This has happened to me too. Once you realise how much fun the Sentinel is you cant stop enjoying it. TECH ARMOR . And being a master of both biotics and tech is just awesome. Tech Armor is love. Tech Armor is life.

I say that I'm going to play Vanguard, but I know that I will sit at the start screen for a good 4 hours going between Vanguard and Sentinel and then after I finally decide, I'll start to question my life choices.

This one is really tough for me. I really love playing as a Vanguard, Adept, and Engineer. I picked Vanguard the first time I played ME3. It may happen again. Then again, I love my turrets and drones.

Cool thread! I'd be very interested to hear what everybody's favorite thing is about their class of choice. For Engineer lovers, for instance, what do you consider to be the heart of the class?

Probably start with soldier. Then sentinal. I have to stop and admire your avatar. It's shiny and a source of minor contention with the (American) football fans where I live. You see, I'm a lifelong Broncos fan. Can we still be friends? Mine is going to be Infiltrator, then Solider. If the male animation is less like a gorilla in ME:A, I'll be doing both of those classes with both genders (I.e four completions of the game.) Why thank you. I look forward to seeing how you guys do with Sanchez at the helm.

My most recent runs through the trilogy almost always was as a soldier. It just feels more "right" in the story, unfortunately. I wish that My choice in what class i choose in Andromeda is more reflected in the story. Just small details would suffice, like dialouge that differs in a few instances. More things changing would be great though, of course

For me personally I loved using the turrets and drones as an Engineer. Tech explosions were great too. They were easier to pull off in the MP side due to a patch, if I remember correctly.

Why thank you. I look forward to seeing how you guys do with Sanchez at the helm. That makes one of us. A guy nicknamed "Dirty" Sanchez doesn't inspire me with confidence. At least it's not Tebow. I spent that entire season yelling at the TV. "Throw the damn ball!" I haven't done any ME runs on the techie side because I'm not quite sure what the best way to play them was. Once things get a little more settled, does anyone mind putting together a tutorial and/or basic FAQ for the tech classes? Or import them?

Cool thread! I'd be very interested to hear what everybody's favorite thing is about their class of choice. For Engineer lovers, for instance, what do you consider to be the heart of the class? I love several of them, but since Adept is my most favorite, I guess I'll specify for that one. I loved how it really lived up to the class' descriptive text in Mass Effect 3, "capable of disabling and destroying enemies with raw biotic power". The Vanguard just feels too overpowered to me, like I'm playing Mass Effect with Kratos from "God of War". The Adept, though, just about gets it right. Though I feel like the power slelection could use a bit more diversity, I love the Adept's ability to destroy foes both singly or in crowds, or to do a bit of crowd-control with Singularity. (How is Stasis not an Adept power by default?) The quick cooldowns and biotic detonations really helped the Adept feel like a badass, in ME3. I loved the ME2 Adept, as well, but it was definitely not in a league with the weapon users. While this was still true in ME3, the gap at least felt less dramatic. Removing weapon restrictions helped, too. The idea that a soldier (not Soldier) wouldn't know how to wield an assault rifle is silly. It's basic training. With my AR and my biotics, I felt ready for any engagement. Definitely my favorite class, of the bunch. The hard work and thought put into each new evolution of Mass Effect's gameplay has been evident. I can't wait to see what you guys have made this time.

Why no love for Sentinels ? Being the master of Tech & Biotics is awesome. Caster Sentinel is my favorite way to play Mass Effect. Tech Armor, Overload, Cryo Blast, Throw, Warp & Stasis can take care of pretty much anything with not much of a trouble. For multiplayer, the Turian Sentinel remains my all time favorite kit.
Personally, I never understood Vanguards as a class post-ME1. I get that biotically charging around towards things is cool but it is not a very sensible battle strategy. In a proper battle, Vanguards would draw the most amount of attention / aggro in a fight and the opposing team would definitely have biotics proficient with Stasis and power dampening tech like Flashbang Grenade or Damping to deal with them.

One of the primary benefits of Charge is that it restores barriers when used. So when I play it often turns into me softening up enemies from afar, then, when my barrier has been whittled down, switching to my shotgun and Charge at an enemy with their shields down. The Vanguard is all about that quick burst of high damage at close range before the enemy has a chance to react to your new position, or at least how I play.

I'm hoping they can rein in the Vanguard a bit without ruining everyone's fun. I thought the ME2 Vanguard was a bit lacking, but the ME3 Vanguard was Kratos in space. There has to be a middle ground.

Male Soldier. Pretty straightforward. I'll play him the same way I played Shepard. Default (if he looks good, custom if he doesn't), Renegade (or assorted negative karma), Soldier.
I'll save the others for MP.

I picked Adept, but I don't know for sure yet. I might stray toward Sentinel. I, too, picked Adept; but both Sentinel and Infiltrator would be tempting picks for me. It's difficult to pick, really, without know for certain what MEA's gameplay mechanics might feature. Will we see any return of advanced lockpicking-type skills? That might sway a choice. I could go on with other "what ifs", but the point would be the same. Any tweeks to gameplay might change our choices. For now, ough, Adept it is.

"There has to be a middle ground." Yes there is! The charge distance between the player and enemy before the enemy becomes space paste.
