Watched game play for AC: Valhalla. I found the singing scene cringe and the rap battles silly but the cinematic battle scenes looked cool. I dunno, AC Odessey burned me on tricking me into thinking Kass was my character. I guess if I assume the opposite going in, I wouldn't be as angry. Heard the romance had improved, upgrading from casual dalliances to actual dating. Didn't a Bioware dev go over there to help with that?
Watched gameplay for Hunted: Demon Forge. It's 9 years old, but it's voiced by Lucy Lawless which intrigues me.
Been playing Red Handed Robin with the hubs, who flew in last night *snuggles him*. I got it because I want to learn the pros and cons of including lies in a game mechanic.

Crimson Spires Demo
*blinks* well. I didn't see that Crime Novel turning into a crazy alien sci-fi anytime soon, but it did by the end of the demo. I can't say I love the art and the voice acting didn't exactly wow me but at least it's in English. Color me intrigued; it's $20 and just came out last month, so not exactly going to be on sale anytime soon. Definite buy-- I'll get around to it.

Just finished Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It was alright. Felt very short compared to the previous one.

So the other night after two attempts I managed to catch an Absol in Pokémon Ythe first one was a girl, but she didn't want to be caught and kept decimating my team the second one was a boy, and while also strong he eventually relented long enough to be caught so Cyrus joined the team, and it's as if the universe heard me because his 'personality' fits perfectly with the Cyrus I have for my Minerva in her somewhat 'canon' universe Cyrus is: quiet, somewhat stubborn
now I just need to gain Absol's mega-stone and the canon is complete (seeing as in one universe Cyrus is an angelic being, and mega-Absol... well )

I always forget about Manectric But yeah, I'm not fan of its design either. Huh, that's quicker than I remember. Maybe I'm confusing it with ORAS? Fortunately Absol is 50/50 split, so you shouldn't have much problem no matter which gender you settle on. I'd offer firing up my Alpha Sapphire and seeing if I don't have any good doggo for trade, but since you'd need to breed it to get you as original trainer and avoid obedience issues, as well as Absol being so close, it might actually be too time consuming. And feel free to babble, I like to read those I have nothing in Bank, since I moved everything to HOME once it became available, but in HOME... *stares at 3.5k Pokemon stored there* Ummmm.... Even with all my undying love for Gen V, I'll be first to admit it can be difficult and leveling can be tedious, so I get it. I never blame people when they don't like it (as long as it's not "har, har, designers were lazy with Pokemon design!" kind of argument ). Also, B/W > B2/W2.hmm...HOME is just on the Switch I take it? I really want to get a Switch at some point as well...mostly for FE:3H...but I have a lot of things on my wish list so I'm patient as for ramblings...those might be better suited to notes since most don't tend to be game related Let's see...I've played the demo's for ORAS and Sun&Moon, but I kinda hate how basically each pokémon story is the same thing over and over get a pokémon, get thrown out of the house by mom because it's a good 'character building exercise' ...gee, thanks mom
battle creatures to make them your 'friend', pit them against each other (often their own species) in battles uncover (or get thrown into) an evil plot by some randomly named organization...save the world from said plot, become champion variations may include befriending/catching a legendary for story purposes
aaand...repeat, hence my idea/dream for a sandbox game in this setting, that'd be fun I've tried playing the Mystery Dungeon / Pokémon Ranger spin-offs but could never really get into them Yeah, HOME is Switch service with additional mobile app. Just like Bank, it's subscription-based, but it has some free functions. FE:3H alone is worth getting Switch for True, story can be repetitive, but can't really expect more from franchise where main focus is battling and collecting (and the amount of people that bitch after each time Game Freak tries to do something different from the story would be amusing, if it wasn't so sad). That's why I like Gen V so much and appreciate an attempt of Gen VIII. In Gen V (B/W), main group was focused on freeing Pokemon from human oppression. And while in the end you could say they turned generic world domination, it's not so simple. Most of the group - including so-called king of theirs, N - trully believed in freeing Pokemon and that really was their goal. It's his (N's) manipulative foster father (with some speculating he was his real father) wanting to rule the world that tried the usual stuff. N overall is great character. And I love his battle gimmic. While he still fights with us, it's not with Pokemon he caught. Every time he fights us, it's with Pokemon he met at the route/cave/etc. we meet him, releasing them right after they helped him (willingly) with battle (we even find some of those Pokemon in B2/W2). B2/W2 turned Team Plasma into a bit more generic team.
In Gen VIII Team Yell is not even "evil" team. They're overenthusiastic group of fans that tries - quite clumsily may I add - to stop us from progressing in Gym Challenge as a way to help Marnie (it's revealed later why they're her fans). Interesting attempt for something different for sure. Sandbox game definitely would be awesome. They really should think about side-title like that, considering they can't bring some of their older side-titles back. so Cyrus joined the team, and it's as if the universe heard me because his 'personality' fits perfectly with the Cyrus I have for my Minerva in her somewhat 'canon' universe Cyrus is: quiet, somewhat stubborn Quiet is not the best nature for Absol gameplay-wise, but I'm glad you got one that matches his canon personality. I also often look at the ones that match what I imagine my Pokemon's personality to be, rather than stats. Plus XY aren't hard games to begin with, so it won't cause any problems

Played a lot of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold war. The single player is surprisingly better than I thought it was, there are multiple paths to completing a mission as well dialogue choices. The multiplayer was overall fun but part of me wonders if the strict SBMM is still retained from Modern Warfare 2019. The game has just been released though and there's a ton of new players.

I also often look at the ones that match what I imagine my Pokemon's personality to be, rather than stats. Plus XY aren't hard games to begin with, so it won't cause any problems 1) I got the impression that Sun/Moon's Team Skull wasn't all that evil either...I mean, I understand Lusamine was kinda the big bad
I like N's design and his character...sad I'll never be able to enjoy his installment though. Once read a comic on DeviantArt with a Nuzlock challenge in the Black/White's setting...which got dark pretty fast so I quit reading it. I mean, I can handle some dark stuff (courtesy of DA) but this comic was...yeah. Plus the main character wasn't very likeable either (at least imo.) It featured a panel of some guy with his head chopped off on a pile of dead sparrow bodies...it was very gruesome A few pages later the main character tortured and then killed a Team Plasma grunt I'm not fond of the Nuzlocke challenge anyway...I prefer catching the mons I like, and don't really care about stats and such. If they can hold their own in a fight that's good enough for me
2) I found it hilarious that his personality is this way...I was like 'well that fits him perfectly' as said above, I don't really mind its not the best nature for him gameplay-wise. I've yet to test him in a battle but he'll remain in the team until I can get my hands on Yveltal. I do plan on releasing Yveltal after I finish the game. Imo. it doesn't seem right to keep legendaries in a pokéball (at least lore-wise)
sometimes personalities and characteristics don't match up, which can make it even funnier. For example my Ralts Hecate, also quiet but loves to run. or my Flabébé Rhea: 'impish and somewhat vain' ...wait, whut?
and then my Froakie/Frogadier is all boss with his 'brave, likes to fight' combo...I'm loving him

A bit more Blood & Wine yesterday.
Worked on the Wine Wars quests, clearing both vineyards, and found a note about a "Tesham Mutna nursery" where there might be more evidence of what's going on. Geralt has no idea where that is but Regis does, so he decided to head back to Regis and tell him he's ready to go to Tesham Mutna. I also found a board notice about a "half-woman, half-oriole" creature near the palace. I know who it's referring to but I don't recall seeing that notice before. I am undecided on whether to do that quest this time since Guillaume is such a baby about it and I don't feel like doing all the tourney stuff.

Trials of Mana. I've completed the demo. It was 2-hour-long and included prologues for the playable characters and the 1st chapter. The controls were rebindable and comfortable and it was possible to use mouse for camera movement. Graphically, the game was fine - animations were a bit stiff, most side characters looked exactly the same, but the cartoon-like style fit the narrative and was easy to read. The story, while generic, at least manages to explain why any of the PC would bother with the main quest at all. I chose Hawkeye, the thief, whose goal was to remove a curse from his friend and save his people. To do so, he needed the Sword of Mana, which was a part of the main story. He was also the only POC among the playable characters. It seemed that the story was pretty linear - no dialogue choices, only non-interactive cut-scenes. The combat was rather simple and easy, but it might be because of the characters having too low levels. There was some variety in terms of stats and abilities, but equipment progression seemed linear - one weapon and armor type per character. OST and VA were adequate - I did not turn them off, but was not listening much either.

In Pokémon Y... I caught a few more pokémon Helioptile (male (quiet, strong willed): Apollo Rhyhorn (male (mild, highly curious): Atlas Amaura (male (impish, hates to lose): Helios (I noticed I could've switched the names for Helios and Apollo...but I thought it'd be a bit too on the nose otherwise , would've been nice to have a female Amaura...could've named it Iris that way) and I got my second gym badge from Rock trainer Grant
got my team wiped a few times today...and I got my hatred for caves back most of it involving the annoying spawns of pokémon who refuse to let me leave the battle since I've no intention of fighting every single last one of them I know I could invest in repels...but I prefer to safe up that money for other stuff that's more needed...such as potions
Currently the team consists of: Fletchinder, Frogadier, Charmeleon, Absol, Skiddo and newly evolved Kirilia (from my Ralts)

Been playing Red Handed Robin with the hubs, who flew in last night *snuggles him*. I got it because I want to learn the pros and cons of including lies in a game mechanic. Played through one time with him, and he got the bad ending. Then I used a guide for the others. Sprites and CGs are the same quality, the music acceptable, the plot interesting. I had used the option on Itchio to buy for a dollar, and I think I'll follow up and buy it for realsies to support. I liked it, very solid. Shay was my fave of the two romance options, his tragic backstory pulled my heart strings more. They had more recently established their friendship and some attraction prior to the game. Also he is such a grumpy face, I lurve my tsunderes. The other option, Warren, was the childhood friend she hadn't seen in a decade and although he has hilarious banter, I just didn't feel like it made sense for them to just... Get together Like that. Recommend. Especially since you can literally pay whatever you feel you can afford on Itchio

It might be worth doing again just to see how differently it plays out if you take a different option. It sounds like you went with the egg method the first time. Having Guillaume sacrifice himself has a far better ending, and you get to talk to the happy couple at the Palace later in the game.

Ebon Light
I cannot forget the game that kept me up till 4 am in the morning.
I liked what the author's goal was; which is that regardless of what you do, you can romance anyone. Up to a point, maybe there should be at least one deal breaker (like Loghain for Alistair) that should be involved. But then again, I haven't agreed with some of the labels these more complex games have put on some choices (being vengeful against someone who actually did me harm is not evil, it's realistic) so maybe I don't want deal breakers? Or just want them well done? It's whether you die or don't die that depends on your choices. I mostly prefer it this way, because the author of Animal Lovers said this really cool thing about how these games make you chase guys by saying exactly the perfect things rather than just being yourself and what kinda message that says to people reading, and I agree.
I romanced Vadayn. Why? Cute. Came off as good allignment. Kind to you from the first moment. As the game drew on, however, I found it a bit disheartening that he just wanted to take me away from it all by running away. Like a coward. He acquiesced to staying with me while I actually faced my challenges but I kept having this feeling of... I was a Queen and he was just a baby prince standing behind me. He didn't feel like he matched my character in mental strength, which ultimately made me feel like he didn't suit the character I was playing.
So I'm off to try another boy. The adoring but possibly manipulative Horan? (cutie) Grumpy Ernol? (still a cutie) Stoic Lucy? (eh) Sparkly 100s year old scheming Damiel? (hes like super old and oddly curly blonde) Choices, choices. So many emo elf boys to date.

Hmm, sounds intriguing. Unfortunately, that route still requires me to do the tourney stuff. Considering I'm playing at a pace of about 2 hrs per week, that will take me way too long because I suck at the tourney stuff.

Looks like Zeus is about to descend from the heavens in this scene. The variety of weather effects and sky boxes in this game is off the charts. You find these grim scenes often. I've no idea what happened here. Maybe poisoning? They didn't starve and there was no blood. looks like they died suddenly. Couldn't find any clues around. The environmental storytelling in this series far exceeds anything in GTA.

In Madden... So I have been practicing with my *other* team. A team with some created players and classic players and just kind of a fantasy team for me. With a much more mobile quarterback as it turns out. Only got two games in. First one against the Panthers I did end up destroying them. 61-19 I think. Second game against the Chiefs I had a lot more trouble with them but still wound up winning. So for the stats Rod Smith had 10 catches for 168 yards and Brandin Sharpe had 6 catches for over 180 yards and I believe what 3 TD? (Yes I would make a great sports writer why do you ask? ) Anyways on two plays I thought was quite nifty a little route to Brandin Sharpe which looked like he was going to get tackled and I had to get rid of the ball earlier but I was able to run him around the guy by taking a step back and then running out and breaking through for a Touchdown. And then Felton similar situation now like a mobile scrambling QBs but sometimes well deciding whether you want to un or not gets you sacked...or when you decide to run and get sacked by someone you didn'tsee, or try and get around a guy who is tangling with a blocker but he disengages and manages to sack you. Well on that last one I saw the guy happening so I knew it was going to be a close one but again did a stutter step around him and rushed forward for a good ground gain.

I've got a double-helping for y'all. First: Civ VI I'm playing as Japan this time, on an Archipelago map, random opponents. I end up with Mapuche, Sumeria, and Sweden. I've got the smallest main island, but I have access to several smaller islands nearby, so Harbors are going to be critical for trade routes. I'm falling behind in science and culture, but I have a lot of production and gold, so I attempt to leverage that for alliances. Gilgamesh is my bro, and Kristina likes me because I'm uncharacteristically an uncultured buffoon. (Gee, thanks) But Lautaro is just not playing nice, and is angry with everybody, even after I gave him all my iron and niter. He declares a surprise war. I have several Musketmen and a few Frigates, so I consider myself prepared for the War of 1740 AD. But I wasn't expecting attack helicopters and nuclear submarines. 3 turns later and I've lost Fukuoka and Sendai. Nagoya is burning, while Tokyo is next on the Mapuche's hit-list. By a stroke of luck, I get the declaration that grants a Giant Death Robot and just enough uranium to run the thing. It is literally the only hope for Tokyo. So, what do you get when you cross anime, steampunk, giant robots, the mid-eighteenth-century, and a bunch of angry island-people? Apparently, this. My GDR is able to cut through the invading forces like a katana's blade. I may prefer a longsword (hits that sweet spot between offense and defense), but boy howdy am I grateful for the sheer offensive power at my disposal. I manage to reclaim Fukuoka and Sendai, and Lautaro sues for peace. Being an honorable sort, I accept. However, someone has touched coal and now the planet is instantly flooded. I lose more than half of my districts at a rapid pace. My capacity to do basically anything is crippled, so my only hope is to leverage my Suzerain statuses with the city-states to gain enough votes for a Diplomatic Victory. Makes me wish I was playing as the good ol' USA. * * * O-oh say can you see * * * Only for Sweden to snatch victory because she won a cooking contest or something. "Always winning her own Nobel prizes... rigged from the start... ***grumble***" I am defeated, my ancestors are shamed. Next time, I'll let freedom ring and liberty sing. ------------- Second: Fallout 4 The unmodded run continues. I help Paladin Danse and his recon team secure Cambridge Police Station, and after being granted the rank of Initiate, I'm tasked with acquiring tech for Scribe Haylen. It's off the coast of Maine. Far Harbor, to be precise. So I bring Nick along, start the quest to find Kenji Nakano's daughter, and get on the boat. It's on the other side of the island. But I gave my word, so I grab my trusty 10mm Pistol (with a classy Minutemen paintjob to boot) and tread carefully through the Fog. *** several cannibal fishermen and giant carnivorous frogs later *** I make it to the lighthouse and find the haptic interface. And all it took was half my Stimpaks, most of my ammo, and a botched quicksave. I return to the station, overencumbered but victorious. Scribe Haylen is grateful, and I receive my reward of... 50 caps. A bowl of noodles costs about 35. Purified water? 55. "You're telling me that I crossed not one, but TWO blasted hellscapes, endured the constant rads from the Fog, and used the majority of my hard-earned resources to secure a glorified Bop-it... and you don't even give me enough to cover lunch?" "ArE yOu ReAdY fOr YoUr NeXt-?" No. I accept anyway, just to get it in my log. Aaand it's in Far Harbor again. War never changes.

The last couple of days i`ve been playing AC: Odyssey for the first time (i bought the game two years ago and tried to play it but i had motion sickness whenever i tried so i had to give up but this time i tried again but with depth of field and ambient occlusion turned off and it seemed to do the trick, at least so far) and i`m having a lot of fun. I`m playing Kassandra and so far i`ve left Kephallonia and i`ve done most of the quests in Phokis and Megaris, helped the Spartans win the battle in Megaris and decided to spare the Wolf of Sparta. Some screenshots: Leaving Kephallonia behind. The legendary "pig" and his piglets (the most difficult fight i had so far ) For a moment i thought Kassandra was in Hafter's Woods, i almost expected to see a couple of Lyrium Smuggler Lurkers join the fight . Cool statue. Just enjoying the view.

Cool statue. Just enjoying the view. Have fun it's a beautiful game (there'll be lots more of those wonderful views) and Kassandra is a fantastic protagonist. Liked your DAI reference too. Nice pic's too, the boar is a pain but wait till you get to the damn Hyena.
