Who loves plants and sneaking into Forbidden sections in their library? Must admit I think my Sabrina did last night when doing tha tquest. My characters jus tdone her Herbology and potions classes. She's just go tword there's a paintimng in her common rooom that wants t otalk to her but she's in Hogsmeade atm emptying her inventor y s oshe ca nge teithe rsomething she might need or like. I suspec tit'll be seeds an or potion recipes given I don't think it'll be long befoer her Room of Requirement is available and she'll need them t oge tstarted. Though if she has any spare cash she may trea therself to a new robe or cape from Gladrag's.

My favorite's in the series are FO1, FO2, and FNV I haven't played 1 and 2. I'd order them (for me) best to least: 4, 3, NV and last 76. I'm enjoying playing 'off the rails' Nora (now level 15). Things have gone even more off the rails after Fort Hagan as suggestions from companions are just a waste of time. Off to be a Raider...

I haven't played 1 and 2. I'd order them (for me) best to least: 4, 3, NV and last 76. The first two Fallout's were isometric turn based games so if you like the newer Bethesda style of Fallout. You may not like the style of the originals. But they are classics the first one was developed by Interplay which had Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky of Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines fame as developers. The second was developed by Black Isle Studios who had Chris Avellone and other famous developers that later went on to form Obsidian. Oh and there's tactical based Fallout called Fallout: Tactics I forgot who developed that.

I've only tried the first one, though I've managed to collect several games in the series. I didn't get far because I got frustrated when bullets to the head didn't kill rats.

Yeah onl yBethesda game I'v ego tinto really was Star Trek Legacy whic had all 5 original Star Trek Captains in it. Though I've never been able t obeat it as it is quite a challenging game. I've tried to ge tinto their other games such as Skyrim and Fallout 4 but the yjust don' tseem t oclick for me too much. I may try again a tsome point given they'er par tof my library but tbh it6's one o fthe main reasons why I'm no ttha texcited for Starfield like some others are.

I lik emaking a nuisance of myself a tthe bandi tcamps the goblins and poachres set up anyway. I'm focusing more on sidequests this tim etoo so I can leve lup faste rtoo. As that'll make getting from the fight with Ranrok to the Hous cup a lot easier. Did flying class las tnight so nI can go get myself a broom now that's my next task. I don't plan on diong the broom racing quests as I've found them a bit annoying. I prefer jus tusin gthe broom t oget from point A t opoint B a bit quicke rthan walking. I may do the pop the balloons stuff though given that'll help boost XP

Soooooo ugh. I always feel weird talking about future game plans but its come up a couple of times and by me so been doing a lot of musing on that subject and once more there is a lot I want to do but there is so much uncertainty on when certain games (plural there) are coming out or going to be discounted that don't know what I am going to have time for. And the other maddening thing is there are major pros and cons to doing each of the three games on this list. For Hockey it would be the easiest to drop if something new came out for me or a game went on sale, but I tend to be a rage monkey. Jedi Fallen Order, despite all the weird gameplay stuff I'm concerned about has no real downside and I get the impression is its kind of a shorter game so no real downside per se. And Vahalla well I did want to do a second PT of that game but it is just soooooo loooonnnnng especially since they never did New Game + on it so I am kind of going to have to just do a pretty deep playthrough on it again. And it is attractive because I think I can do a Vahalla then GoW playthrough before new potential games drop for me so that works...if each game takes me 2 months. But the way I play games if I don't find a way to really cut down Vahalla it could take me more then that. Like really want to play Vahalla but Fallen Order is really attractive because of the length to. Granted maybe by the time I do finish HL this hand wringing will become mute because clarity on certain issues should be provided. NHL 23So yeah despite this got an itch so started a Hockey season with the Bruins. Again easy to stop so somehow doubt I will be continuing, seriously down to JFO and Vahalla at this point I think. But, in the end I have an itch. And kind of interesting to because well started off a season with the Bruins at first, lost the first two games, and then I was curious about something so I simmed through the season to see if my pet theory was correct...and it was. If you choose season then you get to play through only that one season not anymore. So another reason why franchise is superior. So started over with the Bruins in franchise mode and I am now...9-1 on the same difficulty settings. Funnest thing I did was I scored a goal with Pastrnak against the Blue Jackets in the very Pasta way. Bergeron dropped the puck to him in the top of the left face off circle, fired off a slap shot rocket that scored. Granted wasn't a one timer...but still. Only game I lost was a maddening 3-1 affair to the Panthers, won two games in OT, Pasta scored the game winner in the first one and then Bergeron scored a shootout goal on the next one where he pulled off an amazing move, that I sort of planned. He went one way, his stick went the other and he put it into the right side of the net...or left. Bertuzzi got a hat trick, Pasta and him lead the team with 6 goals a piece. Ulmark has kind of been struggling. Fun times though. Ghost Recon BreakpointMore time on Auroa with wifey. Cool stuff turns into a nightmare. First up we tried going after Rosebud...Walker's Wolf sniper. With a lot of snipers around her. Was supposed to be fun but was detected by a car that rolled up on me, detected me, and then started in a fun fight. Bit of a theme overall last night but this forces us to really audible. But in the end we split up, she went high to ovrerwatch and got Rosebud and I went low to release the Outcast prisoners to give us more cover, and it sort of worked. Then went off to the Skell College campus which is one of my favorite sniping maps in the game again...but hard to remember exactly how one is to pull that off. And then not only was their a story mission we had to do there but at the same time there was another ELITE faction mission. God that is so annoying when that happens. But essentially we got up on top of one of the buildings on the campus and were quickly discovered which resulted in a very long extended fire fight, probably the longest of the play session. But we kept the pressure up and wifey bottle necked them below us while I took pot shots at drones and targets when I could despite being really pinned. Final bit wife got POed because our objective on top of a giant ass mountain with no real way up there minus helo. So it took us like three times to even get up there, then we got kind of shot down, but I died in the seat. Wifey couldn't respawn me so I respawned all the way DOWN the mountain with no real way up so she had to clear out the entire base by herself...but she did. I swear she is better at games then me. HL legacy The hunt for the Daedelions continued. I gave in and started looking at a guide but so far that is not helping me either. One of the things, well two of the things that inspired my Hockey kick I think. And then I did another what I think are going to be wrap up quests for the companion stuff. Maybe. Probably. But Nattie and Sebastian though since Seb ties into the main plot we got a 'to be determined'. I must say the side stuff in this game are ass but they did hit the companion content mostly on the head.

Cyberpunk 2077 - RT Overdrive mode
Been playing the new RT tech showcase for a few hours yesterday. Why have a 4090 and not make it work for it, amirite?
The Good:
- Some may recall I said the difference between Psycho RT and no RT in the game is often minimal, unless you go look for it specifically and find the cherry picked zones where it's very obvious. Well, not the case with Path Tracing. It is very obvious, even compared to the "normal" Psycho RT setting.
- It transforms the city a lot, especially during the night. It is more gritty, atmospheric, even gothic to a degree. The noir aesthetic jumps up at the front. The sky looks much better too. I used to prefer roaming during the day, but now I almost exclusively ran around at night time.
- The reflections are absolutely insane now. Insane! You can see the reflections in people's glasses and (hold on to your seats) on their gonking cellphones! I may or may not have spent an undisclosed amount of time staring at water.
The Bad:
- It has certain range limits. Your distance to buildings affects their lighting and it gets more noticeable how some get darker/brighter when you move to or away from them.
- Some scenes were not made with this mode in mind and it's obvious that the lack of baked lighting creates weird looking images. Characters standing in too much shadow, too dark rooms, etc.
- Some conflicts occur on occasion when a surface gets hit by too many light sources and it starts to flicker.
- It's damn heavy Surprise, surprise. But at 1440p and a 4090 with Frame Generation and DLSS Quality it runs comfortably over 100 FPS, closer to 115 average. Lowest drops were at around 80 FPS in the most crowded street areas in the game. At 4k with Frame Generation and DLSS Quality I saw drops as low as 50, but overall the average was around 75 FPS. With DLSS Balanced it got much more playable and kept above 60 FPS at all times, sticking around 85 average.
In conclusion - it looks niiiiiiice Gonna be finishing my current run with this baby on. And I think I will get the incoming DLC too. Until now I wasn't certain if I want to pay again for CP2077 content.

SWTOR
After leaving the freezing waste of Hoth (that my Consular described as picturesque to Felix somehow), I finished my Chapter 2...and the Empire broke the peace treaty and went on the offensive!!!!
Also, there are traitors everywhere. There was even one on my ship! My ship with too few space for all the people on it. How has nobody realized he was doing funny things? Outside Nadia, who somehow decided to take stuff apart and discovered a spy bug once, but that's just youth you know.
Now I need to find a secret imprisoned army of the Rataka, because building more forces for the Republic is more important than hunting down traitors. Master Syo, you are making some strange decisions. Also, the coordinates to its location are lost, I have to back to Hoth to find the hint left behind. Why Hoth? Because apparently it's the best place to hide shit in frozen caves for millennia. Just ask the Sith Inquisitor.
Also, if the Rataka imprisoned them, doesn't that mean they are a problem?

That's why we probably park all those "seasonal" companions at every available nook and cranny of the ship. We offer no privacy anymore!!!

Ghost Recon Breakpoint
So we are back to the whole 'one bad session one awesome session' thing. So took us a little bit to find and get to the under water cable station which we then had to clear upwards. Somehow wifey found a little outcropping in the edge of the map which gave her a good eye for a sniper fire. So we did that and then worked our way up the stairs, then crawled our way under the trip wires, little clearing here, no real trouble on that bit.
Then we got to the Christina Cromwell part 2...which was funny because one of the most annoying bits of the game sicne it sends you right back at the campus, whose enemies respawned. But they did put her in a somewhat isolated part of the map so just had a little clearing to get to her the first time. But then had a lot of Wolves show up on us. But I decided to put down mines so there was little issue, then the next waves, not really a lot of issues between us and them. Things did get a little hairy that the explosions and fire fight did attract the attention of the rest of the base so during the cutscene they snuck up on us and there was like 5 regular soldiers in our vacinity. More fire fight drawing more attention, as we tried to get to the helicopter which was our extract vehicle from across the water automatic fire came in. I went prone and lay down fire as best as I could against them as wifey began prepping the helicopter and flicking switches getting the engines going. Realize in hind sight kind of did this wrong but then I had to break down and board her it was a close call because then had to wait for Christina...but we did it.
Final base we cleared was to get Christina's team safe. Hostage situation which took my new weapon, the MSR, to good practice. This time I was the one who set up. Wifey is getting more confident on the synch shot drones and wanted to use one on the sniper but I'm like 'I'm right here I can shoot him now' so we put as much drones as we could and put a hole in the base before we moved on to secure the hostages. Gotta get used to my new weapon.

Yeah sports games in general are the easiest to pick up and drop. That's kind of why if I'm busy doing somethin gelse on a particular day like IRL stuf gets in the way o rI'm downloading something then I turn to games like Fifa as it's generally easy and quick. Plus in betewen matches I can keep an eye on the download to se ehow it's progressing. I'm not playing Fifa today but I probably will in due course again soon. Most likely when I wsitch out Forspoken for the Lego Skywalker game. Thankfully in m ycase othe rthan the Star Trek Resurgence gam ethere's no tanything I'm particularl yafter which is why I'm shifting my focus moer on m ycomfort games atm. Mainl ybecause it's been a while since I last gave them a proper playthrough, Dragon Age in particular because whilst I hav edone a couple o fDAI playthroughs and have one on the go I don't think I've touched Origins or 2 in over a year so I think I owe it to myself to at least do one playthrough this year especially if Dreadwolf is comin gbefore years end. I'm not asying it is coming because I'm jus ta smuch imn the dark as everyone else there. I'm just asying m ybrain could probabl yuse a tleast a story refresher in the event it does. It's one of the main reasons why Ichose to return to m ycomfort games ewl l tha tand the fac tthere's not much in the way of nwe games I'm after now. Hogwarts LegacyDone the firs ttrial s oback in Autumn. Will stick wit hthe gam etoda ys oI can get the remaining daedalian keys a sI think I onl yhave 5moe rt ocollect 2 o fthem behind a locked doo rwhich shortly I'll be able t oopen given I'v epicked up the Alhommorra quest s oatm I'm thinking do those and ge tSabrina he rHufflepuff outfit. I' ma little loathed t od othis but given I need mone yt obyu what I need I might use the nab sack when I unlock it to grab som extra animals and sell them on a ttha tanima lstore. I'll stil get my animals for my vivariums. It's just I need more money for the seeds and potions I need for m yassignments as I'm trying t ogrow and brew all m ypotions this playthrough. Mostly because I'm trying to prove I'm a good Hufflepuff hard workin gand loyal t omy friends and studies. Not someon ewh otakes shortcuts too much or at least my Sabrina is. I think she'll look forward to meetin ghe rfellow Huflepuff Poppy though. I think I did see her in the Hufflepuff common room earlie rin the playthrough though no indicators to speak to her then. Though I d ohav eBeast class in m yjourna ls owil lprobably do that and meet her today as well. As I need t omove the main story on a bi ts oI can ge tthe nab sack and hopefully some money. After that I can ge tthe remaining recipes an dseeds an dsuch I need and start really taking m yfight to Ranrok.

I've finally uploaded my FO4 Westworld settlement. It was an ordeal. So many things went wrong. The video didn't render correctly and then I remembered that I had issues with the updated version of Shotcut before and shouldn't use it. The old version is the one still pinned to the taskbar while loading a project directly from any folder loads it in the new version. But the project didn't load correctly in the old version I normally use. So I had to create the whole thing again from scratch which cost me about 4h. I planned to upload it on Easter Sunday. Was done after midnight on Easter Monday. But then I botched the planned publication, setting it not two hours in the future but two days. So when I checked my channel in Tuesday morning I realized it's not live yet. Grrrr. I also noticed too late that I forgot to boost the volume on one audio clip but wasn't going to wait another 90min for the fixed version to render! Good grief, most stressful video upload ever. I almost cried. >_< But at least I like how it turned out: Before I'd been playing a bunch of shorter indie games that I enjoyed: 1. Kena Bridge Of Spirits- OMG so beautiful!!! But the combat kicked my ass, did not expect that. I could do normal enemies on normal difficulty, bosses I had to knock it down to easy most of the time and the final boss I had to put to story mode and still died 3 times. Mortifying... 2. A Juggler's Tale- Very short, 2h. Starts out like a game for children and then gets kinda creepy with hanged corpses and psychotic villains. Gameplay was OK, art style not as great as I thought. Overall a game I could have skipped, not bad. But nothing special either. 3. Pentiment- The art style almost put me off buying it but decided to give it a shot anyway because Obsidian writer. Glad I did. Fantastic game! And I started to appreciate the art style eventually. Surprisingly long. Almost did a second playthrough to see what changes when different people die. But then decided to play something else instead. 4. The Sinking City- Finally bought it! Great atmosphere and narrative but reviews did not lie about the gameplay. It's honestly atrocious. It's not only janky like most AA gamey but super annoying with the backtracking. Combat is god awful. I still enjoyed it a lot and it took me more than 30h to complete every single quest. But this is a 8/10 narrative with 4/10 gameplay at best. Open world was a mistake for this game imo. It doesn't really add anything. 5. Unforseen Incidents- I've had this game in my backlog for years. Never got round to it. Turns out it's one of the most fun point and click adventures I've ever played. I liked the dorky humor. I did not realize it would cause COVID flashbacks, lol. Had no idea what the story was about. I did have to use a guide, as usual because it's not clear who you have to talk to (again) to progress the story. But I guess the puzzles aren't as unfair as in some other games. Little gem of a game imo. Currently playing Uncharted for the first time on PS4, lol. I enjoy the cutscenes but the gameplay is pretty annoying and boring to me. After about 50 bad guys in the jungle I wanted it to end. I put it to story mode to get through it quicker. Game's from 2007 so maybe that's why it's so basic. But I prefer Mass Effect 1's clunky combat to the boring ass shootouts in Uncharted. I hope things improve with the sequels... I felt the same way about Tomb Raider Underworld, the only original Tomb Raider I played and never finished. It was just so boring. At least Uncharted has banter sometimes. Maybe these types of games aren't for me. Then again I enjoyed the Tomb Raider reboot a lot. Aaand then I never finished the sequel again. Mixed bag for me than genre, it seems.

Hogwarts Legacy
I started a new playthrough as a Slytherin. I'm not finished with my Hufflepuff, but I wanted to see the Slytherin specific quest. Wasn't that special, but now I really like my Slytherin - she is btw a very nice and helpful character. Her name is Lily Juniper. She is now right before the first trial.

Yeah that's my plan for after my Hufflepuff. Play my first male character who'll be a Slytherin who's not afraid of the unforgivables. But then I'm thinking of a female Griffindor who will use them too. But I'm sticking with my Sabrina atm. 20230412195146_1 by Steven Sharp, on Flickr

Like a Dragon: Ishin! Finished my run today. Was pretty much checked out on the last three chapters so they were kinda rushed on my part. Not that I was disliking the game, just something shut off. Did decide to push through it though and glad I did because the chapters were pretty neat. Could see myself replaying in the future and having a blast. Don't know if I'll bump up the difficulty though since the fights on normal were kind of a drag and shudder to think if there was more health going around.
Did finish the Haruka side story as well because she is a treat. Think I was 3 substories from completing the substories and meeting Amon and not sure if I want to go and track them down or not. Then had like years worth of blacksmithing to do which is a solid nope. Did find the karaoke duets though, so that was very neat.
All in all had a fairly grand time. Even if it was kinda weird. So just need to find what to do next I guess.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.
