So another PT of MEA done and dusted and i enjoyed as mush as all the others if not a little bit more this time around due the nostalgia of it's 6th anniversary. I hate comparing games, I have played few I disliked entirely and nearly all have had some faults. MEA certainly at release was a mess graphically and with bugs but even my first PT I was drawn in by the wonder of exploring Andromeda, Heleus and the planets and maps all of which are beautiful. I love the combat but the number of encounters were too many and the random generated quests could be painful as well as some of the gameplay which got repetitive. The menu's continue to be a mess and I imagine for new players they are still as confusing as I found them that very first, second and probably third PT. The crew and other NPC's are for the most part I think great, most of the LM's are really good. The overall story I think is good, I would have liked them to introduce Scott into the game earlier either as a squad mate or in a few other quests as the protagonist rather than just have the game hijack you into playing him at the end. There so many questions that need answering and that interaction at the end of the game with the specialist re the Quarian Ark gets me every time in terms of "where is the DLC". So anyway to yesterday, returned to Khi Tasira, morphed into Scott saved Sara, got kidnapped by the Archon and headed to Meridian Actual. Game crashed for me 3 times at the entry into Meridian, once with Mods installed and then once with FMM still open, not sure if that was an issue even though I launched the game from the EA App. Then the fourth time I launched it from the .exe, file and with EA closed and the background Services shut down from the Task Manager. That worked and I noticed it did the whole drama of redoing the shaders etc. so I wonder if the EA App somehow remembers all that stuff from the MODS unless you close it down. Anyway the game worked, I got to the first auto-save and shut everything down and relaunched with the MODS installed. I love the end combat with all the banter from NPC's like Reyes, Evfra, Kalinda, the Krogan Scouts, the science team etc.. Not to mention the cinematics and combat and how pretty it all is. Took the Archon down after killing what seemed like a million Remnant and Kett at the start. I cheesed some of the Ascendant's and their orbs by throwing Cobras at them. If you time it and hit close to the orb when it is in front of them it wipes out the shield and does damage.  Captain Dunn survived and I made The Moshae the Ambassador for the 23rd time. it was weird talking to each crew member except Drack and Gill as well as Reyes having romanced them all. Went back to Habitat 7 for the ceremony, visited Keri and Drack on The Nexus and called it a day. I have some planet quests to clean up, If I cannot decide what to start today I may do that as I wont have a lot of time. At this stage taking my 2nd recreated Warden (Noble, Human Rogue) from DAO to DA2 is the prime candidate. To all that read and liked my PT thanks, I know the game is old news now and I just wish the game had been better released and thus better received at launch. It for me really is a really fun and enjoyable game. Pic's Eos from the big rock bridge and Liam's romance mission Captain Dunn and Scott The battle for Meridian and Meridian The Archon, talks the talk but couldn't walk the walk Sara pic's, this maybe my new favourite Sara, my first Insanity run Sara was my favourite she was cute and fitted the Sara casual emotional role well. This Sara I thought was really beautiful but in a kind of understated way and suited the mostly casual/emotional and also logical mould really well.     Yeah I'm thinkin gof doing another playthrough once I complete my next Midnight Suns run. As atm I'm thinking finish off Forspoken and Hogwarts then g oback to the ME trilogy t ofinish the playthrough of that tha tI hav eon the go then pla yMidnight Suns as hopefully all the DLC will be out by then and hopefully afte rtha t start a nwe run of this and finish off my active DAI playthrough assuming I remember where I left that. Once I'v efinished my active on ethen start a full proper Dragon Age or Mass Effect run possibl yboth. I'v ealmost finished Forspoken thoug ha sI'v eonly got a coupl eo fchaptres left as I'm on Chapte r11 now. But I will likely com eback and play Forspoken again late rin the year t oexperience it's DLC given that releases end o fMay but I need th ediscf spac efor othe rthings righ tnow so wil be removin i twhen I'm done. Mostly because I wantto try the Leg oSkywalker game and mayb efinall yrtying my hand at AC Oddysey a swell given that's been sitting in my backlog for I don't know how long. I'll probabl yb ethrowing in a little gol fand Fifa alon gth ewa yas well as I wanjtto get my career mode underwa ythere and continue m ycareers on Fifa too. That's the main reason why I want to finish Forspoken first as I know AC Oddysey and Forspoken roughly take up the same amount of disc space as they're both 100gb games. I think tha tand throw in som eXcom an dDivinity Origina lSin along with Midnight Suns for a little turn based action fun and I think I'll be bus yenough for the next little while. Edi tforgot to mention I also plan to d oa playthrough or 2 of HZD as well so yeah plenty to keep m ebusy with a lthis and visitin gAloy's world again.

There isn't a ton of options for power combos so it's mostly gunplay gameplay. I realize the only thing I want from NG+ is the research points. I ended up scrapping (almost) everything in the inventory except the fusion mods and some select armor pieces.

Yeah I kind o fenjoyed Soldier on the originals fo rwhen I wanted t odo jus ta straightforwasrd weapon build but given the changes to ME1 fo rthe LE it's prett ymuc hmad eth esoldier class pointless really given you can use an yweapon on an yclass now. I d othin kfo rthe mos tpart the LE's positives outweigh the negatives but tha ti sdefinitel yone of the LE's negatives and a little bit of a mistake imo.

Research points, resources to avoid mining and yeah augmentations and Mods are the only thing I keep except for my favourite armour and weapons. Soldier can be fun, as I said above I liked playing with Flak Cannon or Concussive Shot combined with Adrenaline Rush and Tactical Cloak. You could cloak and with the right passives use Adrenaline Rush and pretty much take down a Destroyer before it knew where you were.

For my NG+, my Ryder touched down on EOS for the first time, but not before her squad got a respecc in the medical lab.
Cora - Focus on melee combat and health regeneration AND no points in Biotic Charge. This Cora will function more like a Krogan than an Asari commando
Vetra - Focus on gun fire, Vetra will provide heavy gun support. All offense.
Liam - I haven't decided how I want to build Liam. I find his skillset a mish mash of abilities. Open to ideas here.
Ryder is armed with a stock Vanquisher X, an auto Hesh V and a crafted X5 Ghost V.

I have never respecced a squad mate in 23 PT's, I just let them do their thing and worry about myself.  I could not even tell you what they do except that Liam throws grenades as does Jaal I think because they like doing it when the Nomad shields are still up.  And Cora boosts my shields and looks great charging all over the place.  Vetra pulls out some fancy moves (dance moves? I dunno) and uses her tech Armour. Drack, uses his Flak Cannon I think? He is like Liam and Jaal and uses it when the Nomads Shields are up or shoots Ryder with it, other than that he does a lot of roaring. Maybe he likes The Lion King movie.  PeeBee has watched Sesame Street too many times and likes counting and apparently when you shoot people with guns and use Biotics on them they die and there is too much of it. Who would have known????  Sorry lame humour couldn't help myself. nannerb get yourself an auto fire Valkyrie with Double Mod Ext. and 2 or 3 KC's, Hesh with Seeking Plasma is pretty fun I can't remember what else I added to it. But its LOUD. Hornet with Beam attachment is pretty good as well.

Yeah I don' t tend to spec my companions in thes egames I let the AI do that in all these games and just focus on choosing my own set up. Especiall ygiven I spend mos to fm ytime only playing as m yown character whethe rit's Shepard Hawke, th eInquisitor whoever. Onl ytime I change is if mine goes down. Qui teoften in thos esituations I jus tkind of switc ht oVarric o rsomething pu thim in stealt hmode hav ehim sneak over to me and revive me then I'm bac kin the fight. Simple as that really. Obviously it's in ME i tdoesn' twork like tha tbecause if Shep o rRyder go down you hav t oreload but it's stil the same principle for me really. Also I don't go down that often so it's not that big a deal.

nannerb get yourself an auto fire Valkyrie with Double Mod Ext. and 2 or 3 KC's, Hesh with Seeking Plasma is pretty fun I can't remember what else I added to it. But its LOUD. Hornet with Beam attachment is pretty good as well. I kept my vampire auto Valkyrie X from the first playthrough as a 'break in case of emergency' gun, but nuked everything else. For NG+, since my Ryder is already level 84, I'm nerfing my gameplay to add some spice and some challenge (honestly at level 30 Ryder is already OP). Some things to increase the challenge: - None of my skills are specced to level 6 - Selective squadmate skills -they all have a ton of leftover skill points - I'm only using the fusion mod of hovering in my armor - I'm using a solider build with no emphasis on power combos - Nuked all weapon mods and am only allowed to use those found from looting crates - Avoiding the best heavy hitting guns (Auto Valkyrie, Auto Dhan, Auto Hornet, etc)

But those would synergize with the weapon mod of hovering. I think they have to be researched, and don't drop in the wild on their own. There are also soldier passives that increase hover duration and damage reduction while hovering - But you'll likely still get shot to pieces when actually trying a build like that on higher difficulties

Camina Ryder (named after Camina Drummer from The Expanse), Cora and Vetra began exploring EOS and stumbled upon Site 2. For background Site 2 is the first appearance of the fiend. It's a tough fight for a newbie with the bulletsponge fiend plus multiple waves of dropships (but I'm not a newbie anymore, or so I thought) Anyway, I definitely went in too cocky and got melted a dozen times (Insanity). I actually had to play around with the skills to increase survivability and ended up with Tactical Cloak 3, Pull 3 and Overload/Cryo beam 3. I broke one of my rules to only use skills I didn't have in the first playthrough. Glass cannon Vetra and Krogan Cora had to be revived multiple times, mostly because they kept ignoring my squad commands ugh

There are squad commands in Andromeda?  Apparently they're more like suggestions LMAO Most recent update: Went to Voeld first instead of Havarl. I gave up on the pure combat build and am toying with a Rogue build that will use Tactical Cloak to get close. Annihilation to prime and Lance to finish. I'd like to pair it with something ridiculous like an N7 Piranha with a Plasma Charge or Sticky Grenade augmentation.

There are squad commands in Andromeda?  Apparently they're more like suggestions LMAO Most recent update: Went to Voeld first instead of Havarl. I gave up on the pure combat build and am toying with a Rogue build that will use Tactical Cloak to get close. Annihilation to prime and Lance to finish. I'd like to pair it with something ridiculous like an N7 Piranha with a Plasma Charge or Sticky Grenade augmentation. So many choices!!!!!

So. Has anyone played MEA with the new EA app and got mods to work? What will I have to do to get them working? I am planning the yearly playthrough for my upcoming vacation  According to Wannkunstbeikor, the last update of the EA App means that mods should work directly from frosty again.
That one works for me - as long as the ea app itself starts correctly and does not refuse to even load the library

I am planning the yearly playthrough for my upcoming vacation  I have had no problem getting the MODS to work through FMM except for getting the load order wrong including wasting an hour yesterday as I had the Bi Cora MOD working but had the Poly Mod above it instead of below it. So all the Bi romances with Avelja and Cora were working till I locked in PB's romance. The frustrating issue I have is that I open EA App and FMM and hit launch from FMM and it goes through it motions but then the game just does not launch. Shut down the box saying "Waiting for Mass Effect Andromeda" Launch from FMM again (and you often have to wait a few minutes) and then ithe game launches. Sometimes have to repat this three times. Sometimes just launching straight from FMM with it opening the EA App and the game works but mostly it doesn't. I have not looked at KrrKs post and link yet maybe that will fix the issue I am having.

Possibly I had similar behaviour when I used the launch options that come with frosty - until those stopped working for me. With Datapath fix it feels like the whole process of starting the game is much quicker. So far i haven't had that 'waiting for game' limbo while using that.
Oh, word of warning: Datapath fix, Frosty Launch options (in the config menu) and that other FrostyFix plugin are mutually exclusive, so if you used any of the other ones before you have to disable them first.

Didin't fix anything for me unfortunately.

Back in February I said "At the moment what seems to be working is using FMM to force launch the EA App, but that only works if the EA App is not already running, otherwise FMM just stalls. If I don't use the force launch, the EA App launches but the mods don't load. At least so far, I seem to be getting different results every day". Don't know if that's still the case though.
