance of fully elven would have been less damning but still pretty dramatic compare to the 100% human vs. 0% elf quota. This way, Alistair's unique background would have still been possible, but there would be less reason to force elves to isolate, else face eventual extinction. And then the Chantry (or Chantry fans) complaining about elves being isolationist. /endrant I did not play it yet. Have to get to finish Kotor first. I just heard of the rather "infamous" Bishop. A CE ranger... I guess NWN does not follow D&D rules. On the other hand, I like Velanna and if people are not dimissing her as an insane serial killer outright, she also gets dumped into CE territory. Humans usually never make into canon in DA for me (Hawke doesn't count). Though I have two worldstates for DAO, with the only options set in stone are that one of them is male, non-andrastian and romances Morrigan and the other one is a grumpy female elf mage - which does not mean she cannot be Dalish. The Morrigan lover is the one I tend to use for DAI, because of the content about Morrigan and her son. If - if - I ever get to play a faithful Inq (I honestly cannot play faithful andrastian or believers close to real-world religions in general), it will probably be "secondary canon" and a Trevelyan. Does the Overload primer last for some time? I never pulled off those Overload/Electrical combos in the MET. I guess I was too slow or should have used party member abilites for that. *Ryder activates Annihilation Field* *Challyrion used pounce* *A-Field lifted Challyrion into the air* *Ryder used Throw and caused boom* *This is very effective* *Challyrion fainted*
Depends on what those four moves are. As a child, I often had things like Bubble, Watergun, Hydropump, Surf on a single 'mon. When replaying Gen. I/II a few years ago, it was more like Icebeam, Thunderbolt, Surf, Confusion Ray on a Lanturn. #Stromfisch #SparkFish Record of the Invictor: *examines how a turian's dermal armor can be removed*
Vetra, paraphrased: "Ok. I'm gonna kill this guy!" Well we know that in modern day somrtimes people do change their hair colour but how to make that possible in a medieval setting seemsa bit strange but I guess the only way is magic. Don't know if "colours" derived from plants could do that. But then, we still have Fenris. I got two pet theories: 1) Danarius preferred white hair, because it is spooky unnatural, so he just went *ding* and Fenris turned grey. Second theory about is far more mundane: People can have their hair turn grey quickly in real life as well due to physical or emotional stress and Fenris had plenty of both.
In one "The World of Thedas" books it is also mentioned that for some mages, they show their first traces by spontaneouly switching eye colour, so I guess hair is possible as well. Unlike what Chantry and Templars want us to believe, not all mages start out by blowing stuff up. Yeah, I can definitely see that point. On the other hand, I would have preferred one or two more slots, perhaps especially for these "sustained" abilites like Remnant VI or the Assault turret. Perhaps also for the ammo/energy cell based combat abilites. Right now, they feel like "use the ammo, then switch to seomething else". Besides... my impression was that these are not too popular anyway. Being forced to side with one gang annoyed me more in the overall scheme of things (Who wants to live on MEA's Mos Eisley?), but I can see your point. Drinking scenes haven been a bit... infaltionary in the lastest BW games. I don't know your reasoning, but I got harrassed quite a bit for not taking the next best (or any, actually) opportunity to get drunk back in school days. I never found anything alcoholic that I like, so *shrugs shoulders*. I don't care about booze at best and despise what drunkyards can get away with at times. And if it is something I cannot comprehend, I have a hard(er) time immersing myself - for me this also applies to certain religious ways. I cannot, for the hate of the Maker, play andrastians realistically. Or possibly abrahamitic worshippers as well.
Now... now I want some character who never drinks standard beverages but prefers something non-alcoholic that everybody else hates, like a herbal mixture or something made form a very special fruit, non-fermented. Could imagine Vorn to go this way, after what he did with that... fruit.

If you want there are plenty of disgusting concoctions you can discover in MEA but not that you have to imbibe. On Kadara at the place near Dr. Nakamoto there are cannisters of soup you can scan on the shelves that are fermented Drall pincers or something like that, in one of the bases in the quest where you have to find Big Taron or someone and there is Bootleg Alcohol, I can't remember the ingredients but SAM advises against drinking it when you scan it!!! Ducks off to see if I can find the images. Returns Non-Hostile Aadhi Gotta be careful what you drink in MEA or you can end up being so incapacitated you drink like this:

I managed to nab my spitbug scan and complete the scan Andromeda wildlife task during it. As yet another non-drinker I wouldn't be averse to having our next obligatory Bioware drinking scene have us drink something plainly weird or disgusting(ly healthy) instead of alcohol - though we did have Dutch's concoctions and I very much enjoyed Dutch and Anan's questline. I don't need my characters to share all my dietary preferences and restrictions because if so, my characters couldn't for example enjoy hot cocoa! If I'm willing to eat meat seasoned using beer or wine and cakes moistened with liquer, my character having a glass or two for social reasons can be forgiven, that said I'll probably never make character who is big on drinking.

I've also had some playthroughs where much of the wild life has been non-hostile and keep hoping that it was something that was supposed to be tied to how many I avoided rather than shot during the early going of the game (when I actually needed their chitin and scales for crafting). If that is a trigger, then it's probably bugged since my data are, so far, too inconsistent for an actual conclusion to be reached on that.

Re: very special fruit: that would probably end like Suvi and licking Andromeda rocks, a visit to doctor Lexi. That tweaks a question about Vetra's mission... Have you ever been able to actually scan the Hydra using the surveillance camera (in order to be able to get a choice to sabotage it in some way? Whenever I do this mission, I can't get a scan on the hydra and I'm wondering if it's because I've already scanned a hydra somewhere else or if it's a particular and persistent bug in my games with that quest.

And unlike some where it is possible to skip (even though you’re punished for it and/or seem like a jerk) this one was mandatory is you wanted to colonize Kadara. I'm not a fan of the being forced to do something myself either, so I see your point
for example, irl. I don't drink alcohol (don't like the taste) and I'm not religious most -if not all- characters in a Bioware game seem to drink at least one mandatory glass of alcohol in a game (though the DA protagonists seem to luck out on that) and most of them are religious in one way or another, sure you can role-play them as not being religious, both Shepard and Ryder can confirm or deny they are religious to Ashley and Suvi respectively most DA characters are Andrastian ('specially if they're human), only the Inquisitor can say they don't believe or believe otherwise, and even then they throw around the infamous "by the Maker" line every now and then so yeah, I can see your point about forcing certain aspects on player characters
However, I do like Reyes as a character, sure he's not a saint like most characters I romance...(actually scratch that, most of them have blood on their hands in more ways then one ) but I like him, though chances are the next time I play I'll romance someone else...I still have my sights set on either a Vetra or Jaal romance...we'll see if I accomplish that

I also had trouble scanning those things, but if everything else fails, you should be able to do it during Vetra's loyalty mission: it offers a chance to scan Adhis, Arknids, Charyllions, an Eiroch, and Spitbugs, but makes it easier than trying it in the wild. I managed to nab my spitbug scan and complete the scan Andromeda wildlife task during it. [•••] That tweaks a question about Vetra's mission... Sorry, can't help you with that. I've only played through that mission once, and my only surviving video clip of it was of the Menagerie fight part. My second playthrough and Sara haven't gotten that far yet.

Could imagine Vorn to go this way, after what he did with that... fruit. Hi swhite hair could habve been caused by whatever treatment Danarius put him through t o give him wis white markings after all Fenris even said he doesn't know how he got those markings he only knows that Danarius forced them on him.

Merrill in DA2 has something that looks like nail polish on both her hands and feet...
just now I found on Wikipedia that as old as 3000BC the Chinese (who else?) had something akin to nail polish, as well as Egyptians using henna to color their nails it's quite fun how you go and look for such things when you get curious

Did some quests on Kadara and Voeld today, still a long ways off fixing both planets, but we're slowly getting there Cora found a lead on the Asari ark, which we found after a lot of trials and I have to say...that mission was a bit creepy, almost as creepy as the Ardat-Yakshi monastery back in ME3...only with less banshees and more kett, banshees are creepier though, just saying
Soleil, Cora and PeeBee rescued the ark and it's inhabitants, though we also learned a disturbing truth about the acting Pathfinder Sarissa
as someone who values telling and honoring the truth, I felt it only right to strip Sarissa of her position and grant it to Vedaria instead,
sure the girl might be a rookie, but so was Soleil, and she turned out just fine
tomorrow I'm going to clean up some more quests on Kadara and Voeld, with a bit of luck I might be able to finish up one of the outposts on either planet I'm also going to help Vetra with her quest, seeing as we're currently in the area anyway, and also finish up Jaal's personal quest
also, just going to throw it out there...but I think I'm going to romance Jaal in my next playthrough,
I never romanced any of the aliens back in the trilogy (with the exception of Liara on my only male Shep who never made it past the ending of the first game), so it might be fun plus, I love how affectionate he is...he seems like someone who loves hugging, and I love hugging

still a bit bummed with the same face syndrome some of the aliens seem to have ('specially prominent in the Asari and Angara...would've liked some diversity in face shapes)

Plus the fact the other asari there all look at her as she looks around before realizing it's her. And yeah, Vederia is one of my favorite characters in the game. I would love to see her as a companion (and nonsexual LI).

When you first enter you hear Cora being like a mentor to her in a sweet exchange. Then she'll show up in a couple of the main quest cutscenes with any other Pathfinders you have at that point.

I guess it just depends on how you want to play it, I have chosen Sarissa and kept the secret like in this PT on the promise of not rocking the boat and her experience being invaluable. I have kept Sarissa for her leadership and experience (based on Ryder having very little) and made her told the Asari what happened as they "needed to know the truth". It kind of works always. There are some rally good choice moments like that in MEA where none are "right" but you get to make a choice based on your Ryder and your play style. If you go to H-047c to do Vetra's LM without doing the step to find Ark Natanus on Elaaden (plus maybe finding Ark Natanus) you'll miss out on a minor unique view in space from the surface of H-047c.

Got lots done yesterday on Elaaden but still didn't get to the Krogan colony yet.
Solved the water mafia issue, got a Scav to take lexi's serum, finished the little mouse quest, solved the diseased bodies quest, cleared the Flophouse, always one of my favourite missions from a combat perspective, got the rescue the crashed ship mission and did that. Got the final data cache scan and cleared that vault. Still haven't come across Nora and her broken thruster????
No pic's FRAPS had one of those days where it just decided not to work!!!
