And it's funny because Destiny is essentially a big colorful pile of broken promises that went off the rails to the point where whatever narrative was left was just a bunch of sci-fantasy gibberish. It's a freaking blast to play. Especially with a group a friends. I put more hours into destiny than probably most the games I've played combined. The story is crap for sure but it's still a great game. Oh, who you tellin'? I've been playing since beta and haven't stopped since (on hiatus now thanks to MEA and waiting for the raid update) and I love rocking my veteran hammer titan. PvP is super addictive and rewarding. That said, I had very different expectations from this game.

Drew Karpyshyn, perhaps? He was still involved with ME2, I think. At least the writing part should be good. He is back at Bioware again, but he is working on some unknown project down in the Austin department. You know Kotor III! You heard it here first folks! Did you read his take on the Mass Effect ending and how he would have gone about doing it? Its a good read - www.pcgamer.com/mass-effect-3-series-former-lead-writer-reveals-original-ending-ideas/Sorry to burst your bubble about KotOR III. The new project BW works on since 2012 is a new IP. On the topic now, the ME franchise is not and wont be in the need of saving.

I want a remaster so badly for a simple reason: controller support.. For me, it would be to play on my ps4 and collect more platinum trophies(3)

Also keeping my expectations down destiny 2 as I know all the ideas my community has come up with won't happen.

Make the ending easy peasy? Ok.
Once the arms to the Citadel are fully opened, the crucible fires its bag of goodies throughout the galaxy destroying the reapers.
What the above does is it gets rid of the magic carpet ride up to lala land. It gets rid of the thing taking the form of a human child. It gets rid of the comment, "you do not know them, and there's not enough time to explain." It gets rid of the line, "synthesis is the final evolution of all life.". It gets rid of the shoot this, pull this and jump in this endings.
As far as redoing priority Earth. I would add Harbinger firing at the Normandy during the what-the-crap evac scene. I would not add a suicide mission since the beam run was a suicide mission. Everyone painted a bullseye on their chest for Harbinger to fire at.

How do you fix Mass Effect? Very simple. You sell the franchise to CD Projekt Red. Only half-kidding. No, you hire better writers and better coders. Easier said than done, I know.

Which is totally OK if you figure that there's no possible way to have their insane behavior throughout the trilogy make sense.

Hudson is a director, not a developer, and he is responsible for M3. Nope, we do not need him around. Just to note he was in charge on KOTOR, ME1 and ME2.

I don't think it's setting any records, or we would hear about it, but it's probably going to turn a profit. I honest don't think it will meet expectations, but I don't think it will fail either.
It's not fair to compare sales previous titles good or bad unless it's been less than 2 yrs. Think about how many more people there are with PC/Consoles now compared to when ME 1, 2, or 3 was released.

Hudson was pretty much done with Mass Effect. He wanted to move on and to be a part of new projects at Bioware and so he went on to Shadow Realms. And when that was cancelled there literally was not a saved < game > place for him to come back to.

Interesting since I never knew he was part of their new IP which is being made at their Edmonton studio . I always assumed that he was part of the Shadow Realm team since his departure pretty much coincided with it's cancellation. Now I have concerns about the new IP and why he lost his interest in it. And I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad kind of feeling lol

And I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad kind of feeling lol Well, frankly I would have looked for job placement elsewhere with how some "fans" reacted to video games. Not being happy with the product is one thing, but the news of what people have done to BioWare employees over the years is extremely problematic and could have a negative impact on who decides to work for them as well.

I am in the same thought of thinking it will turn a profit, I think even though EA said they expect to sell three million copies at launch (they did have pre-order numbers at the time) I don't think they expected it to be as successful as prior games since people still talk about the endings of Mass Effect 3. EA rarely says anything about their games good or bad unless it is in an investor's report. EA fiscal year for 2016 ends on Friday so we might hear something about it soon, but it might just be projections and we would have to wait another three months or anything concrete. Edit: Honestly the most we would see about Andromeda is if it broke initial sales records similar to how they talked about Inquisition having the best start of any BioWare game.

So Andromeda became a joke, isn't selling well and its lasting lagacy will be of a broken game. Not much you can do about that now, but the good news is there is hope for Mass Effect, EA. Hope inthe form of glorious remaster. Pick the trilogy up, remaster it in 4k and 60fps (or even 30 depending on the console), release it with all DLCs and more important than that CHANGE THE ENDINGS. Yes. That's the only way ME can come back from the grave. If it was up to me, there wouldn't have been a Extended Cut, I actually don't download it and my canon endings for ME3 are the original, but this isn't about me, well, it kinda is, it's about Mass Effect and how awesome it was and how it doesn't deserve to die like this. Rework the whole of priority Earth, make it the Suicide Mission 2.0 it should have been, and make the ending more pleasant. Let people be happy. Talk with Casey Hudson, he is an extremely talented developer, I'm sure he will agree with this. Maybe you can even keep the Starchild and the Reaper nonsense, people would have forgiven it if the aftermath was brighter. They would have then it will still do now. Best part is that this won't cost that much money and you even ask full price (just remember, ALL DLCs!). Do this very simple task right and ME will be back in strength. Then, you give Mass Effect to a very talented group of people and let them decide where to go from there. Easy peasy. I'm not sure whether the post was sarcastic or serious. But if it was sarcastic, it was a valid criticism. Here's hoping the negative reception of Andromeda from some of the old fans will serve as a reality shock for Bioware. They've proved they can make decent games. It's just a matter of stopping this recent trend of trying to turn a profit without investing in what makes the franchise great.

I wonder how the next game will develop...surely at some point they will have to explain what canon they went with in ME3....could they bring Shepard to Andromeda? Could they bring him there to clean up the mess that is going on in that galaxy?....thereby confirming the "destroy" option...haha..i'm half/joking, Shep's story has been told, but if the series can make a comeback by somehow creating some story of how cerb/tech and biotics has allowed him to survive all these years and make a somewhat believable story behind it...i can see it happening, if folks at EA/Bioware feels the series might need a throwback jolt to revive the franchise....
What can really save this franchise is if the next outing is as solid as the trilogy in terms of more refined character art direction and design and improved animations on par or better than the OT......not really too worried about Bioware writing a story because they proven they can deliver a half decent story. Even with Andromeda I haven't any key complaints in terms of story....it's been mostly about side quest issues and crafting issues.

To be fair, Destiny sold like hotcakes: lots and lots of millions sold. I'm the biggest optimist there is when it comes to Mass Effect, but even I'm worried about what EA are thinking in their money grubbing minds right now. I swear, if Mass Effect gets mothballed like Deus Ex, I'll fucking riot (real talk). It's true but most of the people I know refunded it (including me), they will probably make Destiny 2 better because they leared from past mistakes just like Bioware so you won't need to riot I think Destiny sold through 6.4m units in it's first month alone.....not to mention TTK and all the expansions up to 2.0...... it literally rolled up money, then proceed to jump on a trampoline and smoke it mid air and it was a new IP to boot... As a counterpoint, a good 1/8 of my friendlist is on Destiny when they are gaming still...pretty decent for a years old game IMO. Andromeda 2 can be amazing for sure, it's just getting EA to sign off on it, that's the hard part (pending full sales numbers)

Nah i rather have a sequel to Andromeda. The original games still look good and feels great to play, there is no reason to do a remaster or remake. QFT I heard there were rumors of an expansion on Andromeda. I'd rather have that to explore more worlds and have new stuff added to the main plot than revisit the trilogy. A remaster of the OT would be a nice bonus if it becomes a thing but not something that's really necessary.
