Asari Adept is probably the best because at the end of the day you provide 40% damage boost for your group while still being a competitive puncher.

I had the luck to get Asari Duelist II which is basically all you need to max out Charge, Offensive Biotics and Barrier, then I packed Jug Shield and tossed in Dhan IV and it's hell of a fun.
Basically you can kill anything which is not Hydra/Destroyer/Ascendant/Berserker/Fiend in a charge and a couple of slashes in Gold and with porting through walls and Asari Sword + Charge iframes, you can pretty much stand in a crowd of shit and actually make it (or GTFO dodge through wall or Charge if shit is too hot). Also another cool thing is that Asari Sword comes with a short range teleport, with a bit of practice you will be porting from one target to another in a pod without even needing to move.
I prefer to focus on killing all the trash because you can kill off these quick and leave the teammates to deal with beefier shit, it's simply more effective really, such guys like Anointed are also trash level, they are pretty weak against this build, first you tank them with invulnerability frames, then stun them with Biotic Warrior trait and they are harmless as kittens.
I suspect other melee characters and builds are also pretty cool, but I just dig this charge in and start blinking around cutting shit with a sword.
Hydras and shit like that - better leave to others, the time you waste on these, you could have easily killed a shitton of trash instead, which really is a better plan, while Infiltrators and such focus on beefier guys with their Vanquishers and other shit like that. Except for maybe Ascendant where two well placed shots of Dhan + Lance can pretty much pop orb and let your team nuke that shitter.
I have no doubt there is even better melee focused character, but Duelist is a whole lot of fun regardless.

Novaguard is a tank to me in gold just walking and punching and charging for shields I like charge more for surviving then the Asari adept for some reason I'm gonna spec her back to BE'S.
I'm still waiting on the duelist so I can put the Novaguard away.

Why would you even want to melee, when you can do Turbo Charged DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA with the Thokin? Makes no sense! Variety, my man, variety!

My fav is the Krogan Gladiator by far. Same. I want to start my own Krogan baseball team. Pull enemies to you, hit them with big stick and watch them fly.

Human vanguard seems better than the kroguard at the moment. The Headbutt is either too slow or has a wonky mechanic that makes repeat headbutting difficult to do cleanly. At least compared to the human's fast, shield boosting melee.

Asari adept with vortex gives zero fucks. With one punch most everything that is shielded becomes unshielded.

Pretty good mileage from my Asari Sentinel so far. What about the Duelist? She has the same setup as my SP character, I think.

I'm curious to build an asari adept melee. I can already comfortably farm gold with my human vanguard but I'm keen to switch things up a little.
What melee focused builds are people using? Rank 6 annihilation, I've seen both choices used. Is there a clear winner?
Thanks for all advice and any gold build links.

Thanks for your input. Anyone want to agree or disagree? I felt as though shield would be the way to go, but having all mooks helplessly floating around you would be a useful CC mechanic and team play mechanic - they can't be shooting you while floating which reduces the punishment your shields get in CQ...

I'll have to double check, but I thought it was only on unshielded and unarmored enemies. Which they all die from one melee hit anyway. I also am building, when i get more cards, to have the shield consumpting javalin/spear/ whatever its called, move. Plus you get support points when you give shields.

I've heard of this build but taking shield to use a power kind of goes against the build I was trying to go for. Hopefully you have fun with it!

I actually like Vortex tbh I feel like all of the enemy's in gold that are regular grunts melt you with AR's they use they are like the most dangerous to me with the lag getting shot threw walls is scary. I just dash at them to make the vortex takeover then punch or BE's.

I love the Human Vanguard, don't have the Duelist yet but I wouldn't call him the worst of the 3. People forget or must not know your invincible during a Nova and popping a Nova can and will save your ass if your Charge hasn't come off cool down yet this is especially handy to know if your playing either Human or Krogan Vanguard.
While he doesn't hit as hard as either they all deal an absolute assload of damage regardless and Human Vanguard also has the benefit of stagger from Shockwave as well, he is also a very easy class to max unlike the Asari Duelist.
You want to max Nova and leave 1 point into Shockwave, I specced Nova for Armor damage(you could go shields, as we all know by now all abilities deal next to no damage on Gold so pick which ever you think is better) with the tier 6 perk the knockdown that primes (you don't actually have to knock anything down and it will just prime anything it hits) follow that up with a Shockwave and you can set off multiple Biotic Explosions by yourself (which will be very handy if abilities and combos ever get buffed, but I use it as short CC as both Nova and Shockwave stagger)
Main strat for ultimate survival is to just charge in punch until your shields are about to give way and Nova(you invincible during the animation), if you know where your getting shot from and there close turn to face them pop a shockwave and just charge the next target, and repeat until everything is dead.
Human Vanguard is the only Vanguard that isn't just a one trick pony, unless you somehow already have the Asari Duelist X and have Backlash or Lance maxed out.
