Coming from ME3 MP as a veteran player rocking a GI Javelin and also Black Widow and Widow. Could kill mooks of all types with a single headshot "one shot one kill". You can't miss but if you did well at least you could "cancel reload". What was BW thinking the reload is absolute GARBAGE it takes massive amounts of time to reload, take out a bullet from "pocket" lift the arm towards chamber and take your time place bullet in chamber then grab the lever and pull it "click" so i run but no F*cking bullet WTF so here is the correct way once the bullet is in the chamber the guy needs to return to default stance before you can fire!! Holy cow to many times ive had this issue.
Some times your in a pinch situation and no cloak its either cover or run or fight back and there are times the only option is fight back well thx to the uber slow reload you pretty much toast. On the contrary in ME3 quick reload and get rid of the treat.
ME3 regular reload is miles faster i want to kill as many mooks as possible but the game mechanics wont allow this its a TERRIBLE design it should be a progression instead of decay. It's also about fun no need for "realistic" approach as close as possible without people getting REALLY upset then there would be no point in sniping.
Another issue is from cover 7 out of 10 you can aim from cover then shoot but at times i aim nothing happens "so wait a sec bullet in chamber? YES" and no one is near me to be the culprit.
More issues and most by now know this even a weak enemy trooper off host flat out 100% headshot but i only get 50% damage odd so next time il shoot at body from full health and he dies. How the game recognize damage is pure garbage at times i can single headshot a fully shielded enemy i have no clue why that is....
Oh im using a Widow 9 with sr 3 barrel, sniper rifle amp 2, and vulnerability 2 or 3 with the Salarian infiltrator. A similar setup would kill most mooks even phantoms with a single headshot 100% and that on gold and platinum!
Solutions either bring back quick reload or give us a permanent gear like the ones you can buy with mission funds a gear that reduces reload time by HALF, no need for cheap tricks as a consumable item.
No wonder if i see people with snipers its most of the time Vanguisher yeah 5 shots magazine its more like a scoped rifle then a proper sniper.
Oh god this game needs allot of fixing im hopeful these issues and much more will be fixed in due time. If youre a single shot sniper user you want one shot one kill including shielded enemies not 2 shots! Allowing the chance to miss just because the enemy ducks right at the moment you fire. Enemy still alive this means reload and by the time he is gone or some damn DOG is humping you from behind!

I do agree they have to increase the reload time, so we are not reloading twice because the simplest movement screws it up. I would also like reload canceling back as well. If they only give us one though, fix the reload issue, so I am not reloading twice. Also fix the off host hit box issue.

Vanquisher's more of a DMR than a "mere rifle" which alludes to assault and battle rifles.
Widow, Isharay and the like are comparable to Anti-Material Rifles. So something firing .50 BMG or worse. There are 20mm Anti-Mats in the world.

So currently the only true DMRs in the Sniper class are the Vanquisher and the Viper. The Black Widow is just it's own category basically.(Yes, I know it's an anti-material rifle, but it lacks the punch of the one round rifles.) Edit: I am trying to avoid real world comparisons aside from anti-material because they are not 1 to 1 since even bolt actions can fire faster then the one hit rifles.

I think single shot sniper rifles are like many other weapons in this game in that they are terrible until fully upgraded at rank X & rank X barrel.
I was using a Widow for the gold APEX mission today, which was a sniper rifle boost, and there I saw the potential for single shot sniper rifles to be super fun again. I was 1 shotting everything but Berserkers and Hydras, and 2 shotting the Berserkers. Perhaps eventually, when I have an Isharay X/SR Barrel X and some sniper rifle amps to throw away, I will be able to replicate these results.

With a 1 shot sniper there is absolutely no reason to spec for it. Without it the cooldown of TC will be affected by time cloaked, so usually you will get a 4-5 second cooldown if you cloak and fire. With Combat Cloak you'll always get the full cooldown.

Fixing the hit-box and penetration issues is an absolute must, I agree. No reload-canceling is a shame, but I've sniped without that for a long time and didn't have any problems. Considering that it WAS a glitch which the devs eventually acknowledged as "clever use of game mechanics" most likely because they couldn't fix it, we shouldn't have been at all surprised to see it removed.
Infiltrators in general were super-op in ME3MP, even more so with Reload-Cancel - it was to be expected that their damage would take a dip.

I'm fine with the long reload times, but damage should definitely be making up for that, which IMO it doesn't.

Considering that it WAS a glitch which the devs eventually acknowledged as "clever use of game mechanics" most likely because they couldn't fix it, we shouldn't have been at all surprised to see it removed. Seriously. I know I'm going to regret getting into this debate, but why do people keep perpetuating this this myth? Reload (and more broadly, animation) cancelling has been a feature since ME2, where it was introduced by design. Christina Norman explains: "The reload trick is by design. It isn't a glitch. I know because I put it in on purpose!""The reload trick is an example of canceling animations. This is a pretty common technique though it is primarily used in fighting games..."
"Also reload trick is kind of a dumb name we should really call it reload canceling."
Other shooters have this mechanic as well. It was also in ME3, where it was expanded to allow for stuff like Nova cancelling, despite being a widely known and somewhat controversial thing already. Far from restricting or removing it, it was incorporated into DLCs, such as with the Smash animation being cancelable. No, it was not a glitch. No, it was not impossible to patch out. They took it out in Andromeda for reasons we'll likely never know because the level of dev/community interaction has been steadily going down the shitter. Reload canceling is not coming back, and asking for it is a waste of time. I want a gun damage increase to make up for the loss of DPS caused by the removal of reload canceling.

Reload cancelling hasn't gone anywhere. I am cancelling my reloads all the time. You apparently have to stand perfectly still, like a meditating zen-Buddhist or something, to not mess up the reload - which is kinda hard when you're under heavy fire and don't like dying very much.

Since I don't have there is no point. So now comes how do I respec? I did once one my human soldier lvl 20 and it gave me no options to re allocate points instead I had to begin from lvl 1 again something I rather not be doing again. Did I do something wrong? Back in me3 with a respec card you could re allocate points as you see fit.

Respec cards still exist, so you likely did not respec your level 20, but promoted him instead as this will put them back to level 1, and give you a whooping 25 APEX Rating for your troubles *EDIT* If you don't have them, you can buy them using Mission Funds in the item store, costs 15 (if I recall correctly) funds.

Turbo marksman is also supposed to speed up the reload aka ME3 but again, does not seem to be the case. Although I'm not so sure, need a better stopwatch, tried it with the phone only but seems that it has some input lag. There is obviously something wrong with the whole reload thing. Either bad-bad design or not working as intended.

The best sniper in the game is Ishray bought on Voild (sp?) I've used it through one complete playthrough and part way through another on hardcore. "Some times you're in a pinch situation and no cloak its either cover or run or fight back and there are times the only option is fight back well thx to the uber slow reload you pretty much toast. On the contrary in ME3 quick reload and get rid of the treat."That's when you quick switch weapons. With my build(s) I have no problem applying powerful tactics to the battlefield using a one shot sniper. The Ishray can be leveled up to VIII does 1200 damage in one shot. The thing about MEA combat is that you're not meant to simply camp all the time. You need to move around. However if you control the battlefield there should be no problem whatsoever with the slower loading mechanic it's never been an issue for me. Just control the battlefield and level up another weapon for tight spots. Use your powers, you have all of them available so I don't get the problem here. Wrong forum, but welcome!

After all, even in cover I often reload 2 times and turbocharge doesn´t cancel it either.

Considering that it WAS a glitch which the devs eventually acknowledged as "clever use of game mechanics" most likely because they couldn't fix it, we shouldn't have been at all surprised to see it removed. All they would have had to do to fix it would be to fill the ammo at the end of the animation instead of halfway through. It should amaze me that actual quotes from actual developers of the actual game don't count, but it no longer does.
