Anyone else going slow and hoping for facial animation patch

Nope.

My gripes with the game cannot be fixed with a patch. The animations whilst questions in places, and downright terrible in others, are good enough overall and on par with previous Bioware escapades, my issues are with pacing and general game design (I like my mass effect more linear and story focused rather than exploration focused).

Still thoroughly enjoyed myself by the end of it though so any actual improvements they make are a welcome bonus.

If an animation patch ever happens then it won't be any time soon. We'll see what their plans are on the 4th.

Nope. While I would definitely welcome a facial animation patch that improved a lot of the "dead eyes" and things like that, I highly doubt it will ever happen. So I'm just enjoying the game as much as I can right now. If they do patch the facial animations, then I will be pleasantly shocked.

I have not heard of facial animations being patched before, so I am not going to hold my breath. It doesn't even bother me either since I am mostly looking at the subtitles anyways. I do like the voice acting, which makes it pleasant to listen along while I read.

Typically how it works is they set what certain moods look like, then designate lines to use those moods and to what degree. They aren't manually keying eyebrows and corners of mouths on a case-by-case basis. It would be work, but it would be very doable. It wouldn't be cutscene quality, but it would be a big help.

All the people having fun and not worrying about facial animations disagree with you.

Of course I'm hoping for a fast fix, but before that I would rather have quests and everything else working as it should.

Loudmouths do not a majority make.  The PC gamer half of this meme is so true.  And I have no doubt that the vast majority of complainers are PC gamers.  And before you even say it...I play on PC.



But do feel free to think a few whiners are representative of anything.  I'm sorry it bruises your little ego that people have caught onto you enough to know that no matter what you guys would have found some complaint to latch onto and bitch about.

I've been a gamer longer than most of you have known what a PC is and I've seen "gamers" evolve into a narcissistic lot who try endlessly to show how cool they are by saying how much EVERYTHING sucks...games...movies...tv shows....absolutely everything sucks.  I mean it has to if it doesn't measure up to your standards, right?

I'll also tell you right now, you better grab a tampax for announcement day, they aren't going to redo the animations.  At best you might get a few tweaks in the worst cases.

I don't really care how long you've been a gamer. I work in the industry - don't see me championing that, because it's just as irrelevant. 

If you want to believe that it's somehow the minority, that's cool. If I was a fanboy like you who had a hard time accepting valid criticism of my favorite game, I'd be a bit nutty like you too. 

But that valid criticism is everywhere - whether it's here, on reddit, twitter, facebook, or on metacritic, or YouTube, etc. It's widespread and constant. So there's definitely something to it. Go look at the replies of the tweet too. 

And also, try reading up bud - I'm pretty sure you know where you can stick that tampon, seeing as I've said here multiple times that there's no way they are going to patch an entire facial fix. 

EDIT - Good thing my primary platform isn't a PC.
