Wasn't feeling it for AC Odyssey last night, so went back into Control to tidy up - some of - the remnants of the Hiss from the Oldest House.
That involved, in no particular order; chasing possessed letters from crazy people, chasing a flamingo that turned into a giant worm thing (again), a couple of low effort, clear from blockage and cleanse items followed by closing down a Catholic mannequin and taking care of a set of traffic lights that can only see you if you move while it shows red.
Also conducted a therapy session for a train.

In Civ 6:
Finally got back to my game and things might still be coming along. Though I do wonder how much faster things will go with no turn limit or with the whole online thing which I might have to experiment more with later. Though I actually really like the small continents thing, I gotta real fortress britanica going and I have also expanded to my fourth island...well fifth but that is also a bit of a long story.
And well that long story is that after centuries of intermittent warfare I was finally able to build up my naval and military forces to the point where I felt comfortable invading the Aztec 'mainland'. Of course though I did have to consider a small pivot as now both CHINA AND SCYTHIA HAS DECLARED WAR ON ME. It was most annoying...and also funny given that Scythia is still in the medieval age and I just entered the Industrial age, so she is probably the next country I will go after...their leader is a she. Now some major developments have been happening in my game. First off I found it very amusing that crossbowman upgrade to...Field Cannons. And Pikemen somehow do not upgrade to Musketmen and Musketmen do not upgrade to Red Coats. Also given that I discovered Coal...and think Is somehow have access to it?...I can now repair my one ironclad that I got which actually ended up being a lot more significant development to the war effort then I thought...see in this game somehow Ironclads are 'naval melee' which means they can attack Costal cities...which means that they can also go into and take and occupy costal cities. I used this tactic to capture two Aztec cities (including their capital). Of course I also prefer the 'use artilery to soften them up' approach too. The only maddening thing is that despite never declaring a war, despite being attacked for turns upon turns and centuries...now that I finally cobbled together an offensive effort now that I am taking cities and stuff everyone is denouncing me as the warmonger...ah Civilization AI diplomacy. I don't even think Rome is amused by this either which is annoying considering I had an Alliance with them. (Though they are happy I am expanding my Empire)
Other than that things are going good. I think I am getting up their in both tech and civics to where I am producing a lot of lot of science, culture, and gold. I have expanded to another large island, large enough to where I think it can fit three cities on it even. So that is good. But yet Rome has developed Flight somehow *gulp*.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. I reached Alabastra, the last large area of the main game. It looks nice (aurora borealis and walls of ice), the pacing is good and for some reason (a skill or an item or a Twist of Fate I did not notice) coins drop when hit opponents. So far so good. Screenshots:

So, I'm playing Civ VI again. This time I'm playing on a custom map of my own design. I may have given myself a few small advantages, but I'll never tell. But it's more to see how the AI reacts to different starting positions. That, and I'm sick of getting floodplains that can't support dams, barbarians swarming my capital (again), and losing out on building the Golden Gate Bridge AGAIN (I'm looking at you Australia). So, It's me ( America), England, China, and Japan. So I'm dealing with "Let me in, LET ME IN!!!" (England), The Wonder-obsessed deal-breaker (China), and the best friend who REALLY likes knives (Japan). This oughta be different. I start out great, with plenty of wheat and stone for food and production, and I have three cities by turn 20. I'm happy with that, and I've got my eye on some empty land on the other side of the continent as well as a neighboring island. Strangely enough, England and Japan are actually getting along this time (maybe to do with China stuck between them?), so I'm able to focus on Ian from Barbar with all their red-n-black outfits. Because they're everywhere now. It's like they're only spawning out of Mt. Everest. Boston is taking the worst of it; it's been burning for decades now. Philadelphia is fine, New York is flooded again, but that's because the dam isn't finished. *****SEVERAL CENTURIES LATER***** Amazingly enough, no war has been declared, and it's now 1950 AD. I have nuclear plants in Chicago and Washington, so I have enough power for my entire civilization. Unfortunately, it seems the nuclear plant in Chicago took way too much inspiration from Chernobyl, and underwent a nuclear meltdown in 3 turns. Then a Category-5 hurricane hit. Then a drought. Then a blizzard. Consecutively. In grassland. So basically, my entire west coast is destroyed, Boston is STILL burning, citrus has been banned, and now China is asking for all my amenities. In Philadelphia, my Spaceport is now up and running, so I'm able to launch a satellite and a Moon Landing, so that's nice. And then I find out that the Golden Gate Bridge has been constructed in Bristol. I was genuinely building it in San Francisco, so it would have been poetic, but apparently the weather turning on me wasn't enough. As I think I'm finding some solace in a completely pristine island chock-full of good stuff, my Settler runs into three Nuclear Submarines, all barbarians. Who the heck is funding these guys? I'm prepared to take a steep dive on the global stage, only for the World Congress to declare me World Leader through diplomatic overtures. So I win, technically. As the meme goes: "Everything is fine"

An odd day. I am currently involved in three games:
1. Fantasy General II's new Empire Campaign, for which I waited for a long time. Ran the first mission. 2. The Outer Worlds, for which I waited for a long time. Just past intro and character creation. 3. Heaven's Vault, which I find surprisingly fascinating. Currently on an NG+ run, expecting to finish in another 12 hours of playtime or so.

But I have saves on both NFS Payback and Heat and I still have a DAI playthrough t ofinish as well. Thinking I might want to finish DAI befoer I start my next ME run though. After I finish the ME run I suspec tI'lltry and play the PC versions of HZD and the Halo MCC as hopefully Halo 4 should be out by then.

Akash: Path of the Five After working on my med school essay, I was like, time for some relaxing. I like Rocco's voice actor, and I've been re listening to all his lines throughout most of this play through. With the lens of a now fan, some of his lines aren't as bad as I initially thought they were. Some. His lines when it comes to the Magic training scene were heavy on the side of "roll my eyes and go away perv". I experimented to see if the game let me do the Seducing of the guard to escape vs the challenge to Rocco do it himself. I definitely prefer the version where Rocco does it, it is downright delightful and perhaps has my favorite line from him. "I'd die for you, you know... kissing this guy is nothing next to that." Heart flutter~ ~Flutter~ Only managed half an hour, time for bed.

uhhhh, I've been absorbed with Nioh 2 mainly, their 2nd DLC came out and I've ended up really enjoying using the fist (gauntlets/clawed gauntlets) weapon and it's fun seeing that they reused some animations from Dead Or Alive (pretty sure it's moves from Kokoro, Jann Lee, and Helena). I've made too many characters in it but my main one is using the Odachi, and trying to get unlocks with her (also have a character for Fists, Spear, Tonfas, and Katana). Also going through NG+ in Ghost of Tsushima. I tried going through on Hard+ difficulty but the enemies being more aggressive got me killed quite a bit (especially in duels) .

Been really enjoying seeing the new update for the Hearts of Iron IV mod 'Old World Blues'... but since I don't have any HOI4 DLC; nor do I have a spare $100+ kicking around in my bank account to get everything; I redownloaded Fallout 76 instead. I haven't played since well before the Wastlanders update and I have to say that the game is much improved since I last played it. The NPCs finally make it feel like a Fallout game again, and the other players, while present, aren't nearly as overwhelming/immersion breaking as they are on Elder Scrolls: Online. Honestly, I kinda like the 'MMO-lite' vibe 76 has. There's (now) a good amount of single player content to get lost in and, unlike previous titles of this series, I am thankful for the option of inviting my friends to play along if I so choose. Just finished a series of quests last night that got my first NPC companion back at my camp. Granted the companions in 76 are a bit more watered down than in Fallout 3 or 4, but it's still a massive improvement. Right now I'm trying to grind through the Order of of the Tadpole missions so I can get access to the Pioneer Scout's backpack plans because more carry weight is like gold in this game. I am still low-key disappointed that 76 doesn't let players create robot, ghoul, or super mutant characters (I mean with a game this open why not?) but thanks to a surplus of Atom currency on my account, a Halloween inspired costume, selective use of perks, as well as considerable head cannon, I can at least pretend to be a ghoul now. The game is not perfect, obviously, but it is miles ahead of where it was at launch, at least in my opinion.

Took me a few hours to get into Ghost of Tsushima but I've started to really enjoy it. Normally in these types of games I split my time between action and stealth but here I've just been running around challenging Mongols Samurai style. Stories kinda blah so far, so I changed audio to Japanese to at least get a more authentic feeling. I do prefer the Japanese VA for the player character. I died a lot early on as I was trying to button mash like it was TW3 or something, turns out you need to be a little more in control, plus movement is key.
The PS4 controller has a touch pad on it, it basically never got utilized by developers mainly because of there not being an Xbox equivalent. But this being an exclusive, the touch pad is used quite a bit. You are supposed to swipe it for various tasks, but I couldn't figure it out at all, eventually I realized that a very light touch was needed. I was pushing too hard and triggering something else. Its working great now, but goddamn was I annoyed! Haha.

Finished Hearts of Stone - yay! - and now ready to start Blood & Wine
I went back to the wedding party to do the one thing I missed (barn loft, sitting on the pillows) to get that achievement, then got another one I needed by fighting all of Iris' fears at once (pretty easy on easy mode). Outsmarted Master Mirror to save Olgierd. Had to do it twice because the first time I died, not by losing the game but by falling into a hole. Hello, Valeska's Watch all over again (still not as embarrassing as dying in a campfire in W2). This actually worked out better for me since I found the Viper sword the second time.
The rest of the achievements I don't have are combat ones, except for all Places of Power at once. I'm not sure I have the patience (or coordination) to do those but we'll see.
You only need the Places of Power for one area. White Orchard being the easiest, I tkink there is maybe four. The crossbow achievement can be a pain, finding low level enemies helps though. The other combat ones aren't as bad. The Kaer Morhen trained one makes me laugh because its super easy to get when training at Kaer Morhen with Vesemir during the prologue. Who'd a thought? LOL. Otherwise its a pain.

It is a fun gam ethough because despite the occasiona lframe rate issues and crashing I've found the gameplay story and everything else fun.

Akash: Path of the Five
Finished replaying Sirocco the Wind Elemental. Hearing him propose was great, playing the route with all the information about his character was satisfying. I like how family drama his epilogue story is, maybe that's why I can appreciate why he does the things he does. A bit of bravado to cover the flaws. *huggles him*
I'm done playing the game for now, but I have a feeling I'll come back to this one. The music and art and 3D movement are just too good not to revisit later. I spent 17 hours on it total.
In other news, the author of "The Heiress of Sorcery" died of Coronavirus. It's a bit of a shock- I had JUST read her story, released in August of this year, just last week. I hadn't liked some of it but I'd kinda flagged her as someone I would buy from again, because the seed of a really good writer was there. Now she's gone- no future games from this person. *shakes head* I don't even know where the money would go, maybe to a son/daughter, or her parents, but I bought her other works.

In Civ 6: The war with the Aztecs are finally over. And well they did survive at least somewhat though their civilization is pretty much in ruins...I hope. I pretty much got all the big things I needed to and wanted to out of the way, tested out all my military advantages and units and well...I just hope they don't rise up in a few years to lay waste to my civilization in the future. Also...I got Battleships! I have the tech now to build those Queens of the Sea so now the British Navy is off to go conquer Carthage and I have already putting my navy off their coast...probably about two turns...this is going to be fun. And then off to Scythia probably.

Today I made another attempt at playing Sims 4 and decided to make a preppy looking pink loving girl who wants to learn about vampires So naturally I had her move into vampire central, chat up the cute vampire dude and get to know him a bit better so he can teach her about vampire stuff
turns out said cutie doesn't know squat about being a vampire, so tried talking to his fellow vampire and sister who didn't know anything either, but hey...nice to have another friend a few days later and money started to run out so I had my sim use her initial creative skills and had her become a painter as her job.
However, low and behold a week later vampire cutie decides to drop by in a flirty mood, chats up my sim who also gets into a flirty mood which was enough to get their relationship up to ask him to turn her into a vampire. So now she's 'sick' with vampirism and I gotta wait for it to take effect
As a plus, vampires have some really nice skills and such, and for each skill you pick you also need to pick a weakness so as not to get overpowered
I'm usually not a big vampire fan, but at least the Sim ones don't drink blood...well, they can but most life of a plant called plasma fruit...ah well, it should be fun
-- Edit: oh dear...apparently the head vampire has decided to pay a visit to my (currently sleeping) sim ...to...suck my blood apparently, which may or may not make sense since the vampire cutie and head vampire dude have some sort of rivalry as I understand, still very rude though

LadyofNemesis No neck is safe from Straud's hungry fangs. Not even a vampire one. Can't remember a sim I've made who hasn't either got a visit from him or a text about how nice their necks look. Which is flattering. But no. Stop. Please. There is work in the morning and my sims need their plasma.

I read it as Stroud and now I can't stop thinking about vampire with crazy mustache It would be an improvement for sure. Personally I keep remembering it as Strauss, like the one from Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines. Again, an improvement. At least he doesn't kick down the trashcans. Though he might light them on fire...

There is work in the morning and my sims need their plasma. yeah...I decided that at least vampirism itself isn't for my Sim, so I remade her to be a spell-caster instead...less dangerous that way, which will still mean getting visits from ol' Vlad, but at least my own sim won't have to suffer from constant hunger (maybe some sleep deprivation but I can deal with that) No neck is safe from Straud's hungry fangs. Not even a vampire one. I read it as Stroud and now I can't stop thinking about vampire with crazy mustache actually...he does have a crazy mustache and naturally fandom wants to make him hotter and younger
