The Old Guard (Ye Olde Cullen Thread v4.0 + gen discussion)

I wonder if it might be time to remove the "Cullen" from the thread title? Maybe replace with "General Character Chat" or something.

The ability to post pictures and not have to worry about getting a warning is intoxicating!

So, a BSN Wake. I'm hearing: contributions of Thedosian food, snapshots/screenshots of people, anecdotes and memories. I had a fic idea that may or may not pan out.

Should we do this?

Pretty much storms here every day for over a week, but not as bad as Louisiana, thank the Maker!

SO, what shall we do for a BSN Wake that is reflective and life affirming? Dragon Age stories/art/photoshop/screencaps around the theme "And life goes on..." ??

Yes indeed! So far the only damage sustained would be several pairs of shoes   It'll be bright and sunny when I leave the house in the morning, then by noon, thunderstorms. So of course I NEVER wear my rain boots, sigh. Luckily, since this is Louisiana, i keep an umbrella in the house, in the car, and at work. 

Even though I'd love to see these characters (Nate especially ) I have a feeling a lot of the characters from games before DAI we won't be seeing again. I almost feel like the "story" of DA/Thedas is revolved around the core group from DAI... but who knows. I really hope a large portion of DAI characters will pop up esp if it's going to be about finding/fighting Solas. I'll be surprised if Cass, Leliana and Harding don't play large roles after the last scene of DAI.

As I wrote the above I realise, heck, writers could take it really anywhere even with the impression of it being about Tevinter/Solas etc for next game.
So I'll stick to being hopeful

Can I still stumble in here every now and again and butt in to y'all convos? I only romanced Cullen that one time, I got nuthin' much to say on the subject.  I like the atmosphere in here tho.

Another question on BSN Wake: shall we do a certain page celebration, like we did in the old thread? Like, page 50 or something? Or pick a day? Like, Nov 2, Day of the Dead?

Agree that we'll likely see quite a new cast of characters. They almost shouted it to the rooftops at the end of Trespasser with their "we need people Solas doesn't know" shtick. But that folks from the old Inquisition may show up as advisors and other background cameos. It will be interesting to see whether we see the IQ's LI if the IQ shows up in person.

For example, will Cullen show up? He's either living happily ever after with the IQ, with or without an existing Inquisition, or running his home for templars, or *gulp* dying/dead of lyrium addiction. Since he was formerly an advisor, I could see him showing up as part of the old Inquisition group, provided he's still involved in some way.

Dorian seems a shoo in, given the likely Tevinter setting and his new leadership, proto-advisor role there. Whether or not he was involved with the IQ. 

With Bull... gulp, if he turned on the IQ in Trespasser, did he die in the end? I realize I wasn't brave enough to ask the Bullmancers.  

Sera might show up with the Red Jennies as an auxiliary quest or something. 

The Divine could make a quick cameo, altho that could also involve boring war table letters. Hmm. 

Overall, lots of possibilities for past folk to support a new cast of characters. But, realistically, I'm sure most LIs will get sidelined, as the DA2 LIs did in DA:I. 

I'd rather it be a set day rather than a page myself. I can remember points when the old thread was moving SO fast that if you were in a meeting for a few hours, you could easily miss it.

Day of the Dead would be appropriate, but that's over 2 months away. Do we want to wait that long?
