So the DR kinda function as a 'fertilizer' (getting prego at 1st try) Hunh. Never thought about it that far, I guess. The only thing that crosses my mind about DR was: magical OGB and ticket to survival. But then again, the game is aaaages ago since I last played that I probably forgot a lot of detail already PS: thanks for answering

You know I just had a thought.
What if Bioware jumped the DA timeline up to about twenty years. Then Cullen’s nephew became your character’s companion and could be romanced. And possibly added in a marriage option for this relationship down the road.
Your character would not only be related to Cullen but also to the Inquisitor. I'm in for this idea. In a way, it opens a personal storyline that Cullen and the Inquisitor's nephew is continuing the fight against Solas on their behalf.

Uh... cause not every inquisitor romances Cullen? lol As for a PC who starts a family, that would be tough to write in a pregnant adventurer, though I'm not saying it couldn't be done. I think pregnancy tends to be a thing writers of all genres shy away from (along with menstruation). Still, I don't blame BioWare for not wanting to deal with it since it could be tricky, plus it would have to be (obviously) entirely optional. Would work better in maybe a sci-fi (or contemporary) setting so lesbian protags could make dem some babies too Or hell, if we're talking super speculative sci-fi, let's throw in some m-preg while we're at it

I did the Ser Gilmore romance mod in DA: O and he proposes at the coronation, where you have the option to say "Yes, I accept your proposal... oh, and by the way I'M PREGNANT!". I picked it because it was so out of the blue and kind of funny. It works in the Awakening expansion of the mod because the pregnancy is off-screen between Origins and and Awakening (this is a great, well-done and thorough mod which I highly recommend), but I'm not sure how BW could include a pregnancy sub-plot for a female protagonists without this kind of awkwardness. I suppose it could work in epilogue slides or between games, but I think this sort of thing should be left for headcanon and fanfic (and I've read some *amazing* fanfic which includes the pregnancy sub-plot for female protagonists). The sci-fi idea is an interesting one, though... I mean, it's entirely possible in the Mass Effect universe for a female protagonist to have a baby and not even have to go through pregnancy

[De-lurking] ^ That would be an awsome idea being in laws of most awsome people in Thedas. Honestly, I know I maybe in the minority here, but I'd love to see somewhere in the next future the Inquisitor gets the chance to start out a family like dad!warden in DAO XD (even if its only through optional text / through dialogue) I wonder why only the dudes gets that kind of option in game or am I missing something? The only reason a male warden gets to be a father is because of the Dark Ritual. Otherwise, they wouldn't have children as evidenced by the warden that marries Anora. Of course, we're not sure if Anora is barren, but the taint would make it extremely difficult for the warden to have children. Actually, a male dwarven noble can also have a child, conceived before he joins the Grey Wardens. So some men can finish DAO with not one, but two kids, one of them potentially in line for the throne of Orzammar...

Did anyone else "join the Andromeda initiative"? I'm hoping it's more than just random sales alerts from EA lol Surely it must be Andromeda related!? N7 Day is so close *crosses fingers*
EDIT: Ah okay, this is the message that was just sent to my inbox:
Hi!
Thanks for signing up as a Mass Effect insider. You'll now receive all of the latest and greatest news and info at this e-mail address, as you've requested.

Seems kind of an antiquated way to communicate information to one's fans, but okay. I really miss the BioWare blog... or is that still running? They were always a bit rubbish at keeping it up to date, but I liked visiting it.

So dwarf noble gets to be a dead beat dad twice in one game Classic. Now, now, part of the DN story line when you return to Orzammar is providing for that son. Though I think you can opt not to, not sure.

So dwarf noble gets to be a dead beat dad twice in one game Classic. Only if you show no interest in either kid, I suppose. Otherwise it's not entirely Dad!Aeducan's fault for leaving both their baby-momma's in the lurch. It was Bhelen conspired to get him exiled (costing Kid!Aeducan their caste), while Morrigan left as soon as she was pregnant with Kieran. Dad!Aeducan should probably think about starting the Thedas chapter of Father's 4 Justice.

It's a critique of the writers, y'all, not the character. Aye, not particularly happy the writers pulled the same kinda thing with Revan in TOR. Bioware has used daddy issues and/or deadbeat fathers as a plot device so often, even their characters are starting to notice in-universe, as Shepard alludes to EDI in ME3.

Yep, even characters who are really sympathetic like Thane have that as a plot device. It's very annoying. Then there's Jacob's father... Wrex and his insane daddy haha. In Dragon Age, Alistair's OBVIOUS issues with his dad. And even though it is a tired trope they can't seem to shake, it's even more annoying when they saddle the player with it. And you know they would never do that to a female player character - make her have two children yet not give her the option to be a mother to them. (Even Kieran has a single parent potentially until Witch Hunt; and I have no idea where daddy!Warden goes between that and Inquisition.) To be fair we also had the crazy absentee mamas of ME, i.e. Samara and Benezia lol It does create angst for a character, but they need to try something else. I know loving parents make boring backgrounds, but still.

The warden who romances Morrigan and then goes through the eluvian with her at the end of Witch Hunt stays with her until he goes in search of a cure for the calling. Morrigan will comment on this in DAI if you ask her.

At least two of your companions in SWtOR kill their fathers, and at least one other is out for revenge for her surrogate dad. And in the expansion KOtFE, you get both mommy and daddy issues with Arcann and Vaylin. And mommy issues for Theron Shan and Satele. They do seem to like that theme...

Yeah I'm a super romantic so I don't think it ever occurred to me to break up with my LI, at least in a BioWare game... I have. I'm heartless, I know. But this made me remember that I DID break-up with Ulfric in Skyrim so I could start the Thieves Guild storyline and eventually marry Brynjolf... ahh mods I left Ulfric the house, though. Seemed the right thing to do since he refused to return to Windhelm.

I think the only time I've done it is with Solas... gulp. As a momentary reprieve to snog Cullen between my fifty-thousand reloads of the Crestwood scene. But it was therapeutic! Altho, come to think of it, I may have broken up with Anders and Merrill once upon a time when they ninjamanced me out of the blue. But they weren't really my LIs.

I will say this... as apathetic as I am about DA2, that was one moment that enraged me enough that I was ready, willing and able to shank my boyfriend without remorse. And left me wishing I could revive him just to do it again. It was wonderful!
