I have hit 6 hours in MP, doing all Bronze so far, an reaching Level 15. My experience right now is that I would not go Silver till I can spec my abilities to strip shield and armor, because it's really nearly impossible to do anything at all against it without powers amplified for it.
I was building a character by ear, so I will need a couple more levels to finally get it, but if I am more focused, I think I can make the next char work about that level.
So, I understand that we level each character only once now, and with better weapons and ammo, eventually an average Jane like me can hope to advance a character to Silver a touch earlier.
Still, feels a bit too long to build up the char to a power level, and tbh I am tempted to forget levelling other chars, the way I did in the previous MP, at least for a while.
Should levelling be speed up a touch? Like 25% or something?
yes? No? Don't care?

Mission teams gives you xp bonuses. Leveling takes time but you get to slowly go from bronze to silver (level 8ish) to gold (level 15ish) all depending on your character, teammates and weapons playing the character. Leveling, testing and respecing are all part of the process. And once you do get to 20, there is NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO need to promote as you get nothing and 15mp gets you a respect card in the store... so a little slow leveling with no need to promote is fine..

I was using xp boosters and it took me 3 days for my Saladian Infiltrator to get lvl 15. It's true I didn't play as much as I could have but maybe that's because this game somehow isn't as fun as ME3 used to be. Feelsbadman, I got really bored with him by that point. Posting obligatory meme.

I am tempted to do it all on Bronze to simply have the baseline. I used 5 level 1 boosters as well from level 11 to level 14.

It is a grind. But I know that once a character is at 20 its done. And if you never play gold or silver, I mean, you just won't level fast at all, but why do you even need to worry about it? Level 1 characters are perfectly fine on bronze. A level 20 is just OP and not even fun anymore. Use characters that are stronger and easier to carry with until you unlock some good gear and weapons... Hell you can biotic charge your way through anything on bronze except two enemies that might sync kill you from kept in waves 5 and 6...
When I use a new level one character and play a game of bronze to start leveling to move to silver I get bored. I run around the map looking for enemies and there are barely any. Its like a game of hide and go seek... boring AF.

Meh, bronze was too slow in credit earnings and a bit too easy (we're mostly literally competing for kills), silver feels much more right. But I have to say in terms of xp not much better. Play silver, buy basic packs, get all basic characters and weapons to rank X and you can start playing them with level 1 on silver without any problems. You're also likely to meet better teams in silver. Fuck bronze.

If they are hard on Bronze, on Silver it will be like they were when I started on level 1 with Avenger 1... basically can't do anything vs them. And well, picking mooks off hoping that other guys can kill the bosses is all nice and good till everyone else does the same.

Incendiary ammo/powers help too. Or just ignore and find better targets (always works in MEMP). Jokes beside, melee does fully bypass armor damage reduction. At least it did in ME3. And people laughed at me when I was kicking Atlases. It works, guys.

It takes a while, especially the last levels. Good thing is though you can easily play with a Level 1 kit on Gold if you have one of the few useful weapons and all character cards. Well you can do it without the card, just not as easily

Yes, the tip says that any slow RoF will do, but since the Sniper Rifle is one thing I will never be able to learn, I think, it's either powers or incendiary. On Bronze, Incendiary I did little to armor. So, by extension, Incendiary II will do little to armor in Silver. Hence, gotta wait two more levels until Shockwave will do more against armor to stand the chance. I believe in coming prepared :)

Well you can do it without the card, just not as easily Agreed. If you have a good weapon you can go into any silver match with lv 1 chracter. I just use my Nanlden II like that to level up new character quickly. On the other hand, some character does not need weapon at all, like the vanguards. Therefore my quickest way of finishing the game is: start by getting a character that does not need good weapon, boost it to lv18+, go for gold mission, get Expert or Premium packs for good weapons and turn back to train the weapon dependent characters that I like.

Thankfully I have a friend to play with. We levelled up in Bronze/Silver on one character each then went to gold to finish them off. We hosted so we just sat and waited for a couple of players to join who were not bothered by our low(ish) level.
Now we are taking it in turns to level each others characters. We host gold with one of us on a lvl 20 character who carries the other on a lower level and a couple of randoms or other friends. Thing is that powers and combos are not as powerful as in ME3 so if you have a decent gun you will generally be useful at any level. People are quick to try and kick anyone under level 15 but it's down to individual player skill.
Maybe you can post in the LFG thread, there may be friendly people who are willing to help you get a few levels because DAMN it's slow going. Even on gold with boosters equipped it will take a good few matches to reach level 20.

Well, I'd think that it would be a touch more enjoyable for me personally at least, if I could play in a bit more relaxed style, with a bit better immediate gratification in terms of levelling. I do like being attached to my SP characters, but I got used to character surfing in the old MP. Oh, well, I guess, I will treat my Adept as a Main.

On the other hand, some character does not need weapon at all, like the vanguards. Works pretty well in MEAMP, though. Probably because the weapons are mostly shit and you can actually do a proper melee-focussed build this time around.

Gee, and here I was thinking that leveling characters was going too quickly, lol.
Then again, I never played me3mp or anything, so I don't have anything to compare to.
I maxed all my vanguards pretty quickly though.
Yeah, I'm a melee guy everyone hates...

You are quite mistaken here. You don't needed to be anything special to play platinum in ME3 multi. Just the best guns/kits. Plus Andromeda gold isnt harder then me3 gold. ME3 gold is harder in my opinion, andromeda gold is nowhere near ME3 Platinum. In ME3 platinum waves there are many bosses, and factions mixed together. Sometimes even 4-5 bosses at once. Imagine 3 Remnant destroyers with 2 Kett Ascendants on the map combined with 2 Remnant Nullifiers with 2 Kett Annointed 2 Kett Destined still combined with some standard enemies at the same time. That would be Andromeda Platinum for you if we are talking about something similar to ME3.

And I have never played Platinum. To be honest, I did not really want to pug even gold, let alone platinum, or strove to get the full manifest, as I did not expect to clock a few hundred hours. I did not run into the progression woes until about 100 + hours in after I started to experience the need to get the 99K packs which basically meant I need to pug gold to keep up. That's what I miss, I suppose, the more rewarding experience for a scrubby player. I think it sort of pushes you to up the tier too early to at least see the levelling rewards, if not the goodies. If we do not need to relevel, will it hurt anything to slightly up the speed of levelling?

It's fine for me. It's going to take an extremely long time to level everything up to 20, but then again everything in this game takes an extremely long amount of time to accomplish. Whether it's this or maxing your inventory, you can be sure that you'd need to invest hundreds of hours if you're looking to go that far. That's what this game is about, and I'm okay with that.

Figuring out how to build a character with synergy that takes a little experimenting. unfortunately me:a guns are really bad in general, unless you have some of the good ones that really is limiting your ability to play. Also please note, im a pc user. I will not play shooter games on a console. Ever. So if you are playing on ps4/xbox i don't know what to say.

Nobody hates melee; people don't like players who do not do objectives and overextend to an irrelevant area of the map on objective waves. Quoted for the objective and undiluted truth. Couldn´t have put it better. on Topic: I have clocked in 27 hours in multiplaxyer right now, mostly doing silver. I only have 2 kits at 20 and roundabout 5 kits at 10. The leveling speed is very slow and I will probably never ever ever ever reset a character class in MEAMP.

Also please note, im a pc user. I will not play shooter games on a console. Ever. So if you are playing on ps4/xbox i don't know what to say. I am on PC, and your position comes from a good player's pov. My experience had been that going between tiers in ME3MP required mastery of certain things before you could advance and feel confident. Some of those skills were inaccessible to me (rifles, reliable reload cancel and above average spatial awareness) so pugging gold was not an option for me, because why depend on a carry when I am solidly qualified for Silver. In Andromeda I am not even bothering to try sniper rifles, which is a huge handicap atm, and I lack the level of agility of the really good players that have way better control of gaining the high ground and maintaining the verticality. I am a scrub, but I am neither delusional, nor stupid. It's nothing new. There are players who can carry pretty much anyone; who can hold their own in a group where everyone does; and who can be carried when willing to try; and those that cannot be even carried past a certain level. I prefer to play at a level where I can and will feel like a contributor in a pug, rather than hoping someone with skilz will be in a lobby I hit on a higher level.
