Never gets old, hehe Yeah its because the misconceptions about bodybuilders and powerlifters / strongmen just wont die. Also, I did some squats. Another tip for anyone who gets shoulder pain when doing heavy squats (it hurts my shoulders) don't be afraid of going with a really wide grip width. Its MUCH better for the shoulders and as long as you flex your upper back there is no problem. A lot of people say you need to grip it shoulder width - if you can without discomfort go ahead and do it but if it hurts try a wider grip. I especially recommend it for low bar squats.

Anyway, contributing to the thread, I'll say that my body is naturally gifted towards strenght I guess, and less towards other body qualities like balance and agility. I mean, I was able to bench press 120 kg when I was around 16 years old. And gym was a side thing to us, just to keep our body well balanced. I stopped training competitively for any sport shortly after that age, and though I've trained seriously for some things at times in my life, I've never been in that shape again. Though since strenght comes with age too, maybe I would still be able to do that bench press, who knows. The thing is, even though I'm naturally gifted towards strenght, I've always felt attracted to sports in which strenght is only a part of what's needed, and sometimes a small one at that. Sports that would reveal how lacking my body is in other regards (as I said, balance, agility, coordination, things like that). Maybe that's some sort of sadistic joke of my mind, trying to do good in the things that are more challenging to me, but it is what it is. So now I'm stuck being in love with rock climbing, and having to get rid of all my beloved body fat (I LOVE to eat), and maybe even some of my muscles, just to get better at it. 'tis torture, torture I tell you! But you don't want excess fat in your body when you're climbing But I love it too much, so I'm trying to do the sacrifice

I've always really liked rock climbing, I did a lot of that back in my school days and thus can completely understand why people love it. I once considered to make it my go-to sport. In your case it sounds like its definitely worth the tradeoff.

I worked my arms earlier, I'll try again tomorrow after they rest a bit and see if I can do more.

Just make sure your muscles have enough time to recover properly. For most people thats 48 hours for the small muscle groups, 72 for the large ones.
And, if you feel masochistic you can throw a towel over your pull up bar, grab each end, pull up your knees to the chest and do pull ups that way. (Rope pull-ups) Now that one is hard but builds enormous grip strength. That pull up variant is my favorite and the one I do most regularly.

If the 210lbs slip out of your hands you're going for a trip to the hospital for sure.

Tried a new exercise today which I kind of invented myself. Thats doing front squats with a large dumbbell in my hands and on top of each repetition I stop and press the weight over my head (no leg drive). Leg workout combined with upper body at the same time = ultra win. Very good exercise for developing practical strength and skills at doing complex lifts. The only problem is, you need a good grip. If the 210lbs slip out of your hands you're going for a trip to the hospital for sure. Looking that picture makes me feel nervous, hope you have a good grip. My dumbbells are 13 and 20 kg and they usually wriggle a lot. I think that's all I can contribute to this thread.

I know it looks a little dangerous, good thing I have the grip strength of a vise lol. I'm actually more concerned about equipment failure, for example the thread of the nut breaking and unloading the plates onto my head. But that steel nut is probably strong enough to hold twice that weight.

I have been very diligent in my weight training over the last, oh say 8 months to a year. Unfortunately my diet is still a bit of a problem and that is preventing really good results. My arms are in pretty good shape, legs are in pretty good shape, back is pretty good, rest is a bit of train wreck.
