FFXIV - I have come across this mod that reflavours dark knight with flowery theme, all pinks, reds and purples and it's amazing. I've been looking for an excuse to use a battle dress glam for a while and the mod is pretty much perfect for this. Also some attacks make you summon an extra spectral sword in addition to your normal greatsword and it's just

Must admit the onl ycomplain tI hav eabout Hogwarts is how expensiv everything is in the game especially given you are a student an ddon' treally ge tpaid a lo for quests. I tdoes make it difficul tt oge tstuff don eespecially early on you hav et oraid every eye chest you can find so you can afford it. Because the onl ythin that's remotel yaffordable is clothing. Pretty much everythin gelse from potion recipes and plan tseeds you have t opa ya tleast 1000 gold for. Even the spellcrafts for the room of requirement arepretty damn expensive. It's almost as if Scotland is going through a recession or something in this story.
Plan to go back t oForspoken today as I want to continue and move towards finishing m yadventures with Frey. I'll come back to Sabrina to continue her when I'm done.

AC Odyssey
Was busy with other stuff so I didn't play much. However, I did open up the entire sea map. Spent the most time beating down pirates. When something large flew by the screen, I panned to look and realised its a dead pirate. Picking up dead passengers tend to happen when ramming pirate ships. Spent a couple of hours with one in a corner, one on the rail, another underfoot of the crew.
Dived into every shipwreck I came across. I doubt I found them all since some of these wrecks are closer to the coast. Would have to check off the list for the Poiseidon achievement.
With the sea map done, I started on the main story. I remembered that if I kill the cult guards at the Pythia's home, she'll be killed so I bypassed them. I waited for night fall when half of the guards would be sleeping then sneaked into the Pythia's room. Joined a costume party in which Kassandra found her brother.
I'm mostly ignoring the SQs but decided to pick up the one about the Kingfisher since it's not too bad a chain SQ as it has a mini story unlike the rest.

I finished the first Uncharted game. The final boss had me almost rage quit. Took me way too long to figure what to even do to get to him without getting one shot killed. It was late, I was tired. I just wanted to finish the game. Ugh.
Did not expect horror game elements! That part was the most annoying bit. Waves and waves of monsters. Yawn. Actually, everything about the gameplay annoyed me. The story was decent and I enjoyed the banter in between long tedious stretches of either climbing or shooting things. I don't understand yet why this series is so highly regarded. But since I bought the collection I'm going to play the other 2 games as well. I probably should do something more fun with my time. At least the second game has Claudia Black. So there's that?? And Nathan is nice to look at, I guess.

So now that I have earned my place in the upper echelon of society (aka pc master race), I felt it was time to contribute to the whole Thargoid war fuss in the hot mess that is Elite Dangerous. What's that, I hear you ask? Did I buy another new ship? Oh but of course, beloved reader. Because I have more credits than skills. Can neither confirm nor deny that one. Apparently so many credits that I started a build, and then gave up on it 75% of the way because I was too chicken shit to give it a go. So now, I have an 80% engineered barge the size off my ass (why yes, I am part Kardashian, did you know?) Which I have been swanning around the cooties infested galaxy with collecting all those people who like to ignore their problems in hope that they go away. Spoiler alert - the problem now has flashing lights and definitely want to kill you. Sorry, not sorry. I think I'll have to watch quite a few more videos and actually try and do some actual flying before I attempt some anti-xeno stuff. And yes, I so already have a ship 80% ready for it . Chances are not high though, I read recently that one of the skills will benefit me immensely is apparently quite difficult to get the hang of on HOTAS. Which of course, is my preferred method of flight, and damn it, I'm here for a good time, not a long time

Weeeeee, finally some flying classes and then we uncover the Room of Requirement: Yeah you'll find tha troom very useful onc eyou can get all the bits and pieces you need for it. I'm still missing a fw eseeds but I think I'v egot most of wha tI need now tha tI have a large po tspellcraft. I could see myself byuin gsome ohter spellcrafts later fo rwhen the room changes and dajusting and adapting accordingly. Whic hi ssomething else I didn' t do in my firs trun t omake things easier. Stil I learned m ylesson and am making a better fist of it this time given I'm already nearly level 21 and I've only done 1 trial thus far. Prett ysure I'll hit level 34 before I reach game's end this time. Just need the means to get some more money so I can buy the other bits I need for things like my vivariums and other things once they're available. At leas tyou ca nget a broom now that'll make getting around the map a lot easier.

SWTOR
My Consular started the storyline on Belsavis: wild jungle world prison. There is a bit of problems with the Imperials causing a prison break, but her main target is some old, very old, stasis vaults to find an army of aliens.
Because nothing can go wrong with an army of aliens who have been imprisoned for millennia. I love how my Jedi present it as "centuries old" because saying "millennia old" isn't very believable... Of course, there was a traitor there too. They are everywhere these days.
I always wondered if the Consular story on Belsavis was set before or after the Belsavis planet story. I'll got with before since the bad Esh-ka are enemies late on the planet, but technically aren't free until the Consular story happens.
I also bought the Yavin 4 temple stronghold. I waste all the hard earned credits on my Consular to get it and open a few rooms. She made herself a bedroom full of crystals, datacrons, some plants and a waterfall. Also, a room with all the banks, email and GTN terminals + vendors, but it's a bit hidden from view as not to populate the temple feel. Not much deco outside of that, beside some statues here and there. I don't feel like putting too much "tech" stuff in the main "hall". It feels weird. I also still have a lots of room to open, but I need more credits for that...

One of them stayed quite a long time aboard my ship when she/he finally decided that it was long enough and slid back into the sea.

Hogwarts Legacy
I continued my Hufflepuff playthrough: Lian helped Poppy dealing with Horntail Hall and found goblin plans with Amit. I'm still mad, that Amit is not a fully fledged companion - I like his realistic approach to danger. All the other companions - Natty, Poppy, Sebastian and Ominis - are all badasses, that have no problem with fighting poachers, dark wizards, inferi or goblins, but Amit is like 'Let's not do that again, shall we?' and I love that, because realistically it's like most of us would react. And I like his upbeat personality.
I have to say, that Lian, my Hufflepuff, is my favorite character so far, despite me being sorted as a Ravenclaw everywhere (well, with Hufflepuff tendencies). Being a Hufflepuff just feels so cozy and right, so maybe I'm a Ravenpuff
Horntail Hall:
Lian has her gothic phase (as a gothic myself, I approve):
And my Slytherin Lily Juniper has just finished beast class - soon she will be able to have fluffy cute beasties in her Vivariums
This is Lily
And those frogs I encountered in a hidden underwater cave - tehy were all just looking at me with big eyes - totally cute

Hogwarts Legacy
Bit of a weird play session today.
First off the hunt for the Daedellion Keys continued...and ended. And as I thought on a bit of a fart noise of disbelief and anti climax. I apparently missed the one in the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower. To add insult to injury it was taunting me because the key was hanging out in the cabinet ready to slap position...it actually occurs to me that it was probably that damn one I lost track of very early on. But yeah, that is what happened.
So got the whole Hogwarts/ High end class robes and they are neat...but gaudy. Yet messing with the transmog after getting more challenges unlocked I think I found my new mix. I think it is the 'Hogwarts Regalia Cloak'. Which was a lot more understated then the more high end gaudy gold robe, so that was there. And it now has a hood.
Next up, the weirdness started. WIth the whole Daedellion Keys out of the way went to catch up and 'relax' with some just out in the OW exploration stuff and get more stuff done. Just that there was kind of a weird seqeuence of the games kind of bailing me out and I think there was some good design but also some weird design. Falling down holes, this is a problem for these types of games, and it can really mess up the flow. Seems Hogwarts Legacy and their devs anticipated this because your character can just transport out of these problems, happened to me like three times and I was half trying to stick Honor down holes to confirm it...which worked out kind of. But then during one of the two new Merlin Trial sequences I found (and man is the whole block puzzle thing a real PIA). But got stuck behind a rock basically and well got permently stuck...but also it was weird because all my controls didn't activate either. Like I couldn't save, access the map, or save or load the game. I almost suspect this was again the devs making it so you couldn't save yourself into oblivion by accident...but also couldn't fast travel out of it which is typically one of the few 'in game' ways to solve said problem.

Yeah I think I'm enjoying my secon dplaythroug hmore than my first. I don' tthin kth echange of hous ethat's done it in my case but moe rthat I'm remembering where everything is and how to get to it from firsttime around. I think also the fact I'm exploring a lo tmore as I play rather than scrambling to do it at the end is contributing a lot to it and me levelling up faster as well given I'm level 21 and onl ydon e1 tria ls ofar. Finding a few more demiguises and field guide pages too than first time around. No tenough t ounloc kthe higher levels o fAlohommorra yet but I'm hoping and think I can with a little more time. I've also managed to figuer ou tthose Arithmetic doors as well now so that's mad ethings easire too. Onl yarea wher I am still struggling a little bit aer the Merlin puzzles bu tI think I can solv eenough to upgrad emy inventor ya littl ebit. Would like to ge tmyself at leas t1 more upgrade s oI can get m yinventor yaround 30 o rat leas t28 as I think eac hupgrade earns 4 slots. As I got the first upgrade but would like another. I think 28 will b eenough thoug hso once I ge tthe nex tupgrade tha tlikel ywill be it. Though if I can ge tmoer I will but I likel ywon't forc emyself too as I don' t think I'll need it. SWTORI completed the storyline for my Consular on Belsavis and pretty much all the Republic content too. Which means I reached level cap. Now I got to save a senator who was kidnapped. Probably by more traitors. I forgot how much Child of the Emperor stuff there was in the 3 chapter of the Consular storyline...when that plot lone surface in the Jedi Knight storyline at the end of their 1st chapter and is like never touched again there...

Horizon Forbidden West
I managed to spend some time on a PS5 so I picked this game to play. Guerilla definitely stepped up on the graphics or the game world. It's beautiful. Unfortunately, I had to use a controller. Even if there is a mouse and keyboard, there's no in-game configuration for it.
Since I know I'm terrible with a controller, I put it on story mode and strong aim assist. I was right to do so since I couldn't control the camera with the right stick during combat. I was all over the place but I struck out blind melees which still land anyway. 🤣 I also had trouble sprinting and swimming; camera and some sections that required Aloy to boost swimming against the current. Mouse and KB are miles better than a controller when it comes to camera control and weapon aiming.
I had a fun couple of hours and then after, the question pop; should I get a PS5. Just to play this game. Is it worth it? Other than this game, there is God of War II which I'm interested in. After that, nothing. Will it be worth it? I remember I bought the first XB years ago. Played LOTR on it and then it became a white elephant such that I gave it away to a friend's son who could make better use of it. Never touched another console again until recently.

Hogwarts LegacySometimes I think a really bad bug is not a really bad bug but me misunderstanding a bit of the gameplay, need to run a few ideas down to see if I can solve it. But regardless right now this whole thing where the stuff you have already done isn't either off the map, like I presumed it was, or marked off. So kind of confusing and challenging on the memory to see 'have I been to this ancient magic spot...sweet I haven't...have I been to this one? oh.' So yeah that was a bit frustrating. And also intended to start off in the RoR but got sucked into more exploration though I did get there eventually. I did finish up Sweeping the Compeition or the next stage of the Imelda quest line. What a delightfully arrogant character, I just love to hate her. And...not sure if I brought it up last time but there is an interesting thing going on where the companion quests don't actually seem to be ending per se. At least some of them. Both Sebastian and Poppy has gotten more actual quest content added beyond their little debrifs on some of it and...I'm loving what they are doing here with the compaion characters. They don't feel as fleshed out as they should be or in comparison to BioWare but compared to most games they really are a good step up and one of the best aspects of the game. Poached EggsThis quest has us returning an egg to a Dragon and checking to make sure she doesen't have one of those Goblin Collars. Poppy is now Hagrid.
What followed was actually one of the coolest, again, moments in the game and bits of story/ gameplay integration. Poppy mentions that we can't fly in order to not draw her attention too early...we don't have access to the brooms...she also mentions we can't provoke her...so later you don't have access to your spells and none of the combat controls work.
This forces you to dodge freaking fireballs from the Dragon.
I did think that this was going to take me awhile to figure out but I did get it only after dying once. But I must say...well the companion stuff and the story in this game remains pretty top notch, compared to MOST games in the industry.

Played LOTR on it and then it became a white elephant such that I gave it away to a friend's son who could make better use of it. Never touched another console again until recently. I'd say probably no unless you want a console in the event you rPC breaks. Consoles can be better if you want to pla ysports games such as Fifa though as games like NHL or NBA generally don't head PC's direction. But in terms of everything else PC tends to have you covered. I would say that if you're only looking at playin gon egame in this case Forbidden West whic hyou know is likely heading PC's way eventually given it's been leaked I'd say that's a dubious decision. I want to play Forbidden West too but I'm not prepared to spend £500 on a PS5 in order to jus tpla ythat I'd want something moer worth while. Especially when I know that it's coming to PC eventually which is my prefered platform and can use mous eand keyboard on it. I waited for Horizon Zero Dawn to come PC's wa yand I'm glad t ohave played it and plan on doing anothe rsoon. So I'm happy to wait till Forbidden West is ready to do the same. TBH my Xbox only really gets to spin it's fans if I happen t obe playing sports games like Fifa really I d ohav eon eo r2 other games lik ea second cop yof Midnight Suns an da second cop yof DAI so I'm covereed and hav ea fwe options if my PC goes down. TBH however unless my PC does go down then I'll likely just stick to my PC copies. G|ranted PCstill hav eto wait a while for the PS games but I don' t think it'll be too long befoer like with Xbox it's day and date. As I think Sony are starting to se ethe ligh tand how the ycan get more mone yfr5om having PC ports of their games. We jus tneed t owait a little longer for them to figure that out. So long as Sony don't try to use the system t omake quick cashgrabs like they did with the Las tof Us Part 1 we'll be fine.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.
