I imported my twins to begin customizing new characters. It had changed my Sara! WTF?!? It turned out that it simply changed her complexion from 3 to 0. Ugh.
I would've been pissed if it had ruined her face. Now I'm thinking that the links I posted earlier might be compromised. I wonder how it happened? I'll need to make sure I double check my Archives saves, later.
Edit: I updated the link I shared earlier. She's loading properly.

Tatiana Ryder: 1. Took out the Kett stronghold on Eos, and shut up Invictor for good. (This is always one of my favorite missions.)
2. Placed the seismic hammers. Made a deal with Advent and tapped the gas instead of water for the second hammer. Beat the Architect (having some better weapons helped) and sent it into orbit.
Unlocked level VI gear. Eos, Havarl, and Voeld are all done for now. Off to Kadara. I should also start working towards squadmate loyalty missions since I have all their powers at rank 5, and some of them really need some rank 6 evolutions to get better, Cora especially with Cryo Ammo.

Tatiana Ryder: 1. Went to Aya to help Liam with something, but an Angaran merchant got suspicious and Liam called it off. Back on the Tempest, Liam mentioned he screwed up by giving Nexus data to an Angaran contact, who was then captured by pirates.
2. Following Liam's plan, we managed to sneak aboard the pirate's vessel and rescue the captives.
3. Went to Kadara. Spoke with Reyes, then with Sloane. Broke the traitor out of prison. Accepted a bunch of assignments.
4. Went back to the Tempest so I could retrieve some AVP rewards before stopping for the night, but it also triggered a cutscene. Eladaan and the other location (forget the name) are now unlocked for travel. Spoke to several squadmates.

I'm all over the place with Andromeda. I still have my Sara playthrough, parked in orbit over Kadara, ready to visit for the first time. I was itching for a level one experience, though, so I started a new Scott. Scott didn't make it far, since I started late, only arriving on Eos and activating the comms tower at Site 1/Promise.
I started him with Operative Training and Tactical Cloak. TacCloak is possibly the best single power at low levels, and I have it evolved to 4b. I have a single point in Invasion, which has a long cooldown without passives and the FMoA. I just reached level 5 and invested a few points into Assault Rifles. They aren't worth much yet, but the intent is to unlock Turbocharge to achieve my baseline loadout; and that will require putting 9 points into Combat.
I am using the Deep Space Explorer Armor and the Andromeda Elite Helmet. The helmet is one of the best looking, while the armor is meh at best. I tried a few colors, but went back to the very dark blue base colors with blue highlights and blue pattern. The mediocre aesthetics are the price I pay for a huge Encounter XP bonus. I switch to Andromeda Recon/Spearpoint on Havarl, crafting a chest with a Shield Oscillator and the FMoA, and other pieces as I accrue worthy augments.
He's armed with the Avenger Rifle and Predator Pistol. I'll craft an Autofire Valkyrie around level 10. Earlier levels fly by too quickly for it to be worthwhile. I always research desirable Augments ASAP, since they won't appear as random drops until they're researched. This means Autofire, Bioconverter, Shield Oscillator, etc...
I probably won't get to research the Asari Sword until later, so I'll likely lean on the Cryo Gauntlet until MW Research Points aren't so scarce. I may not get to research Hyperguardian Armor enough to use it this playthrough, since I'm planning to invest in the Valkyrie. Researching the Ultra Rares is so expensive.
I like the Pathfinder Armor, but don't like how the interior wrap of the Chest clips through the armor panel on Scott. I may just use the Initiative Spearpoint through the end. It would be interesting to determine to just how high a level the Encounter XP bonus would push Ryder in a full playthrough. I think it would probably be into the mid-90s. I don't like its look all that much, so we'll see.

I felt like my last post was long enough that it needed to end, but I still have thoughts. 😄
Why did they include that annoying scene in the Prologue, just outside of Cryo? "Ryder has a scanner. Quick, Ryder, use your scanner." Sigh. Awkward. Why not teach us about the scanner after we crash and regroup with Liam? Liam might say, "What isn't broken? Ryder, is your scanner working?" That would be better than the awkward scene with Cora, those ill equipped engineers, and all that smoke.
After we first get eyes on Habitat-7, and Alec leaves Hyperion's bridge, Captain Dunn and our protagonist get a chance to discuss Alec. Sara's version is fine. Scott's is so strange. If he doesn't diss his dad, the other option is, "He cares in his own way, enough to give him a chance." Huh? What a weird thing to say. Sara simply acknowledges that Alec isn't a people person, which fits much better.
Before descending to Habitat-7, why did the Pathfinder require only sidearms? Wut? Why wouldn't the protagonist bring a battle rifle? This was seemingly some strange way to introduce us to the Predator, before introducing us to Kirkland's Avenger soon after. I think it's odd.
I already griped about Hayes entering our Shuttle 2 before very, very swiftly darting to Shuttle One off-screen. I don't think many notice this, but it annoys me.
There are just so many little things in the beginning that didn't need to be so awkward. Cora has a few poor lines, too. The "feels like it's been centuries" joke and the "He was an N7" line. Ugh. I feel like they were a bit of improved dialogue and better animations away from a much better reception. We might've already played MEA2 and be awaiting Mass Effect 6.

So Sara dealt with all the negativity of the Leadership team and the enthusiasm of the Scientific team and then jumped on the Tempest and got the hell out of Dodge. Playing Sara as Serious and Logical with a few casual and Emotional comments just to keep Lexi off balance. Investigated/scanned some systems, found some lost/dead scientists and then headed to Eos. Eos was a wasteland but Vetra, Cora and a recently acquired blue/purple bandit joined the team after starting the Monoliths and Resetting The Vault and things are now looking positive. Next to set up the Outpost where I suspect the team will run into a grumpy old Krogan they met earlier and the Kett will fall down dead and the clouds will part (or something like that) and he'll join the team too. Sara was going to play Soldier but I hated it already and reverted to Sentinel, more fun and easier playing Insanity. Pic's Why can't Sam have a better Avatar? Maybe a Bee as he's a Symbiotic? One of my favourite moments in the game still Eos even multiple times later still feels like a graveyard when you get there, the atmosphere is very fitting. Sara is Jumped by a Bandit Yay Grandpa is here The solution to all the Andromeda Initiative's problems, be good if it was also a giant Beer Tap. That'd be better than the drinks at The Vortex. New places to explore

I really like SAM's brainy image. 😄 Of course, I liked EDI's holgraphic, talking lady-parts avatar, as well. I don't think I'd ever even noticed that resemblance until I heard Jack's joke in ME3.
Oh, brainy image reminds me of grainy image. Does anyone play with Film Grain active? I thought it cool the first time or two that I played Mass Effect in 2007, but quickly ditched it and never missed it. I'd completely forgotten that it's still a thing in MEA until adjusting my settings a month ago on my first PS5 playthrough.

I can deal with a lot of the little things like the scanner and the comments but some of the facial animations Sara pulls still annoy the hell out of me. I also think that the bigger issue is the great insertion on Habitat 7, the great combat and pacing only to then go to The Nexus and deal with the inanity of a lot of the dialogue there. There's too much, a lot of it is unnecessary and suddenly you go from 100mph to zero and it is just jarring. I smaller version of the first Nexus stuff when you first arrive then going to Habitat 7 and then Eos would have worked better and you certainly have no need of all those trivial tasks on The Nexus that I put off till I go back later.

I have skipped all of the Nexus dialogue the past few times. If I were playing after a long layoff, I'd absolutely play out everything. Playing consecutive playthroughs, I just can't be bothered.
Your description of 100kph to zero is apt. We get a strong intro, only to have it stall as we meet Foster Addison and the minutiae of the Nexus. Liam is a Security Specialist. I'd gladly leave him behind to talk to Nilken Rensus, investigate Dale Atkins, etc... 😁

I squeezed in a short session this morning. Scott activated the Vault on Eos and established Prodromos. I saved on the irradiated cliff after talking to Addison.
It's been quite a while since I've played such a low-level Insanity Soldier/Operative. I died three times at the second Monolith, the one with Kett fortifications. An Anointed, with his big ole Soned, kept attacking from behind. Liam and Vetra are nearly useless at level 5. I was laughing at my failure and griping about their performances. 😄
My tactics would've been fine with a better weapon, but we're level 5. The Avenger sprays as many rounds as it lands. If we could see a graph, the enemies would probably have impressive halos around their heads. In the end, I just aggressively pushed around the right perimeter, correctly guessing that the Anointed wouldn't flank if I did this. I was also careful to use as many of the explosive coolant cannisters as possible.
I reached level 6 at the end of the fight, unlocking the Soldier Profile while putting a point into Turbocharge. I could've used both during my failed attempts.
After activating the second Monolith, I drove around the lake to grab the final Site 2 Special Project component, whatever it's supposed to be, and to investigate Chief Reynolds' body. I stopped at Site 1 and built an Avenger II with Beam Emitter. It might still be a pea shooter, but now those peas stay on target. I'll have an Autofire Valkyrie soon enough.
It's sort of wild how quickly the levels accrue on Eos. I hit level 6 at that Monolith, and definitely earned it. Then, I got level 7 when I crafted that Avenger-BE. (I'd hoped that would happen.) Then, after activating the Vault and establishing Prodromos, Ryder is either level 9 or just a hair away from it.
There shouldn't be anymore repeated deaths going forward. With Soldier's perks, level 3 gear unlocking, and skills rapidly evolving, things will get much better. I'll be collecting the FMoA on Havarl in no time. 😁
If I recall correctly, Ryder's current build is Soldier (Invasion 1/Tactical Cloak 4b/Turbocharge1) with Assault Rifles 4a5b. He's packing the Avenger-BE and a decorative Predator Pistol.

So change of hairstyle for Sara and then a few tweaks to the face to make her look less pretty but that didn't work so made her pretty again and agave her a tattoo. New Sara didn't really get a good shot of her Otherwise all I did was chat and do busy work on The Nexus and then chat to everyone one on the Tempest. Resisted the urge to flirt with Cora the first time but gave in the second time. Was planning to solo romance PB but might hedge my bets as the Cora/Sara thing often bugs.

I played a bit more this afternoon, but got so drowsy that I had to stop. I need to log off earlier at night. Much like dazk, I had a mostly chatty session. The team toured Prodromos, and did see some brief action while saving Axl Jennings' crew. That encounter got Scott to level 9. Then, it was back to the Nexus. There were resolved the Nilken Rensus case with murder acquittal and community service. We got our first taste of AVP and started with Research Points, of course. I'll be needing lots of those. There were other quests, too, like the beginning of "Firefighters". Scott reached levels 10 and 11 while completing all those little Nexus activities. Next, we'll head for the networked Vault we noted in the display in the Eos Vault. I deconstructed my Avenger, appreciating its brief service. I constructed a Valkyrie III with Autofire, Dual Mod Extension, and two Kinetic Coils. I was also able to construct a Metamaterial Blade II (Asari Sword) with a medley of augments, all useful, but not as optimized as they'll eventually be. I also maxed the Assault Rifles skill. I'll finished Tactical Cloak next, and then maybe add Assault Turret as an alternative to Invasion. From there, Turbocharge and lots of important passives await.

Tatiana Ryder: 1. Went to the Nexus for a bunch of stuff. - Another Keri interview. - Tracked down some stolen supplies. - Tried to track down a contagious person, Ruth Becker, but she got off the station.
2. Tracked Ruth Becker across the cluster. She landed on Kadara.
3. Tracked down attacks by the Three Sabers for Sid. Their base is on Kadara.
4. Acquired a space hamster
5. Went to Eladaan. - Talked to the Jorgul Strux, Drack's contact from the Krogan colony. - Scanned scavangers for Lexi. - Said hello to Danny. - Accepted some quests.
6. Scanned lifepods from Ark Natanus, but no Turian pathfinder.
7. Visited the Krogan colony. More quests. Went back to Paradise, where I gave Lexi's medicine to a scavenger.
8. Went with Avitus Rix to the Turian Ark. Convinced him to become the new Turian Pathfinder.
9. Went with Cora and found the Asari Ark. Saved them from the Kett. Told the Asari about Sarissa's actions, but kept her on as Pathfinder. Specced Cora into Cryo Ammo.
10. Went back to Kadara to do some small things and get a little XP to level up. - Helped an Angaran find her sister. Her sister had unfortunately died. - Found the body of a guy who had been forced to go with the exiles and then killed. - Broke the news to some prisoner that his Asari "girlfriend" had no interest in him. - Picked up snacks for Vetra.
11. Went to H-047c. - Took out some scavengers who were apparently planning to attack the Nexus. Their leader (Elora) is still at large. - Restarted the Remnant tiller. I wish I was recording the Progenitor fight, because Cora somehow managed to tank it. It was actually kind of neat to see. - Found the location given by Sid. It turned into a trap. With Sid's help, took down the gang and rescued the civilians.

Cora is the best companion. I'm not even surprised that she survived tanking the Progenitor. Shield Boost is strong, and I love Cryo Ammo. I rotate my squaddies, but Cora and Drak is my favorite pairing for non-Architect situations. They're so durable and aggressive, and they prime everything.

Not a lot done yesterday I burnt my finger tips on my right hand. Broke up the protest in Hydroponics, did a second interview with Kerri, had my first interaction with Spender and found some evidence he may have been involved in the Mutiny. Then headed out to investigate the vault that was different in the Eos Vault Map and almost head on with some bonehead blocking The Tempests Space Lane. SAM go us out of there and we were herded by aliens in toy spacecraft to a planet called Aya. Met some aliens called the Angara. Spoke to their resistance leader Evfra, got loaded with an Angaran called Jaal and headed to Havarl after more chatting on the Tempest. Had to stop, fingers hurt. Pic's Gave this bonehead the slip Sara makes light of being eaten by aliens They don't look like flesh eaters Picked up a hitch hiker He introduced me to some colleagues on Havarl, apparently Sara is a fish with a gem in her mouth. Some better pictures of Sara.

Today Scott took the team to Aya, meeting the Angara and coming to an arrangement. We then headed to Havarl, where Scott reset their failing Vault and saved their world from biological collapse. That engendered a lot of good will, and the Initiative now has scientists working alongside the Angara at Dar Pelaav.
Next, we headed back to Eos. We did quite a bit there, but still had a lot to do when I saved for the day. We found Site 2 survivors in stasis aboard a disabled shuttle in Ericsson System. Imagine how happy they'd be to awaken. We saved Danny Messier from bugs, and then Kett. We found Ana Carrell's research and final resting place in a lesser vault. Then, we headed toward Outland Spire, up to Sawtooth Plateau, and all around the Sheartop. Everywhere we went, we found Remnant and killed Kett.
We placed the HNS Receiver and all of Eric Cambers' survey beacons. We also found an Ark Paarchero escape pod in Kett hands. Tomorrow it's on to the serious business of uprooting the Kett and exploring further west and north.
I just couldn't stick with my Guns-primary build. I wasn't having as much fun as usual. As I left Havarl, around level 16, I respec'd into my favorite Sentinel build. I can't go back and alter my Research investments, but that will work itself out, in time. It's been so much more fun dropping biotic and tech explosions on everyone. I do really like that Tactical Soldier build, but it's time is later. For the bulk of the game, I prefer combo damage builds.
I saved on the Sheartop, just reaching level 19. I'm really looking forward to level 20, since I'll be constructing new weapons. I'll put a bioconverter in my next Valkyrie, so I can finally start shredding foes with it like I'm used to doing. I'll also install Reaction Optimizers in my sword and Valkyrie. I've been fortunate to loot a bunch and buy a few more. I think I may have the 7 I need to fill both weapons. If so, that will be +35% combo damage. 😈
I'd be remiss if I didn't praise the N7 Eagle pistol that I've been carrying. I got it as an Apex reward, and it became my primary weapon, due to its stability, accuracy, and respectable damage. (Valkyrie was my heavy-hitter when its range or power were needed.) It's a great weapon that sadly gets completely outclassed by the monsters we can craft. I salute you, Eagle. You've been awesome.
I made a small but consequential change to this Sentinel. Everyone knows I love Annihilation. On my previous batch of Ryders (4 of them), I used evolution 5b-Biotic Wind. It increases your speed, and that of your squaddies, within the radius of Annihilation. It's fun, but not as powerful as 5a-Damage Attractor. That one simply increases ALL damage received by enemies within Annihilation by +20%. That only gets more ridiculous as levels climb, the radius increases, damage output increases, etc... I love the extra speed of Biotic Wind, but I've missed the absurd destruction enabled by Damage Attractor.

I never got the fascination with Annihilation, I might try it again but maybe my set up is not right what should I check?
I use the Asari Sword but have five KC's on it should I change that?

Annihilation field with Vortex is where it is for me, but one needs to build either Vanguard or then go via the covers next to enemies which is a bit more time taking but yeah. Its nice. Combo it with lance/throw/warp and its a boom they're dead -city.

I never got the fascination with Annihilation, I might try it again but maybe my set up is not right what should I check? I use the Asari Sword but have five KC's on it should I change that? Like Unicephalon 40-D says, the combos are endless, and biotic combos are my favorite because of the boom. Annihilation primes everything within its radius. If you select 5a Damage Attractor, everything within takes +20% more damage from every source. If you select 6b Vortex, all unprotected enemies are lifted off the ground, just waiting to be killed. No more sneaky Andromedogs. The gameplay loop I love so much goes like this: Get my Sentinel close to enemies ASAP. Use Energy Drain, which detonates a biotic combo and primes a tech combo. Follow up with Lance on anything living, which detonates the tech combo. If anything still lives, that's okay, since I can Lance on command as long as I have shields. Lance is powered by Shields, and Energy Drain and every kill (Shield Oscillator in the chest armor) is replenishing Shields faster than my enemies and I burn them. (Sentinel and Vanguard also get a discount on the shield cost of abilities like Lance and Nova.) Not only is Energy Drain replenishing shields for me, but also for my team. It's also instantly resetting shield recharge delays AND healing health every 12 seconds. You become so tough that sprinting into most situations is safe. As long as you can keep the endless loop of kills going, you're nearly immortal. For the situations in which it's too dangerous to run in immediately, or against heavies like Destroyers, you still have a ranged primer (Energy Drain) and a good detonator (Lance) to pair with your OP Valkyrie. The more powerful version is the Vanguard who uses Charge instead of Lance. It's more powerful because of its mobility. It can reach anywhere in an instant. My gameplay loop for Vanguard is different: Energy Drain to prime, Charge to detonate and get up close. Annihilation immediately activates, increasing all damage. I shoot them in the face with my autofire Hesh and/or kill them with my sword. Shotguns amd melee can be built to pair very well. Gear for the Sentinel should generally be focused on Reaction Optimizers for +Combo Damage. The Vanguard focuses more on melee and guns than combos, so more Kinetic Coils work fine. The keys are using the Fusion Mod of Adrenaline to eliminate cooldowns and a Shield Oscillator in the chest to regenerate +25% shields with each kill. There are also certain choices you should be making in your Passive skills. You absolutely need Team Support (5a and 6b). You want Barrier, Offensive Biotics, and Containment evolved to increase radiuses, combo damage, etc... Offensive Tech will be increasing Energy Drain's combos and boosting your weapon damage by +35%. Combat Fitness and Combat Tools will improve your toughness and melee. Even your weapons skills might use different choices if you want to maximize this close-quarters combat and combo damage specialization.

Man I wish you could just tweak your skills, I think I'd have to do a complete reset and build. Will have a look tomorrow. Thanks.

Yeah, I did a complete reset when I was switching to Vanguard two playthroughs ago. It would be cool if we could keep some skills intact. It didn't take all that long, though. Once I'm home, I can list the skills and choices you want to prioritize. Outside of those, it's mostly preference. Are you starting from level 1 or NG+?
