I tried playing Ethan Carter a bit more, but it bugged out on me. I'm at the churchyard and trying to get all the facts about the murder there. But after finding all clues and bringing the scenes into the correct order, only the first one plays, where Ethans Dad asks Missy, where his son is and then it breaks up. I even looked at a walkthrough and I had the correct order of scenes and still nothing. One time, the game hung itself up and I had to redo the whole quest. But it seems, I can't finish it. Do I miss something? Is it a bug?

Since Ethan Carter didn't work properly, I played Pillars of Eternity a bit more. I explored Defiance Bay and accidently stumbled through my main quest, while walking through the catacombs. Well, at least, I didn't have to look for that temple, it found me on it's own. After some talk and some fighting, I found out a strange thing about Aloth

Well I'm deeply hooked by The Division these Days. Yesterday I finished the mainstory, even though there are gaps since I haven't picked up all phone recs, incident reps, survival guides etc yet. But it is a really nice backdrop and atmosphere they have built up. Also started up the spooky underground. To Think IF they gave the protagonist a voice, some choices and dialogue... Anyway, I'm really liking the endgame as well. With survival, underground, incursions, west side, Dark zone and high value targets you can pick and chose what suits you. Solo or co-op? Why not both? Yeah it is a good game and challenging especially solo. The underground is creepy, I hope they have fixed the ladder glitch, had several missions ruined by getting stuck on ladders. Yeah a bit more depth to the story and a voice protag would have been good. I stopped playing to play MEA and went back and tried to play about 3 months ago and having escaped the grind I just couldn't get back into it so haven't done West Side, I also found the Incursions way too stressful, literally. Will check it out again when TD2 comes out.

Well my fiancee asked me an interesting question: She asked for a list of games, either those that are out or coming out, that I was most looking forward to. Probably since the holidays are coming out.
1. Horizon Zero Dawn. Maybe not the game I know the most about but as I have stated it is one that I wanted and now...well for what is in it its now dirt cheap. And it did look interesting just have not gotten an attempt on it yet obviously. 2. Ace Combat 7/ 5 re release. Even if this game does end up stinking it will be worth it to play my childhood favorite again but since its Ace Combat and since they seem to have learned from their idiocies with Assault Horizon and..that freemium game that they released, I doubt it. Plus the story looks really, really interesting in an Ace Combat sort of way. 3. Assassin Creed Odyssey: This game looks really really good. It looks like Dragon Age Inquisition but many of the improvements in the gameplay overall. But then throw in a little Blackflag (which I never played but also looked good), some Witcher in there, some Parkhour...some Arrow maybe (not a game but I am weird), it just looks like it has something for everyone and one video I watched on it just this morning indicates that you might just be able to properly roleplay Alexios/ Kass. 4. Greedfall: Another RPG from this time a smaller developer with a really interesting hook: More modern (17t century) combat combined with native magics so you basically have wizards and firearms exisisting simultaneously. However this game also really looks like its plot could be a bit on the preachy side so I am weary for that reason and well I migt have another more complete RPG to put my hard earned money coming out to sink my teeth into...or two if DA 4 also is officially announced. 5. RDR 2: Now this game looks gorgeous, it sounds gorgeous, there sounds like there is so much to do and the world just looks beautiful. But I didn't really care about the John Marston one too much and well...I do often mull over the morality of Rockstar games. I know they are just games and I do not judge anyone for playing them but I just not sure if I like the idea of being a criminal. But then I am getting this game for my fiancee eventually so it may be a game I will play myself one day...but there is a lot of other games I want to play or replay first.
So to the gameplay, played a bit of Ghost Recon Wildlands. Now yesterday when I plyed I discovered that my sniper rifle didn't have the option to equip a suprressor anymore. Doing research on it though I discovered this was a bug...which was patched and low and behold I downloaded a patch yesterday so wanted to double check and yes my sniper has its suppressor back. Thank god. Ran two missions today, hunted La Plaga today and it was fun, during my first PT I really struggled with it and had a rough time, this time did it in one go and that was totally messing it up too. I actually did the mission from the opposite side of the house. And well, thought my sniper was sepressed, it wasn't, and well that brough holy hell on me. Still after a major fire fight I still pulled it off. Second mission was unintentional, after finishing with La Cruz I went to Remanzo..El Gato's region. After all I think all my medals are collected I wanted so now I am going through the regions I unlocked while traveling around and getting them first. So in Remanzo while looking for intel about the exra stuff in the region...what I do first...I stumbled upon a random mission. The same random mission I stumbled upon by accident in Remanzo in the first PT. And since I almost had to go do something else, so I opted for a centra assault rolling firefight. And the objective came out to play so I shot him.

More SotTR new game +, and some thoughts. Continuing the theme from the last post, the thing I really like about this game - and I suspect has been overlooked a lot in reviews as you have to be pretty far through to see this - is the arc through the game she has.
Warning - mahoosive spoilers ahead for Lara herself - and a bit of the main plot. So Lara has been trying her best and mucking up throughout the game - largely through taking impulsive actions she thinks are the best at the time, but which tend to come back to bite her. We get to the point here, where she sees the death of the woman she just rescued - and is emotionally invested in (as we are) - and it happens right in front of her, which she is powerless to prevent. The next scene shows how much this actually affects her, but she brings it all together with some composure. However it appears to be the sign of the first big crack in her mental armour - building on all the smaller ones that have occurred. A short while later after saying good bye and moving on, she is still clearly torn up about it - looking at the chain she was given in a thoughtful manner as if reflecting on her failure to save the woman. Of course, this little boat trip all goes to shit a short while later, and she again fears that she has lost someone. Alone she frantically tries to call Jonah, but realises he appears to be gone. Has she lost someone else? The guy who subsequently attacks her seems to trigger a further break in her mental fortitude. "Don't try me" she says - something has clearly begin to break. Needless to say, this guy dies a fairly brutal and intimate death at her hands. It's a real up-close and dirty fight. Ultimately, this all manifests itself in this scene, where after being taunted over the death of Jonah, she finally breaks - and brutally kills this guy with a terribly blank look on her face. Cue roaring rampage of revenge. Once that has passed, she is clearly upset at her actions and where she has ended up, surveying the carnage in a rather distraught manner. Her response to Jonah reappearing is interesting, as she is clearly overwhelmed by the sight of him. Perhaps she realises how far she has been pushed and fears she is still broken - 'making everything worse' as she later says. His first attempts at trying to bring her back are rebuffed - she rejects the outstretched hand and she turns away, putting distance between them. Is she afraid of hurting him? Making things go bad for him like they have for the others? She thought he was dead once before, what if it happens for real this time? However
he knows what buttons to press to try and get through to her - by focusing her mind on the puzzle still remaining, and making her realise what she can do - and also indicating her intelligence, it must be said - he brings her back a little. We see a little smile as she solves the puzzle, giving them hope - and proving that she can still maybe make things better. What I like about this is that it isn't a romantic gesture or even sexual - it plays to her brain and sense of purpose. And that is why I think this is the best incarnation of Lara Croft in a long time. She is actually a person - vulnerable, emotional and flawed; but at the same time indomitable, intelligent, utterly driven and deep down has a sense of what is right and just. And I really enjoy the time spent in her company.

Been practically giddy to see Carcaryn again. So played a bit with her in Baldur's Gate. Long rambling spoilers in spoilers because of spoilers. So she entered the big tent and painted it in a pretty shade of red. Gave Xzar a web spell some time back and he decided to spice things up by casting it. Luckily it wasn't our doom. Again charmed the Hobgoblin, even if it was kinda moot since he got webbed and stayed webbed long past everyone else's deaths. So...
Never had Monty in the team so far in the game so got a neat little surprise from him with how he dealt with Ender Sai. Guessing it's from the NPC mod, but still, nice. His dialog was confusing as ever, but I got the gist of it. And hey, no negative rep points so no skin off her back.
Then hauled our butts to Nashkel since Dorn had mentioned wanting to find one of his lady friends. So wandered the countryside until we found her and murdered all in between. Gave her a taste of the one gift lost and then she was gone.
Decided to go to Beregost and sell our growing collection of stinky scalps but Vai was nowhere to be found. Guessing she doesn't want to deal with such a villainous lot.
So went to Cloakwood instead. Ettercaps are still the scum of the earth, but everyone else was pretty nice. Even managed to kill the Hamadryad without drama. Just gave Dorn some magic blocking potion in his belly and had Xzar fling a few magic missiles from a distance. Also did the Wyvern cave and it was kinda odd not having Coran hitting on the skulls. But the party is full so he'll just have to sulk on his bridge.
Did the mine quartet dirty by casting web and then dousing them with fire. Out of their sight for maximum cheese. Revenge for all the time they made me watch my mooks get moved down as they ran around terrified and confused.
More funny dialog spotted in the mine.
Guard: You there! You're not supposed to be in this area! Surrender yourselves now. Dorn: You're going to die, little guard. Guard: You wouldn't kill a man with a wife and ten children, would you? Dorn: Yessss, we would.
There are quite a lot of literal "Mwahahaha" moments in this game.
So yeah we took a tour of the mine to kill it's hostile workers. The docile ones would be drowned.
Hareishan also got played dirty by web, one gift lost and hasted Dorn with Spiderbane and belly full of magic blocking. Cast your lightning witch! Only one you'll be hurting is yourself.
I think the cook was drunk since she said this to Dorn "You're a bunch of greenheads, ain't ya? You've come here to guzzle, or maybe one of you handsome stags wants to shag me. I am quite a fubsy, aren't I? Heh heh heh." Well allrighty then. Granted it might do him some good, untwist those panties of his.
Managed to also play Davorn dirty. Kinda. So webbed him, one lost gift and had Vicci cast silence. He got silenced, so send Dorn in. Bugger teleports, but at least his lightning trap was shut. So threw glitterdust at him (because glitter!), Dorn poisoned him and Xzar sent some magic missiles. And he fell. Eventually. But with no harm to us. Hurrah! Evil wins again!.
Then went back upstairs and dealt with Natasha. A gift, some grease and magically protected Dorn. Vicci also helped with a bit of person holding. She couldn't even cast a single spell, it went that well. It also helped that her buddies were somewhere picking their noses and not putting poison arrows in our bums.
A bit amused that drowning a bunch of slaves in icy water gives me only 2 rep drop. Would have gotten more drops if I dealt with them personally, but I guess it's rep discount? But handy since it only drops me to 6 rep, so no flaming fists are going to bother me. Carcaryn is fine with wanton murder, but having to murder her way through authorities to be able to by her beauty products sounds....less than ideal.
Anyways, it was off to Baldur's Gate and the usual debating of which quests to do. Ended up doing pretty few quests. Did all of Scar's quests because cash money. Got a body for him there mage on the way, then nicked his amulet and gave it to his lady enemy. Also found some mages on the top floor of Sourcerous Sundries, killed a basilisk, got some Balduran attire and that was pretty much it.
Went to Candlekeep and then back out. But not before committing the murders she'd be accused of. Because she aint no innocent. Got to meet Doppler Winthrop and I don't really get his logic. "Aye, I've heard what ye've been telling all yer little firends - that ol' Winthrop has a hankerin' fer a little elven arse every now and then! Heh, come here, my pretty, and I'll soon change your mind..." And just how are you going to do that? Just because you go for gnome bum doesn't mean you don't want them elves...Either way...creepy. But nothing that couldn't be solved with a few arrows and swords.
Cheesed Prat and his fellows, because no. Not dealing with you people. Was going to walk just past them, but one of them spotted the group so... Either way got out and the group made their way to the Friendly Arm Inn for some rest and quite a few stiff drinks. Ended her session at the Friendly Arm Inn. Been idling with the idea of tackling Durlag's tower with her. Kinda want to, kinda don't. So will have to see tomorrow. But had quite a bit of fun today. So that was nice.

After a bit of a hiatus, I'm back on Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It continues to impress visually, but as I'm slogging through the Hidden City, I find I've lost nearly all interest in the storyline. I'm now just over 30 hours into this and tbh... it's starting to feel like a chore. And there's just way too much busywork. This is not a problem I had with the two prior games (which I really enjoyed and had 100% completion). I'm going to power my way through the main storyline, because I do want to see the ending. But I probably won't go back to finish all the challenge tombs and side quests on this one.

colfoley , I’m enjoying AC Odyssey, but I think you’re grossly overestimating it. The gameplay isn’t nearly as varied or polished as you suspect, in my opinion; and the RP is rudimentary at best. It is fun, but I wouldn’t want you to go into it expecting it to be something it’s not. It’s good to see HZD at the top of that list. As much as you enjoy all things archery, I’m surprised you’ve not yet played it. It remains the single most polished gaming experience I’ve ever had. It’s definitely the best archery-focused action game. The gameplay is fast, varied and smooth. I’ve been playing AC Odyssey. The grind is real in this game. It takes many levels (and hours) before your protagonist begins to approach the competency of all previous leads. There are good points, though, and the grind becomes more enjoyable once you transition from lowly biatch to demigod.

There are good points, though, and the grind becomes more enjoyable once you transition from lowly biatch to demigod. I know. I know that watching someone play a game is nothing like actually playing a game for yourself. In the positive way playing through ME 1 and ME 2 they were actually kind of boring games to watch on youtube or...well...they were very fun games to watch on youtube but the experience of actually playing them was much more enjoyable and overall stellar. Same pretty much with the BioShock series. On the negative side Farcry 4 is much more of a chore playing it then I would've thought from the youtube videos that it was quite enjoyable but...its a chore plain and simple. So much so I find it kind of hard wanting to continue it especially since me playing Ghost Recon again recently has given me that itch back. As far as AC O is concerned taking all of this in hand if I get it, or someone gets it for me I expect much later next year. Maybe even a 'Game of the Year edition' or something hopefully for a discount so even if I end up agreeing with you at least I am not out too much money. I think one of the reasons why ACO 'looks' so good is because I am going through serious Dragon Age withdrawls so even something that bares a rudimentary resemblance to DA is tingling my radar, the story looks like its something right up my alley from the brief bits I've seen (and I hope DA 4 does something similar all things told), and ironically enough since I am watching Arrow and catching up with that show for some reason I really want to be able to do bow, then close range melee fighting on the drop of a hat, with added parkour...which ACO seems to have all of that...and I hope DA 4 has some variance on that too.

Will check it out again when TD2 comes out. I got the game dirt cheap on UBE3 sale this summer. But they more or less guaranteed themselves a TD2 pre-order form me. So Anthem, TD2 and Rage2 early next year. I will have to apply for early retirement. It is interesting though that Anthem's sales pitch is a ARPG style game like The Division only with a voiced protagonist, story and dialogue choices. While looking over my missions map yesterday I noticed a "Michelle Kwan part four" mission. After part three I thought she died and was a bit vexed by dr Kandel not seeming to want to talk about it. So made a speedy gonzales over there mowing down Rikers and Last man batalion on the way only to find a relly Beautiful and sweet ending to that quest chain. Haven't talked to Jessica Kandel yet though. I upped the World tier to Three and got grenade launched to hell by a LMB unit. They were way more than I initially thought. Ended last nights run with a fina (?) message from Aaron Keener. Bastard.

Allods. I finally managed to get Core Morpher from daily and changed my main character into Priden You can't change into the same class, so for now I chose Trapper (class a la druid). Maybe if I manage to get another Core Morpher, I'll change her back to mage. But for now, I'll enjoy running around with animal companion. Diablo 3. I finished Act I and Act II with my seasonal wizard, and started Act III. Between quests I jumped into adventure mode to either run quick Nephalem Rift or to use Kanai Cube. Of course Lyndon had to be the one to get immortality token first. That guy really wants to be my main support. I also finished most Slayer objectives. The only one that's left is set dungeon. Ugh, I don't like wizard's set dungeons... To the point where I'm thinking about leveling different class (by other class I mean demon hunter, I really miss Impale build). Jotun. I defeated 4th boss, as well as cleared 1 out of two areas leading to 5th one. I checked out achievements for this game and nope, I'm not doing most of them. I can't imagine defeating some of these bosses without powers. Especially Fé

I needed a break from my usual games: lately I was switching from action to isometric RPG but neither fully engaged me and after a while every game I started bored (and bothered) me for no inherently reasons, but probably just because I am too tired these days and I can't focus on a game as it usually requires. Here's why I started looking for something more casual with the result that I've been hooked by Winter Wolves games, which are a mix between western VN and turned based RPG set in high fantasy worlds. I just finished Loren the Amazon Princess (which was surprisingly a great experience) and now I am playing its spinoff, named Tales of Aravorn: Seasons of the Wolf. If it proves to be as good as the first one maybe I'll try some other games from this company, such as Planet Stronghold and its prequel, Planet Stronghold: Colonial Defense two sci-fi games which combine, respectively, VN + RPG elements and VN + Card Game elements.

PoE I visited an asylum, went as well as can be expected if a group of mentally challenged adventurers comes visiting. At least we weren't blamed for what happened. After that, we've got an invitation from a lady Webb - I was hoping she turned out to be a talking spider, but she is just a woman PoE is really fine, despite me taking a very long time to finish it. The only thing that is sometimes bothering is that some conversations are unnecessarily long and not that interesting. I had one conversation with Durance about him helping build Godhammer, a mass destruction weapon. It was an interesting bit of information to have, but the conversation just did go on and on and Durance didn't say anything new, he just said, that they were twelve people, that his goddess was not happy and he calls her whore a lot. He tells you a bit about the fighting and how the weapon was made, but a lot of questions just brought up similar answers. The conversation was more than a quarter of an hour long and it could have been finished in half the time and would have been much more interesting. In the end I was just thinking 'Durance, stfu, please.' But other than that, it's a great game and highly recommended for all Baldur Gate fans out there (most of you probably have finished the game a long time ago )

Perhaps it's the first game where I cannot name at least a companion who's been able to impress me, somehow. I don't know if they improved this element in the 2nd game, since I've not played it yet and I am trying to avoid any spoiler therefore I am not reading any topic about it.

I do like Eder and the Chanter. Aldoth with his extra passenger is kind of funny too

Kana is love Kana is life. Carcaryn visited Durlags Tower. Scouted the upper levels and sided with the lady of the upper floors. Then scouted the first level of the basement and was poking around on the second floor when real life rudely interrupted. So far it hasn't been too bad. And I seem to have misremembered since we can still just leave. Which makes life a lot easier. But there are more floors to come and more chances for tears I guess. --- Huzzah. Wrapped up the last few floors of Durlag's Tower. I think I was playing with Sword Coast stratagems last time since playing Chess was not the hair tearing headache like it is in real life. And just in general the whole area was a lot easier. Maybe I got good, but I doubt it. Either way, emerged into the sun victorious. Actually had a real lucky break the first time and managed to stun the demon and kill it in one try. So was like whoah this is easy, but someone died and I couldn't be arsed to figure out which of their stuff to haul to the surface and which to leave behind. So hey, I do it again and try to keep everyone alive. Hehe. The next few tries made me realize how redonkulously lucky I got on the first try. But patience and reloading eventually paid off and managed to kill the boss with my five packmules alive and mostly not dead. Selling off the treasure and dagger holding incompetence will be saved for the next session. But another huzzah for a fairly painless trek through Durlag's Tower.

Diablo 3. I loaded my non-seasonal demon hunter to check how many legendaries that I have in stash I need to cube. Well, there's whole stash tab of them I might make use of double bounty rewards to clean it. I was already logged on, so I decided to get at least bounty from Act II to start the spring cleaning, since it was the only one I had no mats from. Aaaaand, I ended up using rebirth right after finishing that first bounty. Sweet mother of damage, I forgot how good Impale build feels. You can most likely do magic like that with wizard as well, but it's Impale dh that I know how to one-shot bosses on Torment XIII with. Hellfire Ring and Amulet crafted, now I'm just hunting legendary gems and Blood Shards with my wizard, to make leveling and gearing dh as painless as possible. Also, as we're getting closer to BlizzCon, there's more and more rumors about Diablo 4. And tbh, with how BlizzCon schedule looks, with Blizzard releasing new Diablo merch, recent custom Diablo console contest... I'm actually starting to hope.

Lets see here back to continuing with FC 4 right now. Did an Eye for an Eye mission...those are always fun where you have to go kill a badguy with a specific weapon, except you had to do two of them that time and got into a bit of a firefight.
Then a story mission was up. Amita bitched about me destroying that factory and pointed out that if Sabal were so concerned about things then he would send me to deal with keeping the 'statues of kyra safe'. First attempt on it I fell off a mountain which was fun, and then the second attempt I triggered the bombs a 5 minute countdown, but then I ripped through them all and then killed their reinforcements, then I lit the braziers.
After that assassination, don't be seen, kill a bad guy, take a picture. I did not realize the guy I was shooting at was the bad guy in question so I got caught...like three times. I did get through it though.
