SP forums blow my mind

My favorite part is how any and every legitimate criticism people level at the game is invariably met with a chorus of "You're just salty about the animations!" and/or "Well it was like that in the OT too!".

Here's where it falls apart: QQ about rifles and their ability to kill in competent hands - empirical, can be supported by facts and figures.

QQ about romance or plot? That is actually just QQ period. I know, I have done plenty of it regarding the ending of ME3, the recycled areas of DA2, the fact that DAI was the worst game I ever bought a Deluxe edition of...

One is less shitty. The SP game is a fantasy, MP is a skill based, smaller version of that fantasy with plenty of data that can be analyzed, understood, to use objectively to perform better in the game.

No matter how hard I try, I will never pound that Quarian bum bum... It doesn't fucking exist, neither does the sweat glob rolling between her bum and her soup.

I will kill a certain amount of enemies, a percentage of them with headshots.

When you can make an argument based on data and not feels, I will agree with your assessment that the SP forums is perfectly normal.

or better yet, we didn't take any non hetro on the program because the point is to procreate and make a new outpost for humanity in Andromeda not let the species die off, we barely took enough for a viable colony never mind spare room for non breeders .....

I think I can sum this up.

MP Forums: "There's some weapons that get headshot/melee multipliers, I've created a table for every weapon in the game showing base damage plus multiplier values, see below."

SP Forums: "Here is a detailed analysis explaining what Tali's sweat tastes like, with flow charts and pictures and diagrams and all that other shit."

That's what a masterful post looks like. Well done.

Both have had workmanlike content of widely appreciated value (e.g. the Suicide Mission or Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts guides on the SP side, the game data spreadsheets of Tangster and later Cyonan or the peddroelmz/tyhw numerical tests thread on the MP side).

Both have also had voluminous memes, trolling and shitposts. Yes there was Tali's sweat, but let's not forget the Nerfduck thread, the merciless hounding to which GodlessPaladin was subjected, Descy wondering where his N7 weapon was during the weekend event or the N7-Link 6/6/6/6/6 meltdown. The MP section is not some hermetically sealed ivory tower from which Cyonan and peddroelmz hold forth on game data and never has been.

And finally, there is plenty of discussion in both areas that is worthy even if it is not "objective." I find the fetish for this adjective even more perplexing than normal when it's employed in an argument about what's worthy of discussion--not just whether something can be proven or a strong case can be made based on available evidence. This is actually a facet of totalitarianism as documented in classic works by Popper, Arendt and others.

Not as fun as ME3's shit show on the ole' BSN. Tho ME3 was still a decent game, manly because it cherry picked on ME2s greatness, but still ME3 had it's moments (curing the genophage, the Geth/quarian storyline). The ME3 forum on the ole' BSN was all about how utterly shit the endings were,then a few weeks later it was all about The Indoctrination Theory... Ah, those were the days.

Andromeda is just a bad game. Full stop.
