The Little Things That Matter (spoilers for side quest)

Conveniently, I just finished writing a rant about this and I was deciding where to put it. Sorry if it's... ranty.

I'm fairly furious about how that mission played out. People on the Nexus are on the verge of starvation, several outposts have failed, and they can't afford to wake up more of the very helpful people still in cryo... but hey, Dr Kennedy has baby fever so she's gonna steal a bunch of supplies and make it happen anyway.

Ok sure. She's not the first person to make a decision devoid of reason, but there's no option to punish her? My options are to give her exactly what she wants or almost exactly what she wants and I'm forced to sweep the thefts under the rug. People were exiled for this stuff! Why am I supposed to care more because she has a baby? Give her the option to give her baby up for adoption on the Nexus and let me kick her out! Or something! It chafes to let her have a happily ever after. Ugh. Needless to say, I will not be completing that mission again in the future.

(As a side note, this entire game had a touch of baby fever. It makes sense in the context of end goals and all, but I wish I'd had more of a chance to remove myself from it personally. I kinda view it like religion, auto-dialogue should never just assume I'm interested.)

Kennedy decides it's the end of the world and it's time to have a baby? Ok, happens, hormones and constant danger do wonders to human's psyche.
Screw Nexus? Common enough hobby in Heleus.
Make use of Addison's incompetence? Weird not to.
I get all of it, but why everyone suddenly goes "aww, first baby in Andromeda" and not a single "This woman!"? I understand they wanted to make something inspiring from the whole thing, new life and all that, but somehow it felt sloppy instead.

Yup. BW dropped the ball on this one. I'd have liked to forcibly removed their newborn baby as punishment. Dr. Dumbass is obviously an incompetent parent, and would have endangered her child's life.
Alternatively, I'd be fine with the first human baby in Andromeda being a dead one. 😘

People are selfish assholes and often hide behind their or other's children to justify their actions.

In this instance I give Andromeda an A+ on the realism.

What can I say? Lots of stupidity in Andromeda. I guess there are some things you can't escape from.

I wouldn't say I loathed it, my feelings were tepid at best.

But I couldn't help thinking what if Admiral Adama had been running the show...pretty different outcome there.

That's actually not a bad set up.

I think I'd have preferred that.

Quests like this are part and parcel for Bioware these days. It's all about the feels and feeling noble, logic and reality be damned. It's pretty much the same as "First Murder", another horribly written side quest that throws logic out the window.

Non-killable children made Skyrim better!  Bowling for kids with the Thu'um!

In all seriousness, I do like the idea of having children (and babies) incorporated into RPG storylines.  I think it has potential for a lot of urgency and drama.  But this quest was a great example of how NOT to do that.

I thought Gil's writing was even worse, I've never been more disgusted with a fictional character. I don't know how anyone can romance such a selfish moron.

I kept her alive cause i tend to aim for "happy" endings, although i doubt developers made the choice really matter much. she apparently helped me later i guess but i don't remember honestly lol.

Admittedly there is some self satisfaction in killing her: I want to disappoint/hurt Peepee. Hate her.
