I'm seeing her more as an unlicensed acquirer of illegal items: basically akin to a tomb robber. We've already had Liara as an archaeologist and as much as I love archaeologists and science, I'd rather see something different for this asari and I'm getting the impression she is a reverse of Liara so tomb robber would fit.

I'd obviously like an Asari commando like Shiala but seems like the Asari character from the trailer is going to be a major character. Hopefully i won't find her quite as annoying as the trailer made her seem to me.

I wasn't talking about occupation, but about personality. BioWare characters are recycled every game (pretty much). And since this is probably this games "Mission Vao", I'll reserve my squad spots for other characters.

Well.....I'm surprised at myself, but that actually sounds interesting. As long as they keep her in character and do NOT let the PC romance her, except as one of those lovers on every station. If they'd give us such a character, only to have her find "true love" wtih the protagonist in the end, I'd puke.

Knowing Bioware, I'm afraid that's exactly what would happen.

Well, the premise of the game implies we'll focus on that part, though I don't think the team will be composed only by those type of characters.
As long as it's a good character, I don't honestly care about her personality/occupation. Though that means I don't care much about which species are rapresented in the team.
The asari, from the little info we have so far, seems a toned down version of Sera mixed with some scientific knowledge. I'll wait until we know more before judging her.
