Nioh. It seems to be an action game with light RPG elements. The controls are rebindable and quite comfortable, though, on-screen prompts refer to controller buttons. The graphics and sound (OST, VA) are good, but most lines that are supposed to be in Japanese are a bit too authentic (the VA is in Japanese with English subtitles, which I rarely read during gameplay, because everything kills me in 2 hits). The story starts with the protagonist who is a privateer in the 16th century England. He is locked in the Tower of London and his bird-fish-spirit friend comes to rescue. She (they?) shows the PC a way out, but then the spirit gets kidnapped by a bald guy in dark robe and with glowing tattoos, who initiates the second phase of the first boss battle shortly before that. Then the PC (in a full set of heavy armor) falls from the wall into the river and escapes successfully (by swimming, of course). Then the PC is shown pursuing (?) the bald guy by ship. As I understand, they all travel to Japan to mine some mystical mineral, called "Amrita". The PC disembarks in a random village and goes forth to slay demons and find his spirit friend. So he ventures to a random ship, finds a bigger demon there, slays it (took around 6 attempts) and sets the ship on fire (not sure if it was intentional). I suppose, the story is not the main selling point, but this was somehow too random. The PC version also includes a helmet with a valve for better immersion. The combat and level design are quite decent, but each level is disconnected from others, i.e. there is no interconnectivity between locations.

Ebon LightSo, I have my powerful Queen. I trended much more towards vicious this go around. Vedayn was too much of a coward, he was not a very supportive pillar towards the dominance I wished to exude. So I tried my Queen with Haron. He offered amusing sexiness and relaxation. He adored my Queen. But I'm still on the look out for someone who stands next to her with strength and reinforces her will. I wonder if any of the rest have that or if I'm on a fools errand. I want my power couple. I'm thinking it will either be Dulalea (oh my gosh, I can not spell his name) or Lacey, neither of which I like the appearance of. Heck, I like to beat the crap out of Lacey both times the option came up. The VN doesn't have a "skip forward" option. I didn't mind too much for the 2nd read through, but may find this cumbersome later. After I figure out who my power couple it, Id like to figure out the madness mechanic and actually see what that looks like. Be the trembling insane little flower everyone thinks I am. .... I am absolutely cruel. Haron adores PC so much, that I reloaded just to say I was sacrificing myself so I could see him fall apart and beg me not to. *ego stroked* Evil queen, kicking her devoted puppy.

Ikit Claw campaign is going swimmingly...
Moving the skavenslaves out of the way and they, rather surprisingly, formed an orderly verminline.
Gracious rebel skaven wizard remotely consents to experimental spell procedure. (This is the Before picture. The After picture was mysteriously lost.)
Miscalculated ambush, Lashiek attacked by Tomb King one turn before walls were built.
Despite Pyrrhic losses Field Test of Garrison successful.

Does playing hide and seek with YouTube count? Because of course Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity got leaked and of course people are uploading whole playthroughs even before game came out. And of course I had to get spoiled by thumbnail, which made me worry that direction with the story I hoped they wouldn't take is the direction they took, cooling my enthusiasm for the game to slightly below room temperature Oh, and I've spent unhealty amount of time playing Dynamax Adventures in Pokemon Sword and Shield, having terrible luck with finding right legendaries. Fortunately I found last missing one yesterday.

Fortunately I found last missing one yesterday. I absolutely hate when that happens. Wish people would stop using spoilery thumbnails but I guess they go for the clickbait Anyhow... Took some screenshots in Vampyr. Really love how atmospheric this game is and I did enjoy the game itself too (have played it multiple times) though it's definitely not for everyone due to its' excessive amount of dialogue (which I enjoyed) and combat. I personally didn't have problems with the combat, might have helped that I have hundreds of hours in Dark Souls so the mechanics felt familiar , but it's definitely a lot more clunky than DS which might cause some annoyance.

AC: Odyssey Today Kassandra infiltrated a secret meeting of the cult of Kosmos. Had a bit of romance with Lykaon, the healer. Hunted another legendary beast. And defeated The Dagger, the criminal gang that was terrorizing the people of Euboea. Funny that i ended up defeating the Kingfisher by accidentally throwing him out of the cliff, since the first time before i reloaded i had chose to let Agapios try to convince his brother to change his ways which led to the Kingfisher killing Agapios by throwing him out of the cliff. By ending this way it felt like poetic justice !

Liadan. The deer's eyes are somehow disturbing. I assume, it is by design? --- Nioh. Ventured into a shrine to find some guy. It was raining the whole time and the building itself was protected by a large lightning dog. The shrine led into a crypt, where I found another adventurer, who was looking for the same guy. Then the BBEG appeared. I politely asked him to hand over the fish-bird-spirit, but he refused and another boss battle started. For some reason, shooting him in the head, then rushing to him and stabbing proved to be very effective. After the battle the BBEG teleported away, but the adventurer #2 gave me a nice sword.

I want my power couple. Ernol may honestly be the other half to the power couple I was seeking. But maybe I should have been careful what I asked for. He has a temper. He lacks...compassion, seemingly. He goes from being heavily conflicted about how PC affects the bottom line of the World Order hes chosen, to completely throwing himself all in to her side with such an intense loyalty it kinda takes your narrative breath away. Off to make a different kind of character with a different look. Redheads can't wear some of the dress options I'm given, for instance. And I think Elara is well suited to Ernol. Time to make someone for the older Dulilea.

Finished Ghost of Tsushima. I found the story really jarring at first when I was pretty much only playing the "Samurai" way, but once I fully embraced the role of the "Ghost" the story was much more engaging. That final duel with Lord Shimura was depressing, and I chose to further twist the knife by giving him the "honorable" warriors death he wanted. Got a little misty-eyed there.
The duels in general where the best part of the gameplay. Though most of the time I played with Japanese audio, so trying to read subtitles and fight at the same time could get interesting. You look at the bottom of the screen and look up again only to see that you are now dead. Haha.

I think the Shogun would order his death anyway for another failure in his assigned task if Jin refused to kill him. That or dissolve Shimura's clan, casting him forever into dishonour and demotion into the commons. Shimura could also commit seppuku ; he failed the Shogun again. However, I doubt Shimura would feel hurt that Jin would kill him.

The spare ending is just sad to me, but the kill ending is beautifully depressing with Shimura and Jin referring to each other as father and son one last time.
^Also, learning the ghost strike stance has got to be one of the most epic ways to learn a new ability in gaming.

Ebon Light
Okay okay okay okay. So. I did this lazy thing where I made a save after the prologue. When I played the 2nd and 3rd time, I just reloaded that save and played somewhat differently from that point, so I wouldn't have to deal with a CC or the prologue a second time. Thus I believe the game didn't recognize that I had completed the game. Due to that, the "fast Forward" button and interface wasn't there. OR I was simply oblivious to the very subtle game interface. Which was great, I whipped out the last two romance options with significantly reduced re-reading. The flaws I can think of: - the lack of a rewind and/or log. The latter especially as I'd hit Fast Forward, get to the next dialogue choice, and have almost no clue what I was supposed to be replying to.
- The plot of the Cuthintal is never truly explained. I've romanced 5 different dudes, read through 3 different methods to achieve or abandon the revolution of this small island nation, and Murdered/not murdered/declined making a choice altogether with the voice in my head. And I still don't have a clear picture of exactly what's going on with that plot.
- Without a guide, as far I can tell, you CAN'T choose to rule the Island Nation in spite of some dialogue implying you may aim for that. Again, there is no guide as far as I can find, so..maybe you can.
- Speaking of a guide, there are like 10 personality traits you can get points in that affect dialogue options (and some success checks on actions( and I have no understanding of what causes what to increase. Regarding Cunning, I decided that asking questions, staying silent, and lying would increase it. I maxed it out, so that seemed to bear out.
But aside from that, we have the good stuff: - Better hair options than Dragon Age Inquisition and a good CC in general (face structure remains the same. you get skin, eye, hair color control)
- You get to change your clothes! yay!
- Realistic female character with a realistic personality
- Wide variety of expression: I could express violence pretty often (got me killed a few times as well). I could express distrust almost constantly. I could be rude, I could be polite, I could be sarcastic. Maybe lying should have come up more frequently.
- Romance expression: Multiple opportunities to express affection through the written text (hand holding, hugging, leaning, standing closer). OR NOT. 4/5 romances I threw myself at them to see the responses (also, I am a horn dog flirt in video games). the final romance, I made him wait, discarding the affection he showed me. He inquired whether we would be an item, and I didn't have to say yes or no, I got to say "I don't know, need time to think." and it was AGAIN brought up later whether I'd made up my mind. This was lovely and felt very safe and consensual. Perhaps it's unrealistic on his part to be so patient buuuut it's a romantic power fantasy where I get to have the guy at MY pace every time, so I'm all for it.
- Political plot. A shopping for clothes date. Not bending your personality to match the preference of your romance options to be able to smooch them.
- Well developed side characters: a whole cast of people with desires and likes and dislikes and motivation.
Rating the romances: - Haron (cute)- likes you on the spot, funny, flirty- willing to cry at losing you forever, but not a soft touch not willing to get his hands dirty in a dirty world.
- Vadeyn (cute)- kind to you on the spot, super affectionate. Bit of a soft touch regarding the harshness of reality.
- Ernol (edgey cute)- More like Fenris. Very intense. Kind of ...set against you when you meet, as he's traditional and dedicated to the Nation and sees you at odds to that at the start.
- Lacey (masculine)- He's a merc and thinks like one. The romance was funny and follows a bit of the enemies to lovers trope. Extra points for the pet names.
- Dulilea (feminine)- I don't know what the goal was with this one. He's a much older rich merchant elf who fights with favors and diplomacy and definitely money as well. He was the one I tried the "demure, it's too soon", options with and he was more patient about it than I would want, as I'm a passionate sort. I did like how he spoke to the MC after a certain event the best.
I would rate this story in my top 10 and highly recommend. It never made me cry, but there was definitely a lot of narrative tension and concern about missteps. I think the first way through took 6 hours? and then about 2 hours each time after. I have no idea, it's not a Steam game so there is nothing to count my time. I only paid $1 for it, and now I'm going to throw another $19 to that because to me, it was a $20 game.

BewitchedHentai game with a very thin plotline veiling easily gotten casual sex scenes between women. I think I got it because it was cheap and it said Succubus and that's my hentai jam, but MEH. Unmoor
Pretty art, acceptable introduction. Too fast. Sometimes people write these VNs like an action movie and I dont really get why. I was attracted by the "pretending to be a boy to sneak on a ship" scenario but I'm 22 minutes in and 3 people have already seen through my disguise. And the conflict hangs on sexism (she can't win back her father's ship because a woman can't be captain.) Meh. It was a bundle, refund requested. Our Life
Slice of life game that starts in childhood, then you get several chapters in adolescence, then teenage years. There is eventual romance, but the free version only gives you access to Cove. It's hard to gauge whether I'd be interested in Cove the Man when Cove is definitely an 8 year old boy. I like the speed of this, in a way. I dont usually tolerate modern slice of life visual novels. What do you think Hawke ? I'd seen you try it as well.

Found out in RDR2 that my horse is skittish enough to run away from anything including badgers, but won't get out of the way of a moving train. Third one I've lost. Fucking ridiculous. RS sure make some annoying design choices.

Haven't tried to romance Cove. Saves from the demo were incompatible with the full version, so I am yet to replay it. The first part (childhood) was generally nice - there were character customization and many dialogue options (not sure how significant they were in the long run), but nothing particularly memorable or important. There might be some overarching plot I've missed due to playing only the beginning. ---- Nioh. I think, I am getting better and gameplay is getting more diverse, though mostly it is build around "open shortcuts, find 3 McGuffins, defeated the boss". There was an area with insta-kill zones and narrow bridges (an abandoned shrine on the shore) and another one with poison and catwalks (mines). Thematically they were not anyhow connected, but followed one after another in the story. The mines: The shrine: I also got several new guardian spirits and changed the PC's hairstyle: And that's the last and the easiest boss I've defeated so far:
