Poll: Your ideal Asari squad member.

Merc? How does that work? Do they have some kind of currency converter, to exchange *ahem* Milky Way galaxy credits into whatever monetary system they use in Andromeda?  "Credits" or "Creds" or whatever from ME1/ME2/ME3 is going to be worth about as much as Confederate currency after the civil war ... in other words ... bupkis.

Money ... whether paper, electronic or metallic ... is of symbolic value and holds little to no intrinsic value (gold, diamonds, platinum, etc. have some industrial value which pales when compared to their symbolic value) ... but you have to have somewhere to spend it. Not sure the Ark ship commissary is going to be the shopping dream of every Asari (and Krogan, Human, Turian, Salarian) merc out there.

Someone with a merc background might be interested in the adventure ... but for the credits? No. I guess the mercs could resort to a barter system ... pretty clunky.  And would you really want to hire a merc who was dumb enough not to have figured this out, before departing the Milky Way?

So if Bioware has mercs in MEA, they are going to have to provide some plausible reason for mercs going along for the ride ... other than the pure entertainment value of watching a clusterfark unfold in a new galaxy.

Except that the currency only has "currency" with a small group of folks ... folks who are resource poor ... and has no value, elsewhere in the galaxy you're in.

If you're a merc, you go hire out to whomever in Andromeda, who can pay in Andromeda credits.

As a merc, you really don't care how hard the "galactic council" on the Ark ship stomp their collective feet ... your "Milky Way credits" are worthless outside the ark ship.

Real world example.  I have Syrian currency.  It is of no value outside Syria.  For me, it is a memento of time I spent there, but it has no intrinsic value ... none ... unless I go back there, to try to spend it.
