So I have missed Kassandra terribly so downloaded AC Odyssey yesterday and squeezed in about 45 minutes. She's just such a great protagonist. Did little, accidentally started a new game not and NG+ one so did the first part with Leonidas because it's interesting and wanted to practice the combat. Then started NG++++ and for the first time killed the idiots that attack her at the start, spoke to Phoibe, cleared an underwater site, actually two and practiced climbing and shooting my bow for a bit. Grumpy old Leonidas, I had forgotten that in the beginning he says he would have liked to have gone fishing with his son and that you can do that in the DLC with him. Kassandra the beginning Phoibe and Ikaros

Thanks for play testing this for me, no way I am playing it now. It could have the best story, graphics, combat and everything else but those wall running etc. gameplay mechanics and the ice sliding and the getting turned around maps. BIG NO from me, I'd end up throwing my PC through the window. I am actually getting better at it, having done it so many times, and so many more times due to fails. Also lots of backtracking!
Just finished for the day but gotta go to bed so I'll try to write something up tomorrow. Hopefully by then I'll be able to remember what I did!

Ni No Kuni 2
This game tries to do a little bit of everything. There's kingdom building and military battles. It's all very basic and I'm not sure it's something I wanted but it's a chill game so far so I don't mind. Just funny how I knew NOTHING of the game and what the gameplay is actually like, lol. In my defense, the game was a gift. I expected a movie like experience with old school turn based. And it's nothing like that. There are a ton of game mechanics.
Side quests so far are all about recruiting people for your new kingdom so you can put them to work in shops. The game is all about building the kingdom and running errands for people so they help you with that. No epic story or anything so far.
I play on the lowest difficulty,so I assume on higher difficult the game is not that basic. But I can't be bothered with a challenge. I'm fine brute forcing encounters. There was this fire dragon I was supposed to get a water spell to beat. I forgot about that and then the encounter triggered and I thought I was gonna die instantly. But I didn't and actually killed it. Just took longer. But was doable. At some point I might actually have to prepare for certain boss fights.
I've played about 12h now. No idea how far into the story I am. Internet says it takes between 40 and 80h to beat. So no idea how long it will take me. Many world map encounter are forced on you so the game is 80% combat which is way too much for my liking and just busywork. But it looks like some level grind is required. I had a few story fights already I felt a little underleveled for. I haven't died yet though so all good.
Playing this game while the sun shines through my open skylight window was super relaxing yesterday. TV sits directly below the window though so I have to wear a hat for the glare, lol. Totally different feel than the claustrophobic PC gaming I do in a dark corner of my bedroom. Haha.

Just to do the blue/green quests, and a couple I took where already expired??? Why don't they take them off the board if they have expired? I couldn't remember what stage of the game this Kassandra was at. She hadn't uncovered all of the map yet, so I couldn't fast travel after the mercenary.

Contrary to expectations, Cal is still missing one ability. Some of the power devices require a power node and it seems only BD can provide. I have not encountered any event that gives BD this ability so some areas are still in accessible. Most annoying.
Grapple has been upgraded to latch on at a greater distance. Cal can now latch onto floating balloons, perch on them for a while and then propel himself in the direction he should go. This means that now, the player has to use long grapple, wall running, dash, etc. The long grapple isn't so bad actually. It's kind of fun to launch yourself into the air like a rocket. 😄
I found I have to bind the ctrl key to jump ability because the spacebar isn't cutting it. It's very awkward because I'm using the right hand for the KB, left for the mouse. This means I have to twist my right hand since I have to press WSAD for directional and hit spacebar when necessary to jump. Using the ctrl key means my right hand is resting normally instead of being twisted.
That means I have to rebind the focus key. I chose C and I think it's better this way. C+F to lift, C+spacebar to pull down. I'm thinking C+V would be better for pull down.
Cal has faced off against Rayvis and learned his back story. Onward to the laboratory.

Jedi Survivor:
Me thoroughly combing through an area, looking at every possible nook and cranny...
The map: 70% explored, 6 out of 13 collectibles found.
Well, screw you too... 😆
Crappy performance aside, this game rocks. It's way better than Fallen Order in every way. While JFO was a mix of a Souls game and Tomb Raider, Jedi Survivor is way less Souls and closer to a Horizon Zero Dawn type. Exploration, side quests, story, stunning vistas, etc.
While I would recommend Fallen Order only to Star Wars and Souls fans, Survivor would be my recommendation for every Assassin Creed/Horizon/Story game fan. But only when they fix the performance.

Jedi Survivor
BD's last skill to learn is Electro Dart which is to get mechanism to work for a while. I think that's about it. The last skill to unblock obstacles locked by an electrical device.
Went to the High Republic laboratory to face off a boss. The way there is hairy and very very high in the sky. Higher than Merrin's flight sequence. She's not the companion for this event so Cal has to grab balloons, throw them into positions, jump dash to them and on to the platforms that go higher and higher.
It's a stupid convoluted way to get to the buildings in the clouds. Bode flew there in a fighter. Why can't Cal take a co-pilot seat?
Died several times of course. There're also one or two frustrating pathways. The ones with rotating handholds and you have to keep moving and also avoid electrical waves.
Completed all seven High Republic Chambers. The seventh was hidden so I had to refer to a YT vid for the location. The reward is to get a map revealing the location of all upgrade chests.
Saved the surviving droid of some prospectors who were killed by Raiders. It returned to Rambler's Settlement, where Paloon's Saloon is, and opened its former master's house for Cal to get a chest as a reward.
Came across many echoes of Prospectors' experiences. A pair of them wanted to climb to the highest point. One didn't make it along the way. The other I found at the highest ridge, dead. Not sure how she died. Her corpse looked frozen so perhaps she made it but died from lack of supplies after the journey. 😔 Her last memory was happiness at having achieved her goal and her wish her friend / companion was with her.
Recruited a gardener for the saloon and invited in Jawas for the settlement.
I'm having a bad feeling about one of the companions. At the start, I thought he looks promising but then one of his early conversations sparked a warning. Cal didn't ask him any personal questions. He dropped one out of the blue that's non sequiter to the conversation, imo. I was thinking; why did you do that?
His reactions after the laboratory event increased that unease. I hope I'm wrong but he could turn out to be bad cheese. I like this character but he's sparking off alarms. Will see if I'm right.

So I have missed Kassandra terribly so downloaded AC Odyssey yesterday
Now, don't get too excited but I may be ready to finally start that game after I'm done with JFO.
As for that....trying to remember where I resumed yesterday....oh yeah, looking for the wookiee chieftain. Getting there was fun. There are plants in the Shadowlands that act as trampolines so Cal got to literally bounce around the forest undergrowth. When he finally found the chief, he was given a breather and advised to climb the Origin Tree to seek wisdom, the route to which began underwater. Go down to go up. Yeah, ok. At least I could see underwater so found the right path fairly quickly. Then started up. And up and up and up. Did I mention this was a giant tree? Finally up high enough and encountered a GIANT BIRD that was going beak to nose against an imperial ship. The bird was injured so Cal and BD helped it out, and it then gave them a lift to the top of the tree. Up there Cal found another Zeffo monument and another hologram triggered. Just as they were getting ready to go back down via bird-back, the ship attacked again, spitting out a rather large and imposing Ninth Sister, some alien ogre-looking lady. They fought and Cal finally bested her (did not see her dead body so she might reappear) and then the bird came back to return them to the lower reaches.
Back to the ship and it was time to set course for Dathomir, home of the Nightsisters. Yeah, not a creepy name for them at all. A lot of weird shit happened here, some of which I'm not quite clear on as I spent most of the time sliding down (and down and down) and climbing back up. Came across a shifty hermit, a horde of Nightbrothers, several undead Sisters, and one remaining live one, and fought, rode, and defeated a giant bat-like creature called Gorgara. This was a tough fight that I had to do twice as it killed me the first time. I spent most of the fight running away. No idea how I would beat it on harder than story mode. Afterwards Cal salvaged some new climbing gloves so he could scale the rock walls here (and ice walls later on).
After getting back to where he met the shifty hermit, right in front of the temple entrance, he was able to get inside but not all the way in. Instead, he was tested (like the cave for Luke) and failed. The flashback here was frustrating as I couldn't figure out how to reach Master whosit, so I considered myself a failed Padawan too. In his vision he faced his old master who blamed Cal for his death and destroyed his lightsaber. After emerging from the temple, the shifty hermit revealed himself as a former Jedi and tried to recruit Cal to his cause, which seemed to be power for its own sake. Before Cal could firmly refuse, they were interrupted by the lone living Nightsister who decided to raise all her dead sisters to send after them. Cal hightailed it back to the ship (no lightsaber to fight with) and they made a quick escape.
Cere told Cal the rest of what happened to her and urged him to begin again, at the beginning, and forge a new lightsaber. They went to Ilum, the location of a Jedi temple. I miffed this up good because I had to restart the area a few times (mechanics issues which I later figured out) and thought I'd "get it on the way out" for a few things I didn't want to redo over and over. That plan didn't work because somehow the Empire was deep in the caves once Cal found what he needed and he was once again forced to run for it to escape. Anyway, Cere brought him here to find a new crystal to fashion his lightsaber. So much climbing and running and swinging and all that stuff. Finally found the crystal though and just as he grabbed it - it broke in half. About to fall into despair, BD-1 came to his rescue. He forged a new lightsaber that (I don't know how yet) can be split into 2, so he can dual-wield just like all my Revans and Exiles did.
Next stop will be back to Dathomir. Hopefully that sister is a little more friendly this time, though I doubt it.
You know what this game really needs? Fast travel points!!!!!!

Jedi Survivor The stakes have gone up. So other than jumping up to the skies, there's the landspeeder chase. No shooting on it, simply chase after the target and avoid the boulders on the path. If you can. 😁 Huge Bode is a traitor. Also lost some people. Damn it!!
Went against the biggest boss. I was not expecting to do any damage but surprise, I did do damage but the Force has a different plan so I didn't kill him. Now on the chase after someone. Cal is in disguise as an Imperial officer. BD has to hide now and then otherwise Cal's ID would be in question.

Jedi Survivor Finished the game. At the last, I really want Force Grip. I want to crush the neck of any mob who's unfortunate enough to be pulled and held. Seriously Cal needs it because his dark side came into play. I have to settle for slicing the **** out of the Imperial troopers with them screaming; We can't stop him!! None of the Imperial Droids could stand against him either. If there's a third installment, there has to be Force Grip as a power to learn. Story is good. At the last, Cal is hopeful, yet afraid because his dark side has shown itself. If there is a third game, it'll be interesting to see his internal struggle. I don't want a lousy ending either now that Merrin is with him. They're a pair. 😄 Yay! I didn't bother to slap any of the beards on Cal. He's still young so I had him grow a short beard. I don't want him to look nerdy or scruffy either so his original hairstyle remained. He looks better that way. Didn't care for the other clothing nor the point of dressing him in Jedi raiment. He looks neat in this get up. It looks ordinary and he blends in with the crowd. That's what he's supposed to do, blend in and not stick out like a sore thumb. The game devs are learning. NG+ is included. I think Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok launched with NG+ too.

I have done a Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff as they were my first 2 .This is my 3rd but my first as a Gryffindor. Oh right, no problem with that and ai hope you get that quest eventually. Yeah it's the exclusive to PS quest that Sony paid them to do. I think it's exclusive for a year or something though the rest of us should get it later.

Finished the beta (?) of My Time at Sandrock. For like the 3rd time. Really enjoying this game. It's sort of a builder sim game. You got a town, and you're a "builder" gathering ressources, and building stuff. There's a whole story, and it's pretty funny. I used to play my Time at Portia, the game before that one, and I'm impressed because the dev managed to improved everything. Gameplay, visuals, story, characters etc..

GW2My Charr is now a Centurion and helping the Order of Tyria deal with some Risens because a former warbandmate wore a magical amulet (the guy didn't even stay in his tomb). I was expecting Branded for the Charr story, but nope Risens and that means the Norns are the only ones who don't deal with them until Claw Island. It's also weird that it's Risens in Snowden Drifts map which is full of Icebroods. I feel Charr got a bit of the short end of the stick there. Not that it's not a fun storyline. They probably have the 3 best Order members in that plot line of all the races too. And now I need to decide which Order to join. I think I'm going Vigil, since I'm a Blood Legion Charr like its creator. Finished the beta (?) of My Time at Sandrock. For like the 3rd time. Really enjoying this game. More like Early Access instead of beta. I haven't checked in a while the roadmap thought to see if they are done with the features. And yes, it's a improvement over My Time at Portia.

Game should release this Summer, I'm not sure how they will pull it off exactly. Second act is pretty much finished, next update in late May/June...but some stuff are still missing. Lot of voicelines missing in recent new quests etc..marriage is in but barebone, no kids. I expect they will keep on updating after the official release.
