I have been waiting many years for this game to be released, since I have fond memories from ME3 MP, the most fun coop experience I ever had
I am not gonna debate about the beyond average facial animations or any of that shit, because I am enjoying the SP experience and IMO it's a good ( not excellent by any means ) game that runs smotthly on my PC.Story is OK and the ME vibe is still there, more than enough for me to invest 60 or 70 hours to complete the campaign
But when it comes to MP.......where do I start? ME3 MP was DOPE ( I put more than 3.000 hours ), because weapons and powers felt unique and powerful........after 12 hours playing MEA's MP I have given up, mostley because most of the weapons/powers feel absolutely like garbage, compared with ME3's ones, a game released 5 years ago.I dont know if it's the sound, the atrocious scopes on the snipers or the lack of punch but I am not enjoying this MP at all.Talon felt awesome on ME3, it feels like a turd on MEA.Same applies to Valiant, Widow, Black Widow and the list goes on.Hurricane feels great, but the lack of recoils makes it feel lees "real ".Powers? Except a few ones such as charge, that feels awesome , flamethrower or Pull, the rest also feel weak and uninspired...
PS:I forgot to mention the lag ( I have a 300/300) wired connection and 9 out of 10 games that I join are simply unplayable ( rubber banding all over the place ) and the atrocious grind that we are supposed to suffer if we want to get a maxed manifest.I dont have time for this.

Give it time. But MEAMP still isn't nearly as fun as ME3MP was.

It bothers me that they took out so many abilities and grenade variants and then proceed to give so many of the kits overlapping powers. 3 infiltrators have stickies, several classes have incinerae, 3 classes have turret, multiple classes have ed/overload/throw/lance etc. Where's the variety? I assume they just took them out because they wanna put them on dlc characters and were too lazy to think up new stuff but come on. We now have 3 grenade abilities when me3 even at launch had at least 5. And where is stuff like warp and reave, surely someone could have gotten that instead of garbage like lance/throw/pull? Where is adrenaline rush, why does everyone have turbocharge now? Etc etc the list really goes on. Many of the classes are very generic right now.

What really bugs me about this game, is that melee is more powerful than most of the weapons. This is immersion-braking, because it is so ridiculous. I mean, if punching someone in the face does more damage than your average firearm, you might want to have a serious conversation with the engineers who designed the fucking peashooter.

yep i agree, MEAMP, it's not as good as ME3P was, but i still like it, an i play it every day, there are other new great things, but i miss the cooperation, now cover is almost useless, and you cant grab and execute enemis from cover, in ME3MP we could cover more and cooperate, or just go together and combine powers, etc no everyone is running shooting, someone falls, and noone cmes to revive, the centnel's shield is
it's more fluid and fast now, but less coop, that's my point of view,
and there is almost no music now
i like the new character and their powers, and the weapons, and the change from tempest smg to charger, it's way better now, more accurate

I love that My most effective adept is a melee monster. Why spec into biotic explosions when af debunks and melee shield regeneration carry me thru the match...and I love it Yeah, the balance is trash right now. I mean the Juggernaut Shield makes every class a melee monster even if they are not spec'ed into melee damage. Now add in classes that get 20% shield back with every melee attack and compare that to needing to kill with a biotic ability to just get back a measly 10% shield and it makes you wonder why they didn't test the multiplayer before release. Are they really this clueless? And yes, the +75% melee damage bonus on Juggernaut Shield is excessive and should be nerfed. You know the Biotic Amp will be like a 10% bonus too.

I am thoroughly enjoying it right now, even with the lack of melee variety. I'm seriously happy that warp was replaced with Pull on the human adept - fully enjoying this character even if it lost the biotic palm strike melee in favour of the punch. In fact I really like that Pull is so much cooler in MEA than ME3 and far more fun to use - not to mention enemy design allowing for more freedom with crowd control powers (ie ascendants). Combat is by far superior to ME3 in most ways other than the loss of melee chain attacks. It's also superior to ME2 combat. (ME1 can't really be compared as is the combat was very different). My only gripe is I still haven't unlocked the kineticist...

The real kicker is that +20 % health back on melee ATTACKS...you don't even have to kill something with a melee....I literally tank Hydra's with my Atari Adept's Melee and AF... With all of the debuffs on AF, it dosn't take long I have had people ask me how the f*ck I was staying alive.

Agreed about powers. (I'm reserving judgment on weapons until I have more of the manifest filled out and the weapon mods maxed.) The tech powers made out much better than biotic powers. One does not simply remove Warp and Stasis--to call them iconic Mass Effect powers is an understatement. And no Reave, Dark Channel, Dark Sphere, Biotic Orbs/Seeker Swarm, Smash, Biotic Slash, Cluster Grenade, Lift Grenade? To quote James Vega, "Where's the meat?"
Then there's the cooldowns. Some of them are fine (Pull). Others are not. Entire nations could rise and fall in the amount of time it takes to use Singularity more than once.
Finally, the truly pitiful damage biotic combos do. If it's not a bug then it's apparent that there was a pervasive misapprehension of caster gameplay in ME3 among those behind MEA.

The melee spam builds are pretty ridiculous, I feel like only certain krogan classes, the duelist and the avenger should be great melee builds but as it stands every asari is a melee godees, human vanguard melee spam build is really dumb, and really every class can do a lot of melee damage with the right specs, like someone said, it's honestly immersion breaking and feel really lore unfriendly when guns are weak and melee is that strong and the asari adept is better as a melee character than a biotic, it's just dumb. The 20% shields gained per melee hit perk is ridiculous to be honest. I'd much prefer if they toned down asari melee capabilities a bit and actually made them good at biotics like they should be. Also the asari voice line where they say ''good game'' between rounds, what the actual fuck where they thinking when they put that in? Aren't they supposed to be on a battlefield? A lot of the voice acting in mp is bizarre/very bad but that one takes the cake.

I noticed biotic and tech combos aren't nearly as powerful as they were in ME3. They make a big boom but don't put a dent in enemies.

Melee right now is honestly in this place it should have been in ME3 - a situational yet still viable tool in your kit for generalist builds, and a viable primary damage source if you choose.
The problem isn't that melee is too good, the problem is that everything else is piss weak. In general, the level of weapon damage might need a slight raise (with a few obvious exceptions, looking at you Vanquisher). But the amount of damage you get from using the limited set of powers in this game just doesn't really cut it.

That and it's a bit depressing when you're laying into a mook or a boss enemy with headshots and only half or so are registering, particularly for fast-firing weapons or turbocharge-centric kits. :|

The weapons just need some buffs. That is all. Just give them some time to put the changes out. Hell, it has only been two weeks. Patience is the key.

Duh Thank you...i love how everyone is comparing a game that is less than 2 weeks old to a game that is 5 years old, has loads of added classes and weapons and has a playerbase with a loads of lvl X weapons and full mod loadout AND 5 years of playing and learning the ins and outs of the maps, combat, classes and skils. Its bloody stupid....something only people with no intelligence would do.

I do most damage with melee. Armour AND shields seem to have damage resistance against gunfire. Powers have long CDs - playing with pugs isn't as fun as result. I don't really see the point of shooting the guns against protected enemies and bosses. My one time venture into silver overstressed this even more. All I could do was trying to stay alive - in ME3 you could at least make an impact with the powers.
tbh, I'm glad at least the melees net me some kills. Limits my curiosity for diverse character selection, though.

One of the rank 6 evolutions of Pull does 600 points of shield damage on impact, so if the enemy has less than that amount of shields they will be lifted. So it does now have limited effectiveness against shields. Still does nothing to armour of course.

And with the amount of yellow bars in MP (from my ME3 experience) it's as good as useless.
