I didn't plan on getting it until much later, but my middle daughter bought it for me as a early Birthday present and gave it to me today. She wanted me to sit down and play it some so I did. I have to agree about the comedy. I don't want Gotg type game. I want a ME game. If they wanted to create a game that was 180 out of the 3 previous to it, then maybe they should not have "Mass Effect" in the title. People are going to expect certain things with that name and no matter how different they say it's going to be, people are going to expect certain things and when it doesn't live up to what they expect, it's going to get slammed. Just the small amount of hrs I'm in the game (4 maybe), I'm already sick to death of the scanning, one-liners, and poor choices I'm given in the convo wheel. They all seem to be different shades of Paragon and nothing more. Since my daughter spent her hard earned money on it, I will play it all the way through. It will be like DAI was for me, I did one play-through and had to force myself to do that. I will say, the animations aren't too bad from what I have seen so far, but those eyes, wtf is up with those eyes! I have already decided to see if I can get everyone to hate me, but I don't think it's possible to get anyone to hate you, which is limiting play styles. Wouldn't you get tired of every single Mass Effect game being bound to a universe ending threat? This is set in the ME universe and even if there is no world ending threat nipping at your heels it is still very much a ME game.

No, I wouldn't get tired of it. I don't mind some humor getting injected into the game. It had it in the previous three, but this one tries too hard to be funny and fails miserably at it. The animations are what is giving this any humor at all. For every minute that I find it looking like an ME game, I find five that don't.
That is fine for those who want that type of game, I'm just not one of them.

If I don't know better, I would say that most of dialogue in MEA is just a copy paste meaningless annoying banter from Kingdom of Amalur. I wonder if Ian Frazier wrote all this tasteless bs by himself in both games.
I'll wait for a couple of months before actually trying more of single player, there is a slim chance it gets improved/patched, there is always hope.
Presumably, Citadel DLC was a big goodbye to everything good and that makes it the saddest DLC of all ME franchise.
Combat is good though and done mostly right barring some bugs, so I'll stick to multiplayer for the time being.
