THE best melee character?

AA hits many many times with 'cancelling', though I'm pretty sure cancelling is just very badly implemented code resolves, because this game is completely full of laggy code, and I don't mean net code.

Bunch of us did a gold all Kroguard run, levels 11 to 15, very, very little weapons used, all charge/melee.Nova....it was a blast. Wish they had more character voices like in ME3 but these kits tank

Silly me, nothing stopping me from doing both I suppose. Are there any other kits, including ones I haven't unlocked yet that are melee centric?

I'd argue vanilla human vanguard. Barrier passive get 20% shields on melee hit is the key. HV gets that and biotic charge insta refill shields. Unless he gets sych'd or chain staggered he is nigh unkillable.

My fav is the Krogan Gladiator by far.

Asari adept probably, every gold game I take out that build the clear times tend to be really fast. Much better than any krogan in my opinion. I have the gladiator as well but the adept is much better imo, barrier passive tree shits on rage.

Human vanguard and asari duelist are good too but the 40% debuff on annihilation field means stuff is gonna die faster with the adept in the lobby so that tips it in her favor in my opinion.

My God, Asari are the best melee fighters!

I quite like the Human Vanguard, faster more maneuverable than the Kroguard.

I prefer the Angaran Avenger. Specced to melee with jugg shield and a melee enhanced shotgun. It's my favourite class right now.

i know, it's only on silver but still, it's an awesome melee class.

The minimal requirement of a melee character is: You don't die doing melee. The damage from melee comes second.

To do melee in gold charge skill is a must. If you try to sprint or jump around to do melee in gold you will always be dead. When you die as a melee inside a group of enemies(where you wouldn't die in the first place if its 1v1 or 1v2), it means that your teammates have to take a lot of risk to rescue you. So 3 characters have charge:

Asari Duelist
Melee Damage after charge: charge 5A + 30%, Offensive Biotic + 50% = 80 %
Regular melee damage: 125%
Total Optimal Melee Damage = 205%

Survivability
- Charge: recharge all shields after charge
- Barrier 6B recharge all shield under 25% health
- Charge Sheild for 30% with each melee
- Can evade through wall

Krogan Vanguard
Melee Damage after charge: charge 5A + 30%,
Melee Damage extra while Rage activate: + 50%
Regular melee damage: Rage 70% + Fortify 30% + Rage 5B(complicated) cap + 65%
Total Optimal Melee Damage = 245%

Survivability
- Charge: recharge all shields after charge
- Fortify: resistance + 70 assuming 6B = 58% damage taken

Human Vangaurd
Human vanguard is a bad mix of with skills of Asari Duelist and Krogaurd, the two are better in any comparison.

Asari Duelist has 2 active and 1 passive ways to fully charge sheild, while Kroguard only has 1 way to charge actively, however Kroguard only takes 58% of damage. Kroguard is arguably a little bit better in survivability.

Although on paper Kroguard looks like it could do more melee damage, Asari Duelist is the winner in melee simply because of its melee animation:
- Her raw melee damage a little bit higher than Kroguard
- During the melee animation she becomes invincible for a short time while Kroguard doesn't
- Her melee animation is locked on the target so you would not miss IF YOU AIM THE CROSSHAIR AT YOUR ENEMY (some will complain that her melee always miss, i guess they forget to aim)

Since the Kroguard is just uncommon in rarity you can max it out pretty soon. The Asari Duelist is Ultra rare which you know you probably will never be able to max out. If its a Krogaurd X vs Asari Duelist II ( min lv to get 61166), I would say Kroguard is better. But if you can get Asari Duelist X then it would surely be better.

Charge is not remotely a must for a melee character in Gold...
