Mass Effect's Best Human Squadmates

Kasumi, with Zaeed as a close second. Shame they were DLC so they didn't get full conversations.

Those were just two of the many reasons ME2 is my favourite in the series and always chose them as squadmates when possible. If only Jack didn't hate her so much...

Jack's Shockwave (Shockwave in ME2!) and Miranda's Slam were always a lot of fun to have on stand-by.

I found their side missions the most fun/interesting, with Jack's initial prison-break being my favourite.

In the original trilogy, I don't think anyone holds a candle to Kasumi. Her character is quirky and her loyalty mission/story arc was fulfilling. Closest in the trilogy was Miranda, but by ME3, I feel like the rehash of her ME2 loyalty mission diminished her motives. Jacob was a trash character and Ashley/Kaidan had no depth. Just put there to be human soldiers on your team. Cora is near Kasumi for me. She's more... human. By far the most useful squad mate outside of Kasumi in ME2; she's great for synergy with a biotic. Her human emotions and explanations about why she came to the initiative and her love for flowers and such are very wholesome and organic. Nothing is forced with her.

Jack was my favorite - a character who had full development over two games and didn't feel like they were put in to fit an archetype or be the 'it' girl. And her voice didn't grate either (looking at you Kaidan).

Can't comment on MEA, but in MET, Zaeed was the only human I took for missions.

I voted for Jenkins, he should have stick around for way longer than thirty seconds in the first mission. He was a good guy that deserved a chance to prove himself alongside Shepard, thinking about it, we did't even need Garrus in ME1, Jenkins could take on his role just fine.

After the release of Mass Effect 3 there was a favorite character poll on the old BSN that something like 1,000 people voted in, and Jacob came in near dead last with maybe 3 votes. The only character he beat if I remember correctly was Diana Allers, because that one included characters that weren't in the party. 

Cora and James were my two votes as well, and Zaeed would have been my runner up.

On that note Vega is an underrated character. Freddie Prinze Jr had one of the better performances in the series.

Jenkins was not a squadmate; he was doomed, poor guy.
And I don't know the squadmate called "Who were your two favorite human characters in the series?"... The first choice in the poll was meant to be the title, wasn't it?
