Do you actually need to go into the mine to complete the cultist quest, you can just kill him if you want the quest is a choice one just so Sokrates can ask you a question but it otherwise meaningless from memory, I just killed the cultist this time through.
Cleared out the fort, stole lots of loot, set myself on fire a couple of times, and then went back to town to see all the new quest icons that popped up. I cannot tell you how many times a game play session in Odyssey I set myself on fire!!!!!

Anyone have trouble with the EA App automatically launching a game when you have just shut it down. I keep exiting MEA to the desktop but 1 out of every two times the EA App launches the game straight away.

Nuts, a visual novel
Nope. There is no ending where the MC doesn't inadvertently murder the secretly a government experiment -'dating show' rejects. I think the darkest part was when the Peanut Hybrid Human gave the Squirrel Human hybrid the medicine that would allow the latter to eat him. I liked Ackerman, but there was no resolution to keep the government from ever repeating all this. It was free, they had fun making it, but I do not recommend.

So GTA V popped up on Game Pass. This happened once before and I remember playing for only a few minutes. My bad feeling started almost immediately when I have to headshot this guard. I could totally wing his arm (and tried) but the game insists. I realise it's supposed to be an awesome game. But what possible incentive is there for playing as this roster of assholes?

The Villainess Just Wants To Eat: Demo Another Isekai, it's hard to tell if this will be good or not. There is nothing wrong with what is there, there is just not enough there for me to tell if it's going to be good. 20 minute demo that gives you a sense of the art and the quality of the partial voice acting.
How Not to Become a Queen: Demo This was great. Sometimes intrigue of the court feels tedious but the author hit the right balance and made MC's intelligence shine through with every choice. I like the art and even the background music is pleasant.
Villainess Idolized by Everyone: 25 minutes from start to finish. It was unique and the art was pretty. I'm surprised it didn't want to be more, with the premise. I've only ever played one other VN where the player is the voice inside MC's head. it's not actually a romance either because MC is already sort of with everyone? Okay.

Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is on sale at Steam. It has mixed reviews. DO you think the game is worth purchasing? Reading dazk and melbella playthrough of Odyssey makes me want to try it. I am a big fan of classical history and I did play a bit and enjoyed AC: Origins. Timeline wise Odyssey takes place before Origins. Anyway is Valhalla worth the discount? Well worth it actually. Even at full price it is enough of a time sink to justify it and its gameplay and story is pretty good by and large. The side quests/ content and RP are a very mixed bag however. Speaking of which. ACVContinuing to dive into the Wrath of the Druids and the more of the goings on. Got to one of my favorite parts of the DLC and pretty much the only thing, aside from the ending, that I remember about this DLC. Basically after more award RP moments in the previous chapter we get to here and Bairid is playing drunk in order to get information and get a message to Eivor. Eivor uses it to stage a bit of a great escape in the ring fort which has some more prisoners which were other envoy's of Flann. I did do a couple of nice shots including one right across the ring fort at the other end. And some more little assassinations here and there all the way through the fort. Then after setting said people free we used the opprotunity to take the enemy town from the inside out. But it was a little weird when, later on, went back to said town kind of by accident and it was back to being a 'Distrust Area' despite the fact that we took it. From there though more good stuff. Flann, trusting of Christian abbots more then 'Pagans,' and thinking that a Abbot wouldn't lead men into battle, was blind sided by Abbot Eogan who attacked his main camp. After heavy fighting we managed to drive him back but it cost us Bairid dead which also makes his son King of Dublin. And to wrap up more annoyance with the Children of Danu and the hard menu. Though in this case I guess I had trouble appreciating how *big* Ulster was so it took me a hot minute to orient my bearings so I could go there. Eventually did find, and sack the Abbey. Which is also to say again Ubisoft's habit of unifying all of its game concepts rears its...head.

dazk Thank you for the video. Due to the response to my question I bought the game. Don't know when I'll play it. Last night I installed Odyssey because that's the only way I continue my AC3 Remastered playthrough. Seeing as how Odyssey is so radically different from the older AC games. I was thinking of playing both AC games simultaneously. But that's after ME3, MEA, and Marvel's Midnight Suns. Yeah I still have to play Oddysey at some point but that'll b eafter I'm done with m ycomfort games. Don' t know when I'll be don ewith my comfort games though as I'm not really ruling out doing moer than 1 run of each game atm. Also I don't have enough space for Oddysey on my system atm anyway. Atm I think I'll probabl ywait until after I'm done with my F1 games as I want to do at least a couple of seasons on them.Likel ygoing t ob eFifa for the forseeable future though as I'm mostl yin the mood for that.Plus I'm keeping an ear t othe groun dfo rdetails on the EA sports FC game as theyre releasing details about that next ewek plus I think the Beta will be coming soon for it as well from what I heard.Don't know if I'll be asked to beta test again like I was last year but if I am then I'll happily do so as I enjoyed my Beta testing of Fifa 23 even if it did disrupt my Spiderman plans.I think I'd always give it a try as I've always enjoyed EA's Fifa games But yeah plan to come back t oMidnight Suns and play ME3 and MEA again as well eventually.

Yeah I've not had too many problems with the app. I don't think it runs as well as Origin did though tbh. But I've managed t okeep my interactions with it to a minimum given th egames I play mos tare already installed. So I haven' t really had to do too much messing about with it. Don't kno w why they dropped Origin tbh but still.

GW2I managed to do two of the episodes of LS2 with my Necro Kitty. I even got an achievement out of it. I failed another achievement, but that wasn't my fault if an NPC died before I could reach him. And about 3 weeks until BG3 release.

Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: I finished the main game, and it automatically moves onto one of the DLC's. I'm playing on story mode (or whatever the easiest is called) but the game takes a massive difficulty jump. Your enemies get a 100% HP boost (more than double your players) and your players take a massive hit to their physical & magical resistance, that they spent the whole game building up. Add to that, the game ignores the stats and put it down to bad luck! Your opponent with a dodge penalty and 5% dodge chance, dodges two consecutive attacks. While your Elf with 100% dodge chance, fails to dodge and gets hit? Why even have the stats, if the game is going to completely ignore them? The base game was fun for a while, but the humor and time padding can get a bit old.

Long Since the Eschaton
Oh this was so sweet. Just under two hours, voice acting is solid. I related to the frequent alarm the main character, an ex medical student, had about activities in a post apocalyptic world. The artwork for laying side by side and the non spicy affection was appreciated and Gabe was downright gorgeous. Demisexual representation was lovely. I also liked that there was more to the bad ends then just, "yer dead."
Duskbound
45 minutes. Only two characters. It's almost like they're both yanderes, not just the vampire due, because it plays the soul mate/ fate bound card so hard.
I actually liked the ending where she bit him to turn herself, but that's short term satisfaction. What's to keep them from literally going insane 100 cycles more? And I was actually a bit sad on the bad ending where he turned to ash. If it'd been elaborated on more, I might have even teared up. It was giving me "interview with a vampire" flashbacks for sure. The "Let's Fight Fate" haha I wasn't feeling optimistic they'd succeed. But I love the kinda fourth wall breaking meta memory thing.

ACV
Finished Wrath of the Druids.
Stayed on the track of the Seed and the other Children of Danu in the area. But first needed to hunt down the Deer. Tracked down the Deer to a little base off of this one city, (being precise again) decided to go in a little on the loud side and to my surprise as I got through killing everyone the guy in question bolted and was able to run like 100 meters away. I tore off after him and was able to get him killed in the open.
Then off to the next bit with the Seed himself. Another fort, guy looked like a bit of a Viking there. Was doing a good job getting some stealth in as I was trying to clear towards the center and get the guy in the open. But of course couldn't quite manage it (can't wait for Mirage) and this resulted in me having to go loud. Keeping in mind the last time I leapt down just in front of the guy and engaged him in hand to hand combat with the Seer since he decided to stand and fight. Yet it worked out all for the best as he and his guards weren't that much of a problem for Eivor and what he was doing.
So yeah actually on that to got more great archery in, though it was a little bit of hit and miss as I was hitting one head shot after another at times only to miss at others. Usual fair really. But what wasn't usual is I actually did my first missile reversal...the day after saying I hadn't. Well recently. It was also a complete accident as I was closing in on a soldier in order to slice him with the Sorcerer's sword but Eivor plucked the projectile out of the air to throw it back at the opponent.
Abbot Eogan is a bit of an odd case in a series of oddities. The way he was talking the man sounded like a genuine Christian Abbot...even though he was also the head of the Druidic Child of Danu Cult. Which he did expose Ciara as part of the cult to, at least at one point, which didn't really phase Flann per se, but his council didn't like the idea that the cultists could be in almost any court if they managed to infiltrate the Priesthood. Thing is it might've been more managable had we gotten the option to tell Flann before this, might've had more time to consider the situation. But he was rushed into it and partially forced into it which pissed Ciara off. Kind of surprised even Schifrith agreed to the Inquisition plan, but then again from my looking into history the Vikings kind of were more friendlier to Christianity then not...eventually. So Ciara ends up doing what the Children want her to do, and Eivor goes to stop her. Tough boss fight through many ways but I did have to love the final finishing animations. I think in the end again did the most consistent thing with the character but this playthrough has been plagued with 'am I doing the correct RP choice or just the opposite of my last PT'. I think overall I have but it does beg an answer. And well in this case I still remember that since this Eivor has been a little bit more murder happy then my last one, which I think sparred Ciara because it wasn't her fault, he is a little less likely to give her a choice.
Still given that this DLC is weak when it comes to the RP choices overall I suppose its a moot point. Kind of left a dangling plot thread because Flann did go back on his plan for an Inquisition as well which makes the whole thing seem a bit pointless. I kind of agree with his reasoning because a ruler sometimes has to answer to those he rules and pretty much all of his council was for the idea. Also this begs questions for the long term religious health of the island to and what its ultimate fate will be.

More Odyssey
Explored more of Keos and did a few side quests for Xenia - ship sinking and brother rescuing in particular. Back on the ship picked up a quest for Barnabas to look for his (supposedly) dead wife Leda. First stop was Circe's island of pigs. Killed her the first time right off, then reloaded to have her drug Kass with the wine and end up back in the tomb I'd already found but hadn't explored. So, explored the tomb and found the ancient stele, then went back to Circe and killed her again. Next stop is Kos to explore a cave/tomb of sirens, and then the last stop will be something about cyclopses. Just like the real Odysseus.
Main story wise my next move is to head back to Athens where apparently a plague has broken out. Will see when I get there. Wouldn't surprise me if Phoibe brought it with her from Kephallonia.

You don't have to kill Circe you can actually find a plant when you are looking for the wine for her that is an antidote to the poison and call her on trying to poison you and here her sob story. Make sure you do the Sirens cave before the cyclops otherwise the quest may bug out and it is a good quest.

ACVI swear whoever came up with the rat mini game should be shot. Off to Paris I went to deal with the whole Siege of Paris thing. SOme historical context I either missed or failed to consider. So Ragnar was apparently down in Frankia at one point in time and even laid siege to Paris of his own...so this does beg the question of course that here we have the apparently extremly famous Siege of Paris after a first Siege of Paris conducted by the most famous of all Vikings and yet the two aren't related? History is weird sometimes. Talked to Siegfried. He gave us the lay of the land. And then we got ambushed by mounted soldiers which was a bit annoying to deal with since I didn't have a lot of arrows or adrenaline. The big draw from this section though is that it does demonstrate how much Eivor has grown over the story. Though it'd be hard to justify if he just did it in the beginning of his journey since you can play this DLC pretty early on I wonder if they take that into account or is there just tonal whiplash? Yet, here we are, Eivor first commenting on Sigfried not pumping the guy for information and then his plan to talk to Charles and ensure peace and not war is also...shows growth. Though it'd be kind of an odd betrayal of Sigrfried and coming down there since it might leave them in the lurch. Which the other odd bit here is then to get to Charles Eivor has to assassinate a Christian Bishop for Sigfried...don't remember but I don't think Charles would be thrilled with Norsemen killing his other Christians. The assassination plot itself does show an interesting conundrum from a gameplay perspective. On the one hand there is some good here, looking for clues, scouting the area, learning about the best way to attack the target, and unfolding plans. But, the thing is Im not entirely sure that Vahalla was right for this kind of thing given that it was more action focused I guess in some ways so I hope they hit the balance right for Mirage because once more I can't see much of a way of getting there, at least the way I was planning on doing. So, went around and first got the watch word for the entrance to the church. But from what I gathered there was a lot of guards between there and there so I was thinking to myself it was likely that if I bumped into any of them I wouldn't be able to use the watch word or just have to fight my way through the guards. So remembered a key, went back, got the key from bandits and rats...used the key. Saw another key on a guy banging on on a door, tried to get cute and steal it, that didn't work...so ended up having to fight a group of people anyways and didn't get to use the watch word anyways. The assassination itself was messy as hell but somehow it worked. Tried to get into a pillar above the bishop, but I hit it and fell to the ground, the guy saw me so I rushed on him before he could fully react, stab...somehow his guards didn't see me so stab one, axe throw on the other. So...yeah. That was messy as shit but it got the job done.

Had a little go at the Fifa 17 demo last night and made myself feel a little nostalgic with the old commentary team of Martin Tyler and Alan Smith as I've been thinking of playing the Journey again. Was thinking start a career mode or 2 on the older Fifa's as well. Granted the graphics aren't as good and Fifa 17 doesn't have the Champions League licensing as it was still held by Konami back then fo rtheir PES games but outside of that it was a good game.
Will continue saves I have on the go fo rthe moment I think but I'm tempted to start careers on the older games and pla ythe Journey again soon.Though I may mix it up betwwen playing the older ones and newer ones. Especially as I've still got some ideas for the womens teams on Fifa 23 that I'd like to try.

You don't have to kill Circe you can actually find a plant when you are looking for the wine for her that is an antidote to the poison and call her on trying to poison you and here her sob story.
Too late, she's very dead. I've had enough of sob stories already anyway. And yes, I had the dude from the siren cave magically show up at the end of the Polyphemus quest, which seemed very random but whatever.
I headed back to Attika with the intention of finishing Barnabas' quest but made the mistake of docking in Athens, at which point the game hijacked me and forced me back into the main quest line. That ended poorly. Phoibe was killed by cultists and Deimos showed up again to murder Perikles. For a minute I thought I was in a Bioware game until I realized I didn't really care one whit about these characters. The whole city is ravaged by a plague which seems to have been caused by cultists seeking to sow chaos. Surprise, it worked. Managed to get Aspasia to the ship and set sail for Naxos, last known location of Myrrine aka Phoenix, dear ol' mom. Found her in charge of the island and dealing with rivals from Paros who, surprise, turned out to be cultist lackeys. Ran some errands, rescued some folks, and sunk a lot of ships. During this time I had several bounties on me since apparently taking out guards at the mine pissed someone off. So, while trying to sink the Paros ships I also had 2 merc ships on my tail. I tried taking them all out but that didn't work so well, so ended up racing away from the mercs to concentrate on Paros and the cultist on board. It's just not as satisfying killing them that way.
Afterwards, set sail for Thera as that is where Myrrine said real dad was last known to be. And here is where the game got weird. Not sure who I thought would be Kass' real dad, but it wasn't that geriatric guy. Then I got confused thinking this was part of the Atlantis add-on but, apparently it isn't? And then the game knocked me back to present day which was a real buzz kill so I hurried through that section to get back to Kass.
Edit: oops, forgot I also ran into Markos again and managed to get him out of trouble again. Really don't like that guy. He should partner with Alkibiades and then they can annoy each other to death.
