Hey y'all,
Was pretty excited and considering picking up an XBone & ME:A, but the game got some pretty bad reviews. I might still be interested in the MP, but the reviews seem to be pretty mixed, and it seems like a total grind fest so far.
What say you? Should I starve my kids for a week & pick up the above (I can sometimes get free food at work, so I will survive to reproduce, if needs be)?

The MP is fun, but I'm not sure it's worth the full retail price of the game. If you can get it on sale or something, go for it.

It has a decent character creator, nothing to write home about.
Multiplayer is pretty good when it doesn't crash or disconnect randomly. If you were good at ME3 you can get into silver pretty fast and then gold once you get a good weapon (there aren't many.)

The quality of the game (with patches and free DLC) and its purchase price should converge in a couple months. I would buy it then if you aren't feeling the itch right now.

How have you not bought it yet? Don't have an Xbone Trust me buddy, it is worth it. Since the day it was announced this game was being made, I didn't have an xbone yet, so I promised myself that once this game released...that I would buy an xbone and the game and play them together. It really is good and worth it Jack. I bought my xbone at Walmart...picked up the basic version for $250. It's worth it my friend. |

If you are buying for MP make sure you have stable internet connection and connect via cable. consider upgrading your internet plan.
I've lost about 50 Mission Fund so far. Fighting was smooth but almost always disconnects while mission summary page is being loaded.

It's worth it, but not at full price considering all the bugs surrounding multiplayer, and if you're bothered by the wonky animations in single player. If I could rewind time I would have held off buying until they've fixed a lot of the issues. I know for sure now that I'll be purchasing future iterations of Mass Effect with that mindset.

I checked awesome. While I would not say flat out that is is 'awesome', I think it's good and really enjoy playing it a lot. I just wish I did not have to level up each character individually because that is going to deter me from playing some that I might have thought about trying but can't be bothered to grind something I might not use all that much. But the game is fun and solid.

I would wait it out and see if there are balance changes to improve the weapon effectiveness (only about 6 weapons are effective in Silver and higher) and make combo detonations more powerful. 90% of the weapons feel like spitting spitballs at enemies and combo detonations (lvl 6 primer and lvl 6 detonator) only take about 1/3 of the health of the lowest tier enemies on Silver.
Right now Melee is the best way to fight enemies if you don't have any of the good Gold/UR weapons.

It's kinda meh. Not quite as fun as ME3 was. The grind feels like it'll be much worse, and I don't think I'll be interested in the game long enough to see it through.
If I could go back in time, I wouldn't buy it.

I got a game key for €42 from an acquaintance but mustard race don't pay for online, remember that's a $60 or €60 game and must paying for 1 year online subscription to grind.
I spend money only because MP DLC content is free and not so cancerous as COD, paying $15 for 4 maps

I'm completely hooked by the SP now. I was really disappointed at first in the beginning but honestly, right now, it's the best in the series imo, it gets better and better and I can't stop playing, no joke. They nailed it on almost every aspect for once, it's incredible. The mp is fun too but me3 was better for me on that regard, it's still fun though.

To sum it up, the writing team was really divided on what choices actually added up to any real consequence, and it really showed in the ending. Minus the random nudity, and the exponentially gory bloodbath, it wasn't worth it. |
