Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. I reached the plains of Erathell. While technically similar to the desert area, the plains look more welcoming. I helped a young necromancer to raise an undead army, which should have made the skeletons in the area friendly. For some reason, they remained hostile, but the quest was marked as completed. Though, the undead were the least dangerous thing there, breaking to pieces from one combo. The Ettin, on the other hand, could kill me, if there were 3+ of them. Screenshots:

Royal AlchemistI'll be darned. I fell for another Tsundere. Good news is I spent way too many training weeks but I bested the bastard in combat. it was so worth it. And I didn't see the twists at the end coming. It helps that there were a few layers of bad guys, with differing desired outcomes, and different reasons for doing what they were doing. I felt truly sorry for my beau's personal losses. I regret not being able to support Nazir as a friend. This is not a game where romance is 50% supported by a well written narrative background that mostly exists to make the characters exciting. I believe there is an option not to romance anyone, and so the romance is really only like.... 4 specific scenes total? with some flavor lines placed here and there throughout. So this is truly a real little world. * Choosing to do a mission OR training yourself and your pokemon boyfriends uses up a week. Also I feel like the latter is a challenge. I bet if I knew exactly what levels of what I neeeded by specific weeks I could do everything I wanted. I had to skip a lot of missions unfortunately, because I needed skill points to pass Main Story Narrative Objectives. Additionally, I want to play a hyper intelligent and diplomatic character, so I just kept refusing to fail an Intelligence or Etiquette check. And then Combat knowledge seemed to literally be important enough that you stayed ALIVE so in spite of my not caring a wit for being good at fighting, I had to be so to survive. unless there is some other check Im missing for these scenes. anyway. I'm obviously going to try to master this game for a bit. Aurelius was frustrating, challenging, angsty, and had his hot moments. But if I go with Serin, well... May be queen, that would be pretty sweet. He may be boring compared to sharp Aurelius though. I'd also just like to super master the Aurelius route. I don't quite understand what kinda endings there are, but don't want to spoil myself. that's when you know a game is good.

Reminds me of Long Live The Queen. More of a management game, than a VN, but fun, nonetheless.

Insomnia, my old friend Royal AlchemistI guess I had pretty much gotten the correct ending the first time with Aurelius (Ending 3) as nothing much changed with my proactive gaming of the system the second round. The MErchants faction did better, but otherwise everyone's outcomes was word for word the same Only regret is I still fudged up making the Servants Faction Favor by forgetting one of my pokemon leaves on sabbatical due to emotional events towards the end game. Guess I shall move to Serin. Then Nazir after. I hope combat focus isn't so intense a need on these routes, I'd like to see other ways of dealing with the issues. I'm optimistic the writing will be well rounded.

In Civilization 6: So I have been thinking about trying to start a brand new game of this over the last week or so. Afterall if I have a more rough day at work I do like to unwind a little extra with some gaming but since my wife has been taking up the PS4 playing RDR Online of late its been tough getting extra time on the Playstation...and this is about the only game I know which works on my computer..and I suppose I do want to at least try and get through a full game at the end. So it was a bit of an accident that I forgot to turn off the turn limit so I have five hundred turns to get to where I want to get to. . If I survive. . And in perhaps a first in my many PTs with this game I have chosen to NOT be the United States. Being England (which is really funny considering in a couple of months time I will be raiding their cities as a Viking. ) I do think the lesson learned from my first co op PT I ran awhile back which is sitting uncomplete with side wifey that I need to be a lot more aggressive about building settlers and builders Builders can help me with my amenity and housing problem, it seems, and settlers can obviously help me expand my empire and hopefully prevent the problem which helped in the last game. I also need to build traders which I found can be a really helpful way of gaining gold...but my first trader was intercepted by Barbarians...but me and Seoul took out the camp. Already built two cities, London and Birmingham, and nice wonder they were close enough together to have a shared border. I am a bit worried about building alack of military but...so far at least...Birmingham can't build any districts so far so it would be a good place to at least build the support unis for empire expansion and the like. Speaking of which should have a third settler ready to go soon. In Greedfall: So that was intense and I do like it that when this game's combat gets difficult it can start getting fun. I went to both San Mateus and Hikmet to solve their issues and their recent attacks. And it started off as some of the most awkward moments I have run into in this game so far. First off I went to Gov Burhan to let him know what was happening and check in...and he went off on a rather extended cutscene which was essentially divided into three parts as me and him went on about...well a lot of events relating to the Bridge that I have done in this game to this point. So that is why I have spent so little time in Hikmet though in my defence there was no real reason to go to Hikmet, though the game did leave no indication that I should go back and see him. Anyways he was under attack by animals him and his people and well beat them and pushed them back and then went after the natives who were...also under the same pressures. Seems the Nadaig was under some kind of black sickness (hmmm phoray hmm ) and was going crazy leading the local wildlife to attack everything in site...native or no. Similar situation was in San Mateus though this one had to be fought at night initially. I really liked the choke point that was formed in the first area, gave me ample opportunity to set off my poison bomb which had quite the cluster bomb effect at them which helped me considerably when I went in for the kill, everything except for that last wave. After reporting back to Constantin he decided to go off for a walk, de Sardet was a bit off put by this (not that I blame him) and we were able to get into his office...where he mentioned that he was trying to 'experiment' with his connection to the island and also was nervous when some islanders saw him. Off to follow him.

I hope combat focus isn't so intense a need on these routes, I'd like to see other ways of dealing with the issues. I'm optimistic the writing will be well rounded. Good thing, the combat checks seemed to shift to Intelligence checks with some occasional combo of intelligence/charisma checks on Serin's route. Bad thing.... Unless you argue that focusing more on charisma somehow changes your character as a person... Your character's personality reflects off your chosen LI.* So I went from being a cool strategic, occasionally devious, intelligent lady person who was fearsome to be reckoned with to something more stereotypically feminine, gentle, and "lady like". And I didn't like it, I was very bored and kinda uncomfortable with the idea that who I romance causes this character to change to reflect the LI rather than each LI just finding a specif trait to admire regardless of how you act or are trained. *Alternatively, I chose the female appearance but I would find it a bit repugnant if they tied a personality type to the art represented gender, so I think it's just they conform your character to make them match the LI better. And I find that a bit troublesome from the strong roleplay perspective I initially had of the story. I want to be a devious badass no matter who I choose to bang. Also, I got to choose to bang Serin. A sex option didn't exist with Aurelius. And romancing Serin felt like romancing another woman, gotta admit. Next is Nazir, the playboy

Royal AlchemistIt's a tough call who I love the most. Even thought I'd read the story twice before, Nazir the playboy had me laughing and smiling the most. Extra bonus of his knowing about the Rozencraus curse. Because he ends up awakening as one himself. Sneaky writers- that probably happens EVERY route, and they just have it happen off screen. And the romance ending! Alchemist to his Mage, fighting off pirates on the open sea! But I feel like Aurelius needs MC more. He was reclusive and very unlikely to get close to people even before his closest most trusted friend betrayed him. I've seen him grieve that on his route, and I was very sad that there was no way to offer succor for that pain when I was on the other two routes. The ending is satisfying, and the kisses were hotter, but I feel like Aurelius and MS are the default setting of self sacrifice and it takes a toll on how often they even see each other. I almost feel like Sex only being available on Serin's route was to make up for how tame he is. His romance route is a vanilla as one can get. ....ya, Nazir wins. I'll just head canon that I got to become Aurelius' close friend as well. Or even go super crazy and assume we can be poly. I think Aurelius could get behind that arrangement, but despite being a playboy, Nazir comes off as very monogamous. Anyway, I did as much playing as I want over *looks at steam* 20 hours. And I read quickly. So I got $1/hour of entertainment. I'd rank this in my top 3 of visual novels, definitely top 5.

S Hilarious, that happened to me too. I thought I only got all that because I'd had the audacity to consider the distance between cities before making quest/traveling decisions. So I finally arrive and we have just such a loooong catching up as I'd never even met the guy. We'd end one scene on good terms, just to tear into each other over their faction drama 5 seconds later.

Picked back up Witcher 3 Hearts of Stone after 4-1/2 months.
Did the heist job first, and of course it went south almost immediately because either the guy lied or didn't do his homework. I'm thinking the former. Anyway, both brothers died and Geralt looted the vault like a pro (found a Viper School schematic amongst the stash) before picking up what he actually went there to get. Handed it over to Olgierd and also got a little more background on him and how he ended up in his current state. Made a side trip to Crow's Perch to sell off extra equipment picked up from bandits that was weighing him down. Apparently there's no money in outfitting the Redanian army because the armorer in town never has much coin to buy stuff with.
Then it was off to meet Shani outside the von Everec family crypt. First time I played this Geralt immediately noped out of the wedding invite but this time, being completely single, he said, sure, why not?
Shani waited outside while Geralt summoned an entire family of ghosts, eventually getting the one he wanted, Olgierd's younger brother Vlodomir. In order to show him the time of his life, Geralt reluctantly agreed to let Vlodomir borrow his body for the evening. And yay, the wedding just got a whole lot more interesting.
I left off just as Shani was to introduce Geralt/Vlod to the newlyweds. This is one of the "secret" achievements I still need - to participate in all activities at the wedding (Let the Good Times Roll) so I expect I might be here for a while. At least I know how to play gwent now, so hopefully I won't lose my shirt this time.

Last night. baldur's Gate 3 early access. Spent ages creating my character, around 10 seconds after I could start moving her in game she died, burned alive. Shortest 'start of game' to death in a game I've ever had.

This has happened to me on a few occasions "De Sardet you are sus, I hate you, I can't trust you, how coud you acuse me of this!"... "Have a nice day! " In Greedfall: So here I was just thinking to myself 'gee you know maybe I was even being too harsh on this game for giving it a pretty good rating but maybe not that good, I swear this game is the pure addition of a 'bubble game' if ever I saw one. But then my hopes and dreams were crushed...under the boot of a Nadaig heal... So the ending starts off and it actually ends up being a pretty typical RPG ending start...where I have to go recruit all the allies I can to make one final push in defeating the big bad of the game. In this case Constantin has gone full native...erm wait no that's the wrong metaphor...has just gone bat shit insane...ah that's better. But yeah fairly good RPG/ BioWare fare that we have seen a lot but it usually does work off and its a fairly good set up for an ending right up my alley. As a aside I do wonder if any of this game's story was influenced by Heart of Darkness...which I hated the original book and all its spin offs but there is again that theme of being an occupier on an island and then being driven mad from it. And well my efforts were on pins and stressful being this is my first PT and my faction rating was all over the place. Which apparenrly doesen't matter in the end . It was a bit of a bold choice to make Constaintin the ultimate big bad of this story making your relative your ultiamte antagonistic is supposed to be really gut wrenching for the character in question to have to kill their blood...except I don't give much of a crap about Constaintin. This is not Kassandra and Deimos we are talking about which did more to establish the relationship between the siblings starting out as enemies then the entire game of Greedfall with the two of them being friends. Though yes, full disclosure, there was a couple of really touching scenes between the two. Complicating this issue further is the fact that the game is being rather cute on whether or not Constantin was a threat all along or whether or not the bonding made him mad...I would like more clarification on this but I doubt I will get any. And double complication too is it was a bit weird because the Merchant Congregation went down to *hostile* but then checking in the menu it just says *suspicious*...but again there is no consequences for this as I was able to walk through New Serene without any challenge or dialogue and was even able to talk to...De Sardet's old mentor. I was thinking that he could be aggressive to me or I was hoping to get his perspective on the situation...but got neither. And as I said above your relationship with the factions does not matter at all...only whether or not you did all their tasks. I was able to get the Coin Guard to join in the Alliance at 'suspicious' but the Bridge at 'friendly' was a no show, and Burham mentioned he wanted me to do more tasks for him...I declined thinking putting down native rebellions is the last thing on my mind given the circumstances. So he was like 'well I know this is important but I can't trust you with my troops'. And I am like, knowing the Bridge, bitch I don't trust you guys much either...they'd probably betray me to Constantin. Which brings me to the combat. Again the combat is probably one of the high points of the game and is something that I look forward to and I know I could be better at it but it was fairly competent overall. Just that A. its a little unresponsive/ not 'fluid', and B...there are way too many Nadaig boss fights in this game. Especially towards the end. I was approaching one area with a Nadaig or at least I suspected one was up ahead and I heard boss music and I just deflated...it killed me four times and right back down to easy the game went. As an aside while it may be a backhanded complement but this game does seem to do difficulty increases the 'right' way too. Easy to Normal didn't result in any less or more health really and the Nadaig still hit pretty hard (though maybe a little less) but the main thing about it is one of competence, the Nadaig was acting a lot more slow and sluggish coming after me.

The Bridge Alliance quest line is rather important from the story perspective (does not change the outcome, but gives some insight). Also the firearms-focused build can bring down any boss in seconds on Extreme (the "Very Hard" difficulty). Tested it at the Coin Guard Arena (spoilers for the final boss of the arena).

The Heiress of SorceryI paid $10 for this but only 4.5 hours of reading time out of it. I really like the sound effects, like impressed as compared to other novels that cost me more. I really really like the art. I had read some discussions about how Visual Novels will tank on the art alone. an example of a VN that hardly sold at all, only for it to toss it's character designs in the garbage, bring up some hotter more cartoony/anime style options, and then it sell acceptably well. All the mechanics and story had stayed exactly the same. But then I was like...but I don't want all of my digital boyfriends to look like a 17-22 year old/slender/young japanese/korean man like ALL the time. Or just bright colored and/or emo appearing with sharp chins and no realistic appearance flaws at all. That can't be the only thing people want. Not that I'm saying this game breaks the mold of not making all it's characters HOT but it isn't a japanese/korean anime style, and I appreciated that. Anyway, the story had a strong start and middle only for it to reach climax and suddenly end. I honestly thought the bad guy was going to make a last minute get away, there'd be a training montage story, and then we'd really beat them. But no. WE just beat him. They made terms and had a good idea of how their little magical world worked, but they weren't like making an amazing lore filled world either. My first playthrough, I didn't romance anyone, because honestly, it felt too out of logic to be trying to flirt with people during such a stressful time. "Oh no, another sorceress is in town, and they saw me. My entire life, if there was ever a chance that I'd be found out for my magic, we'd flee the town on the spot and move on to the next place.... but sure. Let's loiter next to this fountain and talk about our normal concerns for a moment and then finish the shopping trip!" Then if you won at romance, you got an epilogue romance scene to click through. There were three romance options. A brother/sister pair you could pick one of, people of whom the protagonist had known for a few years. And then Mr Emo Mage. Didn't try the lady, appreciated the cuteness that was the brother even if he had a few cringey macho moments. But MR Emo Mage was problematic. 100+ years old and he used to be obsessed with your grandma on a romantic level. She didn't return the feelings, and ran off and he never saw her again. He has carried this torch an additional 30 years or more since he last saw the woman. And when you have your first kiss with this man, he moans your grandmother's name. Surely just to mock anyone that would continue such a romance, they then have protaganist kinda take on an obsessed attraction for Mr Emo where she has pathetic thoughts like if it would get him to be near her again, she'd accept an incorrect name or two. IF you ignore all that weirdness, then you have to deal with his Lots of Tsun, very little dere, Tsundere coldness. So I don't regret the $10, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it as being especially narratively unique.

Hawke So I looked at Red Embrace Hollywood and one of the complaints said there were no happy endings and sometimes you ended up with someone you'd hardly had any interest in? what's your thoughts on that? Hustle Cat: I usually prefer one hour of content/reading for every $1 I spend. It's currently $20 and it says you read it in 7. Was that a single playthrough? Loren: The Amazon Princess: looks like more clicking on a laptop than I am willing to make with my hand issues. it says partial controller support, but don't know what that means in regards to this game. Cna you give me some feedback? Right now, I have "My Vow to my Liege" in my cart. I think the only reason I haven't bought it is I'm feeling a bit burnt out on anime looking characters and heavy hints of asian culture being used as a backdrop. It trends to give Love Interests that cater to the fanbase from the country it's mimicking, which usually involves men telling my character what to do. I'm downloading a demo for Akash, path of the five

Dungeons and Dragons Via Fantasy Grounds and Discord is a game! So, we're playing an adventure called The Curse of Straud.
I am playing a level 5 Sorceress Drow, Shri of House Pharm, who's committed herself to the teachings of Ellistrea after escaping the Underdark. She is an absolute hedonist who left the Underdark because it was honestly too much work to scheme and distrust everyone around her. She comes to the surface, has a short passionate relationship with another elven woman, and with as much passion as she can muster, she heads out to earn money to donate to the cause of freeing other draw from the underdark.
She encounters a traveling band that asks her to help them get rid of someone who has troubled their lands. She must speak to MAdam Ava, however, for for details. After asking if this paid in gold, she agreed. Only to wake up in another place. Unfamiliar lands, surrounded by deadly fog.
She is immediately grumpy. This is not what she agreed to. This sort of surreal experience is one of many reasons she left the Under Dark. She is much agreived, and trudges forward to find those responsible so she can go home, a much higher priority that making money for The Cause of Drow Freedom at this point. Immediately, she overhears people conversating. She hides, listening in, only to realize that there are others in her same predicament. Except she knows more- and can allude to knowing more. She strides forward, telling them they are all fools. They are in this land because of a trick, and they must go forth to Madam Ava. The runty gnome dares to question her. But instead of incinerating him on the spot, she thinks of Ellistrae and simply leaves the party rather than let him to continue to badger her with questions she doesn't know the answer to (even though they think she has them). The gnome casts a grease spell and causes her haughty ass to get knocked flat. This becomes par for the course between them.
Eventually she grows to tolerate the Dwarf, ignores the Bard and the Cleric. And her relationship with the gnome only grows worse when they duel and she loses. She swears that she will make an exception in her anti murder policy once she has used the creature to escape this magical land.
She lightens her mood by seducing a married couple for a night of fun. They're cute, and she may use them again in the future to blow off steam. In a much better mood, they investigate the next day only to find the following scenario. The fiance of Straud, a human flesh golem, is to be married to her groom in a month. They need a dress to befit such an occasion.
A gleam of opportunity glints in Shri's eyes. If they get the dress, they get invited. Once invited, Straud will be destroyed. Problem solved, they will return home, and she can be free of this wretched party. however, the local seamstress can not make a good enough dress in a month. They need to find some other grand wedding dress that someone has already used. The dress will be refurbished into a new wedding dress. But we need to get this dress. We go to talk to the Burgermeister only for there to be some sort of vampire bat attack on the people holding a fair. The burgermeister makes off on his horse.
Crap, there goes her ticket to the dress. Her ticket to getting out of this forsaken land. She makes chase. She shortly arrives at the Burgermeiter's home, only to see it surrounded by guards. What does she do? Does she wait for the rest of her party, the party she just abandoned to the bats? Does she attempt to be charismatic and explain her needs like a civilized person to the surely understanding guards outside?
No. She casts Crown of Madness upon one of the Guards. He proceeds to nat 20 his spear into the gut of the Burgermeister's personal body guard. The other guards try to wrestle him off, and the yet more guards around the mansion come out to see the commotion. She sees her chance, and makes her way through a side window into a back room. It looks like the room where the guards sleep, and there are a few candles lighting. She edges out into the hallway and notes that there is dry kindling everywhere. Also, it seems there is a maid in the front foyer. What can she do?
She briefly considers sneaking up on the girl, knocking her out, stuffing her body somewhere and then using Alter Self to assume the Maid's form. but that will take time. She reconsiders the kindling on the hallway floor. Hmmm. What will people be more interested in? Stopping an intruder who can teleport? or putting out the flames that may burn the very mansion down around their ears? So she uses the rest of her action to walk down the hallway confidently while throwing a few candles into the kindling as she makes her way. Calmly, as the fire catches in the twigs, she walks up the stairs to the second floor.
She reaches the first room. A boring library. She abandons it. She encounters a locked door. Seizing on the idea that the wedding dress may be inside, she uses acid to destroy the lock and excitedly goes inside-- only to find a beleagured man chained to the wall, obviously having been tortured. Shri is disappointed as the man begs for her life. She almost turns to leave altogether when the man begs her to set him free. She counters that unless he can tell her where the wife would keep the wedding dress, she has no interest. He promises the information. She acid splashes the wall holding his chains, and he tells her that the bedroom on the left has something inside which the Burgermeister prizes.
Turning on her heel, ignoring him from then on, she barged into the room. His half naked body streaks by behind her on his flight outside the home of his unhappiness. The room she opens is covered in so many many creepy dolls. After ransacking the room for the dress, she takes a doll, a diary, and wine bottle just in case they are relevant clues. Then sets the room on fire.
Creepy ass dolls gotta go, all I'm saying. And she still doesn't have the wedding dress. She swiftly moves on to the next rooms- a bathroom. Next. EUREKA. The wedding dress. She stuffs it in her pack, and turns around to open a door. IT's time to find a window and make her escape, before the distractions she created with fire take her down with them.
AS she enters the master bedroom, however, curiosity gets the best of her. There is a trap door in the ceiling. She briefly glances at her window to freedom, then decides that she has a bit of time to satisfy her nosiness. She climbs up and finds a room full of junk. She sighs, thinking. There is a door at the other end but there is also at least two fires below her that she knows of. Still.... okay, she makes a dash for the door. It has warning signs all over it, which may have put her off, but there is a man in the room chanting. Ugh. He will surely perish in the flames if she doesn't warn him, and Ellistrae will not be pleased. She knocks, yelling through the door to warn him that there is fire below.
He tells her to go away.
How rude. He will NOT die on her watch, stupid stupid man. She casts thunder wave to break down the door. Lots of things explode, and she loses 60% of her hit points. SEVERELY TICKED OFF, she yells at the man and his weird dolls and skelton cats and INSISTS that he leave at once for his own safety. Doesn't he smell the smoke? she certainly does.
He sets his cats on her. They crowd round her, and attempt to scratch her. How DARE he. She was trying to HELP HIM, and this is what he does?
She steps back ten feet and casts FIRE BALL into the room.
The back wall is blown completely out and through the flames and smoke, she can see some daylight. The skeleton cats are nowhere to be seen, and the corpse of the rude man lays scorched upon what remains of the floor.
That taken care off, she makes haste across the increasingly warm wooden floor of the junk room. Making it to a window, she casts MAgic Step to teleport to the ground below outside.
Taking a quick glance round, the guards of the mansion are more consumed with watching the mansion burn in horrified awe than in watching for intruders. There is nothing left to intrude on anyway.
Excellent. She has the dress. Goal Achieved.

Well this is going to be an incredibly weird series of posts In Civ 6: Continuing on with my England playthrough FTM. I don't remember if I mentioned but I chose the 'Small Continents' map type for this round given Britain's naval dominance and perks and also given...well I guess I wanted to change things up. Of course calling this a 'continent' might be a bit much but on the bright side at least for the moment I am all alone...and I figure I need 2 more settlers I think? in order to secure it for myself and make the island fully *mine*. I am up to 4 cities and I am impatiently trying to expand I think I got one more settler building. The good news is this civ seems to be going pretty good over all. I have slowly started to build a military up as well and London is working on a Royal Navy Dockyard. My economy is booming learning the lesson from the last PT I am right now making around 50 gold a turn, which I do deem to be pretty huge right now based on the trade routes I have established. Basically I have the ability to buy a lot and basically every time I need one or they complain I buy a builder, I just hope this does not screw me out of districts long term but...if I get the diplomacy right...this is giving me plenty to offer other nations in trade goods too which they are offering me more gold and so far I seem to be doing a better job keeping my people happy. But its just...hard to keep track of everything in this game. Long term I want to try and get off my island/ continent with ships and people. I have not explored oter islands but my 'allies' (I am assuming Seoul) has been out exploring so I have found a few other islands and continents which look just as unihabited and some of them seem to have villages on them which would always be nice to get to. So I have to experiment with disembarking land units and maybe even getting settlers out there. The bad news is somehow I have really found a way to fall behind Brazil in tech. I am at least keeping pace with everyone else but falling behind anyone in tech, especially Brazil which I have a bad ju ju feeling on, and me not having a lot of military ftm does not strike me as a good thing. Fortunatley I suspect I am good given that this is still fairly early for major military by boat...unless I miss my guess. In Greedfall: So I finished the game. And as always a bit tempted to review it but is it worth it where should I post it...etc, etc, etc, and I suppose this post will count as a micro review because... BOY IS THIS GAME BI POLAR. I mean this does tend to happen a lot in games where one aspect of the game is really weak and another is strong where games often can feel like you are playing two (or more) different games. But this game takes it to even a very high level. So I defeated the other Nadaig guardian and gathered all my companions for one more rousing speech/ final conversation with them before the final battle...and from there it was off to the heart of the island to go meet with our allies and stuff. Which this part of the game was very praise worthy because despite the game not seeming that big it was still big enough to get in multiple combat sections where you go talk with all your allies. And interestingly enough your companions keep peeling off to go be with their people which was actually a really neat touch though I was kind of dreading the boss battle at the top but I still thought it was a neat sequence whose intention was obvious. Anyways we met the 'Nadaig baro', me and my wife made the same joke, I defeated it, and then off to the end game sequence where Constantin offers you one final choice to join with him and become a new god, or obviously kill him. Obviously I did the latter, De Sardet acts like he will hug in a powerful moment, stabs him instead...wait I am now getting Deja Vu...and then lays down with him... And that's how the game ends. Now I don't want to use the word 'cliffhanger' since it does not qualify but this may be the biggest non cliffhanger cliffhanger in history because there is usually a denouncement in story's after a climax. Stories don't usually end on the climax. Now the end game slides makes it very clear that they did because it mentioned with each of the end slides (another nice touch) that the companions all came back together with their friends...though now as I type this I am starting to doubt because they didn't actually mention 'De Sardet'...but yeah either way the last image I actually see of your hero is him lying next to his dead cousin. And that is the game's ending. Ugh. On the bright side though from a meta standpoint this game actually did end pretty good. I kind of wish there was more set up for it (unless I missed something) but it was an interesting Kylo Ren esque motivatio at the end where Constantin was hoping to tear everything 'old' down so he could start again, even referencing the machinations of his father the Prince again...but as en on mil frictoman pointed out, and I believe, such desire is a part of that old world thinking which got everyone into trouble in the first place. Which now I kind of wish I got to meet the Prince even more...such dragging down in the mud of a character we never actually get to meet. In the end though there was at least an attempt at nuance. Not everyone from the continent was evil and not everyone from the natives was good, though I am still a bit suspicious at just how horrible the Bridge Alliance was, but maybe that was on me for not trying to get to know them better. The Mechant Congregation being the ultimate bad guys in the story could be interpreted as a 'money is the root of all evil' message but then Constaintin's motivation in the end wasn't monetary...hell it wasn't even material at the end like Avatar. Another thing I forgot to mention, I think, through this is despite its issues De Sardet was really fun to play. I did enjoy the fresh perspective of being a diplomat for a change which was a really unique way to play a game and it really permeated all of De Sardet's adventures and activities on the island, this one central tennat. And Jamie Blackley did do a good job voicing him too. In the end if for whatever else I am fairly confident in my giving it a Tier 3 rating. I would even go so far to say that it was better then I thought it was going to be and, well its right around the place I would put HZD in my rankings of games for where it counts. In Madden: So yeah while I was waiting for an expected patch in my next story game I wanted to play to install I decided to play one game of Madden, which turned into two, which turned into two more this morning. Nothing really to report its just I am not sure if I ever mentioned how exhilerating it is when you are looking at a reciever pre snap that you want to get the ball to but he looks covered but then one of the guys covering him blitzes instead of dropping back which leaves your reciever wide open, but you have to get the ball out quickly or otherwise your QB is mincemeat. So other factoids: - Finally getting Ryder more involved in the passing game, he was really lagging behind whic stinks with like 2 TDs but now he is pushing like ten of them and has now over 20 receptions. Part of the reason Gronk has actually been fully healthy and of course my other star recievers has made his targets a little scarce...and well my star other players. -After taking a couple games off Evans finally got back into the performance with 8 catches for 184 yards and a touchdown. He now has over 1000 yards on the season which was an important milestone. Edelman was hurt in that game which 'helped'. -Cooks and Edelman are also both over 1000 yards receiving. -Nice having Michel healthy, he is up to over 1000 yards rushing and 19 rushing TDs and like 4 recieving.

Well, I failed to do all the required tasks at the wedding (I looked up a list so I might go back and try again later; apparently just doing everything lit up with a marker isn't enough). After beating Olgierd at gwent I moved on to the final task. This is the only one of the three that feels like real witchering. I got annoyed while fighting the wraith that keeps healing itself inside the manor. Will pick it up again later when I'm less irritated. Some of these enemies are awful tough for playing on easy mode, supposedly. I should be doing massive damage with each hit but I'm barely doing any.

I'm downloading a demo for Akash, path of the five Okay, so that's a definite buy. I've never lost some sleep to try out all the paths of a demo before. 1. Lux (Light Elemental), the childhood friend and history buff who's never treated you weird for being the first female elemental in 200 years. He can't even insult a fly, he's dependable, he's not racist against humans. He's not very much physically my type, but he's an obvious fit out of all the choices for her to pick as a mate if we're honest here about romantice narratives that make sense. He empathizes with the creepiness coming your way, but that jumps into a spiel about how important your mateability is to the village and I about rolled by eyes. Don't play both fields, buddy. Creeps are creeps. 2. Ignatious (Fire Elemental), who was your friend, then you got your gender at age 10, and he got weird about the fact that you weren't a boy like him. He has a bit of a temper but he's shy with you, so I thought I'd like him. But he's like, angry racist against the humans, and I don't like that vibe. He agrees with you that all the sudden interest in your becoming mating age is super annoying, which I did like. He didn't defend it one ounce. 3. Caspian (Water Elemental), the logical vulcan who's always kept distance from everyone, because apparently he hails from a village of horrible people. He's not racist against humans per se, because he doesn't seem to trust anyone, so it's hard to tell. Mostly he warns you that everyone will be trying to get in your good graces because of the mating thing, so choose your partner wisely. If anything, simply for safety purposes. I appreciated this logical approach, honestly. Probably the only redeeming thing about the guy. 4. Rowan (Earth Elemental), the empty headed jock who nonetheless is holding out for a monogamous elemental woman some day. He's mildly racist against humans in a way that he's never really thought about them. And you have to spell out why people treating you like a side of beef is uncomfortable. He finally gets it, and apologizes. I liked that he was suitably responsive to a reprimand without turning into a jerk about me snapping at him. His appearance, and his "dream sequence" was the most pleasant to me. I just wish he wasn't as dumb as the Rock they're associating him with. 5. Rocco (Wind elemental) the play boy (who boasts of sleeping with at least 4 human women so far, don't know if he's just making crap up). I got to smack him for being such a creep jerk at the start. which was SO NICE, because most of these games let these guys sexually harass you and get away with it. Still, his banter later did give me some amusement (I like to argue with potential boy toys in video games and life, I know I'm weird.) He didn't hold it against me (the slapping) but his teaching sequence later was very well done. He was mature, and didn't try to sexually harass me while being simultaneously supportive. It was surprising regarding his character, I guess they had to write him as somewhat redeemable. The Wind Training session made me wonder if I could choose to evolve into a Wind elemental (she's currently not any particular element) without dating him. because then she could fly! woo hoo! I'm not usually into bothering to listen to the Voice Acted lines (passable voice acting, but I read faster than they can speak and it irritates me). But this game, the voices chosen were good and soothing. The acting was above average. So ya, I'm buying that. Even if I don't end up loving where the story goes, I feel like they put a lot of good work into the World Building, the choice in voice actors, and the choice in art. gonna support that shiz natch.

the end game sequence where Constantin offers you one final choice to join with him and become a new god, or obviously kill him. Obviously I did the latter, *sigh* nailed it. Am I honestly the only one on this board that loved Constantine, and didn't care TOO hard that choosing him pretty much causes everyone but Native girl and Vasco to die? Petrus was a creep who eroticizes your trapped kidnapped mother (without ever trying to actually free her), Soldier man was super okay with doing cruel things to people, we had to yank NAtive Girl off a man like she was a rabid mindless animal. Bridge girl could probably be talked into testing on Natives with enough pressure of Logic and Charisma. I found the "Constantine dies and everyone can be happy now" so unbelievable and cheap. They didn't even mention how emotionally scarred De Sardet would be by default from the cold blooded murder of their own beloved cousin. The slides act like they just picked themselves up off the ground and moved on with their lives as if it had just been another diplomatic mission. It's horrible.

The slides act like they just picked themselves up off the ground and moved on with their lives as if it had just been another diplomatic mission. It's horrible. So this was a 'goody two shoes' ending to you and I see you meant the deragatory nature of the term too? I mean I am really glad I did not chose this ending then given the consequences though the consequences were easy to project. But aside from the companion morality this was obviously the more horrible risky choice to make in my mind. 1. I wouldn't call what De Sardet did to Constaintin cold blooded murder. Consantin was already engaging in attacks against the other nations and islanders, entirely unrpoved, whick resulted in the death of numerous people. With the ritual itself the life of a lot of people were at stake (not to mention a god) made this a perfect act of self defense. Even if I did perfectly like the character and thought the two of them in character would have a great relationship I would still be inclined to pull the trigger. Call him falling to darkness, call him falling to madness, call him giving into darkness, say he was no longer my cousin but a twisted amalgmation of some dark and malovolent force...either way in that instance he had to die. (though yes it would've been nice to have the option to redeam him with a charisma check but alas). I mean I loved Daenarys Stormborn for eight seasons and she was probably my second choice to sit the Iron Throne but she went mad and Jon was right to stick her with the pointy end. 2. We have no idea the consequences of replacing en on mil frictoman as the God of the island to the balance of the island. Given the brief example of what you have mentioned had I chosen the other option it can't be anything good. Constaintin is likely either too mad or too naive to truly appreciate what becoming a god would mean even if he had the power to be one it was clear he did not have the maturity. Plus he also promised to spread his god hood to the continent which would be...bad. 3. And there goes the cure to the Malichor. Given the situation and how Constantin was spreading his sickness to others and given the game makes quite clear (and based on events I think this is quite logical assumtion) that the Malichor would continue to spread and continue to kill. Granted we do not know too much about the lethality of the virus but given everything that was going on I get the distinct impression that...well the population of both Teer Fradee and the Continent was about to take a serious nose dive. I mean its my personal opinion that he did not so much get his Malichor cured but was simply able to become immune to it, a carrier and his connection to the island allowed him to taint the island and let it spread. 4. The ending slides were perfectly ambigious, enough so where I again am not actually 100% De Sardet surivived. ...yes I can imagine that he would be quite emotionally scared even with all the meetings but the rest is up to the players imagination of what de Sardet did. As for me personally. I am always uncomfortable with assuming that level of power over anything. I was uncomfortable enough with the judgements in DAI for that matter well enough...but to become co god with a madman to enforce his solution on everyone probably killing a lot of people in the process? Hell to the no. I did not know enough about the situation to suggest that Constantin would ever find his balance again and...as I pointed out...he was already responsible for murder, war, and terrorism all in an effort to gain said power with the prmise to continue to do it. Unfortunatley he had to die.

colfoleyI used the phrase on the ending and not the person. As you well know, I rarely attack anyone personally that isn't a troll like "almost 10 cloud" and "supreme jizz". I didn't find the "good ending" ambiguous at all. Did you not romance someone? Both endings get slides. The fashioning yourself into a God ending implied initial blood shed from the power change, as any revolution might. I can't remember how the slides depicted the mainland, but forcing them to change or die made.better sense then "and then they all changed their immoral ways and became one with the earth, kumbaya". Yes, people in your party were against the change, and yes they died in a battle against you they voluntarily joined and accepted the risk of. Never suspected Kurt would be that hardcore about it considering he can literally die from betraying you during the Coup. Reload, on easy, whack the nadaig and try out the ending yourself, or look it up on YouTube. I tried the good ending after feeling terrible about Constantine for 10 minutes, only to increasingly hate every slide that came up on the screen. I reloaded, killed the nadaig again, and chose to embrace Constantine's new ways. I wasn't disappointed- it was more realistic and reflected me character better. And MY character was on good terms with Every Faction and I had the Diplomatic older dude as King of the natives and everything. My de sardet got all of the "good slides" on the "good ending" they just painted an outcome devoid of any emotion and happiness for Sardet.
