What were your thoughts on the romances?

While I haven't played all the romances, the romances I have played or seen were all really well done in my opinion. I absolutely love Suvi's, being the exact kind of romance I was hoping to have in Mass Effect especially after Josephine's in DAI, with those two now being my favorite of each franchise. I also really like Cora's, especially the non-sex route which I'm glad in her case got equal attention. While they are the light romances, I also found Avela's and Keri's to be really sweet and well done. The others are really good as well to the point I can't think of a single bad romance among the bunch other than maybe subjective things on my part.

Fair enough. I just felt Suvi, Liam, and Vetra were really lacking compared to the other romances. It's not solely because they didn't have sex scenes (although that was a factor), but they just didn't come across as having as much attention as some of the others. Without a doubt I believe Jaal, Peebe, and Cora likely got the most attention from BioWare. Those romances seemed the most "complete" in my opinion. That's not the say the others were bad, but they just felt lacking. The romance with Avela was okay, but I felt the one with Keri was somewhat odd and didn't make a lot of sense.

I found pacing to be rather poor overall with everyone I flirted with. However, that may just be due to me being a completionist and the romance not advancing until you get further in the critical path and loyalty mission. I romanced Cora first and it really didn't go anywhere for the first 80 hours I invested. I honestly wasn't sure whether or not I was in a relationship with her until the sex scene just randomly happened.

I haven't personally dabbled with m/m romances, but folks on here seem to think BioWare did a rather poor job compared to the other romances. I just wish BioWare was more consistent with every romance, rather than some characters getting more while others get less. There doesn't appear to be any logic for why some characters get more attention while others don't.

I didn't romance Jaal, but it was rather obvious he got a lot of attention. The angara, in general, received a lot of care and dedication by BioWare. I never play female protagonists, but even just watching the romance scene on YouTube showed the Jaal romance was on an entirely different level from the rest.

Liam is a really funny and likable character, which is why its a shame his romance seems to be so underdeveloped. It's similar with Vetra, who I felt is a really great character but the actual romance is rather unfulfilling.

I just wish there was a bit more consistency with the quality of each romance rather than some being great and others being disappointing.

They neglected their female players once again. I looked over all of the romances in YouTube and boy is there a HUGE difference between male Ryder and female Ryder's romances. It's VERY offensive. Male Ryder gets hard core porn naked sex scenes and he get jealousy comments from his Li's if he romances several at a time, while female Ryder gets her sex scenes (except for hideous alien Jaal ofc) faded to black and only lasted two sec and if she tries to romance several at once, they automatically goes to friendship mode, no comments or anything about each other. It really pisses me off how much Bioware neglects their female fan base like this. I know this also counts for the gay fan base though, so them too. I just hope they're smart enough to do something about it in a future dlc but I have my doubts.

Reyes was my absolute favorite but ofc we didn't get enough content cause we're women fans....

They didn't? A character like Reyes and all you get is a fade to black? That'll piss off the gay guys too cause I think he's bi isn't he?

That's a bit ridiculous I gotta be honest. I imagine a lot of females who play these sort of games would appreciate a more fleshed out romance ark (maybe more so than us lads even) so I don't get why they wouldn't put a lot of work in there for you. Would you say it's any better at least than romances like Kaidan or Jacob?

Agreed. I think Kaidan romance was much better, at least he got a somewhat decent sex scene plus decent content in comparison imo. I never liked Jacobs romance, so it's better than his. Don't get me wrong, mea in itself is an amazing game and I love it but I've always valued a good romance, that's why I'm disappointed and especially when it's not equal to the guys. Had it been equal, then I would have said okay it is what it is but seeing how much effort they put into the male Ryder's ark and not into the female Ryder, that just pisses me off, I can't help it. I'm as much a paying and a gamer as the male customers are, if not more sometimes, I bought a copy for both my consoles, Xbox one and PS4, they should value the shit out of me.

I really liked the Peebe romance. I thought it was well written and well paced through out the game.
I also cheated on her with Keri and that was written well too.
It was crazy how Keri knew I was in a relationship with someone, and the writing was handled maturely.
I'm guessing eventually Peebe will find out about my pathfinder being an asari loving horn dog.
