^Try it and let us know the result! I would recommend backing up your save files first, however. Sadly, System Restore is apparently broken at the moment due to a recent Windows 10 update...caused by a specific app. I found tons of threads about it after I got the reported error twice. It has nothing to do with the game, but definitely is preventing me from being able to roll back the system. Apparently there are ways around it, but I'm not enough of a superuser to risk it. Microsoft supposedly is working on the issue. I guess I'll just have to wait and hope that Hattiwatti updates the tool. Ok, so I was able to find a process to get around the restore error so I was able to restore. BUT, it didn't work with ME:A...the update is still installed. Oh wells. Worth a shot. I guess I'll just be taking a break from the game...I really hope Hattiwatti updates the tool.

However, I don't think explaining in this thread is a good idea. I can PM you guys individually If you are interested in how to do it. Anyway, here's some more screenshots.

Just came to post that link. So happy I can update now. Is anyone using the new tools? How are they? Just as stable?
Edit: I've updated the tutorial thread with the new link and info about vignette and film grain controls.

Thank the Maker for hattiwatti. No vignette is Bandicam is playing up for me now I've updated. I'll try again tomorrow. I had use fraps, which seems to futz with my gamma a little. Everything's a little more sluggish too when taking screenshots - not sure if it's the tools, fraps, or the patch. Still, I'll put up with a lot if it means I can take screenshots of a game I enjoy. There's a b&w version of this at flickr.

CT working perfectly in 1.05, yay! Still can use it on the Tempst though but that's okay. Finally got around to do Peebee's loyalty mission. Here's some screen archery. Bonus picture Peebee of course

I'll test the updated tools tonight! Also, I tried using Reshade the other day with 1.05 and it worked but it made my game so slow. I didn't have any problems with the frames, it just took more than 5 minutes to load the game when I opened it and same thing when I went to load a save. I don't know if it's because it was the first time using Reshade in that game but... damn. That's so slow.

I don't know if it's because it was the first time using Reshade in that game but... damn. That's so slow. ReShade always makes things a bit slower, particularly to boot the game. You come to expect it. It's loading all the shaders, you see. If you're using version 3.0.x you can delete all the shaders you don't want to use, and it'll speed things up a little bit because it won't be searching for them and loading them each time the game renders. The thing about taking screenshots in general is you learn to take things slowly. ReShade slows things down. SRWE slows things down (you have to wait for the higher resolutions to load if they're large enough to tax your system). And of course just using the Cinematic Tools slows things down, because you're taking your time to get all the elements right for the shot. You can easily add on an extra 30% to your usual game time if you're taking screenshots. Easily. My first DA:I run was well over 200 hours, and the Cinematic Tools didn't come out right away for that game, so I didn't take screenshots at all for quite some time.

I don't know if it's because it was the first time using Reshade in that game but... damn. That's so slow. Let me start by saying I have no experience with reshade or any of the other tools you guys are using... But the load issue maybe a bug. Ever since the last update from time to time when I launch a the game it takes forever to load. And if I let it go it will load slow on every transition from then out and any load games from then out. I have started opening task manager and closing the game when it starts slow, and restarting. And the game works fine. Doesn't seem to happen real often. But enough that I looked for a way around it. Like you the game worked fine, just any load would take a couple minutes. Anyway as I said I don't use any of the programs mentioned so the person maybe right and it is just a reshade problem. Just thought I would throw this out there since it sounded similar to my problem but I don't use any of that stuff.

Bandicam still won't work for me after patch 1.05. Fraps is an inferior solution because it doesn't capture ReShade accurately (plus it's slower to capture pictures).
What is everyone else using?
Edit: I've downloaded MSI Afterburner and that seems to be working just fine. It seems just as fast as Bandicam.
Also, you can take CinTools shots on the bridge of the Tempest, but you have to get there manually. Press pause, enable the camera, but don't click reset and don't have 'Lock to Player' checked. You then need to set a really high camera speed (I set about 50) and head to the sun in the distance. Then fly into the sun. The Tempest bridge is in there, same as when you activate Ansel on the galaxy map.
I haven't tried elsewhere on the Tempest yet. I expect it'll just be whichever room you're in that is rendered somewhere in the galaxy map - maybe in the sun again.

Proof: The CinTools dof only works outside the window. I can't get ReShade's dof to work on the Tempest (2.0.3). The CinTools vignette controls seem to do nothing, that I can see anyway. Everything else seems to work fine. I think the reset button just throws you back out into deep space where the camera sits when you are pulled out in the system map, but dark, which is why it seems like it doesn't work. It doesn't recognise you, the player character, as the zero point for the camera, but rather your point of view when looking at the map, regardless of whether you're using the map or not. At least I *think* that's what's going on.

So far Bandicam seems to work fine for me...not sure if it makes a difference between the free version or not? Could it be that Win 10 actually has something going for it? I'll report back if I notice that it's not working dependably or something.

No matter, MSI Afterburner seems to be working just fine, with no lag in taking the shot like I had with fraps. I like that Bandicam is so small and light, but Afterburner doesn't seem to be causing any problems so fingers crossed. The Tempest seems to be giving me more frame rate drops post-patch. Annoying, but not a huge problem. The Cinematic Tools work as above on all other parts of the Tempest. You're inside the sun, like on the bridge, but you can't see it when you activate it. Keep the hud turned on, face an interactable E button, pause the game, enable freecam, and navigate towards the E and you'll eventually pop up in the ship. Not all areas load at the same time. The hanger, drive core room, main corridor, vid com meeting room, and r&d/strike team room all load together, as do any squad mate rooms off those as long as the doors are open. If you try to go into the pathfinder quarters though, for example, it's just a black space.

ReShade's dof does work on other parts of the ship, btw. Not sure why it wouldn't work for me on the bridge - I may have been screwing up somehow. The CinTools dof still only works outside the window, though.

I use Afterburner for my overclocking and fan profiles but I didn't particularly care for it for screenshots. I've tried it with other games and found that it wasn't always reliable. In addition, I don't like that you have to install the extra RivaTuner Statistics server in order to use those functions. If you don't care about screen capture or an on-screen display, you can install just the base AfterBurner, which is nice.

It's a heck of a lot faster to use than fraps - I've noticed no difference between it and Bandicam in the short time I've been using it so I'm not too worried. Maybe Bandicam will mysteriously start working again for me at some point.

I think I just had to toggle the enable and disable button a few times to get reset to come back to my character. But it worked eventually. I actually started playing the game with the focul length zoomed in it looked like I was playing in first person view. I had big issues with tabbing out of game, but today it worked just fine. Can't really play with focus if the game puts itself into a tiny window every time you tab out. Looks like you are writing a Times piece on your salarian pilot there :-)
