Okay, I see. Well, I am glad it's shifted to a broader character discussion thread. It was time I think; and perhaps even general speculations.
I'm glad not to feel some Sword of Damocles hanging over your head lest you go too far off topic.
The place is pretty slick. Tbh, I think it's a nicer set up than the old BSN. So far.

The image is a bit larger than I'd like. But it's an image of EstWatch (pulled from DA Wikia):  I'm on a Felicisima Armada kick today (and one day may be it won't be a struggle for me to spell it). Some brief backstory on the place that seems to me like it would be great in the next game.  (info also pulled from DA Wikia): " Estwatch is a small island not technically under any jurisdiction but desired by many nations and city-states for its strategic position. During the Dragon Age it is under the control of the Felicisima Armada which turned it into a notoriously lawless port.
The nearby Free Marches states of Kirkwall, Starkhaven, and Hercinia have all tried and failed to claim the valuable land. The island sits adjacent to the Free Marches and Rivain. At approximately -880 Ancient the Tevinter Imperium first settled the island. The Imperium fortified the largest natural bay on the island with a defensive wall and used the island as a facility to repair warships during military campaigns and slaving ventures against the Alamarri.
The time until the First Blight saw heavy usage of the island but the turmoil in the Imperium during this period halted Imperial naval activity in the Waking Sea. The island was essentially abandoned until Andraste's armies reached the island in -180 Ancient.
During the Divine and Glory Ages, the island remained unoccupied and the emptiness coupled with the debris from shipwrecks that littered the coast bred in the Free Marches the belief that the island was haunted or cursed, and contributed to the failure of any Marcher state to claim a lasting foothold on the land.
Estwatch became a naval base during the Storm Age. In 7:54 Storm the Qunari took the island as a base of operations in their war against the Free March states, Nevarra, and Orlais. I chose the BSN background theme with a cool grey and somewhat steel blue tones. Don't remeber where it is though. There are a few nice choices.

I'm still of the opinion the next DA game will take place primarily in Tevinter based on the remarks at the end of Trespasser. Oh, I definitely think Tevinter will be the main hub and setting of DA4. But I'm hoping we get to go to a few places that are closely associated through theme and proximity. |
