Continuing my latest Skyrim run. Found a follower mod, "Khajiit Will Follow", which feature 4 (yes, FOUR) fully-voiced followers with their own quests and fighting styles. Even better, you can have all four of them in your "party" at once. So basically I have a small army of cats.

Bioshock
So lets see when did I play this game last?....maker's balls 2016.
On the bright side though this game does have an actual New Game + mode which I kind of remember seeing but nice to know that I actually remembered it. Which is actually realllly nice having pretty much all my weapons and at least some (?) of my plasmids right at the start of the game. Curiously enough though I was a bit concerned at first that I couldn't really use any of the stuff because there would be no reason for the game to populate the maps with ammo to guns you wouldn't have until much later...that is usually how video games work, so I was trying to use the crossbow as much as possible, but then there actually is a fair smattering of bullets for any number of guns all throughout. Haven't really found any grenades yet though. And either I didn't get all my plasmids in the ifrst PT or it only kept some of them unlocked for some reason...
Owing to somewhat time constraints and the fact this game just is not for me at those higher levels...I am sticking to easy...yeah you aren't fooling me with your 'new to shooter retric'...you can't use that reverse \psychology on me...don't judge! Which then right now the beginning of this game seems suuuuppppeeerrr easy...but then I know what will happen!
I have to give this game kudos...yes BioShock Infinite I have quite often praised as having the best introduction/ tutorial section in the history of gaming...but this one is not bad. Establishes many of the central charactters and themes, does that Half Life thing where it lets you see and gives you hints at future gameplay, setting, and enemies, with the Big Daddy..and the Splicer attack on the Bathysphere quickly establishes it as pseudo horror.
On another note me and my wife have been keeping an ear out of Atlas's 'Would you Kindly'ies...I am quite proud of myself to notice the would you kindly on the opening note but then I did not see what else it said. Also the foreshadowing did get perhaps a little thick when Atlas's 'would you kindly' on the section where the BDs are fully introduced...and your weapons drop and you cannot do anything. Of course I guess a first time player would just assume the game is tutorilizing again but in hindsight this should have been a huge hint as to what was going on.

SWTOR Bounty Hunting in the jungle BH completed Hutta and made it to the Imperial Capital. That's when things start to get weird with the writing. First, there are a few options here and there to say your character isn't Imperial, but most of the Imps content act as if you are anyway. And a loyal Imp at that. You can even act clueless about the Republic. Gets even weirder post-base game. KOTXX doesn't really fit with a Bounty Hunter in term of final state. I think the only way I can make it work RP-wise is join the Mandos and act as if the Alliance is my own Mando clan or something. That almost mean I have to romance Torian. hmmm. Something else about the BH, they have zero prefab background. None, nada. All you are told is Braden found you and asked you to join his team to win the Great Hunt. That's it. Mako even plant fake stories to boost your reputation on Hutta. You could be a washed out Sith if you want (via heroic moments there is even a way to get force powers). Anyway. I got the second "big AOE" ability of the BH. The one without cooldown. The one that is a nerfed copy of the gunslinger/sniper main AOE and it looks boring compared to Death from Above. Also, the sound effect is annoying to my ears. I also feel like the BH(Trooper) suffer the most from level abilities "improvements". In the sense that they just get worst with time instead of better. All the other classes abilities stay about the same in damage output as you level. For BH/Trooper, it feels like abilities damage output is halved once you pass level 10. In fact, once I reached level 10 my default attack went from 85-101 damage to 67-90 damage without changing gear. I'm still trying to see what kind of BH I'm going to play. She started super cool b**** hard-ass, but the moment she got Mako she mellowed. The same thing somewhat happened with my Imperial Agent. Except in that case, I had almost topped the dark side meter then switched to light side. I don't want my Agent to be full dark side (I kind hate the DS/LS system now). This less or more happened when Vector joined the team, so now I tend toward the diplomatic options instead of the "lol murder troll" ones when with Kaliyo. No wonder they call this the influence system, but it's the companion influencing your decisions, not the other way around. Finally, Mako is such a weeb Bounty Hunter. She's also my little sister. Nobody touch Mako or they get shot. In the face. Repeatedly. --- I also advanced a bit my Imperial Agent stuff on Taris. I'm pretty sure that story is not supposed to be played along the planet storyline. Because Ki Sazen and Tana Vesh are voiced by the same person. At least it's not a Republic side story available to the JK, they would be super confused, wondering why there are 3 Kira around...

Finished "The Dwarves" because ... dwarves. Great Dwarf packed game with hot Dwarf on Orc action. Blood, beer and stinky dwarf cuisine abound, alongside some smithing. If you enjoyed and are feeling nostalgic for some mid 00s German RPG jank, this is a 19/10. Extra 9 points awarded for Dwarves.

In fact, once I reached level 10 my default attack went from 85-101 damage to 67-90 damage without changing gear Ya the Merc def got a big ol dps nerf a while back. The bigger hitting abilities are also spread out really poorly for leveling, so it feels pretty boring till you get them. And ya pretty much any AOE ability after you have experienced the glory of the spray and pray of snipe/sling feels like you are shooting tissue paper. Also if I'm recalling right the sound effect is related to the pistols you are using, so maybe look around for a sound you like? My merc was my first and main from the start and was lucky enough to have 2 D-200 blasters which are pretty rare now that sound like Tie Fighter blasters when I use abilities. Also ya, Laura Bailey shows up in a few different places during the game without too much of a difference in her voice tones. Can be a bit jarring sometimes but less so then say Fem Trooper having a talk with Satele lol

BioshockSo I guess one of the long term games I will be playing with myself trying to guess whether or not this game was originally designed with a NG + mode or not...I suppose I could look it up but where is the fun in that. . Also, I mean if anyone would enlighten me I wouldn't mind. But in the category of it being an add on for the eollection. During the quest through Neptune's Bounty one of the locals asks you to get the camera for research purposes in order to take pictures and start learning about your various opponents...tutorializing fun. But yet because of the NG + I already had said camera...but yet had to continue to go and collect the damn thing as if I hadn't. And well then it gave me the objective to take the pics of the 3 spider splicers. This led to quite the ordeal which reminded of this games 'but wait...there's more!' element of storytelling...or the 'more after these messages'...and then it does not get to said report almost to the end of the news cast in question. So I commented on how the game's combat was super easy yesterday and well I still haven't died...but man there has been a couple of very close instances mainly one with a Big Daddy. I also have been slowly remembering some of my first PT as I have been playing through it...I think I remember getting lost in the Foyer of Fontaine's Fisheries and just being stuck there...didn't get stuck this time. And then I think I reember getting annoyed that I had to go through the lounge and then backtrack...which well pretty sure I will have to do that though. *grumble*

SWTOR My Bounty Hunter "lawfully" stole a space bucket. It's actually called a D5-Mantis, but I always called it the Bucket. I actually like the BH ship, it's easy to go from the cockpit to the exit door: jump down. Some players actually kill themselves inside of it. I cleared the capital. Nothing super special there. Dromund Kaas is a bit boring as a BH. Find this slave. Kill this Sith apprentice. Find these lost soldiers. Add some backstabbing here and there thanks to your nemesis Taro Blood. Well more like nuisance. For a Mandalorian, he's a total coward. Then it was off to Balmorra. I love Balmorra as a BH. Stupid imperial asking the BH to undermine his superior so he can get a promotion while all you want to do is murder the boss of his boss...and if you play it well, you end up praised for avenging the guy you were sent to kill without even having to lie. Someone else, that you killed, get then blame. Now going to Nar Shadda to find the Eidolon. Somewhat amusing, but I'm wearing an armor set called Eidolon, lol (no related). My BH first outfit was basically a smuggler outfit, I upgraded to an armor after Dromund Kaas, but I hate most of the game BH armors. Too bulky. The Eidolon armor is better. I just changed the glove for more BH ability looking ones (i.e. gloves that seems to have a rocket launcher on the arm) and died it dark red/black. Also ya, Laura Bailey shows up in a few different places during the game without too much of a difference in her voice tones. Can be a bit jarring sometimes but less so then say Fem Trooper having a talk with Satele lol The sound that annoys me isn't really the blaster's, but Unload/Blazing Bolt and Sweeping Fire just being too much "pewpewpewpewpewpewpewpewp". I don't even like when the enemies do the similar skills. It's like the skill sound is higher than the rest of the sound effects. I did switch blasters to see if it was better as well. And I'm starting to wonder if it's a nerf or something related to de-leveling system that affect Trooper/BH. I went to Mek-Sha to get free nice XP (discovery XP is worth 30k at my level, lol) and it boost you to level 75. All my single target abilities were boosted to the other classes hard hitters at 75, but while doing story on planets I already out level it's the opposite. Anyway I gain some more levels (48 now) and the class is feeling a bit better even if it's annoying that my filler has a 1.5 seconds cast time (that's dumb). I don't have much of an issue with reusing voice actor, but I think Ki Sazen/Tana Vesh is the only case of having basically the same NPC character (dark side force user) on the same planet in important roles (but only for the Imperial Agent). The other cases are post-base game meeting that were probably not planned originally (Trooper/Satele & Malora/Imperial Agent).

I've been playing Horizon Zero Dawn. I haven't really touched the main quest a whole lot, as I decided to play the Frozen Wilds DLC instead. After scrounging for supplies though most of the game, I've reached the point were I've built up a bit of a stockpile, which is why I've stayed away from the new weapons that are all a drain on supplies. The Stormslinger chugs all my echo shells, plus I tend to blow myself up anyway. LOL. The Forgefire takes all my blaze. I was getting beat down by a Fireclaw, so I figured its time to give the Ice Rail a shot, it hits like a truck! And it fills a niche for me, as its not draining items I use for other weapons. So yay!

Personsally my favourite weapon probabl yis the Storm slinger though I'll admit I didn' t use it as much in m ylast playthrough given I was experimenting with other weapons. But I agree the stormslinger does eat through echo shells very quickly but I do find it a very effective weapon especially against the bigger machines so I think it's a matter of balance there.

I've only used it so far for the hunting challenge, and then I cried about how few echo shells I had left. Though I've not been using Tearblast arrows as much lately, so those echo shells aren't quite as dear to me now. I am generally a pyro, so those Chillwater cannisters were just collecting dust.

SWTOR And there is now one dead Eidolon on Nar Shaddaa. I let Mako choose his faith. I probably also caused major collateral damage to the Republic. Blew up billions of stuff meant for them in the process of hunting him down. Then there was more Tarro Blood being a nuisances to deal with, but that was short. My merc is now going to Tatooine to find a dude who swindles every rich organization in the galaxy. Good and bad ones. He's a companion. So even if I wanted, I can't kill or get ride of him. Since I reached higher levels (currently 61), my damage seems better. There was a few +X% to damage in the skill tree thought. I'm also liking the class to deal with heroics so far. I might end up with BH Arsenal main...

Yeah it is a great damage dealer and very useful agains tthe bigger and tougher machines like the fire and Frostclaws even the Deathbringers and rockbreakers in the main game. It's worth picking up a fwe echo shells for it if you can find them but it really depends on how much you plan to us eit.

The DLC in terms of the overarching historical story and Sylen's story will not make much sense in the DLC unless you have played the main story of the game till near the very end. Each to their own I guess but it does my head in even thinking about that.

I'm further on the Sylens path than the human path, Erend's been waiting a while... And its not like I haven't played the main game before, its just been so long what I do remember is very fragmented.

BioShock
Its been fun trying to go through with this game and dusting off the cobwebs of my memory while I played this. It occured to me the massive green farm of BioShock which then as coincedence would have it was the next area after the Sub pen and Neptune's bounty. And that is pretty much it...though there was the rather nice touch of watching the trees catch on fire which was freaky to be involved in.
I don't think this was really only my favorite of the game though it is neat.
Also Atlas says something which is just plain...odd. He mentions that Rapture gets its oxygen from the trees which is something along the lines of 'how do you think we can get oxygen down there?' But there is two problems with this. 1. That is pretty much how you get oxygen ANYWHERE and 2. I know that there are plants down there getting sunlight to do their thing somehow...but those are special instances, Rapture is an internal closed environment in the ocean, and well...how do they get all that sunlight that they need?

So yay! Where are you in the main story? The DLC in terms of the overarching historical story and Sylen's story will not make much sense in the DLC unless you have played the main story of the game till near the very end. Each to their own I guess but it does my head in even thinking about that. I think so lon gas you've had a tleat your firds tconversations with him because Aloy pretty much picks up almos tstraightaway tha the'sa potential troublemaker and you'er close to level 30 then I think that's good enough

SWTOR
Tyresius Lokai is probably the less annoying of all the "there should have been an option to kill the guy, but he's forced on you anyhow" companion. He's not named Tyresius Lokai anymore too.
Then at the same time, I kinda wish I could threw him out of the airlock of the Bucket as the dialogue option (for not liking him) once your back on the ship says. In case someone might recognize him, he's going to stay in there too. He might be "dead" now, but he still has the same face. Mako is already at influence 30 way too good at healing now.
Tatooine was rather uneventful on the Bounty Hunter. I guess there is a way to piss off the Lady of Pain... I never really explored that part of the quest, I always felt it was faster to just accept being her champion for one fight.
Next, Tatooine bonus series. I'm going to interact with Mandos. I don't think I ever done it with a Bounty Hunter, I wonder if I get special dialogues.

Moving on to BG2EE. I see Beamdog used one of my least-favorite RPG design things in Neera's quest line -- if a quest is described as high-priority, you need to do it last for optimal results. If I head out to rescue Daxus immediately instead of waiting a couple of days to put together a Talisman first, it's pretty obvious that something is going to go badly. A lot of CRPG design concepts seem to exist in order to undermine role-playing rather than to support it.
Speaking of Neera, I like her just fine. Her Manic Pixie Half-elf Dream Girl thing is well-executed, and wild mages are fun. (And I get the impression that she'll be overpowered AF in the late game, as long as the wisdom potions hold out.) Sure, she's full of anachronisms, but I'm an OOTS fan.
The main thing that's striking me about BG2 is how unlike other Bio games it is in terms of pacing. If anything, it reminds me of Skyrim at its most frantic. Here's how my last session went: The party is returning from the Refuge to Athkatla to find Daxus (for Neera's sidequest.) Immediately upon returning, a messenger appears to tell us that Nalia's father's funeral is being held in the Graveyard district. Might as well go, since Daxus doesn't show until evening anyway. On the way, another messenger comes up looking for someone to investigate mysterious deaths in the Umar Hills, so that's a major sidequest added to the list. Attend the funeral, which advances Nalia's sidequest. Right after leaving, we accidentally interrupt Renfield being attacked and poisoned. Saving his life means hauling him down to the Docks, in the course of which I end up picking up three more sidequests for Yoshimo, Jaheira and Xzar. (Shouldn't have tried to take a shortcut through the inn). Jaheira's SQ is one it's best to do immediately, so it's off to the Government District and then the Slums. In the Government District I accidentally pick up another major SQ (Valygar) while working on Jaheira's thing, but I needed to go there anyway and buy a magic license. On to the Slums, where we take care of Jaheira's problem. By now it's late enough that Daxus will have shown up, so it's off to Delosar's Inn. One moderately tough battle, and we've finally done the thing we were trying to do.
That's all in three hours of in-game time. No wonder these people make it to level 30 in six months or so.

Finally got around to playing the free Infiltrator mode that was added to Terminator Resistance. While it wasn't anything super amazing it was still a fun experience. Getting to hear the reactions of some of the soldiers when they see a terminator come up and start tearing through them was good. Also the added Terminator vision mode was fun to use and I rarely ever turned it off. I really hope that if the devs are given another shot at a sequel that perhaps our character gets to be a terminator in the story campaign. Also forgot how much I love the music in the game, the main menu is enough to just get you pumped if your a fan of the franchise.

Finished Control today. All in all it was alright. Except for the Ashtray maze, that was amazing. Otherwise liked it well enough to finish it and there were a bunch of things I really liked, but at the same time would never have made it to the first boss if not for the immortality option. Won't be playing the dlc though. But glad to have experienced it.
Then keeping with the theme, finally started Unavowed. Which I've kept on the backburner for way too long. Picked a lady actor (even if police lady might have been a bit more in theme, but what can you do) and got through the first three missions. It's been pretty fun, even if I'm disappointed the butter knife did not turn out to be the proper weapon. It can work. Just need to thrust harder...

SWTOR Anyone remember what I said about the Imperial Agent on Alderaan? Well looks like I forgot the Bounty Hunter story. I had to take an oath. An Oath! To be House Girard's advocate. The Consular also become something like an advocate and they don't take any. There is also a lots of gossip when you go into House Girard "house". There was a party. I was apparently not even worth talking to because I was lower than a servant. WOW! But lets start at the beginning. When we first arrived near Alderaan, Mako talked about going on some R&R at the beach after the Great Hunt. Girl is already planning vacation, I promised them to her anyhow (you know, that little sister thing). I'll have to remember that and do a trip to Rishi or Onderon before starting Chapter 2. Anyhow, so I got into House Girard's house. In the middle of a party and meet some annoying people until the leader of House Girard came over. Luckily he wants the guy I was tasked to kill dead. Looks like a very good partnership to make. First I had to get an encrypted datapad from a very pompous noble with some info about my target. He didn't even want to talk to me, so I did fist-diplomacy. Extremely effective. Mako approved too. Now, I'm going to some museum. In lands owned by Organa (and tus Republic) allies. I was told to not destroy the precious archeological stuff exposed inside, and only steal what was needed...and Mako was all happy about sightseeing already. It's going to go so well. One thing about the BH story (that some people find boring because it's repetitive, you hunter targets basically every planets, like a BH would do) is that the dialogues are very well written. Even Mako's overworld comments are great.

Proclamation from the Imperial Senate After throwing back the destructive forces of the Contingency the Galactic Community proclaims the creation of the Imperial Senate led by the Galactic Empress and the Imperial Core. For a safe and secure… society. This was a fun campaign with the new Nemesis DLC for Stellaris. Back when they created the whole Galactic Community with the Federations DLC it was only a matter of time before they made is so you could go full on Star Wars Prequels with it.
Spent much of the campaign building up my diplomatic weight in the Senate, buying political favors and getting ready for the crisis. Turns out I didn't need all those favors as the Senate was more than willing to create the First Galactic Imperium.
The achievement image and name is also inspired by the Prequels.
