I'm an old gamer, going back to Wing Commander and Privateer, when Origin used to say "ORIGIN - We Build Worlds". As such, I have more money than time, so I frequently jump-start a new MP game with some $$ purchases at the store. I've spent real US Dollars to buy Andromeda Points, and at my age I need all the early boosting I can get. Today I have bought about 10 Premium Packs. These packs are represented to the purchaser as: "Contains 5 random items or characters including at least 2 that are Rare with a higher chance for an Ultra-rare" Seven (7) of the ten packs that I purchased were all Blue Consumables cards. I should have received at least 20 Rare cards, and I only received 6. The MEA Store is literally fraudulently stealing my money through purchased Andromeda Points. I've reported this glitch to EA. A Premium Pack costs 300 Andromeda Points or 100,000 MP Credits. I am basically buying 100,000 MP Credits (300 Andromeda Points) and receiving a pack that costs 2000 MP Credits. Beware of the Premium Packs at this time.

I'm afraid you may be correct, Spectr61.
As a test, I just purchased an Expert Pack that has a 'guaranteed' single Rare. I got 5 Blue/Common cards.
And I thought DAI RNG Store was bad!

If one were to want to "get ahead" any buy Andromeda points, would the best course of action be to buy Advanced Packs instead of Expert and Premium packs until Commons and Uncommons are maxed out? It's too bad we can't buy Basic packs with points; I don't envy the grind just to get these Common weapons and characters maxed out.

This is something that's totally worth opening up a support ticket about, particularly since you say you have screenshots. I'm sure it's just a bug, but the Andromeda Points you spent should be comped back to you, since you didn't get what the packs are supposed to give you.
I have limited experience with Origin support, but the couple of times I have had to contact them it didn't seem too bad, and my issues got taken care of.

I was hoping it was a more widespread problem so it would be addressed. I've contacted EA Support via their Chat, sent the screen capture, and opened up a support ticket.
I can only hope. Probably lost about $30.

Did they just ruin this with the Krogan update? I was just opening my super deluxe freebie premium packs yesterday and got at least 2 rares out of each one. It appears so far no one else is reporting this glitch - limited to my pc and MEA game. I've bought bunches of Premium and Expert Packs, and have multiple Level X weapons, so I don't know if that's causing programming glitch to trigger. I've got screenshots of the glitch (happening on all packs for me) and receipts. I'll post back here when EA Hit Squad Support Team Responds.

I bought some packs yesterday and never had the issue, hell got 2 ultra rares in 1 pack. Sounds like it's a pretty rare thing, but considering the game tracks your packs there really shouldn't be any issue with getting a replacement pack/refund when the system doesn't work as specified.

Someone in a later thread stated that to increase the rare drop rate, you need to max out the common items you have (e.g. buy more basic/advanced packs until statistically a rare drop is more probable).
However I think it's a bit misleading on the developer side since the algorithms to determine drop rate should have been more robust to accommodate for this occurrence. You know people will want to buy the deluxe packs, you know people want the rare weapons, the damn description indicates that you are GUARANTEED 2 rares.
TL;DR Life is unfair and they took my moneys.
On another note, has anyone unlocked the ultra-rare Krogan?

So just as a side note the Origin Systems that made Wing Commander and was acquired by EA in 1992, ceased to exist in 2004. I think comparing current day Bioware/EA to the Wing Commander days is a bit pointless. That said, OP, you got ripped off. Definitely complain and ask for your money/points back. I have not had this happen a single time with premium packs, I wonder if they're glitched right now or for you. I've opened maybe 30-40 premium and have gotten at least 2 in every pack. |

I just purchased about four Premium Packs. Each pack had a combination of two Rare and UR characters/weapons. The other three items were all high level consumables (III/IV) and maybe one supply item. With this being the case, removing lower tier permanent items would have no effect on what I get in Premium Packs. |

Spend the credits on basic kits to unlock and max out the common/uncommon items. Better rate at getting rare, ultra-rare once you purchase those specific crates.
