Tweeted to Billy Buskell about it, will let you know if he responds. Two days later, no response yet, huh... Its pretty clear they don't give a damn. And if they don't care, why should we? I am new at ME games, so I could be missing something, but what if that is considered legitimate tactics? You can use one ammo consumable and deal more damage than the ones without consumables, but less damage then those that use two. Now, those that use two will run out of them twice as fast as those that use one, meaning they will be playing matches with no ammo consumables, meaning they will deal less damage than players with one ammo consumable. It does make sense to someone who is not well educated in ME universe (me). But this logic does have a "flaw". One could spend real cash for buying top tier packs, thus getting rares and ultra rares, while spending her/his match credits for buying basic or resource packs thus replenishing the stack of ammo consumables and always playing with two of them.
It would be nice to get an official word on this or patch that prevents that (if it is considered cheating or exploiting).

That would not be a problem. The glitch is that doing so not only applies both ammo buffs but straight up DOUBLES your damage output. Each time your press the trigger your guns fires TWO bullets for FULL damage. That is a big glitch and abusing it will mot likely result in a ban (much like the ol missile glitch did in ME3).

I am pretty positive they won`t ban people for this. If BW doesn`t like it, they should fix it ASAP though. I see little reason for this... but I will leave it to them.

It was fixed last night... at least on PS4 with some kind of stealth patch or hot fix.
I just saw it from that solo kett video, and decided to try it to see if it really was a big deal (Yeah, the Raptor was melting people on gold).
Game disconnected a little later, next game and I went to put on a power efficiency & power damage booster, and sure enough they were blocked. You can no longer put 2 boosters in the same category on your character. So no double ammo, no Targeting + Melee booster, no Shotgun + Pistol booster. This seems like a bandaid more than anything, but PS4 can no longer do it and they just fixed that last night.

The game did not let you put boosters on in the same category after the game disconnected and kicked people to the main screen. Restarted console, everything... they did not work after about 10:30 EST on PS4. I didn't even know about the glitch until yesterday, but had been doing double XP boosters or melee + targeting boosters on certain classes prior to the glitch. You were able to put 2 boosters per category on your character. Now you can't.

I was curious about how big a difference this would make and I could only slot one ammo. I would slot it in one spot and then it would switch to the other. This was some time yesterday. It kept switching to the other slot and leaving the original slot that had it now with nothing equipped which I'm glad for. I am not fond of the idea that people could do this when really they just have to fix the weapons and get their shit together and do some balancing. That said though, I still have to give them props because at least they try to balance things. Coming off a year of ESO (MMO) where balance is pretty much a joke that happens a few times a year and usually makes things worse (like they spitball stuff while high out of their minds and what interests them most sticks), I feel like here they at least earnestly try. Whether or not they get out there and play to see what really feels OP or needs a buff, I cannot say. But having a balance every two weeks that from what I remember in ME3 was not generally a big or small buff/nerf (but my memory might be off) is a vast improvement over ESO style of fucking things up so much a few times a year that you have to redo entire builds or might find some of them and their weapons outright unless in the course of one update.

If you put, say, an XP booster in the first slot, and then another XP booster in the second slot, the first slot appears empty. However, in a lobby, if you look at everyone's loadout, yours will show 2 XP boosters installed. It's the same with ammo. It doesn't look like you have two on the Booster screen, but in lobby loadout it does.

Two days later, no response yet, huh... Its pretty clear they don't give a damn. And if they don't care, why should we? This is nothing like the missile glitch. You have to have the consumables first. This trick would burn through boosters very quickly, since you only get 1 ammo booster at best in any given pack. The missile glitch could be done regardless of your inventory, and it could be done without using any boosters. Actually, why would you use boosters if you have missiles? Anyway, in order to really farm with this, you need to invest in enough packs to get those boosters. In a funny way, this actually might get more people to buy packs with money to get these boosters. Bioware will happily take their money. Also, unlike before, there is no real Bioware forum for this discussion. All we have is twitter to contact them. And if Bioware refuses to address this, then I don't see a problem. If the game was actually more balanced I'd be more aggravated, but in the pathetic state the game is in right now, quite frankly mam, I don't give a damn. And I think this might be the general attitude overall. I wonder if there is a connection to game crashes? Take a look at Bioware's solution for people experiencing game crashes: answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Crashing-to-desktop-what-trying-to-load-into-the-multiplayer/m-p/5981385#M7208It seems there is a serious problem with how this game handles equipment. One can crash your freakin' game, the other provides an exploit. Whatever. No, but then this is likely one of those topics where they can't publically go out and say "Hey guys, this is an exploit - stop being bad" before they have a fix deployed for it. Why not? What's so bad about warning players against using this? As it stands right now, we do not even have confirmation this is a legit glitch, since Bioware hasn't said anything. This is more like the old Warp-Inferno-Grenade glitch in ME3 than the missile glitch. And also like that glitch, this requires using specific ammo boosters, its not free like the missile glitch. Its not an "Instant win button" like the missile glitch was, either. The missile glitch was truly destructive to the game. This glitch...not so much. All they have to do is say "Hey, we are aware of an equipment exploit some players are abusing. This exploit is not working as intended, and exploiters will be banned for using it." The warning should be enough for the vast majority of players. As it stands, there are a lot of players doing this out of curiosity, boredom, or whatever. A warning would put an end to many players using it. There will still be those that abuse it, but players would avoid them more than they do now, again, because of that threat of a ban. Until they say anything, they cannot ban people for it. And that is simply because they have made no statements about it. Again, I refer to the Warp-Inferno glitch, which never got anybody banned, even though it melted everything it touched. In many ways, the Warp-Inferno glitch was a LOT more powerful than this glitch...given that guns do so little damage. Even the Vanquisher+Glitch cannot compete with high level Inferno Ammo+Warp in ME3MP. Not even close. And that's why this wont get players banned.

If anybody does get banned for this, don't worry I have a great strategy. It involves official bioware social media...

Actually I kind of wonder how this exploit would work with the Naladen or Falcon, probably way over the top with huge aoe damage. Roughly the same as shooting Vanq body shots.

Each time your press the trigger your guns fires TWO bullets for FULL damage. That is a big glitch and abusing it will mot likely result in a ban (much like the ol missile glitch did in ME3). Interesting. But, on second thought, this could be an advantage for EAware. They simply state this is working as intended as they invisioned certain players will want to do as much damage as possible (as opposed to being a team player) and they planned this "feature" to allow them to spend more ammo consumables. This, of course, means they will have to spend real cash for packs if they want to continue using two ammo boosters, but that's the way this game works. Crazy, I know. But something slightly similar happened in ESO. Very soon after launch players found out they can cancel animations of combat skills and thus increase their DPS. Zenimax took some time to evaluate the problem and then simply stated they have accepted this as a part of gameplay since it would be too much work to fix it and all players should learn to animation cancel in order to be competitive.

Hmmm................ so...................
during today's stream it has been officially stated that the ammo glitch is considered a violation of the terms of service, if it surprises anyone. It's "best to avoid using it".

I must say it made a lot of weapons more fun and satisfying to play. Farewell, dear Ammo Glitch, may your spirit imbue the next balance changes.
