As much as I wish this thread was about Dobby or Panda... Are you guys noticing head shots are pretty hard to get in the new game? I'm using weapons that are pretty stable and easy targets. An occasional pumpkin poppin' but nothing like in ME3MP. Any one else seeing this? Did using the various scopes on the weapons seems to make a difference?

Yup, it's definitely not as easy as it was in ME3. I think it's because the aim assist has been toned down quite a lot on consoles. Also, they're not headshots, they're "Weak Point Kills" according to the medal I keep earning.

I thought it was just me for a bit, but it doesn't seem to matter on the aim point or weapon used, etc. Maybe the Kett's Brain Housing Unit is in their knees?

After playing the Vanquisher SI extensively yesterday, I can confirm that headshots are more difficult than in ME3. For humanoid enemies the weak point seems to be their throat/chin area. Not sure if that's by design or just working as intended.

I remember aiming center of the head and poppin' noggins'.

I only have about 10 total hours, but the hitbox does seem noticeably different in size and damage boost. I did notice that the falcon can take heads off, which is hilarious.

I can't headshot with the falcon. Best results so far have been biotic charge with the vanguard and apply talon directly to forehead. Even I can headshot that. Satisfying sound effect.

It gave me a good laugh.

The Falcon is proving to be an excellent 'gateway gun' for me in MP and of course you're the FIRST person I thought of HM I hate that it's considered "weak point" kills in the stat feed, btw.

I tried the Widow 1 on bronze yesterday for a couple of runs.
Kett´s heads prove to be big enough to single-shot kill them opposed to a hit on the body. It is harder to do because they are in constant motion compared to the camping and very predictable paths of ME3. At the same time, it is just as much if not more satisfying to make the mark.

Yup, it's definitely not as easy as it was in ME3. I think it's because the aim assist has been toned down quite a lot on consoles. Also, they're not headshots, they're "Weak Point Kills" according to the medal I keep earning. What is the aim assist like? I just assumed I was crap at headshots because I turned it off.

I've started getting the hang of headshots again. I've been getting the silver or gold medal with snipers most of the time. What I have noticed so far is they seem to be less predictable. Cirvante mentioned up top that the weak spot may not be the epicenter of the face. I have had a couple that I thought were definite headshots that didn't count and a few that were definitely not headshots that did count.

It feels more like a reduction in look sensitivity this time around (as in, within a certain radius of the enemy's model, the game will slow your aiming down to help you "stick" to the enemy), as opposed to the game practically aiming for you like it did in ME3. I still haven't gotten used to how the weapons feel as a result, and the camera in general feels really loose/floaty, which can be frustrating when I'm trying to use something that relies on pinpoint accuracy like a Carnifex or Widow. I'm sure I'll adjust to it in time, but right now aiming doesn't feel anywhere near as good as it did in ME3, in my opinion.

I used the Black Widow 1 on my Asari Sentinel and carried a couple of Groups to Victory with it. You don't even need to do headshots to kill people with it on Bronze, it's great (and a tad bit boring, but great!). I'd run and reload everytime there was only 3 enemies left, otherwise I'd be camping the longest lane, or the highest point and just pluck those poor mobs off.

I think the hitboxes are bugged off host. When I was playing with the vanquisher last night off-host (roughly 200 ping) I noticed even though my crosshair was placed exactly over the enemy's head, it wouldn't be a headshot. Then I tried using the vanquisher on-host and I didn't have an issue with headshotting, it was just as easy as it was in ME3.

Headshots now are just as effective as if you take a shotgun to their big toe. Considering headshots ignore shield gating and evasion animations, that might be a slight exaggeration

I think MEA enemies may be faster. I have a harder time aiming in general. Maybe weapons are also less accurate? I am and always have been on PC, so no aim assist.
I have fond memories of my Carnifex popping cannibal heads.

Then I tried using the vanquisher on-host and I didn't have an issue with headshotting, it was just as easy as it was in ME3. Can confirm this is definitely a thing. I'm guessing that there's some amount of desync between client and host that makes it quite difficult to headshot anything that's not stationary. Even then, it's not a sure bet when you're the client.
