Pillars of Eternity Exploring caverns under my home while those pesky contractors working on renovations. While doing that, I had the urge to try old BG games; since I don't have ROM on my PC for quite some time, I used my custom installer backup and Infinity Patcher so I can play them without discs. Everything works fine on Win 10. I have a question for owners of Enhanced Editions. Is it worth to buy them (GoG versions, since they come up with originals and it would be nice to have proper digital versions)? Should it be a simple task, or waste of my talents? Worth it. Some bugs are fixed, you get extra companions and you get to use the BG2 weapon proficiency system and all the class kits in BG1.

I consider it worth it, especially when they are on sales (which happens like every major sales event). Thanks, sales would be my timing for buying. Worth it. Some bugs are fixed, you get extra companions and you get to use the BG2 weapon proficiency system and all the class kits in BG1. I heard about new companions, also heard that they display total roll now. Also heard about new expansion that is bashed by old players, but it can't be that bad, except it might look like out of place.

Baldurs Gate 3
I really love the game. I'm on my third playthrough with a halfing ranger (I said before, that I find halfling animation a bit clunky and while that is true, I love her). This is Sigrun, beastmaster.
I still have a Tiefling wizard, a human fighter and whatever else will come to mind to play.

GW2
Is now 100% map completed...well, not. Ahahahaha. I haven't continued the story since the first drop of Drizzlewood coast, so I'm now at 50% for that map.
So now that VO was added, I'll replay the story since that point and complete that map. One day. Because, I just did a meta boss on the Bjora Marches (ended up on the map when it started so...) and now my hand hurts. Also, that map is probably the most atmosphere of the entire game. I forgot how creepy it felt.

Sims 4
remade one of my earlier families with two gay dads and an adopted little girl. one dad is a painter with the super parent aspiration and the other dad is an athlete with the bodybuilder aspiration (he already has the body, but now I just gotta get him through that career) and the little girl currently has the artistic prodigy aspiration
So my kid sim suffered from a monster under her bed, at first she freaked out but I clicked those options away, and...now she's friends with the monster monster: heheh, I'm going to scare you kid: hi! monster: ... kid: *talks to it* monster: ...I like you
I mean...in a world with aliens, mermaids, vampires, magic users, AI-robots and ghosts (and Bonehilda (the skeleton maid) is returning in the upcoming stuff pack)...I doubt any kid would be scared of monsters beneath their bed

So I went and retried Kingdom of Amalur and my hand doesn't like that game one bit. So I uninstalled it. I guess I could go and try Fable (anniversary edition) again for my Celtic/Gaelic fix. It's more British but close enough. Combat might end up causing hand pain too thought. I'm trying to remember why I stopping playing it last time... What I really need is a game that feels like AC Valhalla Glowecestrescire zone. That would be awesome. I got Kynseed too (indie game made by people who did Fable 1), but that's in unfinished early access (lack features and stuff) and more like Stardew Valley/Life Fantasy with British coating. Or I should move to some retro game that don't require the WASD/massive button mashing to get anywhere...

Finally managed to get through a whole run of BG3 early access (with a teensy bit of skipping in the end). And all it took was a murder dwarf. Or well, the 5th reincarnation of her. Because of issues. And patches. And stuff. Here's a picture of her. Compilating murders and stuff.
Her main attack was yeeting people into other people, because dammnit I'm not letting those 18 strength points going to waste! Otherwise axes, heavy axes, throwing axes (I wish) and Astarion. Because he has magic missile. And magic missile is the best spell in the Forgotten Realms. Fireball? Bleh. Cloudkill? Gimme a break. Abi Dazim Horrid Wilting? Hahahaha. Magic missile is where it's at! Until I get the other spells. Because they are rad.

Cute dwarf Curious Crow and I agree from way back in BG1 when it was released Magic Missile is the best, couldn't wait to get that first MM Wand.

dazk Thanks If I remember the spell itself also scaled with the wizard, so a high level one unleashing the missile was a treat and a half. In BG1 and 2 first level spells memorized were pretty much just magic missile, plus maybe one or two charm spells. Can't remember if the wands scaled, but they were so handy for shutting up those pesky enemy wizards.

I just remember that there was one in the first area you go to after leaving Candle Keep and I used to head straight to where it was located because it was so great. I think there was a decent weapon in that area but it was protected by a group of Red Wizards IIRC. Sadly I tried playing BG1 again about 2 years ago and I just couldn't do it, the top down view and the pace of the game was just too slow. Didn't make it past Candle keep.

On the BG1 note, Sleep spell is arguably the best spell to start with in BG1. Lets you do some pretty broken things. It works on Ankhegs for instance. So you can run up to the Ankheg farm and level up quick. Even better, it also works on Basilisks, combined with the friendly Ghoul you get, Korax, who is immune to petrification, you can level up VERY fast there. Greater Basilisks are worth something crazy like 9k xp. Walk out at minimum level 3 but more like 4-5 just from the basilisk zone, let alone the ankheg farming after.
If you don't want to meta-break the game quite so much Sleep also trivializes hordes of Xvarts on your way to the Gnoll stronghold, which then trivializes the Gnolls as well. Get Minsc his Dynaheir (or fulfill Edwins contract) and then off to the Nashkel mines.

Wow you remember way more than me but I haven't played the game since it's release except for a brief attempt at playing it a couple of years ago, I can't remember if I even ever used the Sleep Spell. That damn Basilisk area was a nightmare, I really wish I'd thought to even try using the sleep spell.

Because of BG games, I find other BW games easy. I had to use console to unlock Insanity in First ME; just couldn't play on Normal and Hardcore first. Well, except that unfair spawning waves in DA2, that was just cheep trick from BW's side.

Gale is the one with magic missile or did you make Astarion a arcane trickster? Yep Astarion is a trickster. Gale was never encountered on this run, so his magic missile remains a mystery. Or well, I know he has it, dorf does not. Granted could also have given her magic missile with the Elderitch knight class, but her action point was better spent on throwing people than casting spells, since that seemed more reliable than her 88% hit rate.

So after my comment last night, I re-installed and tried Fable (anniversary edition) and uninstalled it after a few minutes. Now I remember why I only spent 4 hours in it the last time: the camera triggers my motion sickness...
So instead I installed 2 games. Now I'm going to replay: - Greedfall because the natives have this druidic feels to them (camera also triggers my motion sickness but there is a mod that work fine the first time I played it) or if my hand still hurt - Pillars of Eternity (with a Nature Godlike Druid, go-go nature and Galawain!!!)

I made a dude De Sardet in Greedfall (I played female at launch). Focusing on magic (did technical last time)...and mana regen is annoying at level 1. I want to cast shadow missiles all the time, not whack people with my hammer. Anyway, my hand still hurt so I saved and went to Pillars of Eternity instead. I made a Nature Godlike Druid and made it to Gilded Vale. I recruited my best buddy Aloth already too. Going to take a nap and have more nightmares next. My druid is going to use spear when not shifted, with a shield or hatchet or dual wielding shield. I'm going to use Cladhalíath* once I get it (aka I'm going to side with the Dozen, never done it before anyway...otherwise I need to wait for the start of Act 3, that's like an eternity away ). My druid can turn into a huge bearshifted creature. Whack things super easily. Tower over everyone too. This is going to be fun. Especially once I got a few levels and can cast the storms spells. *translate to stabber/excavation depending on your gaulish/gaelic dialect apparently. It's the best spear in the game.

Unfortunately the new Valhalla patch didn't fix the performance issues the last one brought so still waiting for that to get fixed. I did check out the additional quest they added into Immortals, that gives a preview of the first dlc coming. It was ok, just a challenge map to do with platforming. Kinda hope that's not all the dlc is gonna end up being but will see.

Game's difficult enough withou tthat hampering m eeven more . I may try again with Oddysey but for now I've chosen to abandon my AC attempt gone back to my Dragon Age playthrouh instead. At least I know DA runs nice and smooth on my system. Though I hav esinc ereinstalled the Witche rseries as I was thinking of geting in and playing them instead eventually for now.

I restarted my Pillars of Eternity Druid, switched DEX and PER. The speed increase I had with DEX wasn't that worth it if my hits are missing half the times because of meh accuracy (which PER increase) and I have no intention of bringing a Priest along to fix that later (die, Durance, die!). Yes, I play Pillars of Eternity without a Priest, except for that one time where it was my MC and I found it dreadful compared to my Rogue PT. I'll have my hand full with babysitting Aloth anyway. I also looked at Deadfire Druid subclasses, already thinking of playing both games if my character is fun. But first I have to finish POE. I'm playing on Easy as I'm not feeling super micromanaging right now, but I might raise that to Normal as Easy is kinda boring with early encounters being 1 enemy . Current goal: make a party of Sagani, Edèr, Aloth, Hiravias and Kana. The urge to put my gal Pallegina in is going to be strong once I encounter her and there's going to be a lots of backtracking there because Sagani/Hiravias are pretty far from where you start.
