Hi I don't know if there is a What did you do in Andromeda today? thread yet so I'm asking this as a new topic. I am trying and failing spectacularly to find Ruth Bekker's shuttle. You have to travel to about the middle of the map, there is a crossing, take the road that leads north. Its very steep and you'll have to use 6x6. Just follow the roads, the gray lines on the map.
Also, that mission really sucked.

That mission annoyed me because, how, exactly, did a very sick person manage to get through security, and navigate her way through 5 systems ahead of the Tempest in a SHUTTLE?

You can drive there. Is there an issue with following the map marker on the screen?
Assuming you're on Console, the stick press is so handy.

There is a Remnant structure mapped, at a 3-way crossroad, roughly in the middle. Turn north right there, continue until you see a large opening to your right. Hug the road to the left and go further up. After the large opening, you should be headed more or less WEST. If you followed instructions right, you will encounter a right-hand turn in an abandoned Angaran settlement (also contains a sidequest). Take the road further, it will bring you to an interesting SOS signal, which you don't want to follow right now.
When you encounter the SOS, hug the left side of the wall and you will eventually find the shuttle, crashed.

I made a thread about this. This quest literally made me put the game down for 2-3 days it was so ridiculous. It really highlights just how truly awful most of the side content is in this game.

Shouldn't this be in the spoiler section? That mission annoyed me because, how, exactly, did a very sick person manage to get through security, and navigate her way through 5 systems ahead of the Tempest in a SHUTTLE? I made a thread about this. This quest literally made me put the game down for 2-3 days it was so ridiculous. It really highlights just how truly awful most of the side content is in this game. So, maybe I am missing something but I didn't have a problem with this at all. 1. The disease (frogot the name) has 3 stages, the first has symptoms like cryo sickness, which are not very severe (Ryder had those probably even during the first mission). The second stage makes you paranoid but not necessarily physically sick. The third is where Becker is when we meet her. At that time, she was already on the shuttle. 2. When I talked first to Cpt. Dunn and then to Harry (that his name? The Doc anyway) and they brief me on the situation, I got the feeling that this happened a while ago already. I mean, Charlie apparently revived her, sent her on her way and then they still had to find out about the whole disease (which they mistook for cryo sickness at first), then they needed to contact Ryder, then I needed to get there, be briefed and so on. When we take the scans in the docking area, what we see could be hours or even days past. IIRC, nowhere is it mentioned that this just happened (and SAM seems to be able to generate very old scenes through the scanner somehow, as evidenced by the Jien Garson investigation. So, Becker may have had quite the head start on the Tempest, even when we start playing catch up. 3. Security: Security seems to be exceptionally light on the Nexus. Basically, everyone there seems to be trusted (which is very weird after the uprising). This can be seen not just in this quest but all throughout the game A random example is the Firefighters quest, where this random person can place EMP devices all over critical areas like hydroponics and Nexus Ops. And we don't really know what Becker's official function in the initiative was (or what Charlie the idiot set her up with). So it's not implausible that she could get a shuttle. What I find more outrageous about this quest is how stupid Charlie was for apparently setting his aunt up for the initiative behind the authorities backs (which even might be understandable) but WITHOUT then running all the proper tests himself at least. He even works in a medical profession, he should really know better. But that's just in line with the general stupidity of all characters in this game. IMO, everyone who signed up for the Andromeda Initiative is a grade A idiot (Ryder included), so I have come to terms with these sorts of things a long time ago. [/spoiler]

She's already feeling woozy in Stage 2, from what I remember of the dialogue. Also, she's literally a few minutes ahead, since you catch up just after the guy she conked out is waking up. Do the shuttles have FTL drive at all?

Do the shuttles have FTL drive at all? Oh that's right, forgot about that guy. Well, at least in my case, it wasn't a problem, since I went to a few other systems before catching up to her. But yes, Kodiaks do have FTL drives. You can see it after the ME2 prologue, when Shepard, Miranda and Jacob leave the Lazarus station in a shuttle and fly to Minuteman Station. If you didn't have a problem with it, then this isn't the thread for you. Why not? Well, at first, I wanted to see if I could help out the OP but since that was already resolved and I saw your post, I just thought I'd give my perspective.

FTL that's faster than the Tempest? Or, even fast enough to go to multiple systems in minutes? Arrrrgh that was so annoying.

There is more quest like this, both Turian Ark and Asari is spreading their pods and shuttles all over the place, but only on planets where they are habital. Some of the planet system scanning should have been also good place to dump, dead people in pods, no we take a detour to Elaaden then dump shit there and drive all the way back to our habital of choice;)

That mission annoyed me because, how, exactly, did a very sick person manage to get through security, and navigate her way through 5 systems ahead of the Tempest in a SHUTTLE? Easily done by suspension of belief.

Easily done by suspension of belief. Suspension of disbelief comes in the form of being okay with FTL drives at all. Bad writing is bad writing, and internal inconsistencies are bad writing.

Thanks Melbella, Beetle and Serza. I will go now and (with copious amounts of coffee) see if I can find this road through. And sofajockey - the problem with the map marker is me. And the fact it kept taking me off the map. I don't even get Joker telling me I've gone too far and should turn around. But larval form of Shepard is nothing if not persistent so we will continue together.

It's a little drive but not ridiculously long. It's just over a large ridge. There will be a small encampment/House, whatever you want to call it on the right if your coming from the South., which you should be. But this mission needs to go away. I don't like it.

I finished that mission and went and did PeeBees loyalty mission on havarl. I got the bug in the remnant vault. My last save was before i did the Contagion mission.
reloaded. Did Peebees mission, skipped Contagion.

Contagion: that mission where you spent more time watching space transitions than doing the actual mission. It had so much potential too.
