Actually if you let him go and tell him to be carefull next time, his wife starts asking questions, so later in cryobay we can meet him to know he is going into cryosleep because he told everything to his wife and feels really guilty, so he wants to wake up when nobody would remind him of his crime.
I thought it was pretty sad.

That was pretty cool actually. Your decision came to life, but only if you explored a certain area. Makes the world seem more real.

And if you exile him, you can find him on another planet. His wife stays with him and he says he's making it work and thanks you.
