Wanted him/her to be a crew member, instead they slept through the entire game.

How they handled the sibling made sense because they needed to be easy to abduct for the end game. However, I am hoping in any post game DLC or future installments that the sibling will be a companion. It would make sense, since they were trained to be on the pathfinder team.

I'm convinced they'll play a larger role in the future. This time around they needed to establish one main character, instead of splitting their focus.
Now that that's out of the way, twin can shine.

Kind of. It would have been great if they joined the tempest crew after the ending.
But question is where did your sibling go? They aren't on the Hyperion after you leave Meridian

I didn't expect them to be a squadmate for meta-reasons, but if I remember right devs promised "...you'll be able to visit them and build a relationship...". Would you believe me if I said, that it's not exactly like that? I had more interactions with major of Prodromos.

How would you want them to handle their personality though? The player varies on their Emotional/Logical and Casual/Professional axes, so where do you see the npc twin falling? I can only see some vague middle ground between them personally, even though they should feel like distinct characters. If they were ever a squadmate, they'd need a class/power loadout too.

I'd hoped we'd see more of them (maybe equivalent to the third of the game we had the sibling for in DA2?). I think the emotional impact of the kidnapping at the end was hurt by not getting more time with them. Obviously the character is supposed to care, but we don't really know them.

I was pretty happy when they finally woke up and I got to interact with them, but yes I was disappointed it took so long for that to happen. I'd be fine with the sibling not becoming a squadmate in the future but I do hope they take on a larger role.
For me one of the few redeeming qualities to Hawke in DA2 was how they could treat Bethany and be a supportive family member (Carver less so because...well it's Carver)

Was finally glad to see SisRyder at the end - figured she got kidnapped but yeah, more missions with them would have been better. Just to make you develop more of an emotional connection to them as the player.

It would've been nice to interact with her/him more. Just have the sibling stay on the Hyperion doing odd jobs to get their strength back instead of being in a coma for most of the game.

I knew they were going to be limited, but I expected them to wake up halfway through and then maybe go on a mission and be involved in the finale. I did not like how passive they were but the finale more than made up for it.
That said, god the Kett attack was poorly executed. Every plot development was a contrivance in this game. The worst part about that is the fact that this game just lifted ME1's plot and it had a perfect template to go from in that sense but it made everything completely out of context. Okay, the Archon is on the Hyperion... how and when? Thanks for not showing us or having everyone communicate this to Ryder before it happened from the Nexus. Same thing with when you meet the Archon, same thing with the not-Virmire mission and every "major" choice. This is the moment the Geth and Saren attack the Citadel in ME1 but it just happens without explanation here.
Hell, if you go and talk to Bradley after giving him then not-Anderson role in the ending he just says "It's good to know it's only temporary" so basically they went out of their way this time to ensure no choices are going to carry over. We probably leave the sibling in Andromeda 2 so Mac can make another soft-reboot that has no obligations because I think his issue is much more that as a creator or writer (I know he's not the writer of it) he can never seem to follow up on established developments. Any time he's at risk of having to double-check how a plot ties together with a preceding plot he seems to screw up or he inserts Cerberus or he makes a contrived development on top of it.

OP I was disappointed too. I was expecting him ( I played as Sarah) to wake up and be a part of the crew and perhaps I'd be able to play as him once in a while I thought, hey could have been cool but I was really disappointed to find out that he just slept through the whole game. How silly was that.

I imagine Tann looking at the window and thinking "Hmm, is there something missing? How many Arks we are supposed to have here?". Archon should have captured entire Nexus, nobody would notice it in first few hours anyway.

I'm not entirely surprised they were as limited as they are, but I am disappointed. Just think how massive the dialogue would be for both characters if they were a possible squad mate for any given part of the game. It annoyed me in DA2 that your sibling was only around for the first act, if they even lived that far.
Hopefully they have a role in upcoming DLC. Being a temporary squad mate would be awesome but I'm not holding my breath.
They are a crucial part of the plot at the end which is still good. I'm just wondering where they are after the main game ends. I can't find Sara anywhere in the game after leaving Meridian the first time.

One thing i dont get and this happened in DA2 as well. What is the point of a sibling if you are going to bench one for the entire game? why not let the sibling also be part of the squad? and if you do plan on benching the sibling then dont bother having one in the first place. Just make it that there is only one Ryder spawn with gender depending on a binary choice.

The sibling did seem underused.
With such a big deal made about how family is important to the story, Ryder actually doesn't interact much with family! Alec dies in the beginning, mom is presumed dead and on ice for the entire game, and bro/sis spends 95% of the game in a coma.
I wasn't disappointed by the sibling not being a squadmate, since Bioware announced awhile back that the bro/sis wouldn't be one of your teammates. Still, I think more interaction was needed. They should have had the sibling revived much earlier with some interaction aboard the Nexus, and maybe a quest or two, before the abduction.
Hopefully the sibling plays a larger role in DLC and is recruited as the seventh squadmate.

I was also disappointed. Kinda wished they'd have been more active.
And the attack on the Hyperion was extremely, horribly done. Were was the rest of the damage to the station? Nothing happened... It would have been better if our twin would have gone out to research Meridian at some site or planet and then get caputred there...
...But then our twin would not have been able to save us from the AI severing caused by the Archon...
Still wished the attack/hijcacking of the Hyperion could have been explained/written/executed better in game.

It probably would've been too complicated to do much else...
They'd have to give the sibling a personality and people would complain about that... The sibling wouldn't have too much banter because it would require too many resources to be allocated to it and people would complain about that... They'd need a reason why your sibling couldn't go into combat with you and people would complain about that... The sibling would take your romance and people would complain about that... I'd laugh but people would complain about that...

I think the problem is that it wasn't easy enough for BioWare to write. I say "easy" rather than "it would've been too hard" intentionally. Same goes for the other inconsqeuential decisions you make in the game so BioWare could have a clean slate for Andromeda 2 and Mac doesn't have to think too hard.

It would've been nice to have the sibling do more stuff. But yeah, I think we should get both. Vetra and Sid showed us they can really do the dynamic well. So do it. It'd be fresh and fun.

Sibling companion is a bad idea, a childhood fantasy that would pan out twrribly in a video game.
Have them woven into the plot sure.
Not on the ship.

To me, the sibling seemed like just another cutscene. A little bit of background info for Ryder, but otherwise of little use or importance.
Maybe they'll expand the role in the next game, if there is one, but TBH I wasn't overly impressed with the twin.
I will admit, I liked the snarky answer to Pathfinder Ryder when told to get some rest after waking from the coma. That was probably the best part of the whole twin scenario thus far.

Sibling companion is a bad idea, a childhood fantasy that would pan out twrribly in a video game. Have them woven into the plot sure. Not on the ship. Agreed. They could not develop the sibling as an NPC crew member without establishing a quasi-canonical personality for him/her. This would be stepping on the toes of the player, who will presumably play as that character at a later time. I was mostly content with the role of the sibling in MEA. I would've enjoyed more time with the awoken sibling; but the sibling's role in the end-game was exciting, and made up for any lack of screentime, for me. Playing as the Level 1 Scrub sibling was a very pleasant, if stark, reminder of just how far my protagonist had come. I paused for just a second, smiled, and said, "Wow". I ended my initial playthrough at Level 73, if I recall correctly, so the newly developed skill-gap between the twins was profound.
