Just beat Elex. That game was a hell of a ride. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an open world RPG.

So before I begin a couple of quick notes, they are gaming related don't worry:
First off just before I logged off my FB to jump on FC I discovered that there is a rather exciting pre order bonus for Ace Combat 7. They are offering download codes with the deluxe edition of the game for Ace Combat 5:...the Unsung War. And since that game is one of my four favorite games of all time, and my favorite of its generation...and since I no longer have it ( I think) getting access to it again on the PS 4 is going to be huge again, muh childhood.
Secondly despite being in the throes of a FC 4 run I am beginning to wonder what I am going to play next. With the hollidays right around the corner my fiancee has insinuated, heavily, that she just might get me a certain game that came out a loooonnnnggg time ago but been wanting to play. I also am going to pick her up RDR 2 which I am also, surprisingly enough, interested in playing (given how much I 'disliked' RDR). But I don't think I will finish FC 4 before I can get either game in my grubby little hands so that leaves the potential for a game hole. I am a bit tempted to finally start a female playthrough of FO 4, but then I also want to finish maybe my second PT of Ghost Recon Wildlands especially since I have played two Ubisoft games in a row (so weird) so there is symetry and it should be the 'quicker' experience. Maybe. Complicating things of course is that AC comes out on January 18th and AC 5 port has been rumored to come out right around the same time so I might have time to only play one game or another of the two I am hoping to get for Christmas.
Anyways if you made it through that, onto the actual gameplay. I find it funny that since Monday and I finished Act 1 I have not done a single story mission since then. Been doing a lot of hunting and clearing out some of the bell towers so I can get more map discovered and hopefully find a nest of Honey Badgers. Its also funny that I promised myself that I would not really RP with this game too much, to the extent I did with FC 5 using the bow, a revolver and a sniper rifle...and so far I have been using mainly a bow and a revolver. Though the gameplay is nowhere near is 'tight' as FC 5 so the bow long term is not a viable weapon. But it is the only silenced weapon I have, helpful for outposts, and it really helps with the crafting so for now I am keeping it. Of note last night though speaking of which I went to liberate another outpost and an elephant happened upon the area, it attacked the Royal Army forces so I aggressively snuck around the other side and infiltrated. I then started carefully picking off the guards, one saw me...but I still got the undetected bonus. Then I finally picked up the SVD Dragonov, my first sniper rifle and a childhood favorite of mine from my days of playing Desert Storm but...this game it stinks. Doesen't have any attachments so no silencer, doesen't seem to kill people in one shot as easily and so...I need a better sniper which means ftm more Bell towers. But then I did assassinate a Royal Army Lieutenant with it so there is that. Up next I want a better sniper, as I alluded to, and then I will probably start doing more of the campaign though finding some honey badgers to hunt will be really nice.

I survived! Well, so far. I finished the combat challenges for chapter 2 - kill Belial and Cydaea on Hard difficulty, and complete a rift on Expert difficulty. The more challenging part of the two boss battles was getting the darn game to generate those bounty opportunities. The first one took about 4 tries, the second about 20 restarts to get it to appear.
Currently level 62. The challenge now will be to grind to level 70. Ho hum. I might do a bit more on Hard just 'cause the XP collects so much faster. I just need to be careful.

The rng is creeping me out in Kingmaker so I dropped back to DOS 2 for a while where at least when any avatar attack / throw anything, it does land. And I like that DOS has environmental attacks. I finished up what I can in Act 2 but I'm letting go a couple of quests which cannot be completed : I inadvertently picked up a quest where an NPC was already dead since they're the enemy. I chose not to go to some vaults where I know I'm going to be mowed over. There're a few slight changes but I guess the meat of it is in Act III and Act IV. I managed to keep Sir Lora alive though I noticed in several fights, the bad guys went out of their way to target him. grrrr Getting ready for the cheese ... stretch, stretch, primping up ... (two statues on either side ignoring the fluffiness-fuss) Hey, pipe down over there, pipsqueak... (two statues steadfastly held their positions) sheesh, never mind (two statues ...)

Vanilla Doom 2 completed last night, and have now moved onto TNT-Evilution, the first of the addon episodes. I really don't like this episode very much, with the exception of a handful of maps, so will be blasting through it quite quickly with gritted teeth in anticipation of the far superior Plutonia Experiment.

Yep. Plus they're marked on a map with small skull icon next to the place you need to port to (you just need to hover over it to see boss' name) and once you've done them in current session, you have them marked as killed

Finished up Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It was pretty fun. I did like the villain more than Lara and would rather just have played his story instead. But I guess she was okay too. Also during the last bit I discovered the the Photographer mode had an option to change Lara's expression, which made the last chapters screenshot taking so much fun. Missed three achivos. Suprise! Gunslinger and Deadly Obsession. The first two are more of a nuisance I guess? Don't know of a place where I can cuddle from above and the few people I meet are all wearing hats. Deadly Obsession is just no. Nonono. Not while playing a little twat who purposefully refuses to use her tools to survive and would rather snap her neck than obey me. Still did give it a try. Failed a E prompt at the wall before you do the final rope slide to start the main plot of the game. Okay, fine, annoying but doable. So go back from the beginning, grab a relic I missed and shoot some challenge stuff as well. Then the little twit decides to launch her self past the pendulum she was supposed to grab on and climb on top of. So decided to quit it there before the urge to throw something became an action. Only positive from this venture was playing with the face option in the photographer mode. Because I needed this picture in my life and now I have it. Gave it another go, got out of the tomb and into combat where she died and got kicked to the start. And just no. But I hate myself. And because of that, I have this Solution was, to go back to complete save, get grabby hands instead of survival instinct sight and then watch a video on the side while doing the boring bits. And why yes, there is a theme to the screenshots I'm taking.

The only difference is that they have the extra loot chest if they are a bounty.

Man The Rykers are all sorts of F$%^ked Up. The mission to clear the Lexington Event Centre and kill Larae is great but can be difficult especially on the rooftop and when I stopped playing there was an issue with the red rings showing where an incoming grenade would land wasn't working. It is however very satisfying taking her down though she is a really nasty piece of work. Me preying trying to solo Lexington on Hard.

But I team up with people in the safehouses or matchmake at times as well. The game is best in group with players that communicate over mike i think. I'm only level 22 so most of the time solo isn't a big problem. Even though sometimes i get totally overrun on hard and in the DZ.

Watching Life Is Strange 2 ep 1 gameplay. Not sure whether it's a cop out because the setting went to the original zone in LIS 1 at the end. I felt no empathy for the chars during a supposedly moving scene but then, it's a situation one is familiar with where the supernatural is concerned and it's predictable.
I don't see anything super new brought to the supernatural table nor the circumstances the chars are in. Doubt I'll be getting this game.

I'm only level 22 so most of the time solo isn't a big problem. Even though sometimes i get totally overrun on hard and in the DZ. I completed the whole game solo and it was a slog TBH but I also think it made me a better player. I started doing Co-Op after a couple of guys invited me in the DZ to join and then met a few people in forums and in the safe houses and started doing co-op to do challenging missions and a couple of incursions. And yeah the biggest challenge soloing was not getting flanked or over run by guys with shot guns or flame throwers. I gave up on the DZ after being ganked several times (including by groups I had revived in there) and after being stalked by a guy who acted friendly at first then as I latched on to extract he shot me in the back. He then kept finding me and stalking me every time I re-entered so I decided that Level 17 or whatever I was at the time was the end. Even went in with some friends a couple of times and found the whole experience shitty.

Slowly ooching closer to level 70. Just did bounties today, all on hard level, but it's still taking forever. I'm now at 66.
I've decided this game is the ultimate troll. I finally got Izual to drop the recipe for the Staff of Herding, but of course all the ingredients I have for it are in the stash for my regular characters. And never the twain shall meet.

Went back to the beginning of Chapter Two in Pathfinder: Kingmaker after getting almost to the end of the chapter and realising I had missed a companion . I mean, I guess I didn't have to but Jubilost is the only character I know of right now who can be Treasurer and going without one for months had left my economy in bad shape. Also, if you don't have him in the party to throw acid at all those trolls, what's the point?
