You people are really underestimating the power of movement and invincibility frames. And it's also hilarious to charge the same Phantom 4-5 times in a row to death and she can't do anything about it. Pls to post vids if possible. Not OP obviously, but while we're waiting here's a "how-about-a-huuaaaaarrgh" lady just as sexy as any fantum

Being able to charge a phantom to death with a lucky BC string isn't really something you need video proof of possibility... it's pretty easy to replicate it yourself. (And some would consider it fun even. But those are sick twisted people.)

This is what I'm talking about - you killed a Banshee, tanked her Nova scream and 2 Ravager shots and came out with FULL Barrier and Health. A regular Vanguard would've been out of barrier after the scream and then downed by those Ravager shots.

A regular Vanguard would've been out of barrier after the scream and then downed by those Ravager shots. A regular pug Vanguard - yes. A well played one, though, would have just hanged back and hammered the Banshee with the mighty Overlord, resulting in a MUCH quicker kill. Or, if you really want/need to get that damage bonus and DR rolling, charge, wait for the banshee to start the screaming animation, dodge out of the way, double tap the Raider, reload hide into grenade now that the aura is down - BOOM, dead Banshee. Time taken: half of what it takes here. Really, all this gif does is further prove my point: charging more than the bare minimum needed is a waste of killing time, and the lottery evolution is inferior* to the barrier one because of this. And they didn't even get the kill, the BE did, otherwise it'd have taken even more... (not trying to bash the author of the gif by the way, just answering our beloved Volus regarding the evolution ) Besides, you are aware that we're also talking of something that happens once in 64 times, yes? 6 charges in a row. We're back at the old argument that you guys never talk of what happens the other 50% of the times. Given that the bare minimum of charges required to get out of that situation is around 4, there is a 93.75% chance that a vanguard with the lottery evolution would die doing that just as quickly as a badly played regular one. And even in that 6.25% of the times, they'd kill the Banshee much slower. Plus, this is also a situation skewed against barrier, since they start with full barriers anyway. So... What are you talking 'bout? XD It looks and feels fun though, no question about that. * on most vanguards, the asari included

I'm saying that you do have the option a lot of the time when the need arises. And again I don't die more than with full barrier and my damage stays the same of even higher.

There's only one way to settle this... We haven't had one in a while Speaking of Thunderdome (kinda) We did play together right Deerbra? And we both we Drell. You were an Adept with a Carrier and I was a Drell Vanguard with a Wraith. And we both finished with equal score (like 1k difference which is basically none) And I only died like 2 times VS Collectors on an open map. And I was using the Bonus Power Charge. So it's not bad. Really.

Really. Actually, I seem to remember you outscored me by a fairly noticeable margin? I recall playing pretty badly that game. Or maybe it was so rare to be outscored back in the days that I felt like it was a huge amount even if it was little, I dunno. Regardless, I put your misbeliever tincan in its place the next game, using the mighty High Lord! But yeah, maybe I'm not conveying the message I want to. I'm not trying to say it's a bad evolution. I just think it's slightly inferior on most vanguards. It's not a make it or break it evolution, for sure. You can do good with the lottery one, and a great player will surely play a great vanguard, regardless of the evolution chosen. Still, I do believe it lowers your damage output somewhat, and that's why I'm sticking to my full barrier. Different strokes for different folks, agree to disagree and all that

^ You could at least try it out Haha I'd do that, alright, if I were still trying out new things in this game. I'm barely playing it once a month as it is, I usually want and need to feel at home by playing my most "oiled" builds. Which, as a bonus, involve the High Lord about 95% of the times

I wonder how Disruptor Ammo Venom would work out on Bonus Power? I'm thinking something like:
Shoot > (Start charging Venom) > Biotic Charge > Tech Burst > Shoot > (Start charging Venom) > Biotic Charge > Tech Burst > Etc
But I'm too lazy to try this. Maybe somebody else will now that I've thought of it.

I agree this particular encounter should have been dealt with more efficiently, bonus charge or no bonus charge. the damage produced was subpar (not only that you can see me failing at reload as well) but hey this was to display the lottery abuse for the sheer fun of it if anything and a good illustration of the iframes in action that Darth Volus was talking about earlier

I'd have probably done the same to see how many charges in a row I could make

You people are really underestimating the power of movement and invincibility frames. And it's also hilarious to charge the same Phantom 4-5 times in a row to death and she can't do anything about it. It's equally hilarious to Charge a Phantom with full Batarian Barriers, wind up the Falcon Punch, get staggered out of it by the Phantom's counterattack, then blow her head off with the Raider. But I've been considering giving Bonus Power a try. This is my favorite thing to do in the whole world. If you smash down that heavy melee at exactly the right time after Charge, dat Phanton doesn't even get a chance to counter before her head explodes on your fist.
