projectpatdc -- Please no shots with the HUD or from cutscenes. A link to another thread for all types of screenshots was posted above. We want this thread to be for those looking to improve and showcase their screenshot taking skills. My bad. On PS4. Once we get a photo mode they'll look more professional

Toy Nomad anyone? PS. When using free cam on the cutscene, my numpad key(which use for camera movement) seems to select the dialogue option, any work around on this? Thanks in advance!

Finally made it to Kadara. This makes me want to have those Kadara neon signs as my phone background so bad. I love the vibes this hub gives me.

PS. When using free cam on the cutscene, my numpad key(which use for camera movement) seems to select the dialogue option, any work around on this? Thanks in advance! You can fiddle around with the various "block input" options in the Tools and see if it helps. Alternatively, use a gamepad for the Tools. It's what I do. I play with kb&m, and I use a 360 controller for the freecam. It's a lot more comfortable doing it that way, too. I have Disable gamepad input checked, along with Keyboard, and Gamepad. I suspect if you check Disable all input the keyboard won't be recognised while freecam is active. I like to do it this way because, like I said, a gamepad feels more comfortable to use with the camera, but also it means I can unpause time while I'm in freecam and still move my character around, fire off powers, whatever, without having to close the camera and lose my positioning. Which also reminds me - as per the discussion above: I don't like to use the Lock to player option because it means I can't move my character while the camera is active, since the camera locks back in on my character automatically as soon as I do. I want to be able to keep my composition but unpause and move around so I can get into the right spot. Instead I hit reset. I have to tab out to change the fov back anyway, so it's not exactly a hardship. Whereas it is a hardship to constantly lose my composition. And tabbing out is fast anyway since I'm playing in windowed for SRWE.

I am so glad I found this thread. There's so much I want to do with this gorgeous game, but taking the first steps, learning new tools, can be overwhelming. I'd started with Ansel and was pretty happy with the results. . .until, like amoebae pointed out, I realized that my superres shots had none of the pretty, in-game effects. Now I'm tinkering with the CT, trying to figure out how SWRE works, and basically trying to get more fulfilling captures out of my rig. So, THANK YOU for this thread, and all the support (both technical and creative). Keep up the amazing photography.

oookay i apparently can't figure out how to post from Flickr. . . anyway, Havarl is the worst. so, that's mostly Lightroom. I haven't figured out ReShade or SRWE, so I tried to make do with the CT and Ansel. they do NOT play well together.

Andromeda Cinematic Tools SWRE ReShade Are you actually able to pause cutscenes? I pretty much get an insta-crash.

Are you actually able to pause cutscenes? I pretty much get an insta-crash. I can pause it, but unpausing instacrashes the whole thing so I still have to relaunch the game no matter what. bossuary - Exactly what CyberGHOST said. I copy the BB code and paste it into my post, but I will delete the part where it includes the title of my photos.

It might be worth seeing if using the time speed/game speed function in the tools makes it easier to work with cutscenes. I haven't tried it myself - I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has a go.

thank you Gilsa and CyberGHOST. is it uncouth to ask about people's ReShade settings or general processing? this is fairly new to me, and i don't want to step on any toes. i spent 15 years shooting and editing weddings, pregnant people, landscapes, and food. . .but game photography is a whole other animal.

bossuary -- Like you, I'm pretty new to it, too! Well, not with flycam, but I just started learning how to use the ReShade and SWRE about a week ago. I knew the HQ screenshot culture existed for years, but this thread gave me the push to really look into it. Deleted the filters I KNOW I won't ever use like vignette and sepia to cut down on the load time. I found a good tutorial that explained what each filter did. Most of the time, I go down the list and just play with sliders. I find that I consistently favor Levels, Filmic Pass, Technicolor 1 or 2, Vibrance, Monochrome, and LiftGammaGain. (Not all at once, just two or three at a time usually.) I can't get the hang of sharpening images via ReShade when it's super big so I just add in sharpen in Photoshop afterwards. Movie-poster-style screenshots like amoebae's Nomad, for example, is an artform that eludes me. I come here to be inspired like you do.

I don't think it's uncouth at all. I've been playing with ReShade with different games for quite a while now and for whatever reason, I was having a heck of a time finding that "sweet spot" to use as a baseline with this game. Amoebe was nice enough to send me her Eos set, which helped me greatly.

One of the tools I use a lot is the tuning palette, LUT textures in particular. I have a set of 18 LUT's that I swap in and out for different color shifts and contrast settings, and even some various monochromatic looks.

Come to think of it, I think mine is the same way. I can pause and use it, but then to unpause is when the insta-crash happens. Hmmm, the question now is it worth it? Definitely have to want it bad enough. I can't tell you how often I mistimed the pause and someone would be blinking or starting to speak. I was motivated for Dad Ryder though. I had a clear idea of what I wanted from him (his relationship with his child rather than him being the nifty badass leader -- I skipped all the parts where he interacted with the alien interface, as cool as the special effects were) so I reloaded all night to make it happen. For everything else, I write down ideas in a notebook for when/if flycam doesn't crash anymore or if I have the patience for it.

Yeah, I can think of a few occasions in the Jaal romance that yup, it's worth it, lol. Hopefully someday hattiwatti will update it to fix that issue. As Amoebe said, the DAI tool had issues with cutscenes for quite a while as well, and even in the end I still would crash now and again when I would pause them.
