Got it, and it was considered a Novigrad card. Still no idea what the other 2 Velen cards might be. I tried playing vs that noble first time I was there and gave up since he kept playing high value cards I had no hope of matching. Can't wait for a rematch. Yes, I think it was a bad move to give the first opponent you can you can play, such a high level deck. It just turned people off learning the game. They made it a bit better by improving your starting deck with a patch, but it's still a hard match, even for an experienced player. Inside the spoiler is a wall of text, text file I made, it might help you find which Velen cards you haven't got. (s) = starting deck (r) = random. Beat Ion Fury on "maximum fury", which was it's hardest difficulty, and with nowhere near as many deaths or tantrums as with Gears 4. Oh and nothing was broken during the process, which is nice.

So did a bit more Kass, and came across something I thought was interesting.
Just a normal side quest, Barnabas nephew was a bit sick so I needed to find out what was wrong with him. In the course of various investigations (including a corrupt doctor) I came across this little girl: So being the Big Damn Heroine I am, we helped her out to find her brother who was training at the gymnasium. First some sass from Kassandra: Then taking him down a peg or two for info: And in the end we don't know where her brother has gone, and she runs off. That little bit ends, and I'm thinking - ok, this'll pick up again later in the chain, won't it. So off we go again, telling someone who is far too insistence to bugger off: Honestly, she is so well written and acted. Then we threatened a merchant who was drugging the athletes.. .. rescued (some) of them, and I'm thinking the brother will be there somewhere, but nope. So threatened the merchant again (not sure why I let him live): Ended up finishing things with the doctor, and I'm thinking, ok, where is the next bit ofthe girl's quest eh? We have the antidote, found the athletes.. Dealt with more cultists, and I'm thinking that this is a it odd, it just sort of ended cos we need to leave the island. So I'm just looting the corpses, as you do, when I notice a figure has appeared, so I run over. If you can't read the subtitles it says 'I found him, but I was too late. If only I had known h was at the quarry all this time'.
So yeah, I stood there for a good minute feeling utterly miserable, as (unless I missed something) I never had even a chance of helping her. And if I hadn't looked around I would never have seen her. You're not supposed to fail like this, you are the heroine. And you are certainly not meant to find out like this, as if their lives were so unimportant.
Sometimes it's good to have failure. I don't know how deliberate this was by Ubisoft, but for some reason it really got to me.
Anyway, Kass was so pissed she literally just kicked the front door in of the bad guys. No stealth or subtlety, just straight up murder mode. This bit at the end was a pleasant and welcome surprise though: And all that in a side quest; Bioware really need to up their game based on this.
Can't see your pic's????? Is it just me? Probably take a while to load, there's a lot of gifs.

I played Unavowed a bit more. I think, I have only two missions before the big showdown left. There was some tragic incident and I've met my old cop partner Vicky again, who has joined the Unavowed. It is really a fun game, where you don't have the classical good versus evil. Ok, the main antagonist seems to be really evil, at least he/she/it (don't know for sure yet) did a lot of really bad stuff, but other creatures you've met weren't so bad in the end. My favorite so far is The dragon in Chinatown - she is so beautiful (and yes, according to the lore those kind of dragon spirits are female)

Well, I won the gwent tournament and then got cheated out of half my winnings. I knew Sasha couldn't be trusted, I just didn't know why. I get the devs probably didn't want players getting a huge windfall of coin just from cards but they didn't have to make the pot so big. Or, they could have scaled it to the difficulty the gwent matches are set at. I'm playing on easy so I wouldn't have minded winning even just twice what I put in. Save the huge jackpot for someone playing all the matches on the hardest setting. But don't tell me what I'm supposed to win at the beginning and then only give me a part of it because....reasons. Still, earned the achievement and won 4500 crowns so it wasn't all bad. The stupid fist fight in the middle was a pita though.
I went back to Skellige to finish the fist fighting. Uh, that was interesting. I had to change the game difficulty back to easy mode to beat Grim and Einar. However, Olaf
the bear was kind of a pushever. Loved Geralt's reaction on first seeing him: Oh, shit.
Then I took on the Champion of Champions, which was a bit trickier but at least dodge was enabled again so after a practice round I beat
the rock troll and became the new Champion of Champions.
Earned one other achievement too: Moo-derer. Fast-traveled back and forth to Alness and killed the same 2 cows ten times over. Haven't been discovered by the Bovine Defense Force yet.
Fooling around out of the way, Geralt grabbed Uma, took a detour back to Vizima for another meeting with Emhyr, then headed for Kaer Morhen. Wolf Armor, here I come!

ACOD Atlantis One of the things that annoy me about this DLC is everything important seems to be sky high. I'm wary of using the Hermes ports to enemy places because I've no idea where Kass would be spat onto so more often than not, she's climbing the hills to eternity. I've to admit I've the shivers whenever I leap Kass off the top of the hills. The bottom is so far away. I've almost cleared the third of the pie with only the Overseer left. The last quarter pie looks to be Persephone's place or something very important because I see a huge building on the map. Hekate's wants Kass to pick up a book. I did that already but I'm not going to hand it in yet until I open up everything.

I finished Unavowed - my god, is this depressing. I did all the things right and showed mercy, but it seems, I made a wrong decision in the end by refusing the mean spirit back into my body. I thought, refusing her was the right thing to do, but she just took over, killed all my friends and did go on a murder spree again.

Fallout 4. Went to Galactic Zone and went around trying to find 20 star cores so I can shut down the robot defensive mode. As usual I tried not to attack any robots or turrets, just suck it up and take stims whenever HPs got low. The power armor that I found on a convoy suffered major damage also. Found the 20 cores and shut down the defense mode. Now the robots are happy and going about their business. Observed some raiders attacking some wastelanders, didn't join in or interfere, not our business. But Gab really doesn't like raiders and hates Gunners, she's just playing along with the Nuka raiders until the time is right. She didn't forget being forced into that gauntlet after all. Got a call back home to the Commonwealth. Seems like a settlement that has a defense of 200 something needs my presence. I went to my Red Rocket base to drop off the damage power armor. Just after dropping it off and leaving my warehouse some super mutants decided to attack my RR base. The defenses made short work of them but not before they blew up one of her cars. Gab was mad at that. Went to Sanctuary, which was the settlement under attack, and took out her rage on them with her mini gun. Since I was in the Commonwealth, ventured to that cabin with the hidden military base in the Glowing Sea to acquire the power armor that is there. Damn droids, damaged my newly acquired power armor! I'm so not impressed by these inbred raiders. Can't wait to end them. Look at this! They blew up my car! These muties will all suffer for this outrage! From time to time, after a quick save, I'll have my character engage a powerful enemy with a melee weapon. Gab showed who the savage was after she bashed this deathclaw to bits with a super sledge.

Hmm, I think I may have missed a couple from rescued merchants but if that's the case, I may have a problem. If the two remaining Velen cards come from "random" merchants, there aren't any more random cards available so, then what?

Ok, I replayed the ending of Unavowed and got a better one. I can live with that Did ... everyone (companions) survive?
1] Agreeing and 2] showing mercy will allow the antagonist to control her body and Melkhiresa again.
3] Jump off the building. This will free Melkhiresa and kill the body.
4] Threaten to kill the body and negotiate for release. Melkhiresa will be freed and the antagonist gets her body back but loses the pocket realm and her power.

I used option 4 as my final choice, after I tried refusing letting the human soul in again in a first try, I reloaded and decided to negotiate Melkhiresas release.

Realized I forgot to claim all those freebies I got from Humble Bundle when I spotted them, so I didn't actually get any of them. Pity about the lego stuff, otherwise I found it pretty funny. So lesson of the day is read the fine print. Was out of town for the weekend, so little Yakuza to be played. Did start another attempt at Pokemon Moon though and ended the session at the first trial area. Had an okay time, but guessing this attempt will peter out pretty soon as well. Then did get some a lot of Yakuza 0 in. Was really glad the session started with the overpowered Kiryu, since I was a bit out of practice. But nothing that beating people up with stone lanterns can't fix. Did his current story bit, which was mostly just negotiations and beating people up, so business as usual. Had a shock horror reveal about my dear Tachibana, but crossing fingers he has a good explanation for this. Which he probably wont and I'll end up crying, but until then, holding onto that hope! Then moved on to Majima. Got his beginning story bit out of the way, then went right into sidequest town. AKA grinding on his cabaret club business, since I need that cash money to upgrade his moves and stuff. Super important main quest can wait! Also found some new side quests, which was fun. And hopefully watched all the bikini vids I need to watch quest wise. Did get another quest out of it and nononono I've managed to steer clear of the Ring, don't you go cursing me game!!! Anyways. The club stuff is going fine. Going to hit my first club battle next session so excited to see if I'll get absolutely owned or if I actually have been doing good at what ever it is I'm doing in this venture. So had a pretty good time.

So played a bunch of Madden. Onto season 2 of my franchise after running through the 'draft'. I used it as an opprotunity to add some of the other players the Pats have that I wasn't able to get to...or 'lost'. It actually took every single draft pick to do what I wanted. But with that unpleasentness out of the way...onto the actual season.
Oh and I executed a trade for Mohamad Sanu...the same trade the Pats did IRL...except I kept Gordon...ha!
I think I am off to a 7-0 start. The injury bug hasn't been...horrible so far...though Chase Winovich and James White did start off with multi week injuries. Which was a bit of an annoyance...but I've had my super version of Michel healthy for the entire time. And having White out has given Bolden and Burkhead plenty of extra opprotunities, which the've taken advantage of. It is both gratifying and frustrating a bit on just how dominating I can be and this team has been so far. I have pretty much not had a single 'hard' game. Its fun in a way but there is a certain tension in a last minute win. Oh well...but then again since I get mad even with kicking 3 straight field goals to go up 16-0 against the Colts... As good as I have been overall its a bit amusing that I have been doing so lacklustre on 3rd down, just like the IRL Pats, only 51%, quite middling really. Though much better then my IRL. I blamed that part at least on the early lack of White... oh but on fourth down I have a 87% success rate. In the Red Zone I am doing quite fantastic. Though defensively I have the 2nd worse Redzone defense in the league. White has been officially back for 2 games and already has 18 catches which is also a bit amusing. For the most part my Offense has been going pretty balanced with slight leaning to the run. My last game against Miami though Michel was hurt on the first play of the game...even though he would return he is quite valuable to the team so I went quite heavy on the pass attack. 6 TDs for Brady, I think over 500 yards...did get picked though. So some personal stats: Brady 2800+ yards, 32 TDs, like 140+ QBR. Edelman is leading the team with 28 catches and 2 TDs. Gronk has 26, Gordon and Michel both have 24 to round out the tops in that category. Gordon has 5 TDs, Ryder has 7 (on just 14 catches) and Gronk also has 5. Michel has 880 yards on the ground with 11 TDs (10 on the ground one through the air). Team stats: Top passing offense, top total offense, 6th best rushing offense, 3 best scoring rushing offense. Top total defense and 4th best scoring defense.

Hmm, I think I may have missed a couple from rescued merchants but if that's the case, I may have a problem. If the two remaining Velen cards come from "random" merchants, there aren't any more random cards available so, then what?
Your book shows you you have 2 Velen cards to get. Is that right ? That would mean you must have rescued the merchant from Claywich or you would have 5 cards still to get. Black Infantry Archer (you should have 2 of these, the other from the merchant in Lindenvale.) Etolian Auxiliary Archers (you should have 2 of these, the other from the merchant in Lindenvale.) Puttkammer Sweers Crinfrid Reavers Dragon Hunter ( You should have 3 of these, 1 from the innkeeper at White Orchid, & 1 from the merchant in Midcorpse.) Is it possible you rescued him and only bought 3 of the 5 cards he had for sale ? Merchants don't have random cards, they have set cards. Some merchants sell the same cards, and if you buy a particular card from one merchant, other merchants that had that card, will no longer have it. Random cards of which you have no more to find, can't be bought, they have to be won, and there are more card players than the 47 random cards. Once you win a random card, that card is just removed from the random list that you can play for, until you have them all. But that list shows every card, and how many you should have, so it is just a matter of going through each deck and seeing which 2 cards you are missing.

Is it possible you rescued him and only bought 3 of the 5 cards he had for sale ? That is possible, since early on I tended to not buy cards I already had. I won the Triss card from Lambert and beat the noble in Vizima, so those 2 are all I have left to get. Until I get to DLC, that is. I appreciate all your help.
Oh, main story-wise, I de-cursed Uma who is now Avallach and recruited my "Full Crew." Now I need to find a boat and sail to the Isle of Mists.
I seemed to skip the rest of the assassination plotline....I forget, do I need to pester them to let me help some more or do they request it in due course? Although, now that Roche agreed to help at Kaer Morhen, Geralt would have to be one giant a-hole to then side with Dijkstra later on.

Started an ME3 run, as an Engineer.
RedCaesar97 has stated his affinity for the class, and I wanted to try something different.
I admit, the tactical level is unprecedented, but I find myself missing biotics as a Vanguard or Sentinel. Still, it's a challenge and that's what I was aiming for, pun intended.
Also, in the middle of Mask of the Betrayer... Whaddya get when an aasimar Favored Soul, a human Red Wizard, a hagspawn Spirit Shaman, and a half-celestial Cleric walk into a forest?
Well, they solve an ancient blight and put a millennia-old monster to rest.
Nothing quite like saving nature by throwing Firestorms, holy hammers, and missiles that belong to Isaac at evil trees and rocks.

Provided you saved Thaler (You must have if you got the Geralt card) Then when you go to rescue Phillipa from Dijkstra, he will ask you to meet him at a warehouse.

So played bunch of Yakuza 0 today. Or well I guess I can call it Cabaret Club simulator this session. Hehe. So getting okayish at managing the club. Failed spectacularly at the rival battle since I was being stupid, but after a bit more training and just sticking with my style I've won two of the Five Stars. Yes! And luckily loosing the battle does not end the game or the club, so it's less nerve wracking than I thought. So feel like I'm getting less cash than in Kiryu's business and the job is more challenging, but there is a much lower tier you need to get to move on with the plot and partnerships are so, so much cheaper, thus it sorta balances out. As in less payout, but very involved and not as much of a grind (so far) at least to move up in rank. Alas because of the involvement I can't get distracted, so eventually took a break when my mind started to wander. Roamed the city and found Space Harrier! And I kinda liked it. Well, not enough that I'll play it in my free time but the side quest connected to it was a lot less dangerous to my sanity than the Outrun one. And the crotch shot when thinking about the clerks fantasy zone was a lot less icky since she had less of a baby face than the other one. And it only played once. Thank the maker. Since I needed like 5 runs to get the required score for the fantasy zone. Which was far, far away from her crotch. Heh. Then went out of the arcade and the ground started glitching. A big texture glitch down a whole street. Which is a big nono because I'm having tons of fun and don't want the game to break on me. So calling it quits for this session and crossing every limb that it's not fatal. Because then I'll cry. Other than that I had loads of fun this session. So that's good.

Forgot to mention.....I gave Yen her crystal skull back. That was a pretty underwhelming conversation.
olnorton I notice you have 3 Gaunter O'Dimm cards on that list. Are those from the base game or HoS only? I certainly don't have any of them.
Edit: It was the Claywich merchant I hadn't rescued yet. While he does have 5 cards for sale, only 2 of them (Puttkammer and Sweers) are unique. Those were the two I needed to complete the collection!
2d edit: You know who doesn't have a card but needs one? ROACH!!!

Some pics of boys' night in. I didn't do the crank call in my first PT. Lambert imitating Vesemir was still pretty funny.
Proof I collected all the "unique" cards in the base game. Sounds like more were added in the DLCs but I can't worry about that yet. Next up is go find Ciri!

Tron 2.0 When I initially played this, the light cycles was hell. Looks cool but s*** to drive. What was the problem? Because it went so fast, the arena too small, the turns are very fast and I often ended crashing into my own generated barrier because it's such a long tail and I was more on keeping an eye on the red's barrier than my own. Additionally, the camera angles are not really that helpful. I had a rough time trying to get past this stage and at one point wanted to give up. I didn't and made it through. If I remembered it right, they patched the light cycles after I finished the game. When I play this stage just now, it's surprising easy. A relief though another thing about playing this old game on present day rig; it just takes a second or two to reload unlike the old days. Making progression, met Ma3a and Mercury. This is Mercury. I was wondering if Jet would meet her user when he gets back to the real world and then I remember who's her user.

So XCOM might not be for me afterall. My death count is now up to 5...I am having trouble keeping Rangers alive for the life of me, yes it makes sense that since they are my scouts, but yikes. And my first mission to take down one of the Avatar facilities was a bit of a...disaster. I got through it OK but got one of my sharpshooters killed. AND it was a shot that I am reasonably sure couldn't have it. It was straight down a sheer...side of a building with the person above...I was INSIDE the building. Also a mech didn't trigger all my overwatches when it stood right in vision of said door and then when it shot my guy it said 'overwatch removed'. I mean yes, should've taken cover but really the shot shouldv've worked...and its this sort of randomness I cannot abide. As is the randomness of the missing of the shots. On the other hand I do kind of want to keep this PT going to its bitter end...or victory? Nothing else really going on in the PS + side of my gaming right now and I am curious to see how it ends...I've never seen anyone fail before.
