amoebae, I forgot to ask you before...do you use the in-game Temporal AA? I noticed that while it looks great for normal play, it introduces some ghosting artifacts something fierce in cutscenes. I can get the freecam to work in cutscenes provided I don't pause them, so I was hoping to get some great shots without that awful ghosting.

Been playing around with the Cinematic Tools and SRWE. First shot from Harval:

I haven't tried activating the camera (without pause) in cutscenes yet because they're never my priority, so I haven't seen the ghosting you're talking about. Have you turned off motion blur? Apart from the ridiculously awesome/terrible blur I'd get on hair/Jaal's cloak when pausing during movement, it also used to introduce some artifacts on Cora's hair even when she wasn't moving - because of the subtle hair movements that would happen when she idles. There's no toggle for it in graphics atm (although they're looking at adding one), but you can open a new text doc in your main ME:A folder, rename it to user.cfg, and add these lines: WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 0 WorldRender.MotionBlurQuality 0 WorldRender.MotionBlurMaxSampleCount 0 Cora's hair looks better now. It might help some of the artifacts you're seeing? I'm sure the TAA and motion blur interact to make things worse than they need be.

Someone is going to teach me how to find the vignette shader and make a toggle for it. If I manage it without breaking the universe I'll upload it. It'll do in a pinch until hattiwatti updates the tools. I'm using a reverse vignette from ReShade atm but it's fiddly as all heck and difficult to get right without colour burning the corners, and it needs adjusting depending on the aspect ratio. A toggle for the in-game vignette will be much better.
(Annoyingly, it's the one thing I like about Ansel's freecam - it removes the vignette. All vignettes must die. Evil, evil things.)

So, I have always looked at these types of threads and longed to be able to produce some of these shots without having to download a bunch of stuff and get a degree in 14 things to learn to run them (because I'm old, easily overwhelmed with high tech stuff and short tempered ). I know that my card is supposed to have Ansel for supported games and that Mass Effect Andromeda is supposed to be supported but, of course, it's not working. Are there suggestions for using it? Or should I just continue to admire everyone else having fun from a distance forever? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I see all sorts of funk with hair all the time...can't wait to try your suggestion! That being said, I just finished the main questline as well as a bunch of side stuff. So many people have already finished and I didn't want to have to avoid spoilers forever. Now I'm going to start over (going to try a pissed off biotic) and slow down for screenshots. My first Ryder was a charismatic sniper who was all about Jaal...it's going to be so hard to romance someone else this time around!

Or should I just continue to admire everyone else having fun from a distance forever? Thanks in advance for any advice. I've never had an Nvidia card so I know next to nothing about Ansel, except that it's pretty broken in MEA and the Cinematic Tools are superior. To start out with, you really only need that one thing, the Cinematic Tools - get acquainted with it first, and then slowly try out other things like SRWE or Reshade. See the second post in this thread for an introduction to those programs, amoebae explains things really well. Just download this and extract the files to a folder you'll easily find again. The Read Me file contains some info about the basic controls. Then start the game in administrator mode, start the tools in administrator mode, load a save and you're set.

The only shader I can't find is the one that controls the vignette. wtf? I'll keep searching. I really want to be able to get rid of it. I have, however, found how to hide weapons (for awesome character screenshots) and a couple of other things, so I'll see if I can knock up some toggles for those. No idea what I'm doing, but it's fun.

Thank you so much, I'm really fond of how that turned out - the faded colours in the middle make it look a bit like a water colour painting. It took SO LONG to get the squadmates to position themselves correctly. (And Liam is technically facing away from the object, not towards it like he was supposed to, but it's not too noticeable on the downsized version. *wipes off sweat*) I'm looking forward to your experiments with those toggles, even if you can't find the vignette, the weapon hiding sounds really useful.

I'm currently trying to get the one for rim lighting working. I found it, but the toggle isn't working atm. This is my first time doing this stuff, so I've probably screwed up somewhere along the way.

This thread is for well-composed high quality screenshots (with no hud, ect). I think there are probably other threads on the forum somewhere for gameplay snaps and glitches and the like.
