Andromeda Squad: How many and who?

I can assume we'll have a range from 6 - 12 squadmates

1 - 2 will be human

2 - 3 will be a new race

Without going into classes this I believe could be fairly accurate.

Human - Female

Human - Male

Asari - Strong Jaw - Pokemon

Salarian - Male

Krogan - Female

Turian - Male/Female (They might attempt to replace Garrus with that slot so another male Turian is possible)

New Race(1) - ?

New Race(2) - ?

New Race(3) - ?

Quarian - Male/Female (They might try to replace Tali with that slot so another female Quarian is possible)

Drell - Female

Geth - RoboJesus

I'm sorry if I misinterpreted your original question but I in a way I don't have a preference because the characters personality is what will be the more important to me in terms of characters & for combat I just pick whoever I want (me & 90%(not real percentage) of players) & work with that.

Seven huh? Didn't know about that. As for weapons, Shepard could carry 5 in ME3 so Ryder doesn't count.

I'm expecting 7 squadmates, i'm hoping for 8/9 personally but I enjoy larger parties.

Seven probably gives you enough chatter between them to avoid busting the Word Budget.

I saw the leak for Andromeda that said a squad of 7. This leak has been accurate for the name of our new ship, Tempest. I don't doubt it will be a squad of 7.

I agree with the sentiment that a relatively smaller group of around 7 is the sweet spot, especially if this game is going to stick to the old format of a 3-person fireteam.

5-7 squadmates would be ideal.

3 humans
1-2 MW alien races (krogan is confirmed, others I could maybe want in my team: asari/batarian/prothean)
2-3 Andromeda alien races
(1 synthetic)

Replayabilty, diversity, & longevity. Doing multiple playthroughs with different squadmates than you had in a previous run would give you a chance to hear different opinions on things. Plus if you only had two squadmates out of seven that you liked, than who's to say that if you were only given two squadmates (period) that you would like them. Plus people like different things, so characters that you like may not be a character that someone else likes & vice versa so having a cast of characters that have different things about them that some might like & some might not is a good thing (there is a chance that someone out there played the game & hated Garrus).

I like large groups, since you can craft even more takes on the story that way. The smaller it is, the more you're force to perceive it in a specific light.
