Which class are you going to choose?

I just saw Ian's post..

I would say that I choose Soldier because, surprisingly, it feels like the most flexible playstyle for me. I'm guessing the extra power is an import perk. However, the choice of weapon to handle any occasion; the extra power choice; the specialized ammo choices--cryo, fire, electric; as well as the...long distance upper left cut (I use that instead of Adrenaline Rush)..

Looking at this, I'm guessing the pattern here is "Choice". lol! I like to have a variety of tools at my disposal to deal with whatever situation might pop up. The weight limit can throw off my plans, but there are usually enough weapon's benches that I can modify my approach if need be.

I would also like to be able to..customize my own class much more in future games. For example, if there is a weapons type/class limit in future games, I would like to choose what weapons my character may feel most comfortable with, or most proficient in, instead of it being chosen for me?

I do like the choice of extra power and special ammo already in there.

Also engineer is much more FUN that people realize. In me1 I had the fun if my life controlling the battlefield rendering the enemies useless.

Infiltrator! On the second playthrough, probably vanguard.

Adept is reserved for my female play through, because lots of funny BEs are going to happen

Infiltrator first as always. In several playthroughs,  soldier, vanguard and adept.
To me the sniper class should be someone in high places, (reaches places no one else can except other sniper, or flying unit) very powerfull from above or far behind, but just a simple light soldier on the close combat. It could have some detection skills and small traps.

I really hope they have something truly new for us, instead of more infiltrators with cloak, vanguards with charge, sentinels with tech armor etc. yet again.

Personally I'd love a fully customizable classless system, where you could pick your powers more or less freely. They could arrange them in different tiers, so you could only pick one or two of the more powerful, "class-defining" skills and the rest from a wider selection.

I think the problem here is that having to choose one out of six options is already considered too big of a congnitive load for the average gamer. The same reason why we always see skill trees in games instead of much superior point-buy systems, the same reason we don't have dialogue like this in games anymore: too much choice. (EDIT: case in point)

Dear lord I sometimes miss the 90s when the expectation was that gamers are smart.

Infiltrator. I like the idea of my character being highly efficient fighter that wasn't born with superpowers and it feels more sophisticated than soldier.

Do we actually already know if the original classes will be included in Andromeda?

If so I'm going with infiltrator, I've always been a fan of stealth, cover and taking out my enemies with a single well aimed shot from afar.

The french interview with Roy has one nugget about class selection. Class specialization
s a no-no. Here is why.

Roy said that you need to explore and fight and interact with your team and the Helius
cluster races. Specifically, he said that if you choose to be only an explorer, then you
won't be able to defend yourself properly because you don't know what's coming at you. Same
if you choose to be a soldier.... you will have limitations.

I'm taking his comments to heart and perhaps a hybrid class is the way to go.
